this morning on the kron four morning news... more people are being evacuated as problems with the oakland construction fire continue. we have the latest details. continue to search for a cause in the latest oakland construction fire. we first brought you the story on the kron four morning news on friday. this morning evacuees returning home say they are worried it could have been the work of an arsonist. kron four's ella sogomonian has the details. evacuees are making their way back home on sunday after close to 700 were displaced by a massive construction site fire in oakland on valdez and grand that sparked friday morning around 4:30. sot: ksenia kirillova, evacuee back home// "i'm really happy to be back home."all but two buildings have been cleared for reentry as pg&e crews restore power that was cut off after the fire. evacuees expressed their gratitude to firefighters for stopping working tirelessly to stop the flames from spreading. sot: ksenia kirillova, evacuee back home// "i want to say thank you for firemen and for departments that solved this problem because it was a really huge fire and i'm happy that the fire didn't spread." this is the third fire this year at a construction site in the area causing concern that this could be the work of an arsonist which hasn't been

(tiffany) federal investigators are now looking into the cause of the most recent fire. this comes as they have recently linked a suspect to three previous fires at apartment buildings that were under construction. a-t-f investigators have released these pictures of the arson suspect in those past fires. you can see him dressed in a black hoodie with a black backpack. in one shot he is riding a bicycle. they believe this man is to blame for three other fires similar to the fire that burned this past friday. two of the three fires burned at the same apartment building location that was

under construction in emeryville on the border of oakland. the most recent fire was in may. the third fire that investigators have linked him to happened last october near lake merritt. the building that caught fire was also under renovation. all of these fires caused millions of dollars worth of damage. .. (tiffany) happening now... a total of 14 large wildfires are burning across the state this morning. hot temperatures and strong winds are fueling the fires. the biggest fire, crews are dealing with this morning is the wall fire burning in butte county near oroville. five-thousand acres have burned and it is only 17- percent contained. the wildfire is so severe, governor jerry brown has issued a state of emergency for butte county. reporter alissa becerra has the story. hot boiling flames incinerating swaths of land. ...in what looked like a

(tiffany) that was alissa becerra reporting. right now the san francisco fire department is helping with fighting that fire. and in southern california, the alamo fire continues to grow. so far it has torched 23-thousand acres near santa maria and is just 15-percent contained. air quality warnings have been issued due to the smoke and ash from the fire. (tiffany) meanwhile the whittier fire in santa barbara county is just five percent contained this morning. fire officials say it has destroyed approximately 20 structures along highway 154. at last check, it has burned 78-hundred acres. mandatory evacuation orders and warnings were issued for people who live near the fire. today... lawyers for the city of oakland will appear in court over a sex scandal that has rocked the city's police department. civil rights lawyers say a federal judge should consider holding city and police officials in contempt of court for mishandling the investigation. several officers are accused of sexually exploiting a woman named jasmin abuzlin. today lawyers will discuss a report that says the mayor and city administrator did not do enough to find out why the department had not investigated the scandal more thoroughly. oakland has agreed to pay nearly one- million dollars to settle abuzlin's lawsuit. (tiffany) police in san jose are searching for the attacker in a deadly stabbing. it happened yesterday morning on south second street. officers found a man suffering from at least one stab wound. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. the woman suspected of the crime has not been caught. the motive is not clear. (tiffany) two men are

behind bars this morning after an officer involved shooting in vallejo. it happened on saturday afternoon when police found two carjacking suspects at city park. there was a brief foot chase when one of the men pulled out a gun. the officer fried his gun... but didn't hit anyone. one of the men then barricaded himself in a shed... but later surrendered when the swat team arrived. the incident is related to accusations that an officers used a racial slur during the encounter. someone living in the area says they recorded the officer talking to the men. that officer has been placed on leave. drive.wayne passed away before finishing it, and just barely missed his son's driving test last week - which he passed. "after that story from chan's son, a union rep promised him that teamsters would help finish that car for him. in san francisco, spencer blake, kron four news." (tiffany) police in hayward are looking for a gunman after a man was killed over the weekend. it happened just before 10:30 on saturday night on hill avenue. when police arrived on scene, they found a 19- year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. he was pronounced dead at the scene. right now there is no description of any suspects. the sheriff's department is collecting surveillance video from the area to try to find answers. (tiffany) an oakland man drowns in the russian river in sonoma county.

