( marty ) breaking news we are following this morning.. two people have been injured in a shooting in san francisco and the shooter is still on the loose. it happened last night on blythdale avenue near the cow palace. (ááátriggerááá) officers found two people with non-life threatning injuries. both people were taken to the hospital. no further information is available. we will continue to update you

on this story throughout the morning. ( marty ) another breaking news story we are following in san antonio texas... eight people have been found dead inside a sweltering tractor- trailer in what police are calling a human-trafficking case. they were found after someone inside that trailer asked a walmart employee late last night asking for water. the trailer was parked in a walmart parking lot. the employee then called police. several other people were also found in the trailer and taken to the hospital. the high temperature in san antonio yesterday was 101 degrees. the trailer did not have air conditioning. the driver of that trailer has been arrested. police are not releasing his identity at this time. ( marty ) for the first time ever, the northbound lanes of the golden gate bridge will be closed for the 40th annual san francisco marathon. it is all because of terrorism concerns. bridge operators decided to keep drivers out of those lanes between six to nine this morning. this comes after terrorists have intentionally

plowed their vehicles into large crowds of people. the southbound lanes will remain open because of a steel and concrete median barrier that protects runners from getting hit by cars passing in that direction. drivers will have to use alternate routes to get to the north bay. this is the course of the marathon. it started at the embarcadero and mission street at 5:30 a.-m... the route then loops through the presidio, the outer richmond, golden gate park, haight ashbury, the mission, the inner bayview and back to the embarcadero. for more information about the race, you can visit kron-four-dot com. ( marty )(ááátake boxesááá) muni has closed down part of its subway system for light-rail testing. and that is causing delays. stations between west portal and montgomerey will now be closed each weekend through august 20th except for the weekend of august 11th. that's the weekend of outside lands. those stations

( marty ) now to a big story we have been following ... a man who was violently attacked outside the richmond bart station is now speaking out. the attack happened thursday morning. one of the witnesses was the mayor of richmond. kron four's spencer blake spoke to the victim who says more needs to be done to stop these kinds of attacks from happening. "no bart security. no bart attendant there. nobody."in some ways, landon sims felt alone thuzrsday morning when he was beaten unconscious by a group of teenagers.his face is so messed up he's been wearing sunglasses since the attack. but even though witnesses couldn't get immediate help from bart officers or employees, several of them did what they could to help."only person that came was two ladies that came to my rescue." mayor tom butt happened to be there, and called 9-1-1."if the mayor didn't see that then it probably wouldn't be a big

thing it would just be another statistic of something happening like that so i'm glad the mayor has seen what really goes on in richmond." since the attack, the mayor has called for bart security at every station at all times. sims himself wants to see áreal changes at the station. until then, he doesn't plan on coming back.bart police say the attack was in richmond p- d's jurisdiction, even though sims was right under the richmond sign at the bart station. a group of kids surrounded sims, tripped him, and started kicking his head. strangely, they didn't steal so much as a penny - they just went into attack mode. "my first thought was actually to get even but i have a bigger situation to think about and that's my family."andit was his family who told him what had happened when he woke up in the hospital.the emotional pain and confusion for sims are on the same level as the pain he feels in his battered face."when my daughter said like, 'oh, daddy what happened to your face?' and i had to explain to her what happened, that like killed me."with stitches in his eyebrow, sims will be staying home from work for several days as he lets his bruises and swelling heal. in richmond, spencer blake,

( marty ) more crimes are being reported by bart riders. just three were reported yesterday to bart police. in the latest incident, a witness reported seeing a man hit another man in the face at the civic center bart station. police are still looking for the attacker. the victim was treated at a hospital. also yesterday, thieves stole a catalytic converter from a car parked at the dublin/pleasanton station. at the concord station, a man was arrested for not paying a fare and jumping over the gates. ( marty ) police are warning people to stay on alert after four robberies in the bay area. two happened in oakland, one in emeryville and another in san francisco. a 71-year-old man was robbed, shot and killed on top of twin peaks last weekend. police are now patrolling the area 24-7. officers are also warning people not to leave things inside their cars.

