around 2-30 in the afternoon... a 40-year old man raomly approached the teen in the mile of the library's plaza... and attacked him with a pocket knife.. the boy was stabbed in both of his arms...bled profsely...needed surgery...but is expected to be okay. fortunately a sheriff's department substation is only a few feet away and deptuies responded in less than a minute. the sheriff's department is also crediting the boys friends for jumping into action after the attack. the suspect was still there when deputies got arrived... he was immediately arrested.

( marty @ landing ) the wife and attorneys representing the man in charge of the ghost ship warehouse in oakland derick almena are speaking out against the charges against him. the attorneys accused the alameda county district attorney of grand standing, saying their client should not be held responsible for the criminal prosecution of those who died. earlier this week, the alameda d-a chard almena and max harris, e creative director with 36 counts of involuntary

they came out on fire. scoring a finals record 49 points in the 1st quarter. the warriors, who trailed the whole game could not overcome the deficit. kevin durant had another strong game, scoring 35 points in the contest. but cleveland guard kyrie irving stole the show. he carved up the warriors defense, getting to the basket at will, finishing with a game high 40 points. lebron james finished with his ninth triple double in the finals . he passed magic johnson for the most triple-doubles in finals history. cleveland runs away with the game, 137 to 116. the warriors still lead the series 3 games to one. the dubs are now 15 and 1 this post-season. spencer blake res from a fan watch party at oracle arena. .( marty ) the pleasanton police department is sharing surveillance video of two men holding up a 7-11. police are hopping you might recognize the suspects. both of them have their faces partly covered... police say the two men walked into a 7-11 store on hop-yard road monday morning and pointed a gun at the clerk. they both ended up behind the counter and got away with cash and tobacco products. at times you'll see the clerk - who was wearing glasses. he was not injured. ( marty ) happening now: there are concerns that a new east bay park might not be safe. the park, which is currently under construction in alamo is the site of a former gas station. kron four's charles clifford reports parents are worried that lead contamination from the fuel could be lingering in the soil.

natscharles clifford says here at the corner of danville boulevard and hemme avenue in alamo a new park, hemme station, is under construction. through the fence you can see new benches, a bathroom, and paved pathways. but, some neighbors believe the park may be unsafe because of something you can't see.david cardiff lives nearby. he says that this location used to be the site of a hotel, the shady way inn, which also had old standard oil gas pumps. the hotel was demolished in the 1960's but cradiff worries that lead contamination from the pumps could be lingering in the groundsotdavid cardiff says the problem with those old tanks is that they were riveted. they weren't a completely sealed tank so the chances of them leaking was high.the county acquired the land from the san ramon valley fire district in 2014. as part of the environmental review of the hemme station project, a contractor was hired to test the ground for any contamination. their tests found that the site was safe but the contractor's investigation apparently didn't factor in the shady way inn or its gas pumps.when concerned neighbors pointed out the potential danger the county asked the same

contractor to retest the property. back in may, the contractor announced that they did find elevated lead levels at one spot near danvelle boulevard but they ultimately concluded that "based on a review of the analytical results, it is our opinion that there is no evidence of impact to the property due to the former gasoline station." david cardiff is skeptical.

from those who know him. this is a picture of mark veregge from the stanford university website.a $5000 warrant was issued for his arrest on the misdemeanor charge of prowling back in may. the julliard trained musician is also a principal percussionist for the california symphony and works at personal manager for the opera san jose, according to his linked in profile.the general director of the opera was bewildered to heard of the charge veregge's facing.saying he's know him 30 eyars. he called him a brilliant musician and a standup normal guy.no one was home at his house in south san jose where neighbors say he lives with his wife.their children grown and out of the house. he's just really super quiet. standupi spoke to another neighbor who didn't want to go on camera says he's lived next door to veregge for 20 plus years and never had any problems with the guy. he says he shocked by the allegations.verrage is expected to be arraigned on the charge june 30th. maureen kelly kron4 news. coming up... a crime

suspects are recovering this morning after an officer- involved shooting in brentwood. this happened just before 10:00 last night in the five hundred block of birchwood road. police say the suspects led officers on a pursuit then crashed into a home. no officers were injured and the is no word on the condition of the two people who weshot. nor is condition of the people in the home at the time. we will bring you more information as it enters our newsroom. ( marty ) june gloom took on a whole new meaning as some wet weather caught commuters by surprise in the santa cruz mountains. rain fell throughout the area. some people were not expecting rain in june, and even those who were ready say the slick roads demand full attention.

