fladeboe kron 4 news ( james ) antioch police say they have arrested a man for molesting a neighbor. police say they recently learned of the allegations against christopher liff from a girl. the victim told police the molestation occurred in 2013 when she was 10 years old. investigators arrested liff over the weekend during a sting where detectives posed as the victim. he is currently being held in the contra costa county jail awaiting charges.

( james ) san francisco's department of emergency management says its dispatch center is severely understaffed. so much so that dispatchers were begging the board of supervisors to find a way to hire more people. kron four's spencer blake spoke with dispatchers about the problems they say are costing lives. "san francisco 911."emergency dispatchers in san francisco have been answering more and more calls over the past six years.(nats)in that time, there has been a 37 percent increase in call volume."the problem, they say, is that that growth doesn't proportionally match the growth of the city."san francisco has grown by less than ten percent in that time. collectively, dispatchers are answering about a thousand ámore calls every day than they were in 2011."you have to just take the next call. and it's call after call after call."that's why unionized

dispatchers demanded more help from the county board of supervisors.but it's not just the employees who feel that way.spokesman francis zamora says the department of emergency management as a whole is on the same page. "we agree - we need more dispatchers, and we need to retain our dispatchers."right now it's not uncommon for call takers to work 12-hour shifts handling tense, stressfull pleas for help."there's a lot of mandatory and volunteer overtime that's taking place. that takes a toll on people's emotional well-being and physical well-being.""we've been running like that for the past two years. so there's a lot of angry, burnt-out dispatchers on that floor." ultimately, the benchmark is to have enough dispatchers to answer 90 percent of calls in ten seconds or less.but even with approval to hire 45 new dispatchers each year,"to pass is tough. so you're looking at one third, to maybe 15 percent making it."that's why union rep burt wilson also says retention rates need to go up. keeping more experienced dispatchers on board could help reach that 90 percent benchmark by next year with the mandatory overtime.if the

harassment claims. uber's board is still deciding on whether kalanick should take a leave of absence. ( james ) the children's clothing store 'gymboree' has filed for bankruptcy. the san francisco-based company is in debt 900-million dollars. gymboree plans to continue business operations during the restructuring and most of its 13-hundred stores will remain open. this come two months after shoe chain 'payless' filed for bankruptcy, closing more than 400 stores. other retailers, including ann taylor, lane bryant and justice will also be shutting down several locations. ( james @ landing ) the players on the golden state warriors were not the only ones working hard this past season. there is a twelve person video production crew behind the scenes. they put together the in-arena scoreboard, hype videos and the video features that are shared through the teams social networks. kron four's tech reporter gabe slate met up with the warriors

during the parade in 2015 was between 8 a-m and 10 a-m. they expect that will be the busiest time this year as well. they are also asking people to avoid the lake merritt station. they are also advising you to buy a clipper card which means you will be able to avoid long lines. and know that some trains will not be stopping at lake merritt if the crowds for the rally reach capacity. ( mark ) this season was filled with highlights. the addition on kevin durant was a plus for a team that set an n-b-a record with 73 regular season wins in 2016. ( james ) and through out the season steph curry and klay thompson played a key part in the warriors success.

( james ) an oakland police officer is recovering this morning after being hit by a drunk driver. take a look at this picture tweeted out by the oakland police department. it happened at around 11:30 last night near the corner of international boulevard and 57th street. the driver was arrested after the crash on suspicion of

drunk driving. the officer was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition. and oakland p-d also sent out this picture of a car being towed during a side show last night. in both tweets o-p-d commented asking people to please celebrate responsibly. ( james ) one of the suspects arrested after the deadly ghost ship fire in oakland appeared in court but did not enter a plea. max harris was arraigned... cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. his lawyer did not take any questions - only saying that he will appear again with co- defendant, derick almena. both are facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the december fire. neither have entered a plea. they are due back in court together on thursday. ( mark ) a teacher in the east bay is accused of hitting a student on the head... and verbally abusing students in the classroom. a third grader from bay elementary school in san lorenzo says a substitute teacher hit her on the head last week. she said the teacher was cursing at the students, and when the girl asked if she was okay, she hit her on the head and