investigators say that a man went under the water near steelhead beach regional park yesterday afternoon. the body of the 19-year-old man was found around 5:00 last night. his identity has not yet been released. (tiffany) several people including children are recovering after being shot at a party in ohio. a woman was holding the party to announce that she was pregnant and would soon be giving birth to a baby boy. the people at the party were about to watch a movie when two men came through the front door and opened fire. the mother was shot in the leg and lost her baby. eight others were injured including three children. some of the victims are still in critical condition this morning. police do not have a motive for the shooting. the shooters are still on the loose. are set to start fixing the 96- inch sinkhole on rheem boulevard near center street this morning. repairs are expected to last until october. during this time, the two-lane section of rheem boulevard near moraga road, will be closed to all traffic. a detour has been set up if you are trying to travel through that area. (tiffany) gas prices continue to fall in the bay area. this comes as a new survey says there is plenty of supply of both crude oil and gas right now. here's a look at prices around the bay area. in san jose it's $2.95 for gallon of regular gas. in oakland it's $2.98. and san francisco is always the most expensive in the nation at $3.09 for gallon of gas. night. police say a group of teens followed a man from the downtown berkeley station and eventually jumped and robbed the man. those teens have not been caught. (tiffany) happening today... congresswoman jackie spier will officially announce a 50-thousand dollar reward for information that helps find the person who shot and killed a student playing pokemon go. the shooting happened in august of last year. 20-year old calvin riley was playing the game with his friends near aquatic park in san francisco when he was shot and killed. police have no information on the shooter. the reward is being paid for by the city of san francisco. (tiffany) a pacifica woman is facing a felony charge for a shooting that police say was unintentional...but negligent. it happened yesterday morning in the area of sam's castle on mirador terrace. when police arrived on scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. he was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition this morning. police arrested

54-year-old linda miles for the shooting. (tiffany) a public water taink in the north bay must be drained after vandals broke through a chain link fence that was guarding it. it happened friday night in novato. police responded to an alarm at the north marin water district. when offciers arrived they found that somebody had broken in. there is currently no evidence of contaminationbut nearly 300 thousand gallons of water must be drained from the tank and replaced to ensure public safety. (tiffany) a popular restaurant in the east bay will be closed for while after a grease fire in the kitchen spread to the roof. it happened at the texas roadhouse in union city. no one was hurt but the building was significantly damaged. all of the employees were able to get out safely. the exact cause is under investigation. planning a huge expansion of their silicon valley headquarters in menlo park. the proposed village would occupy fifty nine acres and will offer several benefits to the public. kron 4's tech reporter gabe slate gives us a closer look.

facebook wants to expand it's menlo park headquarters by almost 2 million square feet of office space.the added complex will be built here just a block away to the west from their existing location on the other side of highway 84here's a look from the ground most of their new complex will be here at the former menlo science & technology park off willow road. these buildings that facebook already owns will be torn down to make room

at london's camden market. it happened earlier this morning local time at the tourist destination. about 70 firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control. nobody was hurt in the fire. the market was hit by a serious fire in 2008 when the nearby camden canal market was destroyed.

(tiffany) a driver in kansas is expected to be okay after crashing his pickup into a television station . take a look. you can see what's left of the k-a-k-e news station in wichita. police say the driver had a medical incident. he had a coughing spree while behind the wheel..and blacked out. staff inside the studio say they heard the loud crash.

(tiffany) security guards will monitor the building until repairs are made. (tiffany) this morning we are learning more information on actor shia labeouf's recent arrest. he was taken into custody in savannah, georgia early saturday. labeouf was on location filming his latest movie, "peanut butter falcon." according to police, he approached a man and an officer, asking them for a cigarette. police said when he wasn't given the cigarette, he started yelling obscenities and displaying aggressive behavior toward the officer. police said they asked him to leave the area and he refused. he also reportedly ran away from the officer who was trying to take him into custody. labeouf has been charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction and public drunkenness. labeouf was arrested earlier this year for misdemeanor assault at an anti donald trump rally.