in the spotlight might generate more souvenir seekers, but they also worry about a backlash. ( marty ) a federal judge is refusing to reinstate president trump's sanctuary cities order. the ruling came down last week the executive order would have cut funding from cities that do not cooperate with immigration officials. the department of justice had asked the judge to reverse his previous decision blocking president trump's order. it was first blocked after lawsuits were filed by san francisco and santa clara county. attorney general jeff sessions released a memo saying the executive order only applies to a small amount of money. but the judge says sessions could reverse himself, so for now the executive order remains blocked. ( marty ) hundreds of firefighters are still near yosemite national park battling the detwiler fire. those living in the city of mariposa were able to go back to their homes on friday. this is what some of the damage looks like.

several other areas were reopened to evacuees. so far more than 76-thousand acres have burned. the fire is now 40 perecent contained but 60 homes have burned. the cause of this fire is still under investigation. close to 45-hundred firefighters have been on the fire lines since it started last sunday. the cause of the fire has not yet been released. a100 ( marty ) putting a fire out doesn't mean fire crews can leave. firefighters are expected to remain on site for a few weeks to assess the damage. now, an app developer has designed something that may help streamline the damage assessment process. kristen hazard has created "wildnote" it's an an app that she says helps integrate the data crews collect after a fire scorches an area. hazard says the current method of collecting this data is slow. firefighters take detailed notes of the fire damage using pen and paper. this leads to delays in receiving the information. hazard says the app can streamline the data collection

( marty ) cal fire is interested in the app but because it is a state run agency lawmakers in sacramento would have to approve it. hazard says she hopes the app will help firefighters do their job more efficiently. ( marty ) san francisco city attorney dennis herrera is requesting court orders forcing uber and lyft to comply with subpoenas. the subpoenas are part of an investigation into whether ride-hailing companies are creating a public nuisance. the subpoenas were issued on june 5-th. but neither company has provided the information. lyft initially worked with the city attorney's office to create an agreement but eventually

stopped complying. uber objected to the subpoenas and refused to hand over any information. herrera says he is looking to see if the companies are complying with disability ( marty ) a family wants guard rails along devils slide after they believe their loved one drove his car off a cliff near montara beach. parts of the car were found in the area. but the 22-year old man is still missing. kron4's jeff pierce explains what the family is doing to try and make this roadway safer. on saturday morning friends and families of victims whose cars plumetted off the cliff at devils slide on highway one near montara beach were demonstrating in hopes of getting barriors installed to prevent any further tragedies. twenty three year old richard moss went missing on may twenty fifth. it took weeks before they found a clue that his vehicle went over the edge and tumbled into the ocean. his body has yet to be recovered.after fifty days of searching we found his wheel at the bottom of the cliff over here. obviously he's gone off here. his car's in the

ocean we're trying to find it. richard's father dan has organized this demonstration for barriers in response to the loss of his son and for others who have lost love ones along this dangerous stretch of highway one.this is not the first time right behind me rose on that picture she died here on twenty sixteen.her brother in law was there saturday to plead for barriers to be installed.if we could build a barrier and save a life that would mean a lot. caltrans claims the investigation into richard moss's death has to be completed before they will install barriers. a decision that frustrates demonstrators. my only hope is nobody dies while we're planning and how long is planning going to take. those demonstrating said they will continue their presence at the scene each saturday until there are barriors put in place.it's a lot of shattered lives, these were two young lives that were lost. at devils slide on highway one jeff pierce kron four news.

( marty ) president trump is pushing republican senators not to give up on repealing and replacing the affordable care act. the president met with the senators last week. he told them that doing nothing on health care is not an option. he urged the senators not to leave town for their august recess until they have reached an agreement on health care. president trump also says there will be consequences for those who choose to block the bill. the senate may vote on the issue as soon as next week. ( marty ) special counsel robert mueller is asking the trump administration to preserve any evidence pertaining to the russia investigation. mueller sent a letter to the white house last week, ordering the preservation of all documents related to the june 20-16 meeting at trump tower between donald trump junior and a russian attorney. according to bloomberg news, mueller is reportedly investigating potentially russia-related business transactions of the president and his associates. the president has suggested mueller doesn't have the authority to look into trump family finances.

