(dave)very warm to hot weather is forecast inland through the weekend as high pressure strengthens over california. a heat advisory is in effect for most inland locations for this weekend and into early next week as temperatures warm to levels as much as 20 degrees above seasonal averages. slight cooling is then expected monday and however, very warm to hot conditions are expected to persist inland well into next week. ( marty @ landing) happening today... and throughout the weekend, a major heat wave will be rolling through the bay area. with temps expected to reach the triple digits in some areas, many will be looking for a place to cool off. kron 4's averi harper is live at walnut creek with more on people are trying to beat the heat. averi? ( averi ) we have a major heat wave heading our way. highs friday afternoon will reach the upper 90s inland and low 80s near the bay.starting saturday, low 100s can be expected for the inland valleys and last for the next six days, at least.we are going to see temperatures suddenly jump about 10 to 20 degrees above average and last for an extended period of time. the national weather service has issued a heat advisory for most inland areas from saturday 11 a.m. to monday 11 p.m.people will need to:find ways to escape the heatstay

( marty ) breaking overnight... a 37-year-old man was shot and killed friday night in an officer-involved shooting in antioch. the shooting happened friday around 11:30 p.m. near the 2300 block of manzanita way. the victim was an antioch resident. the officer was not injured during the incident. we are working on gathering more information on on the shooting. we'll continue to update you throughout the morning. emerging about the man who opened fire inside a san francisco u-p-s facility on wednesday. 38-year-old jimmy lam shot and killed three co workers before turning the gun on himself. police are working on one possible motive, that the gunman may have felt disrespected. kron4"s charles clifford is tracking developments. on friday, the associated press reported that an sfpd official has told them that jimmy lam, the suspect in wednesday's deadly shooting at this ups facility, may have felt disrespected by his colleagues. one of lam's co- workers also told the a-p that lam had struggled with depression and personal problems for years. among his past issues, lam was convicted twice of driving on a suspended license. in 2010 he was convicted of driving under the influence and sentenced to three years' probation.at some point he may have also been involved in a dispute with a girlfriend over visitation rights for their child. but while more is being learned

about jimmy lam's past, his motive for shooting and killing three coworkers remains a mystery.we reached out of the sfpd on friday, but they declined to comment stating that the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.meanwhile, the family and friends of those who died continue to mourn. in san francisco's diamond heights neighborhood a memorial for 46- year old michael lefiti continues to grow. people we spoke to on friday couldn't believe that anyone would have a problem with him.sota gofund me page has also been set up for another victim, 50 year old benson louie, to help his family pay for funeral expenses. they blocked traffic for hours. thousands of demonstrators took to the streets after former officer jeronimo (yeh- ron'-ih-moh) yanez was found ánotá guilty in the death of philando castile. yanez shot and killed castile during a traffic stop last july. he testified that castile told him he was carrying a gun. but then ignored the officers commands to ánotá pull the gun out. the woman with castile said he reaching for his drivers license as the officer asked. she was streaming the incident live on facebook. yanez is no longer with the police department. look at some of the new medical findings released this week: ( marty ) eating fried potatoes more than twice a week can ádoubleá your risk of death. that's according to a new study just published. this includes foods like french fries, potato chips and hash browns. researchers say eating potatoes that have not been fried doesn't have the same risk. they say you don't have to avoid french fries entirely, but it should only be enjoyed as a treat about once a month. monitoring hot spots after flames rip through a warehouse. the blaze broke out friday afternoon in san francisco's bayview district. kron four's hermela aregawi has the story. (hermela aregawi) the fire burned through practically every part of this 5000 square foot ware house, a facility that manufactures metal.those who work nearby describe the initial moments.coral romero/witness: i heard a muffled explosion. that's a muffled boom like one of the kids up on the hill were throwing fireworks. my partner thought it was one of the metal guys dropped a peace of metal on the concrete so i didn't jump up or anything because we're used to hearing that noise all the time. and then the cabinet guys across the street said fire get out now.fortunately no one was in the warehouse when the fire started.and fire officials say they were successful in keeping the fire from spreading to businesses next door and residences nearby.but they say it wasn't easy.leut. jonathan baxter/spokesman, sffd: we were very fortunate that we were able to keep this

5000 square foot fully involved warehouse fire to just that warehouse. we have no exposures to any of our surrounding businesses or to our residential areas. we did put an initial shelter in place in effect which is still in place, precautionary, due to the fact that we had a good strong wind going east and we wanted to make sure the residential areas were pretoectedthe san francisco fire department had all hands on deck and even had to call their reserves.officials say about 122 firefighters were on the scene.and many are expected to work into afternoon to finish the job injured or displaced. ( marty ) the two men who are charged in the oakland ghost ship warehouse fire were in court friday but did not enter a plea. derick almena and max harris have been in custody for two-weeks. they are charged with 36-counts of involuntary manslaughter in the deadly december fire. no cameras were allowed in the courtroom, but derek almena's attorney says he is having a difficult time

defendants told reporters his client is innocent. curtis briggs, who represents max harris says harris is not the type of man responsible for killing 36 -people. briggs was also joined by family members, as they called harris a loving person who is innocent.

( marty ) breaking news... bill cosby's rape trial ends day six without a verdict, after jurors failed to reach a decision. the judge in the trial has declared a mistrial. as the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision to convict or acquit. prosecutors now get four months to decide whether they want to retry cosby or drop the charges. cosby is accused of drugging and assaulting andrea constand in january 2004. at the time, she was the director of operations for temple university's women's basketball team. constand says the incident happened at cosby's home near philadelphia. ( marty ) a coroner's report says actress carrie

fisher's death says sleep apnea may have contributed to her passing. her manner of death has been ruled undetermined but medical examiners say heart disease and drug use were also conditions that were factors in her death. the report indicates that she had taken multiple drugs prior to her passing. fisher suffered a heart attack on a flight from london in december 20-16 and died several days later. she was 60-years old. ( marty ) statistics show that one-in-8 californians struggle with hunger. the problem is even more acute here in the bay area. food banks say one in 4 people in our community struggle. as part of kron's commitment to fight hunger, staff members volunteered to help. phillipe djegal was there. hot spots after flames rip through a warehouse. the blaze broke out friday afternoon in san francisco's bayview district. kron four's hermela aregawi has the story. mistrial. this after the jury failed to reach a verdict, in six days of deliberation. a spokesman said cosby's power is back.meantime, prosecutors say they will re-try cosby on 3 counts of aggrivated, indecent assault. cosby is accused of drugging and assaulting andrea constand in january 2004. at the time, she was the director of operations for temple university's women's basketball team. constand says the incident happened at cosby's home near philadelphia. ( marty ) a coroner's report says actress carrie fisher's death says sleep apnea may have contributed to her passing. her manner of death has been ruled undetermined but medical examiners say heart disease and drug use were also conditions that were factors in her death. the report indicates that she had taken multiple drugs prior to her passing. fisher suffered a heart attack on a flight from london in december 20-16 and