(tiffany) a wounded police officer in louisiana is suing the black lives matter group. he claims the group is responsible for last year's ambush on officers in baton rouge. two police officers and a sheriff's deputy were killed int eh attack last july. the attack also injured two deputies and another officer. the lawsuit claims that black lives matter and it's leaders are responsible for the shooting because they quote " incited the violence" against police it also claims that the group did nothing to dissuade the ongoing violence against police officers. friday's massive fire at a construction site in oakland.( darya ) arson investigators will be back out at the scene this morning. kron 4's will tran is live at the scene with the latest. will. ( will ) investigators are back on the scene of the latest oakland construction fire searching for clues. we first brought you the story on the kron four morning news on friday. many evacuees returned home yesterday. about 900 people were displaced by the massive construction fire on valdez street early friday morning. all but two buildings have been cleared for reentry as p-g-and-e crews restore power that was cut off after the fire. this is the third fire this year at a construction site in the area causing concern from some people that this could be the

( mark ) and police are still looking for the arsonist linked to three fires involving apartment buildings under construction in the east bay. federal investigators have released these pictures of the person they are looking for in connection to those fires. they believe this person is responsible for three other fires similar to the fire that burned this past friday. this is video of those fires. two of the three burned at the same apartment building that was under construction in emeryville. the most recent fire there was in may. the third fire was last october near lake merritt. the building that caught fire was also under construction. all of these fires caused millions of dollars worth of damage. (tiffany) firefighters in contra costa county have contained a grass fire burning in rodeo . the fire started saturday afternoon near springwood court and california street. it quickly spread to more than 350 acres. the flames at one point were coming just feet away from the rodeo refinery. no structures were damaged and no body was injured. and crews in butte county are dealing with the wall fire. that fire has burned more than 5- thousand acres. it is just 25 percent contained. governor jerry brown has issued a state of emergency for the county. more than 5-thousand buildings are still being threatened. dozens of people have been forced to evacuate. now many are wondering if they will have a

( darya ) two men are behind bars this morning after an officer-involved shooting in vallejo. it happened on saturday afternoon when police found two carjacking suspects at city park. there was a brief foot chase when one of the men pulled out a gun. the officer fried his gun... but didn't hit anyone. one of the men then hid in a shed. he later surrendered when the swat team arrived. during this incident, an officer is accused of using a racial slur. someone living in the area says they recorded the officer using the slur while talking to the men. that officer has been placed on leave while the department investigates. ( mark ) happening today... congresswoman jackie spier will announce a 50-thousand dollar reward for information that helps find the person who killed a student playing pokemon go. the shooting happened in august of last year. 20-year old calvin riley was playing the game with his friends near aquatic park in san francisco when he was shot and killed. police have said they have no information on the shooter. the reward is being paid for by the city of san francisco. vandals broke through a chain link fence guarding a public water tank in novato and now all of the water has to be drained out. it happened friday night. police say an alarm attached to the north marin water district tank went off. this is in a remote area of northwest novato. officials arrived and found that somebody had broken in. there is currently no evidence of contaminationbut nearly 300 thousand gallons of water must be drained from the tank and replaced to ensure public safety. in the east bay ... a popular restaurant will be closed for while after a

grease fire in the kitchen spread to the roof of the building... it happened at the texas roadhouse restaurant in union city. no one was hurt but the building was damaged. all of the employees managed to get out of the building before firefighters arrived. ( darya ) a wounded police officer in louisiana is suing the black lives matter group. he claims the group is responsible for last year's ambush on officers in baton rouge. two police officers and a sheriff's deputy were killed int eh attack last july. the attack also injured two deputies and another officer. the lawsuit claims that black lives matter and it's leaders are responsible for the shooting because they incited the violence against police it also claims that the group did

(tiffany) this stabbing just before one this morning. police say one man was stabbed on center street near berkeley city college. the victim is in stable condition. police have arrested the attacker. that person is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon. their name has not been released. police are still trying to determine if the people knew each other prior to the stabbing, and what might have sparked the violence. i have reached out to berkeley police for more information. i will bring that to you as soon as it comes into the newsroom. back to you in the studio.

( mark ) more evacuations have been ordered following friday's massive fire at a construction site in oakland.( darya ) arson investigators will be back out at the scene this morning. kron 4's will tran is live at the scene with the latest. will. ( will ) investigators are back on the scene of the latest oakland construction fire searching for clues. we first brought you the story on the kron four morning news on friday. many evacuees returned home yesterday. about 900 people were displaced by the massive construction fire on valdez street early friday morning. all but two buildings have been cleared for reentry as p-g-and-e crews restore power that was cut off after the fire. this is the third fire this year at a construction site in the area causing concern from some people that this could be the work of an arsonist.

emeryville. the most recent fire there was in may. the third fire was last october near lake merritt. the building that caught fire was also under construction. all of these fires caused millions of dollars worth of damage. ( darya ) the san jose police department is investigating a deadly stabbing. the attacker is still on the loose. it happened yesterday morning on south second street. a man was found suffering from at least one stab wound. he was taken to the hospitalwher e he died. the woman suspected of the crime has not been caught. ( darya ) happening today... lawyers for the city of oakland will appear in court over a sex scandal that has rocked the city's police department. civil rights lawyers say a federal judge should consider holding city officials in contempt of court for mishandling the investigation. several officers are accused of sexually exploiting a woman named jasmin abuslin. today lawyers will discuss a report that says the mayor and city administrator did not do enough to investigate the scandal more thoroughly.

