time. i told warden, that i would be no problem, and i was not a problem. i was a model inmate, no one better i was helpful to everybody. i am sorry to nevada. simpson recapped his entire version of the events that lead to his incarceration explaining why he participated in the crime to retrieve some of his personal items and memorabillia. simpson. i thought it good to get stuff back, but 9 years away from my family not worth it. when asked whether he was humbled by his time - and learned anything behind bars, simpson said yes. he appreciated his classes - one on conflict resolution and again, mentioning his family. simpson. "i have four kids. i have missed alot. i am a giving guy. i am at a point in my lfie, i want to spend as much time with my chldren and friends. i have done my tine and i have done my best. there was a light moment in the hearing - at the beginning when a commissioner made a mistake about o.j's birthday. "you recently turned 90 years old? i feel that way. sorry about that. let's take a few decades off that." in the end, it was oj smiling broadly, as he thanked the board, when they granted him release in the fall. simpson. thank you, thank you.

(grant) oj simpson could be released as early as october 1st. there is still work to be done though.(terisa) kron 4's j.r. stone is in carson city, nevada tonight where that parole board meeting was held. he joins us live. j.r. what does it look like out there tonight and what's next for o.j.? after making their decision today commissioners left the building pretty quickly and o.j. simpson went back to cell life. it appears that when he gets out he may be headed to florida. o.j. simpson was all smiles on thursday. but when it comes to getting back to florida, the state where he resided before the robbery, and the state where he will likely request to goit is a waiting game for simpson, who needs approval to go there.sot in florida when they do their investigation

they will make the determination of whether or not they will accept his case simpson has been vocal in the past about his desire to move back to florida. a location where his family would be able to serve as a support system for him. there are strong chances that officials in florida would accept a request from simpson according to those that spoke thursday.sot in the case of either a returning resident or resident family the acceptance rate as long as there is a valid plan of supervision is highnevada parole commissioners approved simpsons release saying he has a minimal criminal conviction history, has a positive record behind bars, and his own robbery victim is in support of his parole. factors that florida will look at if and when they officially receive his request to move there. they'll also look at what his family members said to the parole board.sot so on behalf of my family my brother my sister aunt uncle his friends we just want him to come home we really do we want him to come home and i know in my heart that he is very humbled.

the man killed in hayward yesterday while pushing his infant boy in a stroller... has been identified by the alameda county sheriff's office as 29-year-old daniel del-toro. kron four's philippe djegal reports from the scene of the crime... where a makeshift memorial has been setup to honor del-toro. (philippe)no name/neighbor- "he fell here. right like here. that's sad." as 29-year-old daniel del-toro's family light's candles and posts a picture of their loved one, where he passed away... a neighbor who wishes to remain private... says she heard at least three gunshots wednesday afternoon directly outside her home on willow avenue.no name/neighbor- "and,

(grant) from the south bay, kron four's rob fladeboe reports takes a look at the market for o.j. memorabelia. world of sports memorabelia owner tito hernandez searched his inventory this morning and came up with just one o.j. simpson item. a signed photo of o.j. that he thinks is probably worth a lot less now that simpson will soon be free. tito hernandez/world of sports memorabelia".....there just hasn't been much available in the past few years so what little was out there was getting higher and higher but now that he's getting out and can do mor signings, the value of his stuff is going to drop...."hernandez couldn't be pinned down on what the photo from simpson's days with the buffalo bills might be worth. the last simpson item he sold, a year ago, was a jersey that went for $300. but o.j. being back in the news is generating

the picture but not all of it." days after a woman was shot and killed by police in minnesota, the first details of what led to her death are finally coming to light. justine ruszczyk made two 911 calls saturday night to report a possible assault behind her home. ((vo of 911 transcripts))according to the transcripts of the calls released by the city, ruszczyk first called out of that a woman was being raped. she called again several minutes later when police had still not arrived. the operator assured her they were on their way.minutes later, ruszczyk was shot and killed by one of those officers.michael harrity and mohamed noor have been identified as the officers who responded to the call. noor is the one that fired his weapon. so far, harrity is the only one that has spoken to investigators.harrity says as he drove down the alley, a loud sound startled him. just then, ruszczyk approached his window. but why noor then fired his gun across his partner, through the driver's side door, striking ruszczyk, is still not clear. betsy hodges/ minneapolis mayor: "we cannot compel officer noor to

