teenagers attack a man in front of the elevators.9-1-1 callers say they were kicking him in the head as he bled on the ground.one of those witnesses was mayor tom butt. he said other teenagers were recording the whole thing. "they were all running back and forth doing this, ya know, so for them it was something exciting."some bart riders weren't surprised by kids looking for trouble."ya know there's always a bunch of teens out here some of them look pretty rough."though mayor butt called for help, he couldn't find bart police officers or a station agent nearby to help the victim."i think as a minimum they should provide some kind of security person all the time the stations are open at every station."that's something that could be difficult if not impossible for bart police right now with their understaffing predicament.bart police did show up, and in the course of their investigation determined the attack was just outside bart jurisdiction, and technically falls into the richmond p-d's hands.some riders we spoke to feel it shouldn't matter, as long as an officer can get there quickly.this woman says it would help if a desk agent were calling police, in addition to witnesses."if they're the one that call the

( marty ) since april there have been a handful of mob-style attacks targeting bart passengers. the most notorious involving a group of up to sixty teens. police say the group stormed the oakland coliseum station in late april. seven people were robbed then in may, a group of teens were accused of beating a bart passenger on a train at the colma station. four of them were cited for battery and released to their parents. in june, a person was punched on a train bound for dublin. the group was able to steal a phone. three days later, another mob style robbery at the oakland coliseum station. bart reported a minor grabbed a woman's phone and

ran off the train with a dozen others. a man who chased the thieves was attacked. then on july 7-th, a bart passenger was followed by a group of teens and attacked outside the berkeley station. this attack was not caught on any of the new bart security cameras because it happened away from that bart station. police officers kept a constant presence on friday. the police department says that extra patrols, which were put in place after 71-year-old ed french was murdered on twin peaks this past weekend, will continue indefinitely. french was found suffering from a gunshot wound on sunday morning. witnesses nearby at the time heard gunfire and saw two young men fleeing the scene. french, who's camera was stolen during the attack, died at the hospital. so far, police have not identified any suspects in the case.gentemen, who comes to twin peaks oftern, says he does worry about getting robbed but does what he can to avoid trouble. sotwe just make sure we take everything out of our vehicles up here. we stay in big groups and we all have phones.he also says he was stunned to hear that a man was murdered for something as trivial as a camera. sotit's a nice place to visit. you don't want to worry about having your camera stolen or especially loosing your life or being hurt. the san francisco police department says they will also have additional patrols out looking for any problems during the san francisco marathon on sunday. in san francisco, charles clifford kron 4 news.

( marty ) a man has been accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy in north richmond... police say javier flores shot the boy near truman street and chelsey avenue last night. the boy was airlifted to a hospital. he is in stable condition. flores, who is 20, was booked in the martinez detention facility for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and participating in a gang. excited about this big event, it will bring some significant closures. the big race is shutting down the golden gate bridge in the north bound direction on sunday morning for several hours. that's the first time that has happened in the 40-year history of the race. for all the details, we've put up a link on kron four dot com, with information about the closures and where to park, if you plan to go watch or run in the race. ( marty @ landing) the detwiler fire in mariposa county is growing, but there is a sigh of relief as some evacuation orders have been lifted. the fire has burned more than 75-thousand acres and is now 25-percent contained this morning... 58 homes and dozens of other buildings have been destroyed. kron 4's hermela aregawi has been in the sierra foothills near yosemite for several days and has the story. the detwiler fire continues to rage but firefighters say the pace is nowhere near what it was in the first few days.4000

( marty ) a big story we are following this morning... an oakland man has been indicted on terror related charges. amer al-haggagi is accused of attempting to provide support to isis between july and november of last year. according to the indictment he opened several social media accounts to promote isis. he has also been charged with identity theft. al-haggagi was arrested back in november of 20-16 for identity theft. if convicted he faces 47 years in prison. ( marty ) school officials in mill valley say racist graffiti found on a wall at tamalpais high school will not be tolerated now police are investigating and community members are rallying around the principal who apparently was the target. kron 4's dan kerman has the details. wednesday afternoon maintenance workers discovered racist graffiti on this wall at tamalpais high targetting the school's principal j.c.

( marty ) in millbrae... cal-train kicked off a new project that will help the environment and make trains run more effectively. after nearly two decades, cal-train finally broke ground on it's electrification project. trains going to and from san francisco and san jose will run on an electrfied system instead of diesel. cal-train says the new system will allow trains to move faster, make less noise and carry more people. cal-train is in the process of purchasing 96 new trains. construction of the new

infrastructure will begin next month. the project is expected to be completed by early 20-21. ( marty @ landing) san francisco's leaning tower is continuing to tilt and sink. according to the lawyer representing the residents of the millennium tower, the 58 story luxury high rise has tilted another two inches so far this year. meanwhile engineers are proposing a solution to the problem. kron4's maureen kelly has the details. (maureen kelly)the one thing everyone agrees on.stopping the millennium tower from sinking is not going to be cheap.sources say engineers brought in to tackle the problem are suggesting a fix that will involve drilling 50-100 new piles down to bedrock.a risk management and earthquake engineering expert says the suggested solution seems like the most obvious one but it won't be easy.so

( marty ) that was the florida police chief talking about a video thats spreading online. the video is of a group of teens watching and laughing as a man was drowning in a pond. now those teens could face charges. we want to warn you this video is disturbing. police say back on july 9-th ---jamel dunn was drowning in a retention pond. five teens ranging in age from 14 to 18 were there. but instead of helping dunn. they recorded video and mocked him as he cried out for help. they could be heard telling him he's going to die and they weren't going to help. now we're hearing from dunn's sister who says she can't believe what the teens did.