oakland has agreed to pay nearly one- million dollars to settle abuslin's lawsuit against the city. first incident happened saturday morning at lake shasta in shasta county. a seven-year-old boy from salinas died while vacationing on a houseboat with his parents. it happened on the mccloud river arm of the lake. the boy was playing as his parents were trying to fix their boat and make breakfast. the couple then saw the boy's flip flops floating in the water near the back of the boat. a search team later found the boy's body. he was not wearing a lifejacaked and was not required to by law. sheriff's officials say anyone playing on or near the water is encouraged to wear a lifejacket. the second incident happened on the russian river in sonoma county. a man went under the water near steelhead beach regional park yesterday afternoon. the body of the 19-year-old man was found late last night. his name has not yet been released. ( mark ) family and friends gathered to honor the victims of the deadly shooting at a u-p-s facility in san francisco.( darya ) three

when one of the men pulled out a gun. the officer fried his gun... but didn't hit anyone. one of the men then hid in a shed. he later surrendered when the swat team arrived. during this incident, an officer is accused of using a racial slur. someone living in the area says they recorded the officer using the slur while talking to the men. that officer has been placed on leave while the department investigates. ( darya ) hayward police are looking for a gunman after a man was killed over the weekend. it happened saturday night on hill avenue. police found a 19- year-old man dead from multiple gunshot wounds. right now there is no description of any of the shooters. ( mark ) the nation's homeownership rate appears to be stablizing, but african americans are not sharing in the recovery. that is according to a new report from harvard university. it showed that black homeownership rate of 42 percent was nearly 30 percentage points lower than that of whites in 20-16. the disparity between

( darya ) happening today... congresswoman jackie spier will announce a 50-thousand dollar reward for information that helps find the person who killed a student playing pokemon go. the shooting happened in august of last year. 20-year old calvin riley was playing the game with his friends near aquatic park in san francisco when he was shot and killed. police have said they have no information on the shooter. the reward is being paid for by the city of san francisco. ( darya ) vandals broke through a chain link fence guarding a public water tank in novato and now all of the water has to be drained out. it happened friday night. police say an alarm attached to the north marin water district tank went off. this is in a remote area of

northwest novato. officials arrived and found that somebody had broken in. there is currently no evidence of contaminationbut nearly 300 thousand gallons of water must be drained from the tank and replaced to ensure public safety. ( mark ) in the east bay ... a popular restaurant will be closed for while after a grease fire in the kitchen spread to the roof of the building... it happened at the texas roadhouse restaurant in union city. no one was hurt but the building was damaged. all of the employees managed to get out of the building before firefighters arrived. ( mark ) the whittier fire burning in santa barbara county is just five percent contained this morning. fire officials say it has destroyed nearly 20 structures along highway 154. so far it has burned 78-hundred acres. mandatory evacuation orders and warnings were issued for people who live near the fire. ( mark ) and now air quality warnings have been issued in two southern california counties...due to smoke and ash from the growing alamo fire. the wildfire has torched 23-thousand acres near santa maria and is just

( mark ) this morning we are learning more information about actor shia labeouf's recent arrest. he was taken into custody in savannah, georgia early saturday. labeouf was on location filming his latest movie, "peanut butter falcon." according to police, he approached a man and an officer, asking them for a cigarette. police said when he wasn't given the cigarette, he started yelling obscenities and displaying aggressive behavior toward the officer. police said they asked him to leave the area and he refused. he also reportedly ran away from the officer who was trying to take him into custody. labeouf has been charged with disorderly conduct. i'm mark danon. that breaking news we are following this morning... police on the scene of a deadly shooting in san francisco.( darya ) kron 4's lydia pantazes is at the scene. lydia what do we know. (lydia)we know that the body of the man still has not been moved.you see investigators behind me in front of el farolito bar....police say responded to a call of a shooting at 2:30 this morning and that's about the time the bar closes.investigators say the male victim died of an apparent gun shot wound. this is a homicide investigation but so far no arrests have been made.police are asking for the publication help.if you have any information on this shooting call the san francisco police department and you can remain anonymous. reporting live in san francisco lydia pantazes kron4 news.
