( marty ) breaking overnight... the vallejo police department has opened an internal affairs investigation to determine whether an officer used a racial epitaph during a traffic stop. the incident happened saturday afternoon when two officers

made a traffic stop related to a car jacking. police say a resident in the area recorded the encounter and said one of the officers used a racial epitaph during the initial contact with the people in the car. the officer involved in the incident has been placed on leave pending the completion of an investigation into the incident. we're working to get more information on the incident. . ( marty ) firefighters are hoping the slightly cooler temperatures today will help them knock down a grass fire burning contra costa county. it has charred over 200 acres and it's burning near a refinery. kron4's hermela aregawi has the details on the containment efforts. 360 acres on fire.and about 200 firefighters from across the east bay working feverishly to put it out.kevin martin/witness: once the fire gets, once you think it stopped it just comes right back up. it came up in 5 different places. i hear helicopters flying over my house. i went in the middle of street. i saw a fire, came over here. all of the sudden

the whole field looked like a pit of hell. smoke everywhere you can barely see blue. that's how much smoke there was. it was just straight black.tony perez/witness:we looked in the backyard. we had definitely seen the smoke in the backyard and uh, we came down the street. and uh at first it was just a small fire and it definitely picked up fast because of the valley and the winds. they're really picking up today. definitely spread across the hills in the back, just about hitting the refinerythe blaze burned close to the phillips 66 oil refinery.people who live in the area say they were concerned about the flames causing an explosion.tony perez/witness: i was definitely afraid of the refinery blowing up, possibly hitting pipeline underground. that definitely was the first thing coming through my mind for sure just because of the dry weather and there's a lot of dry brush on the ground there were no evacuations.no structures threatened.and no was injured.

( marty ) in butte county. the flames from the wall fire are moving fast. burning up 27 hundred acres of dry brush and destroying at least 10 buildings. 200 home owners are under evacuation orders or warnings. the fire is 20 percent contained. and crews fear the wind could drive the flames in another direction, causing the ( marty ) better news about a massive wildfire in yolo county, west of sacramento. the winters fire has burned over two-thousand acres and is 75-percent contained. three people have been injured and the cause is still under investigation. mandatory evacuations and several road closures have been lifted.

( marty ) and in san luis obispo, crews are trying to put out a massive fire there. the alamo fire has burned 19-thousand acres and is only 10 percent contained. its burning off of highway 166 near twitchell reservoir. evacuation warnings are still in effect for the area. ... ( marty @ landing ) another big story we are following this morning... arson investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a massive fire at a construction site in oakland that forced hundreds of people out of their homes. some who live by the construction site are now slowly being let back in. that decision was made after a massive crane hovering dangerously over the site was brought down by a demolition crew. kron 4's ella sogomonian has details on the next step. pkg a demolition crew was brought in to tear down a giant crane at this oakland construction site fire at valdez and grand just after 7:30 saturday night. crews attached two cables, rotated

the crane by the arm toward an empty lot, and finally took down the threat.(nats)sot: deputy chief erik logan, oakland fire department// "it worked out perfectly but there were a lot of scenarios that had to be worked out, a lot of worst case scenarios that had to be worked out before they even preformed this task."a team of engineers planned the two-hour operation ober night because the crane became unstable from destructive flames that erupted around 4:30 in the morning friday and posed a threat to people and buildings.(nats: saied haddad, evacuee// "i have to show up here and play chase the cameras to see when there is a briefing")earlier in the day frustrated evacuees showed up to the site during a press conference - desperate for answers.sot: saied haddad, evacuee// "it's frustrating not to know that the city wasn't really collecting our information so. but now we're happy, a gentleman from the office did so."oakland city spokesperson sean maher says now that the crane is out of the way - evacuees can return home.