said she didn't like nosy kids. the san lorenzo unified school district put the teacher on paid leave and launched an investigation. the girl's mother tells kron four that she is upset because the school didn't notify her when her daughter was hit. ( mark ) other parents at the school have complained about the teacher being rude to their children. the school district says they take the claims very seriously and are investigating. ( mark ) police make an arrest after a 74-year-old woman is murdered in her cupertino home. police arrested suzanne hernandez of los gatos. investigators say the motive behind the murder is not known. but it does ánot appear the victim and suspect know each other. hernandez is currently being held without bail... she is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow afternoon. ( james )(áááboxesááá) attorney general jeff sessions is set to testify today in an

open hearing in front of the senate intelligence committee. sessions will be asked questions about his part in the russia investigation. he is also expected to be asked about issues brought up by fired f-b-i director james comey last week. it is not clear if the attorney general will use an executive privilege to avoid certain questions. this is the first time sessions has testified in congress since recusing himself from the russia probe. we will be streaming sessions' testimony on our website at kron-four-dot-com starting at 11 a-m. ( mark ) president trump is considering firing the special counsel appointed to investigate russia's interference in the presidential election. that is according to one of the president's friends who says the president is considering dismissing robert mueller. mueller was appointed as special counsel in may after the president fired f-b-i director james comey. the white house has said that the president's friend never actually spoke to the president about firing mueller. and sources in the white house have told c-n-n that president trump is being advised against dismissing mueller. this week on highway 17. caltrans is repairing the damage from last winter's storms. traffic will delayed from just south of the summit to pasatiempo road in scotts valley. one southbound lane will be closed every day this week until two in the afternoon to avoid disrupting the evening commute. caltrans is also planning some night work but that has not yet been scheduled.. debris.">( mark ) several tornadoes tear through part of the midwest. this is video of one of the tornadoes in wyoming. you can see it pass just feet from the people taking the video and the large pieces of debris spinning around inside of it. ( james ) that was just one tornado to touch down yesterday. this is another one that touched down in cheyenne, wyoming.( mark ) more than three other tornado sightings were reported in the state. along with the dangerous storms and reports of strong wind came severe rain and even golfball-sized hail.( james ) so far only one injury has been reported. but winds apparently overturned tractors... took out a shed... and damaged at least one house. ( mark ) a tornado also touched down in colorado last night.( james ) a meteorology student shared this photo of the twister on twitter.( mark ) a tornado warning was in effect for much of the day... bringing large hail and heavy rain to the area. officials said there

a terrible tragedy for one houston family made the difference between life and death for a colorado boy. now the father is thanking the family for sharing the story of how their son died. frankie delgado died last week in texas from a dry drowning. we told you about this story last week on the kron 4 morning news. a dry drowning happens when a child inhales water and the fluid stays in the lungs for hours. garon vega says he saw

( mark ) the owner of an oakland dog rescue group is violently robbed after leaving a fundraiser for the non-profit. it happened last week as pali boucher was parked outside of her bernal heights home in san francisco. she is the owner of the "rocket dog" rescue that saves dogs from kill-shelters and helps find them new homes. boucher says five men with their faces covered approached her, grabbed her, and took everything that was inside her car. her cell phone, laptop, and wallet were stolen along with checks and cash just donated at a fundraiser.