pushing legislation in an attempt to make the state of california a sanctuary state for marijuana. the proposed bill would block state and local police from assisting federal agents who target legal marijuana businesses unless they have a court order. the bill passed the state assembly last week and now has to face the state senate. california isn't the first state that's tried to protect its marijuana merchants. colorado lawmakers tried to pass a similar bill but failed. and oregon has a law ecting customer nesses from information. conducting safety test on transit buses to see if drivers are following state law as it relates to stopping at rail crossing i tested ac transit buses in richmond at the cutting blvd crossing, where they failed horribly im sorry is horribily too strong of a word?nats: ambiance the very same crossing where this big rig was recenty split in half after being hit by amtrack nats: ambiance i tested ac transit in hayward and was hard pressed to find even one driver coming to a complete stop many drivers simply did california stops . althought some people call them california rolls. but to me that's a dish served in sushi restaurants nats: ambiance i tested union city transit. they also failed . infact the transit district reached out to kron 4 and said they will fix the problem but my second check netted the same results nats: ambiance i even check on u.c. s.f. shuttle buses they even had this bus stops at all raioad crossings yey they failed to stop but get this some

argued the crossing was a controlled crossing so they were not requried to stop apparently, i was right and the naysayers were wrongso now the shuttles are stopping and some say they're even opening their doors to look and listen nats: ambiance so now i turned my attention to tri delta transit and i' m in the city of antioch and i waited for the onlaught of drivers ignoring state law and not stopping at rail crossing ..there was this one which did the california roll .. so i was like here we go again then something happened . almost every single tri delta transit bus driver followed state law and stopped at the crossing not only did they stop many of them waited nats: ambiance i was pleasently schocked that 99% of all the buses i watched stopped at waited .. now it could be because they thought my car was a supervisor's car and got spooked or maybe they know the law and were simply following it . either way i will give them crdit for behaving nicely i will see if i can duplicate the results in the future maybe this time in a different car good job tri delta transit in antioch stanley roberts kron 4 news

training to be a police dog in austrailia didn't make the cut.. everyone had high hopes for the pooch, but his trainers say he was just too nice to get the job done. this is "gavel" apparently he was happier licking strangers than restraining them. so the k-9 training program kicked him out. the governor of queensland, austrailia...who fostered the dog before training... has officially adopted him. he said the sweet pup now has a job that better fits his personality. gavel's duties include welcoming guests to the

police department is sharing surveillance video of two men holding up a 7-11. police are hoping you might recognize the suspects. both of them have their faces partly covered... police say the two men walked into a 7-11 store on hop-yard road monday morning and pointed a gun at the clerk. they both ended up behind the counter and got away with cash and tobacco products. at times you'll see the clerk - who was wearing glasses. he was not injured. believe the park may be unsafe because of something you can't see.david cardiff lives nearby. he says that this location used to be the site of a hotel, the shady way inn, which also had old standard oil gas pumps. the hotel was demolished in the 1960's but cradiff worries that lead contamination from the pumps could be lingering in the groundsotdavid cardiff says the problem with those old tanks ishat they were riveted. they weren't a completely sealed tank so the chances of em leaking was high.the county acquired the land from the san ramon valley fire district in 2014. as part of the environmental review of the hemme station project, a contractor was hired to test the ground for any contamination. their tests found that the site was safe but the contractor's investigation apparently didn't factor in the shady way inn or its gas pumps.when concerned neighbors pointed out the potential danger the county asked the same contractor to retest the property. back in may, the contractor announced that they did find elevated lead levels at one spot near danvelle boulevard but they ultimately concluded that "based on a

wet weather caught commuters by surprise in the santa cruz mountains. rain fell throughout the area. both highway 1-7 and highway 8-5 were impacted by yesterday's showers. several c-h-p officers responded to several minor accidents. no serious injuries were reported. ( marty @ landing ) breaking news. two suspects are recovering this morning after an officer- involved shoo in brentwood. this happened just before 10:00 last night in the five hundred block of birchwood road. police say the suspects led officers on a pursuit then crashed into a home. no officers were injured and there is no word on the condition of the two people who were shot. nor is

