francisco. the baby was later found safe on a muni bus in san francisco's vis- i-ta-cion valley neighborhood yesterday. kron4's ella sogomonian spoke with people who witnessed the crime unfold. a father looked away to prepare a bottle for his baby girl waiting in the car when his daughter was snatched by a stranger. a witness who wished to remain anonymous describes the tense moments sot: witness// "i know the father acted like he was blaming himself for it. he was walking up and down this street just sobbing very distraught."it happened here at columbia park in san francisco just before 9 am on sunday.parent stephanie jones who frequents the park was disturbed by the news but not surprised.sot: stephanie jones, parent// "i've had people follow me and my son around a lot."police say a witness saw the suspect get onto a muni bus with the baby girl.a city wide alert was issued. muni officials say police reported the bus number. so they contacted the driver and told them to stop.in less than an hour the baby was rescued at this bus stop at bayshore and arleta.sot: stephanie jones, parent// "it's absolutely terrifying. part of me is unfortunately

not that surprised. because some parents don't really pay attention to their kids a lot. and i know it can happen to anyone but it's so scary."the woman was found with the baby in her arms.she was arrested and booked for kidnapping.the baby was unharmed but taken to a hospital just to be sure. ( tiffany ) a 16-year-old boy is dead after being hit by a car while riding his bike in vallejo. the crash happened thursday on columbus parkway just south of georgia street. the teenager and his dad were riding their bikes when they were hit by a car. the car dragged the teenager about 100 feet. the teenager died yesterday from his injuries. the boy's father was also innjured, but is expected to be okay. officers are investigating whether drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash. ( tiffany ) happening now... police are searching for a man who robbed a woman near the u-c berkeley campus. it happened near the intersection of dana street and durant avenue early

yesterday morning. the man grabbed the woman, stole her property then drove off. police say the car may have had three other people in it. the car is described is described as an older sedan, possibly a ford taurus. ( james ) new this morning... three kids were arrested after attacking someone on bart and trying to rob them. it happened at the daly city bart station at around 10:30 last night. the three kids tried to rob someone of their cellphone by punching them. trains were temporarily stopped at the station. police detained the three kids and they were taken to juvenile hall. ( james ) in the east bay... we are learning new information about the teen found dead near train tracks in hayward. 18-year-old isaac andino was hit and killed by an amtrak train on friday afternoon. that is according to the alameda county coroner. isaac's family said he went for a run that day and never came home. his body was found saturday near the train tracks. it's unclear what happened in the final moments before isaac's death. ( james ) also out of the east bay... nine people are recovering this morning after a wrong-way driver

crashed into a van full of people and children on highway four. the youngest victim was just one-year-old.( tiffany ) kron four's spencer blake reports that the car that caused the accident was also stolen. (helicopter)even the whir of helicopters(baby's cry) couldn't drown out the cries of babies who had just survived a horrific, head-on collision."one vehicle overturned off to the side of the road. one vehicle was a van full of people and children."both a one-year-old girl and a two-year-old girl were in the now mangled minivan - two of seven unsuspecting victims.they had been heading west, away from the streets of brentwood mallwhen this gold car came speeding the wrong way, and slammed into the van."we seen the cop's helicopters coming in as we were leaving out." (nats)gurney after gurney took patients to get help. "we have multiple trauma victims that went to trauma centers - two by helicopter and multiple patients by ground."part of the freeway was closed for hours."it was backed up. we couldn't see much of what was going on, but we could see a few cop cars and what not." aside from the babies, one man, two women, and a young girl in the van had minor to moderate injuries.another woman had major injuries but is in stable condition at a

hospital in walnut creek. (reporter)as officers investigated further, they found out the driver of the suspect's car, rafael duarte, did more than just drive the wrong way.they say he was also under the influence.and the car he was driving, was stolen from concord earlier in the day.duarte is facing charges for all of those accusations, along with some others.his passenger had major injuries, and is in stable condition. duarte himself had minor injuries, and c-h-p arrested him as soon as he got out of the hospitaland booked him into jail in martinez.in brentwood, spencer blake, kron four news. ( tiffany ) one of the 16 people killed in a military plane crash in mississippi was a u-c davis graduate. captain sean elliot was one of the plane's pilots when it crashed last monday. elliot joined