( james ) antioch police arrest a man for allegedly molesting a young girl. the victim told police that christopher liff molested her back in 2013 when she was just 10 years old. investigators arrested liff during a sting operation where detectives posed as the victim. liff is currently being held in the contra costa county jail awaiting charges. ( james ) san francisco's department of emergency management is demanding that the board of supervisors hire more people. emergency dispatchers say they are answering about a thousand ámore calls every day than they were in 2011. they attributed this to the city's growth in population. dispatchers are also receiving more non-emergency calls, including people calling to complain about homelessness. it is common for call takers to work 12-hour shifts

( james ) an oakland police officer is recovering this morning after being hit by a drunk driver. take a look at this picture tweeted out by the oakland police department. it happened at around 11:30 last night near the corner of international boulevard and 57th street. the driver was arrested after the crash on suspicion of drunk driving. the officer was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition. and oakland p-d also sent out this picture of a car being towed during a side show last night. in both tweets o-p-d commented asking people to please celebrate responsibly. ( james ) a five-year-old boy died after being left in a day car van all day in arkansas. police say the bus driver picked up the boy yesterday morning and arrived at the day care center at 7:20. the child's body was

found in a booster seat on the bus eight hours later. police say the boy may have been asleep when the van arrived at the day care and never got off. the temperature in the lot was over 90 degrees yesterday afternoon. police will forward the case to the county's district attorney for possible charges against multiple people. ( mark ) one of the suspects arrested after the deadly ghost ship fire in oakland appeared in court but did not enter a plea. max harris was arraigned... cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. his lawyer did not take any questions - only saying that he will appear again with co- defendant, derick almena. both are facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the december fire. neither have entered a plea. they are due back in court together on thursday. ( mark ) a teacher in the east bay is accused of hitting a student on the head... and verbally abusing students in the classroom. a third grader from bay elementary school in san lorenzo says a substitute teacher hit her on the head last week. she

said the teacher was cursing at the students, and when the girl asked if she was okay, she hit her on the head and said she didn't like nosy kids. the san lorenzo unified school district put the teacher on paid leave and launched an investigation. the girl's mother tells kron four that she is upset because the school didn't notify her when her daughter was hit. ( mark ) other parents at the school have complained about the teacher being rude to their children. the school district says they take the claims very seriously and are investigating. ( james ) police make an arrest after a 74-year-old woman is murdered in her cupertino home. police arrested suzanne hernandez of los gatos. investigators say the motive behind the murder is not known. but it does ánot appear the victim and suspect know each other. hernandez is currently being held without bail... she is scheduled to be arraigned

( james ) at any moment a jury could reach a decision in the fate of comedian bill cosby. prosecutors and defense attorneys in the bill cosby rape trial made their final arguments to the jury last night. this is video of cosby leaving the courthouse. the 79-year- old comedian was smiling and singing as he left the court. he is accused of drugging and raping andrea constand... and faces three aggravated assault charges. each charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. on highway 17. caltrans is repairing the damage from last winter's storms. traffic will delayed from just south of the summit to pasatiempo road in scotts valley. one southbound lane will be closed every day this week until two in the afternoon to avoid disrupting the evening commute. caltrans is also planning some night work but that has not yet been scheduled.. through part of the midwest. this is video of one of the tornadoes in wyoming. you can see it pass just feet from the people taking the video and the large pieces of debris spinning around inside of it. ( james ) the san mateo county sheriff's department has identified the suspect in the stabbing of a 13-year-old boy outside a library. the suspect is 44-year-old nelson tolentino. at this point, investigators still do not have a motive. the attack happened as the boy stood in the courtyard in front of the millbrae public library on friday. he was stabbed several times - and is expected to recover. the tolentino is expected to be charged with attempted murder. ( mark ) the owner of an oakland dog rescue group is violently robbed after leaving a fundraiser for the non-profit. it happened

last week as pali boucher was parked outside of her bernal heights home in san francisco. she is the owner of the "rocket dog" rescue that saves dogs from kill-shelters and helps find them new homes. boucher says five men with their faces covered approached her, grabbed her, and took everything that was inside her car. her cell phone, laptop, and wallet were stolen along with checks and cash just donated at a fundraiser. ( mark ) in total, 15-hundred dollars was stolen. she says the money was needed because donations are very low right ( james ) there was a graduation ceremony for one person at liberty high school in brentwood. u-s army reservist harland fletcher didn't attend the graduation ceremony with his classmates friday because he was not allowed to wear his military