on dollar bills. and traces of cocaine can be found on 80 percent of dollar bills. other drugs like heroin and meth also showed up on the bills but not as often. researchers also found animal d-n-a from pets along with food molecules. but the study also points out that disease transmission from money is rare, and researchers are looking at ways of cleaning money between transactions. ( marty ) the city of san jose has been hit with a lawsuit. it's in response to the deadly shooting of a teenager last summer. a press conference about the shooting of anthony nunez was held yesterday afternoon. the lawsuit argues that nunez was in a medical emergency when he was shot by officers. the incident began when nunez fired a gun grazing his head with a bullet.

nunez's family believed he was suicidal and called police. officers at the scene say nunez began pointing that gun at authorities, so they opened fired. however the family says they hid the weapon from the 18-year-old and he was unarmed when he was shot. ( marty ) in the east bay... a woman is behind bars after confessing to killing her parents. police say it happened in a home in this pittsburg neighborhood. 50 year old menique lashon is behind bars. lashshon's 67 year old mother and 73 year old father were both stabbed multiple times. police say lashon lived with them and that she tried to clean the scene before calling police, and eventually confessed. police do not know the motive behind the killings. ( marty ) cal fire crews were busy in the east bay. they tackled three fires near brentwood early saturday morning. 50 homeowners were forced to evacuate because of the flames. it took more than two hundred firefighters to get the fires under control. flames scorched more than

two hundred acres along rural marsh creek road. fire investigators are looking into how the three separate fires began just hours apart. cal fire hopes to have complete contianment by today. ( marty ) investigators say that fireworks may be to blame for an apartment fire in antioch. this is what it looked like across the street from the somersville towne center. the fire started around 10 friday night, and injured three people. they were taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. firefighters say 24 apartments are affected. ( marty ) in world news this morning... president trump is back in washington this morning. he wrapped up the g-20 summit in germany. and while many of the world leaders met for peaceful discussions, tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in protest. reid binion has the story. natspresident trump concluded his second international trip as commander in chief

saturday.. as day two of the g-20 summit in hamburg, germany was coming to an end. trump met with a list of world leaders including the indonesian president..natsthe prime minister of singapore... natsthe japanese prime minister..nats and the british prime minister.. where he later confirmed that the two countries are working on an agreement. trump: "we're working on a trade deal which will be a very big deal very powerful. it'll be great for both countries. i think we will have that done very, very quickly."the president also put an end to speculation that a trip to the u.k. may have canceled due to a backlash in britain among the public and lawmakers.president trump: 'i will be going to london. when are you going sir? we'll work that out."the discussion on trade continued with the chinese president... and during a bilateral meeting, trump thanked the country for their support in helping with north korea.. president trump: "i appreciate the things that you have done in light of the very substantial problem that we all face in north korea. a problem that something has to be done about." natsand while talks were peaceful inside the summit... the same could not be said for what was happening

out on the streets.the city estimated up to 50-thousand people came out in protest.. according to authorities, since the demonstrations began earlier this week, more than 100 people have been arrested. reid binion kron 4 news. ( marty ) president trump tweeted this morning about his meeting friday with russian president vladimir putin. the president typing that it's time to work constructively with russia. the two negotiated a cease-fire in parts of syria. president trump also says he pressed putin about russia meddling in the 2016 election and that putin denied it. as the giants unveiled his plaque on their wall of fame. at a-t and t park yesterday. here's the moment of the unveiling. around a thousand fans showed up to watch the ceremony. willie mays, willie mccovey, other former giants greats were there. bonds now works as a special advisor to the giants. he showed his gratitude for his hometown support. ( marty ) after the ceremony we asked bonds in the dugout which of his historic feats felt the best. bonds answered, all the ones that happened at home. ( marty ) as for the giants who are still playing... they were taking on the marlins. and bonds threw out the first pitch at the game. let's move to the