the marines eight years ago. 15 marines and one navy sailor were on the plane when it plunged 20-thousand feet into a soybean field in mississippi. the plane was going to make a stop in arizona and eventually end up in el centro, california. the cause of the crash is unknown. ( tiffany ) we are learning new information about what led up to a three car crash on interstate 6-80 in pleasant hill. it happened just after 8:30 saturday night near monument boulevard. c-h-p officers say the driver of one car swerved to avoid some debris and instead crashed into another car. that car then crashed into another. two people were transported to a burn center. no word on their condition this morning. ( james ) happening now... fire crews are investigating what caused two homes to catch fire in bay point. this is video from the scene. it happened near the corner of north street and franklin avenue at around 10:30 saturday night. fire crews were able to put out both fires. there are no reports of any injuries. possible delay to the senate's consideration of a republican bill to repeal and replace the affordable care act. the congressional budget office was scheduled to release an analysis today on the latest g- o-p bill. it would include the estimated cost and scope of insurance coverage. the senate budget committee announced yesterday that the release is now postponed. they did not give an explanation as to why, or when the analysis is expected to be released. several republican senators have expressed their concerns with the new bill. ( james ) this also comes after senator majority leader mitch mcconnell said he was delaying the senate vote this week as senator john mccain recovers from surgery. mccain is recovering this week at his home in arizona. county... the alamo fire has burned more than 28- thousand acres and destroyed one home. it is now 98- percent contained. the whittier fire has burned over 18 thousand acres. it started last saturday and at least 16 homes and 30 other buildings have been destroyed. containment is now at 49 percent. more than 16-hundred firefighters are battling the fire that forced hundreds of people to evacuate. .... ( tiffany @ land ) peole in oroville first had to deal with the failure of the oroville dam's spillway... and now a recent wildfire has forced thousands to evacuate. reporter eric rucker is in oroville with how people are coping. yvonne ogletree/ oroville resident "you've got 15 minutes pack it up and go, i'm like what do i take"it has already been a long 2017 for oroville residents.stephanie ellis, oroville resident "maybe we'll get all the bad stuff out of the way this year, it'll be better next year...i don't know"it started back in february when the entire town was evacuated as officials feared a major failure to the spillway at the oroville dam.then last week...

( james ) happening today... a memorial service will be held for the man who died in a plane crash in sonoma county. 38-year-old william sachs goldman was a professor at the university of san francisco. he died when the plane he was flying crashed thursday. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. today's memorial service will start at 10:00 at the nourse theater on hayes street in san francisco. ( james ) investigators area also trying to figure out what caused a crop dusting plane to crash in a vineyard near kenwood. according to the sheriff's office, the plane went down near highway 12 and dunbar road. according to the sheriff's office, the pilot walked away from the crash uninjured. boy is missing after a group of people got swept up in a deadly flash flood in arizona so far nine people died at a popular swimming hole called, cold springs in the tonto national forest. witnesses say there was no warning before the wall of water rushed down. the sheriff's office says all of the victims are among a group of family and friends who came to spend the day on the water. the victims range in age from a 60-year-old woman to a 2-year-old girl. ( tiffany ) happening today... work begins to repair a section of morgan territory road in clayton that was damaged during winter storms. the repair work is expected to be completed in mid-october. the road has been closed since february. during the construction period, the damaged stretch of morgan territory road will be completely closed to cars, pedestrians and bicyclists. a temporary, alternate access is available for people in the area. ( james ) in santa cruz... more than ten thousand needles have been found in

public spaces over the past five years. the 'take back santa cruz needles soulutions team' has tracked the location and collection of needles over the past 55 months. during this time 14-thousand needles have been found. according to city workers 12 people been accidentally stuck by a needle including six children. the needles are popping up in more populated areas including beaches, parks and near schools. ( james ) police say two cousins lured four young men to a farm to sell them marijuana and then killed them in pennsylvania. cosmo dinardo and sean krats are facing homicide charges after digging out the bodies at the farm. dinardo's lawyer says he will plead guilty after confessing. community members gathered last night to remember the four young men. "tonight night we will share in a collective message of healing and hope..." hundreds, if not a thousand or so people in bucks county gathered for a candlelight vigil...at the garden of reflection in lower