affects iphones, ipads, mac computers, and some android phone and tablets. the security hole allows hackers to remotely take control of devices. kron 4's tech reporter gabe slate shows you how to patch your tech gear so it's safe. one of the components of our phones, tablets, and laptops is a wi-fi chip. one of the most widely used chips out there by apple and android is a broadcam chipseveral of these were discovered to have a security hole that can let a hacker gain access to your device when the wifi is turned on. not only could they get access to sensitive information they could also take control of your device remotely. now there has not been any cases reported yet of anyone being hacked through this bug but now that it is out there. you need to take action and patch your devices. this flaw affects iphones, ipads, mac computers and some android phones and tablets. both apple and google have sent out software updates you can run that contain patches for this security hole. for the iphone and ipad apple has

morning... one person is dead after a stabbing in hayward. it happened at about 9:30 on happyland avenue. police have made one arrest in connection to the stabbing. we'll bring you more details on this as they enter our newsroom. ( marty ) a childhood favorite for many kids at the playground is now being phased out in san francisco. there will no longer be sandboxes at parks in the city. all new playgrounds will look similar to mountain lake park in the presidio. which just reopened last month minus the sand. rec and park tells us the decision to eliminate sandboxes came because sand requires frequent cleaning. which is a challenge for the department. officials say they keep finding broken glass and other sharp objects in the sand. ( marty ) a warning to people looking at rentals on craigs list... a baltimore man ended up with strangers living in his home without his permission. a contractor says he was renovating his

one lucky man won one million dollars playing the california lottery in may when he stopped for frozen yogurt at a san mateo market. moises alonzo-reyes was on his way home from work when he stopped at la raza market on north ellsworth avenue and bought a million dollar multiplier

ticket. alonzo-reyes said he plans to use the money to move back to central america. he hasn't seen his family in 12 years. la raza market will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. ( marty ) a small dog has been reunited with his owners after being recussitated by firefighters in bakersfield. "jack" was unresponsive when firefighters pulled him from a burning home wednesday. firefighters were able to revive jack using a specialized animal oxygen mask. officials say the dog also received oxygen therapy overnight. veterinarians say the dog suffered respiratory injuries, but is now doing well. jack had a special visitor on thursday -- the firefighter who carried him from the burning ( marty ) a happy ending for a stowaway kitten that was found inside a delivery truck. the little guy was adopted. it happened in burlingame. earlier this month an adoption agency discovered the two-month-old kitten, when they were unloading supplies

parking lot. the employee then called police. several other people were also found in the trailer and taken to the hospital. the high temperature in san antonio yesterday was 101 degrees. the trailer did not have air conditioning. the driver of that trailer has been arrested. police are not releasing his identity at this time. ( marty ) for the first time ever, the northbound lanes of the golden gate bridge will be closed for the 40th annual san francisco marathon. it is all because of terrorism concerns. bridge operators decided to keep drivers out of those lanes between six to nine this morning. this comes after terrorists have intentionally plowed their vehicles into large crowds of people. the southbound lanes will remain open because of a steel and concrete median barrier that protects runners from getting hit by cars passing in that direction. drivers will have to use alternate routes to get to the north bay. this is the course of the marathon. it started at the embarcadero and mission street at 5:30 a.-m...

( marty ) hundreds of firefighters are still near yosemite national park battling the detwiler fire. those living in the city of mariposa were able to go back to their homes on friday. this is what some of the damage looks like. several other areas were reopened to evacuees. so far more than 76-thousand acres have burned. the fire is now 40 perecent contained but 60 homes have burned. the cause of this fire is still under investigation. close to 45-hundred firefighters have been on the fire lines since it started last sunday. the cause of the fire has not yet been released. a100 ( marty ) putting a fire out doesn't mean fire crews can leave. firefighters are expected to remain on site for a few weeks to assess the damage. now, an app developer has designed something that may help

attorney dennis herrera is requesting court orders forcing uber and lyft to comply with subpoenas. the subpoenas are part of an investigation into whether ride-hailing companies are creating a public nuisance. the subpoenas were issued on june 5-th. but neither company has provided the information. lyft initially worked with the city attorney's office to create an agreement but eventually stopped complying. uber objected to the subpoenas and refused to hand over any information. herrera says he is looking to see if the companies are complying with disability laws. ( marty ) another breaking news story we are following in san antonio texas... eight people have been found dead inside a sweltering tractor- trailer in what police are calling a human-trafficking

case. they were found after someone inside that trailer asked a walmart employee late last night asking for water. the trailer was parked in a walmart parking lot. the employee then called police. several other people were also found in the trailer and taken to the hospital. the high temperature in san antonio yesterday was 101 degrees. the trailer did not have air conditioning. the driver of that trailer has been arrested. police are not releasing his identity at this time. ( marty ) for the first time ever, the northbound lanes of the golden gate bridge will be closed for the 40th annual san francisco marathon. it is all because of terrorism concerns. bridge operators decided to keep drivers out of those lanes between six to nine this morning. this comes after terrorists have intentionally plowed their vehicles into large crowds of people. the southbound lanes will remain open because of a steel and concrete median barrier that protects runners from getting hit by cars passing in that direction. drivers