ninth inning. the giants were down by 2 when joe panik hits a rbi single. that brings in brandon crawford to make it a one-run game then with two outs, and two on, hunter pence strikes out swinging to end the game. marlins hold on to win 5-4 giants will try to end the first half of the season with a win before the all star break ( marty ) meanwhile the a's in seattle. they were tied with the mariners in the ninth that's when ryon healy hits a go-ahead double scoring rajai davis. oakland takes the lead 4-3 and would go on to win the game by that score. they'll be closing out the first half of the season in seattle later today. . involved shooting in vallejo it happened saturday afternoon when police found two car jacking suspects at city park. both suspects left as soon as police arrived....one on foot and the other in a car. one officer chased the suspect on foot. police say the suspect pulled out a gun when he realized he was being followed. the officer fired his gun and missed when the suspect ducked. that suspect ran and barricaded himself in a shed. the swat team came and the suspect eventually came out. he has been identified as victor hurtado. the other suspect has been identified as david placante. both have been arrested. ( marty ) this incident is related to an officer possibly using a

racial epitapha after pulling over a driver in vallejo. someone living in the area says the officer used it while interacting with the potential suspects after recording the encounter. the officer accused has been placed on leave. we're working on getting more information about this and will bring you updates as soon as we get them. ( marty ) police are on the hunt for multiple juveniles in connection with a strong arm robbery near the u-c berleley campus. police say around 10 friday night several teenagers exited the bart train in downtown berkeley along with the victim. the victim walked to campus when the thieves pushed the man to the ground. police say one of the suspects kicked the victim multiple times and the others stole his property. the victim suffered minor injuries during the encounter. no description of the five juvenile suspects has been released. (sarah) yes." sarah tyack lives at 100 grand avenue. early in the morning... she was briefly allowed back into her apartment a block away from the fire to grab a few things... before she was again told to leave.sarah tyack/evacuee- "i don't think there's any damage. we're not allowed back in til they secure the crane, and i think they're gonna try to dismantle the crane. think the fear is, the cranes gonna swing and hit the building. so, they're just being cautious." cautious while evacuees and neighbors are asked to be patient. moonpie bintijuwa/neighbor- "it makes all of us look at the fact that we need to stay ready. i'm thinking about getting a back with my papers and everything right inside my whole closet. so, if something happens, i can get what i need and get out of there." a lesson sarah tyack says she's

( marty ) a grass fire burned 14 acres in san jose. it happened around 5:30 yesterday on fontanoso way and silver creek valley road. the fire has been contained. it took about 35 firefighters to put it out. no one was injured and no buildings were damaged. crews are still trying to figure out the cause. the number of stray dogs following the fourth. this dog was wearing his patriotic colors at the antioch animal shelter but he was just one of many in there that was confused about fourth of july traditions. we are finding ourselves inundated with stray animals following the fourth of july celebration, mostly large dogs, so we're running out of kennel space. pets that have escaped over the holiday have taken to serious efforts in reaction to fireworks displays. some break through windows and doors to try and get out. the shelter has taken steps on saturday to reconnect pets with their owners. we're trying to encourage owners to try and claim their lost pets so were waiving any impound fees. most of them are first time that they're learning that their pets are scared, terrified of fireworks. fourth of july really just keep them in a crate it's really important fourth of july is just the worst day for us at the shelter because a lot of stray's come in. for those not finding a lost pet the shelter recommends you look on line at two different websites. know that there is a way to find your dog. go to fido alert dot com contra county, go to next door. for those who found their missing pet this weekend they were reunited without cost. all that has to be paid for is the license and the chip, if the dog already has that when it was impounded than they walk away free. it's