makefield. a 9/11 memorial site... originally built to be a place where overwhelming loss could be soothed. "be not afraid, this evening we gather as a community, asking god to grant us peace, strength, consolation, and hope." this community... collectively grieving the loss of four young men, who were shot, buried... murdered on this farm in solebury township. these young men: dean finocchiaro, tom meo, mark sturgis, and jimi tar patrick. dominic vanucci: "it hurts for everybody. everybody is just heartbroken. it's just a shock to everybody. everybody was just like wow we just lost a best friend. " dominic vanucci is a friend of one of the murdered men.he's one of many friends grieving here. the family of those killed quietly attended the vigil, but did not wish to speak. the vast majority of those here though are just people in the community who have been overwhelmed by these murders. amber borders: "it's hard especially with having him, all i want to do is hug him and hold him. i can't imagine any parent losing their child especially like this." together this crowd in bucks county... united in prayer ... --nats--and song.--nats--to start the process of soothing the grief.

the kron four morning news. i'm tracking your entertainment headlines ( robin @ land ) legendary horror movie director george romero died at 77-years-old. romero has been called the father of modern horror flicks. he may be best known for his first feature film, "night of the living dead", which many consider the blueprint for today's zombie movies. romero later followed up with a number of sequels and a remake of the original. romero had been battling lung cancer. he is survived by his wife and three children. ( robin @ land ) hollywood is also mourning the death of oscar-winning actor martin landau. known for his role in the "mission impossible" t-v series. landau died at 89-years-old of unexpected complicatoins during a short stay at u-c-l-a medical center. landau was the crafty master of disguise for the t-v version of mission impossible.... then capped a long and versatile career with an oscar for his role in 1994's 'ed wood'.

who saw the whole thing unfold. let's take a look at that.this happened last night just before midnightat the intersection of eden and payne. that's near the san jose and campbell border.police say the victim suffered at least one gunshot wound.she was transported to a local hospital and treated for non lifethreatening injuries. people who live nearby say crime appears to be happening more frequently in their neighbhborhood.they say for a long time, it was pretty quiet but now these shootings happen every once in a while.we spoke to neighbors who say it's frightening.but they didn't want to talk on camera because the suspects are still at large.and they were afraid of retaliation.the victim has not been identified and we don't have any details on her injuries. (hermela aregawi)at this point police haven't released any information about the suspects but we'll continue to follow the story and bring you the details as they become available. reporting in hermela aregawi, kron 4. news ( james ) and happening today... bart will launch a new pilot program to test a clipper-card only entrance. that entrance will be open this morning at the downtown berkeley station. the entrance will be near allston way east. the program is

( james ) investigators are releasing new information about a near disaster at s-f-o. an air canada flight came dangerously close to landing on a busy taxiway instead of the runway. investigators say the lighting on the runway should have made pilots aware of the potential disaster. runways are edged with rows of white lights, and another system of lights on the side of the runway helps guide pilots on their descent. by contrast, taxiways have blue lights on the edges and green lights down the center. safety experts say that should have prompted the crew to stop their approach long before they did. ( james ) drivers on one street in the east bay are not following the rules.( tiffany ) in fact, it is so bad that it attracted the attention of kron four's stanley roberts. if you happen to be on 5th street in west oakland between aderline and market street you will get .well let's just say an eyeful nats: ambiance if it's not an lyft driving the wrong way it might be a big rig rolling down the street either dropping off trailers or picking them up nats: ambiance which probably wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that there are restrictions on ths street like no trucks weighing over 4.5 tons to put it in perspective the average car weighs 5 thousand pounds or 2.5 tons if that in anyway, helps your math. since i'm not expert on truck weight. i thought id ask a truck driver how much your truck weigh? ready to go... you can see the barriers and traffic signs are up warning people that road work will start... the sinkhole is located on rheem boulevard at center street near moraga road. the repairs will begin today and run through october 7, 2017. during this time, the two-lane section of rheem boulevard at center street, near moraga road, will be closed to all traffic while the sinkhole is being repaired. crews are even going to work saturday and extended hours to help get the repairs done before the rainy season starts. the sinkhole formed in march 2016. you may remember people who live here were so frustrated that they threw the sinkhole a "not so happy birthday party. the town approved a $3.3 million dollar fix to the sinkhole in may of 2016 but repairs were delayed following some red tape in the federal aid funding approval process. ( mark ) nine people are recovering this morning after a wrong-way driver crashed into a van full of people and children. the youngest victim is one-year-old. the van was heading west when a speeding car slammed into it yesterday on highway 4 in brentwood. police say the car that hit the van was reported stolen in concord earlier in the day. the also say the man driving under the influence. the driver was arrested. along with the one-year-old... a two- year-old girl was also injured. both are expected to be okay. one woman did suffer major injuries. she is in stable condition this morning. ( mark ) a 16-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car while riding his bike in vallejo. the crash happened thursday on columbus parkway just south of georgia street. the teenager and his dad were riding their bikes when they were hit by a car. the car dragged the teenager about 100 feet. the teenager died yesterday

