and brothers played it would just be an added bonus and i can kind of bring the underhanded free throw back to golden state. it's been 40- something years, but it'd be fun to have the underhanded free throw back in the bay area." and the granny style shot would be welcomed with open arms... considering canyon's father found some success off his unique stroke. as the youngest son of the barry clan, canyon didn't hesitate to adopt his dad's shot.... and the style is timeless, as he went 88-percent from the line last season at florida. "for me, i'm kind of a science and math guy so logic would dictate that if you had one of the best free throw shooters of all time as a personal free throw coach, you should at least give it a chance. so when i decided to make the switch, i just really liked the form. there's less pivot points and hinge joints, so it's a more repeatable motion." and with all that math talk, you can be sure barry has a pretty good contingency lined up. if an nba roster spot doesn't work out, he'll pursue a graduate degree in nuclear studies. "you never know how long the ball bounces, so crazier things have happened, whether it's a season ending or career ending injury. so just to have a nuclear engineering degree to fall back on, it's not a bad backup plan. but just really excited and just trying to pursue my basketball career for as long as possible." no matter what canyon ends up doing, we know