( marty ) actor shia labeouf was arrested again for public drunken-ness. the 31-year-old actor was booked into a jail in georgia saturday morning. labeouf was released on a seven- thousand dollar bail. he is in the city of savannah... filming the "peanut butter falcon." this isn't the first time the actor has had run-ins with the law. he has been arrested before for d-u-i in california and public intoxication in texas. ( marty ) at least one person is dead after a deadly crash in glen ellen in sonoma county this morning. the single-car crash was first reported around 4:05 a.m. in the area of state highway 12 and dunbar rd. police ssay a car left the roadway, went down an embankment, and caught fire. it is unclear if more than one person was in the car. ( marty ) the city of san jose has been hit with a lawsuit. it's in response to the deadly shooting of a teenager last summer. a press conference about the shooting of anthony nunez was held yesterday afternoon. the lawsuit argues that nunez was in a medical emergency when he was shot by officers. the incident began when nunez fired a gun grazing his head with a bullet. nunez's family believed he was suicidal and called police.

officers at the scene say nunez began pointing that gun at authorities, so they opened fired. however the family says they hid the weapon from the 18-year-old and he was unarmed when he was shot. ( marty ) in the east bay... a woman is behind bars after confessing to killing her parents. police say it happened in a home in this pittsburg neighborhood. 50 year old menique lashon is behind bars. lashshon's 67 year old mother and 73 year old father were both stabbed multiple times. police say lashon lived with them and that she tried to clean the scene before calling police, and eventually confessed. police do not know the motive behind the killings. ( marty ) investigators say that fireworks may be to blame for an apartment fire in antioch. this is what it looked like across the street from the somersville towne center. the fire started around 10 friday night, and injured three people. they were taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. firefighters say 24 apartments are affected.

( marty ) breaking overnight... police are now investigating an officer involved shooting in vallejo it happened saturday afternoon when police found two car jacking suspects at city park. both suspects left as soon as police arrived....one on foot and the other in a car. one officer chased the suspect on

foot. police say the suspect pulled out a gun when he realized he was being followed. the officer fired his gun and missed when the suspect ducked. that suspect ran and barricaded himself in a shed. the swat team came and the suspect eventually came out. he has been identified as victor hurtado. the other suspect has been identified as david placante. both have been arrested. ( marty ) this incident is related to an officer possibly using a racial epitapha after pulling over a driver in vallejo. someone living in the area says the officer used it while talking to the potential suspects the neighbor recorded the encounter. the officer accused has been placed on leave. we're working on

( marty ) police are on the hunt for multiple juveniles in connection with a strong arm robbery near the u-c berleley campus. police say around 10 friday night several teenagers exited the bart train in downtown berkeley along with the victim. the victim walked to campus when the thieves pushed the man to the ground. police say one of the suspects kicked the victim multiple times and the others stole his property. the victim suffered minor injuries during the encounter. no description of the five juvenile suspects has been released. ( marty ) a grass fire burned 14 acres in san jose. it happened around 5:30 yesterday on fontanoso way and silver creek valley road. the fire has been contained. it took about 35 firefighters to put it out. no one was injured and no buildings were damaged. crews are still trying to figure out the cause. ( marty @ landing ) animal shelters in the east bay are facing a big problem following independance day celebrations. kron4's jeff pierce tells us they are over whelmed with the number of stray dogs following the fourth. this dog was wearing his patriotic colors at the antioch animal shelter but he was just one of many in there

that was confused about fourth of july traditions. we are finding ourselves inundated with stray animals following the fourth of july celebration, mostly large dogs, so we're running out of kennel space. pets that have escaped over the holiday have taken to serious efforts in reaction to fireworks displays. some break through windows and doors to try and get out. the shelter has taken steps on saturday to reconnect pets with their owners. we're trying to encourage owners to try and claim their lost pets so were waiving any impound fees. most of them are first time that they're learning that their pets are scared, terrified of fireworks. fourth of july really just keep them in a crate it's really important fourth of july is just the worst day for us at the shelter because a lot of stray's come in. for those not finding a lost pet the shelter recommends you look on line at two different websites. know that there is a way to find your dog. go to fido alert dot com contra county, go to next door. for those who found their missing pet this weekend they were reunited without cost. all that has to be paid for is the license and the chip, if the dog already has that when it was impounded than they walk away free. it's a get out of jail free card. if a pet owner doesn't claim their dog after the weekend the fees will be dramatically reduced. in antioch jeff

( marty ) a california congresswoma n is offering a 50 thousand dollar reward for information that helps find the person who shot and killed a student playing pokemon go. the shooting happened in august of last year. 20-year old calvin riley was playing the game with his friends near aquatic park in san francisco when he was shot and killed. police have no information on the shooter. riley was a student at delta college in stockton and went to high school in san mateo. the reward is being funded by the city of san francisco.