from his injuries. the boy's father was also injured but is expected to be okay. ( darya ) happening today... a memorial service will be held for the man who died in a plane crash in sonoma county. 38-year-old william sachs goldman was a professor at the university of san francisco. he died when the plane he was flying crashed thursday. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. today's memorial service will start at 10 o'clock at the nourse theater on hayes street in san francisco. ( darya ) investigators are also trying to figure out what caused a crop dusting plane to crash in a vineyard near kenwood. the plane went down near highway 12 and dunbar road. the pilot walked away from the crash uninjured. ( darya ) new this morning... three kids were arrested after attacking a passanger on bart and trying to rob them. it happened at the daly city bart station at around 10:30 last night. the three kids punched somebody and tried to take their cell phone. trains

(tiffany) that baby was found safe on a muni bus. this happened yesterday morning at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood. the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. a witness saw a woman get onto a muni bus with the baby. in less than an hour, the child was rescued at a bus stop in the visitacion valley neighborhood parents who go to that park say they are not surprised it happened there.

( mark ) this morning we have new information about the teen found dead near train tracks in hayward. he is identified as 18-year-old isaac andino. he was hit and killed by an amtrak train on friday afternoon. isaac's family said he went for a run that day and never came home. his body was found saturday near the train tracks. swimming hole in the tonto national forest, just 90 miles north of phoenix. witnesses say there was no warning before the 6-foot high wall of water rushed down. crews have since recovered nine bodies... five of them were children. the sheriff's office says all of the victims are from a group of family and friends who came to spend the weekend on the water. the victims range in age from two to 60 years old. crews will resume the search for the man later today. four family members were rescued saturday afternoon. they were taken to the hospital with hypothermia. the national weather service says, "that" area of arizona received more than an inch and a half of rain in an hour. and it was "that" rain that triggered the flash flood. back to you in the studio. . ( mark ) happening today... work begins to repair a section of morgan territory road in clayton that was damaged during the winter storms. the repair work is expected to be completed in mid-october. the road has

been closed since february. during the construction period, the damaged stretch of morgan territory road will be completely closed to cars, pedestrians and bicyclists. a temporary, alternate access is available for people who live in the area. ( darya ) a sinkhole that swallowed two homes and a boat in florida has stopped growing. we first showed you this sinkhole live on the kron 4 morning news on friday. the giant sinkhole is 250 feet wide and 50 feet deep. at least 11 homes have been evacuated. crews are holding a 2-hundred foot perimeter from the edge. they will continue to monitor the sinkhole before determining when cleanup can begin. ( mark ) fire crews are making progress containing two major wildfires burning across california. first is the alamo fire in san luis obispo county. that fire has burned more than 28-thousand acres and destroyed one home. the fire is almost completey out with a 98 percent containment this morning. ( mark ) and the whittier

fire burning in santa barbara county has grown to more than 18-thousand acres. that fire started more than a week ago. it has destroyed a dozen homes and nearly three dozen other buildings. that fire is now at 49 percent containment. more than a thousand firefighters are still working to contain the fire. (tiffany) at this point, police aren't releasing a lot of information about the shooting. but here is what we do know. this happened just before midnight on saturday. this is video of the scene from a witness. this is at the intersection of eden and payne. police say the victim suffered at least one gunshot wound.she was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. people who live nearby say crime appears to be happening more frequently in their neighborhood. they didn't want to talk on camera because the shooter is still on the loose... and they're afraid of retaliation. at this point police haven't released any information about the suspect,