owes more money in penalties and costs over the emmissions scandal. california says the automaker has to pay another one-hundred-fifty-four- million dollars. that brings the total settlement to one-point-three-billion dollars. volkswagen officials acknowledge rigging 11-million cars with software to cheat on emissions tests. environmental regulators say some of the v-w cars emitted up to 40-times the allowed levels of unhealthy nitrous oxides when on the road. the one-point-three billion dollar settlement still has to be approved by courts. (terisa) a toddler has beaten the odds after nearly drowning in her family pool last feburary.. doctors believed she suffered fatal brain damage..but she is making a miraculous recovery. two-year old eden carlson snuck out of a baby gate at her new orleans home into the backyard.. her mom found her face down in the pool and immediately started c-p-r. eden's heart did ánotá beat on

(tes) a woman in north carolina got quite a surprise during her commute to work. take a look... a large snake slithered out of justyn knox's engine last week... while she was driving on a highway. the snake was in the hood of her car and she was worried it would get back in. she say's she was on her way to work...and was forced to call in late. (sot) luckily the snake eventually slithered away. knox later posted the video on social media-- and it has more than 15-thousand views.

( steve ) he is getting out of prison. after serving nine years for robbery and kidnapping... o-j simpson will taste freedom in just a matter of months. good evening... i'm steve aveson. and i'm terisa estacio... pam is off tonight. the saga that is the life of o-j simpson played out once again for all the world to see. the two-hour drama concluded with simpson being granted parole. kron 4's j-r stone is in carson city, nevada and watched as the board grilled the former football star... in the end j-r... their decision was unanimous. (j.r.)they certainly are. minutes after this decision was made those from the parole board were taken from this location in a van. as for o.j. simpson it is back to

cell life for the time being. his release date could come as early as october 1st.o.j. was all smiles today. especially after hearing that he had been granted a release by the parole board. a board that said it came down to several key factors. he had no prior convictions before this case, a positive record in jail including programs he was involved in, support from the victim, and family support. in the past he has spoke about wanting to go back to florida. officials say if that is still the case simpson will have to request permission to do that. if simpson is allowed back to florid and there were problems. he could then be sent back to nevada for parole violations.in this case florida if that is where he winds up doing his interstate compact to. florida would provide him with terms and conditions and florida provides curtesy supervision for nevada but the ultimate authority is still nevada.((j.r.)) if florida receives a request from simpson they have 45 days to decided whether or not they

( terisa ) the massive wildfire near yosemite just keeps growing. the detwiler fire is now up to more than 70-thousand acres... which is larger than the city of seattle. it has destroyed at least 45 buildings so far. the flames are threatened about 15- hundred homes and other structures tonight. the entire town of mariposa remains under a mandatory evacuation order. ( terisa ) mariposa is a popular spot with tourists who visit yosemite.( steve ) with the fire still out of control.. cal fire has is holding a community meeting tonight to fill people in on the fire fight. kron 4's hermela aregawi is in mariposa county and spent the day on the fire lines... she joins us live. what is it like right now? to evacuate out of their homes and the thought of coming back to nothing is understandably really scary.the local sheriff describes this fire as destructive, fast moving and the real dealand it's proving to be just that.fire officials say it's been growing and spreading throughout the day. but they say in the last two days they have made some significant progress in creating fire barriers in the south.the fire is now spreading north.in the meantime, all that residents and business owners can do is wait.right now downtown mariposa is a ghost town.all businesses are required to be clsoed.so they are also under their own stress.we talked to some people who own the hotels in the area. they say they've had to refund days worth of guests. losing thousands of dollars a day and counting.

hayward yesterday while pushing his child in a stroller has been identified by the alameda county sheriff's office as 29-year-old daniel del-toro.( terisa ) and, as kron four's philippe djegal reports investigators say neighbors saddened by what happened are working with them to solve this case.