( marty ) the state of hawaii is back in federal court with a new motion to challenge president trump's travel ban. state officials asked a federal judge to enforce the injunction he issued in march that blocked the ban altogether. the 9th u.s. circuit court of appeals said it did not have jurisdiction to address the supreme court ruling. but the fedearl judge can interpret and enforce it. hawaii contends the trump administration rules improperly omit grandparents, aunts, and uncles of u.s. citizens from the list of people who can travel to the u.s. dead after a deadly crash in glen ellen in sonoma county this morning. the single- car crash was first reported around 4:05 a.m. in the area of state highway 12 and dunbar rd. police ssay a car left the roadway, went down an embankment, and caught fire. it is unclear if more than one person was in the car. ( marty ) the city of san jose has been hit with a lawsuit. it's in response to the deadly shooting of a

teenager last summer. a press conference about the shooting of anthony nunez was held yesterday afternoon. the lawsuit argues that nunez was in a medical emergency when he was shot by officers. the incident began when nunez fired a gun grazing his head with a bullet. nunez's family believed he was suicidal and called police. officers at the scene say nunez began pointing that gun at authorities, so they opened fired. however the family says they hid the weapon from the 18-year-old and he was unarmed when he was shot. ( marty ) in the east bay... a woman is behind bars after confessing to killing her parents. police say it happened in a home in this pittsburg neighborhood. 50 year old menique lashon is behind bars. lashshon's 67 year old mother and 73 year old father were both stabbed multiple times. police say lashon lived with them and that she tried to clean the scene before calling police, and eventually confessed. police do not

police arrived....one on foot and the other in a car. one officer chased the suspect on foot. police say the suspect pulled out a gun when he realized he was being followed. the officer fired his gun and missed when the suspect ducked. that suspect ran and barricaded himself in a shed. the swat team came and the suspect eventually came out. he has been identified as victor hurtado. the other suspect has been identified as david placante. both have been arrested. ( marty ) police are on the hunt for multiple juveniles in connection with a strong arm robbery near the u-c berleley campus. police say around 10 friday night several teenagers exited the bart train in downtown berkeley along with the victim. the victim walked to campus when the thieves pushed the man to the ground. police say one of the suspects kicked the victim multiple times and the others stole his property. the victim suffered minor injuries during the encounter. no description of the five juvenile suspects has been released. ( marty ) a grass fire burned 14 acres in san jose. it happened around 5:30 yesterday on fontanoso way and silver creek valley road. the fire has been contained. it took about 35 firefighters to put it out. no one was injured and no buildings were damaged. crews are still trying to figure out the cause. was just one of many in there that was confused about fourth of july traditions. we are finding ourselves inundated with stray animals following the fourth of july celebration, mostly large dogs, so we're running out of kennel space. pets that have escaped over the holiday have taken to serious efforts in reaction to fireworks displays. some break through windows and doors to try and get out. the shelter has taken steps on saturday to reconnect pets with their owners. we're trying to encourage owners to try and claim their lost pets so were waiving any impound fees. most of them are first time that they're learning that their pets are scared, terrified of fireworks. fourth of july really just keep them in a crate it's really important fourth of july is just the worst day for us at the shelter because a lot of stray's come in. for those not finding a lost pet the shelter recommends you look on line at two different websites. know that there is a way to find your dog. go to fido alert dot com contra county, go to next door. for those who found their missing pet this weekend they were reunited without