( mark ) and happening today... bart will launch a new pilot program to test a clipper-card only entrance. that entrance will be open this morning at the downtown berkeley station. the entrance will be near allston way east. the program is meant to gauge public interest in the clipper only entrance. bart officials are also hoping the entrance will help with crowding problems. the entrance is also being used to test a new design meant to stop people who try to avoid paying their fares. ( mark ) investigators are releasing new information about a near disaster at s-f-o. an air canada flight came dangerously close to landing on a busy taxiway instead of the runway. airport officials say the lighting on the runway should have made pilots aware of the potential disaster. runways are edged with rows of white lights, and another system of lights on the side of the runway helps guide pilots on their descent. by contrast, taxiways have blue lights on the edges and green

lights down the center. safety experts say that should have prompted the crew to stop their approach long before they did. ( darya ) berkeley police are looking for the people involved in a shooting near the cal campus. three people were injured. the shooting happened near the corner of durant avenue and bow-ditch street. police say two groups of men got into a fight and then people started shooting. the shooters ran off but police managed to arrest two people. the victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. ( darya ) a couple is arrested after an hours long standoff with police in mountain view. officers got called to a fight inside a house on hope street near sierra avenue. police say the couple refused to leave the home or even speak to police. police then issued a shelter-in-place and called in the swat team. five hours later... the couple finally agreed to come out of the home peacefully. both were arrested. ( mark ) happening now... fire crews are trying to

figure out what caused two homes to catch fire in bay point. this is video from the scene. it happened near the corner of north street and franklin avenue. fire crews were able to put out both fires. nobody was injured. ( mark ) one of the 15 marines killed in a military plane crash in mississippi was a u-c davis graduate. captain sean elliot was one of the plane's pilots when it crashed last monday. elliot joined the marines eight years ago. 15 marines and one navy sailor were on the plane when it fell 20-thousand feet into a soybean field in mississippi. the plane was going to make a stop in arizona and eventually end up in el centro, california. investigators have not determined what caused the crash. ( darya ) there is another delay to the u-s senate's efforts to repeal and replace the affordable care act. the congressional budget office was scheduled to release an analysis today on the latest republican bill. it would include the estimated cost of insurance coverage. the senate budget committee announced yesterday that the release is now postponed. they did

( darya ) a scary situation for an orlando man after a seven-thousand pound pipe falls off an overpass and lands on his van. a recycling truck loaded down with scrap metal was traveling on the overpass above when the driver lost control. the truck hit the guardrail and overturned. the crash sent the metal pipe over the guardrail and down 40 feet landing right on top of the man's van.

( darya ) in santa cruz... more than ten thousand needles have been found in public spaces over the past five years. the 'take back santa cruz needles solutions team' has tracked the location and collection of needles over the years. according to city workers 12 people have been accidentally stuck by a

( mark ) legendary horror movie director george romero died at 77-years-old. romero has been called the father of modern horror films. he may be best known for his first feature film, "night of the living dead", which many consider the blueprint for today's zombie movies. romero later followed up with a number of sequels and a remake of the original. romero had been battling lung cancer. he is survived by his wife and three children. ( mark ) fans are also mourning the death of oscar-winning actor martin landau. he is best known for his role in the "mission impossible" t-v series. landau died of unexpected complications during a short stay at u-c-l-a medical center. landau was the crafty master of disguise for the t-v version of mission impossible. he then capped a long career with an oscar for his role in 1994's 'ed wood'. he had just celebrated his 89th birthday.

( mark ) community members gathered last night to remember the four young men. alicia nieves has the latest. "tonight night we will share in a collective message of healing and hope..." hundreds, if not a thousand or so people in bucks county gathered for a candlelight vigil...at the garden of reflection in lower makefield. a 9/11 memorial site... originally built to be a place where overwhelming loss could be soothed. ( mark ) a 16-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car while riding his bike in vallejo. the crash happened thursday on columbus parkway just south of georgia street. the teenager and his dad were riding their bikes when they were hit by a car. the car dragged the teenager about 100 feet. the teenager died yesterday from his injuries. the boy's father was also injured but is expected to be okay. (mark) happening today... a memorial service will be held for the man who died in a plane crash in sonoma county.