( marty ) a little boy from martinsville, indiana got quite a surprise for his birthday when his wish came true. the 8-year-old hoped for his premature baby cousin to come home from a hospital in mexico. this is baby beckham and he was born in cancun, mexico. the parents were on vacation at the time. both family members and local politicians put in time and effort to making sure the family returns home. family members raised up to 30-thousand dollars to help with fee's. baby beckham is said to be doing well.

four of them were cited for battery and released to their parents. in june, a person was punched on a train bound for dublin. the group was able to steal a phone. three days later, another mob style robbery at the oakland coliseum station. bart reported a minor grabbed a woman's phone and ran off the train with a dozen others. a man who chased the thieves was attacked. then on july 7-th, a bart passenger was followed by a group of teens and attacked outside the berkeley station. this attack was not caught on any of the new bart security cameras because it happened away from that bart station. cal-train kicked off a new project that will help the environment and make trains run more effectively. after nearly two decades, cal-train finally broke ground on it's electrification project. trains going to and from san francisco and san jose will run on an electrfied system instead of diesel. cal-train says the new system will allow trains to move faster, make less noise and carry more people. cal-train is in the process of purchasing 96 new trains. construction of the new infrastructure will begin next month. the project is expected to be completed by early 20-21. ( marty @ landing) san francisco's leaning tower is continuing to tilt and sink. according to the lawyer representing the residents of the millennium tower, the 58 story luxury high rise has tilted another two inches so far this year. meanwhile engineers are proposing a

a train at the colma station. four of them were cited for battery and released to their parents. in june, a person was punched on a train bound for dublin. the group was able to steal a phone. three days later, another mob style robbery at the oakland coliseum station. bart reported a minor grabbed a woman's phone and ran off the train with a dozen others. a man who chased the thieves was attacked. then on july 7-th, a bart passenger was followed by a group of teens and attacked outside the berkeley station. this attack was not caught on any of the new bart security cameras because it happened away from that bart station. couldn't make the official announcement about pablo sandoval's possible return to san francisco until now.. the longtime former giant is finalizing a minor league deal with the team. the giants plan to reintroduce sandoval today. the panda will begin his second stint with the club in triple-a with the sacramento river cats on wednesday, pablo was released by the red sox after three unproductive and injury-filled years in boston. he signed a 5-year, 95-million-dollar deal them in 2014. the red sox still owe him nearly 50 million dollars. sandoval broke in with the giants and played with them from 2008 to 2014. winning three world series titles in the process. ( marty ) a big story we are following this morning... an oakland man has been indicted on terror related charges. amer al-haggagi is accused of attempting to provide support to isis between july and november of last year. according to the indictment he opened several social media accounts to promote isis. he has also been charged with identity theft. al-haggagi was arrested back in november of 20-16 for identity theft. if convicted he faces 47 years in prison. story this we are following this morning... the washington post reports attorney general jeff sessions talked about election-related issues when he met with russia's ambassador during the 2016 presidential race. sessions was a senator at the time of the meeting. the post says the information came from intelligence intercepts of the ambassador's descriptions of the meetings. sessions failed to disclose his meetings with the ambassador during his confirmation hearings and again when he recused himself from the russia investigation. a justice department spokeswoman says sessions stands behind his statements that he did not talk about interfering with the election. new project that will help the environment and make trains run more effectively. after nearly two decades, cal-train finally broke ground on it's electrification project. trains going to and from san francisco and san jose will run on an electrfied system instead of diesel. cal-train says the new system will allow trains to move faster, make less noise and carry more people. cal-train is in the process of purchasing 96 new trains. construction of the new infrastructure will begin next month. the project is expected to be completed by early 20-21. dunn was drowning in a retention pond. five teens ranging in age from 14 to 18 were there. but instead of helping dunn. they recorded video and mocked him as he cried out for help. they could be heard telling him he's going to die and they weren't going to help. now we're hearing from dunn's sister who says she can't believe what the teens did.

to report it to a medical ( marty ) a little boy from martinsville, indiana got quite a surprise for his birthday when his wish came true. the 8-year-old hoped for his premature baby cousin to come home from a hospital in mexico. this is baby beckham and he was born in cancun, mexico. the parents were on vacation at the time. both family members and local politicians put in time and effort to making sure the family returns home. family members raised up to 30-thousand dollars to help with fee's. baby beckham is said to be doing well.
