parole board in nevada will be deciding whether o-j simpson should be set free. he's been in prison for the last nine years. kron four's spencer blake spoke with a local attorney who shared his thoughts on how things might play out. "we the jury in the above entitled case find the defendant, orenthal james simpson, as follows: count one - conspiracy to commit a crime - guilty. count 2 - conspiracy to commit kidnapping - guilty." those verdicts came in 2008, the year after o-j simpson got involved with a sports memorabilia heist in las vegas. he and four other men broke into a hotel room to get the memorabilia, which simpson says belonged to him.he is now the last of the group left in prison.one of them served just over two years before getting released.the others made plea deals and only ever had parole. ( steve ) san francisco police say they are now patrolling twin peaks around the clock following the killing of a 71-year-old man on sunday. edward french was shot to death... police say two suspects came up to him and then took his camera. they are still on the loose tonight. but with the recent crimes in the area... police tell kron 4 there is a discussion about putting up surveillance cameras on twin peaks. (justine) in the east bay. police arrested a teenage boy on suspicion of killing a 20-year-old woman. police say back in may...allie sweitzer was shot multiple

times at booker t. anderson junior park in richmond. the incident... followed a heated argument with at least one man. sweitzer was taken to a hospital where she later died. a 15-year-old boy from el cerrito was arrested last night...in connectiion with the shooting. police have not released any information on the teenager. (steve) in bay area news. bart officials say they will explore all avenues to begin recruting police officers. this comes after word the transit agency has the money for dozens more. bart has confirmed their ranks are severely depleted. of the 181 officers on patrol... they are short 40 officers and the number of job applicants has dropped from nearly three thousand in 2013... to just under 700 this year. bart's new police chief says....he's stepping up recruitment efforts....and board members voiced support for that effort. (sot) "i hear all the time they want to see more officers on the trains and stations and parking lots and i recognize if you are understaffed that's a diffcult thing to accomplish so we need to give you the tools to do that" bart is currently

sinkhole. neighbors say a sinkhole opened up at the home five years ago. at that time engineers recommended a repair that would cost 150-thousand dollars... instead the previous owners went with a much cheaper plan which merely stabilized the structure. the engineer that stabilized the home filed an incorrect document saying the sinkhole was properly repaired. the home was listed for sale just a few months later. ( justine ) california's effort to fight global warming is painting a stark contrast tonight to the partisan politics we are familiar with in washington. eight republicans sided with governor jerry brown and cast their votes to keep the state's "cap and trade" law through 20-30. one assemblyman said they viewed it as a chance to put a conservative imprint on climate policy and give the republican party a fresh look. all that is needed is the governor's signature for the extension to kick in. the "cap and trade" law seeks to reduce california's carbon footprint.

again. doris payne was caught shoplifting at a walmart in an atlanta suburb. the 86-year-old has been arrested numerous times for stealing jewelry.... this time however it was for simply walking out of the store without paying. payne was reportedly spotted in san francisco a couple years ago... scoping out jewelry. she has a long criminal record that spans six decades. it is estimated she has stolen close 2-million dollars worth of gems during her criminal career. her life has been well documented and she said during an interview following an arrest last year...