38-year-old william sachs goldman was a professor at the university of san francisco. he died when the plane he was flying crashed thursday. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. today's memorial service will start at 10 o'clock at the nourse theater on hayes street in san francisco. (mark) investigators are also trying to figure out what caused a crop dusting plane to crash in a vineyard near kenwood. the plane went down near highway 12 and dunbar road. the pilot walked away from the crash uninjured. (darya) new this morning... three kids were arrested after attacking a passanger on bart and trying to rob them. it happened at the daly city bart station at around 10:30 last night. the three kids punched somebody and tried to take their cell phone. trains were temporarily stopped at the station. police detained the three kids and they were taken to juvenile hall. today... bart will launch a new pilot program to test a clipper-card only entrance. that entrance is open this morning at the downtown berkeley station. the entrance will be near allston way east. the program is meant to gauge public interest in the clipper only entrance. bart officials are also hoping the entrance will help with crowding problems. the entrance is also being used to test a new design meant to stop people who try to avoid paying their fares. (mark) a woman is behind bars after a baby is kidnapped and later found safe on a muni bus in san francisco. it happened yesterday morning at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood. the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. a witness saw a woman get onto a muni bus with the baby. in less than an hour, the child was rescued at a bus stop in the visitacion valley neighborhood parents who go to that park say they are not surprised it happened there.

(darya) this morning we have new information about the teen found dead near train tracks in hayward. he is identified as 18-year-old isaac andino. he was hit and killed by an amtrak train on friday afternoon. isaac's family said he went for a run that day and never came home. his body was

(tiffany) that 27-year-old was with a group of people who were swimming at a popular swim hole in the tonto national forest 90 miles north of phoenix. witnesses say there was no warning before the 6-foot high wall of water rushed down. crews have since recovered nine bodies... five of them were children. the sheriff's office says all of the victims are a group of family and friends who came to spend the weekend on the water. the victims range in age from two to 60 years old. crews will resume the search for the man later today. four family members were rescued saturday afternoon. and were taken to the hospital with hypothermia. the national weather service says that area of arizona received more than an inch and a half of rain in an hour. and that it was "that" rain that triggered the flash flood. back to you in the studio. . ( mark ) a sinkhole that swallowed two homes and a boat in florida has stopped growing.

we first showed you this sinkhole live on the kron 4 morning news on friday. the giant sinkhole is 250 feet wide and 50 feet deep. at least 11 homes have been evacuated. crews are holding a 2-hundred foot perimeter from the edge. they will continue to monitor the sinkhole before determining when cleanup can begin. ( mark ) happening today... work begins to repair a section of morgan territory road in clayton that was damaged during the winter storms. the repair work is expected to be completed in mid-october. the road has been closed since february. during the construction period, the damaged stretch of morgan territory road will be completely closed to cars, pedestrians and bicyclists. a temporary, alternate access is available for people who live in the area. (darya) firefighters are battling two wildfires in northern and central california that are sending people fleeing from their homes. a 1000-acre blaze

sparked yesterday afternoon near lake mcclure, a reservoir about 50 miles east of modesto. an evacuation order is in effect for homes near the lake. and a 400- acre wildfire in mendocino county has triggered an evacuation in the community of redwood valley after the fire jumped a road. (darya) and fire crews are making progress containing two other major wildfires burning across california. first is the alamo fire in san luis obispo county. that fire has burned more than 28- thousand acres and destroyed one home. the fire is 98 percent contained this morning. (darya) and the whittier fire burning in santa barbara county has grown to more than 18-thousand acres. that fire started more than a week ago. it has destroyed a dozen homes and nearly three dozen other buildings. that fire is now at 49 percent containment. more than a thousand firefighters are still working to contain the fire. on a vote today could give another decade of life to the expiring cap-and-trade program. this comes as the state looks to be a model for reducing carbon emissions at a time when president trump is pulling back from fighting global warming. governor jerry brown says the legislation is essential for the survival of civilization. the program puts a price on carbon to create an incentive for polluters to reduce their emissions and save money. governor brown has struggled to line up support from the two-thirds of lawmakers needed to pass. (mark) a mother and her young children are recovering this morning after being hit by a truck. it happened yesterday afternoon in sacramento. the mother was pushing a stroller with her two children inside crossing a busy street. police say the family was not inside the crosswalk when they were hit. officers say the driver was not at fault. (darya) police in ohio find one million dollars worth of marijuana inside some new ford fusions. the cars were made in mexico and shipped to a ford dealership in ohio. police are still trying to determine who put the drugs in the cars. this isn't the first time this has happened. police in minnesota also found pot in ford fusions that were also built in mexico. ( mark ) breaking news... chp has just issued an amber alert for a one year old boy who has been abducted.( darya ) kron 4's tiffany mcelroy is at the breaking news desk with the (tiffany) police say the one year old boy was taken from soledad, california in monterey county. the toddler was last seen in the backseat of a white 19-92 honda accord with california license plate 6-r-g-b-0-6-1. the boy's name is emiliano salinas. he is described as an hispanic baby boy with black hair and brown eyes. he's 2 feet tall and weighs about 25 pounds. he was last seen wearing a black and white shirt and gray pants. police have not released a description of his abductor. police say if you see this boy or the car to call 9-1-1 immediately. back to you in the studio. . and payne. police say the victim suffered at least one gunshot wound. she was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. people who live nearby say crime appears to be happening more frequently in their neighborhood. at this point police haven't released any information about the gunman. ( mark ) investigators are releasing new information about a near disaster at s-f-o. an air canada flight came dangerously close to landing on a busy taxiway instead of the runway. airport officials say the lighting on the runway should have made pilots aware of the potential disaster. runways are edged with rows of white lights, and another system of lights on the side of the runway helps guide pilots on their descent. by contrast, taxiways have blue lights on the edges and green lights down the center. safety experts say that should have prompted the crew to stop their approach long before they ( darya ) berkeley police are looking for the people involved in a shooting near the cal campus. three people were injured. the