( averi ) police say around 2-30 in the afternoon... a 40-year old man randomly approached the teen in the middle of the library's plaza... and attacked him with a pocket knife.. the boy was stabbed in both of his arms...bled profsely...needed surgery...but is expected to be okay. fortunately a sheriff's department substation is only a few feet away and deptuies responded in less than a minute. the sheriff's department is also crediting the boys friends for jumping into action after the attack. the suspect was still there when deputies got arrived... he was immediately arrested.

.( marty ) the pleasanton police department is sharing surveillance video of two men holding up a 7-11. police are hopping you might recognize the suspects. both of them have their faces partly covered... police say the two men walked into a 7-11 store on hop-yard road monday morning and pointed a gun at the clerk. they both ended up behind the counter and got away with cash and tobacco products. at times you'll see the clerk - who was wearing glasses.

( marty ) happening now: there are concerns that a new east bay park might not be safe. the park, ich is currently under construction in alamo is the site of a former gas station. kron four's charles clifford reports parents are worried that lead contamination from the fuel could be lingering in the soil. natscharles clifford says here at the corner of danville boulevard and hemme avenue in alamo a new park, hemme station, is under construction. through the fence you can see new benches, a bathroom, and paved pathways. but, some neighbors believe the park may be unsafe because of something you can't see.david cardiff lives nearby. he says that this location used to be the site of a hotel, the shady way inn, which also had old standard oil gas pumps. the hotel was demolished in the 1960's but cradiff worries that lead contamination from the pumps could be lingering in the groundsotdavid cardiff says the problem with those old tanks is that they were riveted. they weren't a completely sealed tank so the chances of them leaking was high.the county acquired the land from the san ramon valley fire district in 2014. as part of the environmental

review of the hemme station project, a contractor was hired to test the ground for any contamination. their tests found that the site was safe but the contractor's investigation apparently didn't factor in the shady way inn or its gas pumps.when concerned neighbors pointed out the potential danger the county asked the same contractor to retest the property. back in may, the contractor announced that they did find elevated lead levels at one spot near danvelle boulevard but they ultimately concluded that "based on a review of the analytical results, it is our opinion that there is no evidence of impact to the property due to the former gasoline station." david cardiff is skeptical.

over the years i have been conducting safety test on transit buses to see if drivers are following state law as it relates to stopping at rail crossing i tested ac transit buses in richmond at the cutting blvd crossing, where they failed horribly im sorry is horribily too strong of a word?nats: ambiance the very same crossing where this big rig was recenty split in half after being hit by amtrack nats: ambiance i tested ac transit in hayward and was hard pressed to find even one driver coming to a complete stop many drivers simply did california stops . althought some people call them california rolls. but to me that's a dish served in sushi restaurants nats: ambiance i tested union city transit. they also failed . infact the transit district reached out

this. a moment of brotherly love. a toddler helps his baby brother climb out of his crib... and it's all caught on camera. in the video the boy carries a chair over to the crib and lifts it over the side. he struggles with the chair -- but finally gets it in there.. he then climbs into the crib and places the chair and shows his brother how to get out. we've cut some parts out the video to speed it up just a bit. the boy eventually helps his brother out and they celebrate with a hug before leaving the room. to be a police dog in austrailia didn't make the cut.. everyone had high hopes for the pooch, but his trainers say he was just too nice to get the job done. this is "gavel" apparently he was happier licking strangers than restraining them. so the k-9 training program kicked him out. the governor of queensland, austrailia...who fostered the dog before training... has officially adopted him. he said the sweet pup now has a job that better fits his personality. gavel's duties include welcoming guests to the governor's home and the country.