shooting happened near the corner of durant avenue and bow-ditch street. police say two groups of men got into a fight and then people started shooting. the shooters ran off but police managed to arrest two people. the victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. ( darya ) a couple is arrested after an hours long standoff with police in mountain view. officers got called to a fight inside a house on hope street near sierra avenue. police say the couple refused to leave the home or even speak to police. police then issued a shelter-in-place and called in the swat team. five hours later... the couple finally agreed to come out of the home peacefully. both were arrested. ( mark ) happening now... fire crews are trying to figure out what caused two homes to catch fire in bay point. this is video from the scene. it happened near the corner of north street and franklin avenue. fire crews were able to put out both fires. nobody was injured. ( mark ) one of the 15 marines killed in a military plane crash in mississippi was a u-c davis graduate. captain sean elliot was one of

the plane's pilots when it crashed last monday. elliot joined the marines eight years ago. 15 marines and one navy sailor were on the plane when it fell 20-thousand feet into a soybean field in mississippi. the plane was going to make a stop in arizona and eventually end up in el centro, california. investigators have not determined what caused the crash. (ááá2-shotááá)(darya) senate majority leader mitch mcconnell is facing another set-back in his fight to get rid of the affordable care act. after nearly six months in office, president trump's approval rating has dropped to 36 percent. and his disapproval rating is nearly 60 percent. the poll was released by the washington post. president trump took to twitter to respond to the poll saying that the washington post had one of the most inaccurate polls during the election. (darya) conservative commentator ann coulter is attacking delta airlines after she was removed form her seat. coulter posted on twitter saying she was ordered to move from her seat without any explanation. that's one of a series of tweets from coulter after she said the airline gave away her seat to another woman. coulter said she was upset about the seat change because she took the time to pre-book her seat. delta has responded say they would refund the money she paid to pre-book her seat. the company also said that her insults about delta employees were unacceptable and unnecessary. (mark) a scary situation for an orlando man after a seven-thousand pound pipe falls off an overpass and lands on his van.(darya) a recycling truck loaded down with scrap metal was traveling on the overpass above when the driver lost control. the truck hit the guardrail and overturned. the crash sent the metal pipe over the guardrail and down 40 feet landing right on top of the man's van. (darya) in santa cruz... more than ten thousand needles have been found in public spaces over the past five years. the 'take back santa cruz needles solutions team' has tracked the location and collection of needles over the years. according to city workers 12 people have been accidentally stuck by a needle including six children. officials say the needles are popping up in more populated areas including beaches, parks and near schools. (mark) legendary horror movie director george romero died at 77-years-old. romero has been called the father of modern horror films. he may be best known for his first feature film, "night of the living dead", which many consider the blueprint for today's zombie movies. romero later followed up with a number of sequels and a remake of the original. romero had been battling lung cancer. he is survived by his wife and three children. (mark) fans are also mourning the death of oscar-winning actor martin landau. he is best known for his role in the "mission impossible" t-v series.

landau died of unexpected complications during a short stay at u-c-l-a medical center. landau was the crafty master of disguise for the t-v version of mission impossible. he then capped a long career with an oscar for his role in 1994's 'ed wood'. he had just celebrated his 89th birthday.