richmond bart station is now speaking out. the attack happened thursday morning. one of the witnesses was the mayor of richmond. kron four's spencer blake spoke to the victim who says more needs to be done to stop these kinds of attacks from happening. "no bart security. no bart attendant there. nobody."in some ways, landon sims felt alone thuzrsday morning when he was beaten unconscious by a group of teenagers.his face is so messed up he's been wearing sunglasses since the attack. but even though witnesses couldn't get immediate help from bart officers or employees, several of them did what they could to help."only person that came was two ladies that came to my rescue." mayor tom butt happened to be there, and called 9-1-1."if the mayor didn't see that then it probably wouldn't be a big thing it would just be another statistic of something happening like that so i'm glad the mayor has seen what really goes on in richmond." since the attack, the mayor has called for bart security at every station at all times. sims himself wants to see áreal changes at the station.

( marty ) police are warning people to stay on alert after four robberies in the bay area. two happened in oakland, one in emeryville and another in san francisco. a 71-year-old man was robbed, shot and killed on top of twin peaks last weekend. police are now patrolling the area 24-7. officers are also warning people not to leave things inside their cars. they also urge you to be aware of your surroundings and stay in big groups. extra patrols are out in force for the san francisco marathon today. ( marty ) just in.... the body of a boater who went missing in tomales bay has now been found. 70-year-old charles "tod" friend was found dead yesterday afternoon. the tomales bay oyster company says it is deeply saddened by the loss. friend was the owner of that oyster company. he went missing tuesday afternoon. boaters saw friend's boat going in circles that day without him inside it. investigators say friend was not wearing a life vest and fell off his boat. ( marty ) hundreds of firefighters are still near yosemite national park battling the detwiler fire. those living in the city of mariposa were able to go back to their homes on friday. this is what some of the damage looks like. several other areas were reopened to evacuees. so

far more than 76-thousand acres have burned. the fire is now 40 perecent contained but 60 homes have burned. the cause of this fire is still under investigation. close to 45-hundred firefighters have been on the fire lines since it started last sunday. a100 ( marty ) putting a fire out doesn't mean fire crews can leave. firefighters are expected to remain on site for a few weeks to assess the damage. now, an app developer has designed something that may help streamline the damage assessment process. kristen hazard has created "wildnote" it's an an app that she says helps integrate the data crews collect after a fire scorches an area. hazard says the current method of collecting this data is slow. firefighters take detailed notes of the fire damage using pen and paper. this leads to delays in receiving the information. hazard says the app can streamline the data collection process.

( marty ) san francisco city attorney dennis herrera is requesting court orders forcing uber and lyft to comply with subpoenas. the subpoenas are part of an investigation into whether ride-hailing companies are creating a public nuisance. the subpoenas were issued on june 5-th. but neither company has provided the information. lyft initially worked with the city attorney's office to create an agreement but eventually stopped complying. uber objected to the subpoenas and refused to hand over any information. herrera says he is looking to see if the companies are complying with disability laws. ( marty ) a family wants guard rails along devils slide after they believe their loved one drove his car off a cliff near montara beach. parts of the car were found in the area. but the 22-year old man is still missing. kron4's jeff pierce explains what the family is doing to

try and make this roadway safer. on saturday morning friends and families of victims whose cars plumetted off the cliff at devils slide on highway one near montara beach were demonstrating in hopes of getting barriors installed to prevent any further tragedies. twenty three year old richard moss went missing on may twenty fifth. it took weeks before they found a clue that his vehicle went over the edge and tumbled into the ocean. his body has yet to be recovered.after fifty days of searching we found his wheel at the bottom of the cliff over here. obviously he's gone off here. his car's in the ocean we're trying to find it. richard's father dan has organized this demonstration for barriers in response to the loss of his son and for others who have lost love ones along this dangerous stretch of highway one.this is not the first time right behind me rose on that picture she died here on twenty sixteen.her brother in law was there saturday to plead for barriers to be installed.if we could build a barrier and save a life that would mean a lot. caltrans claims the investigation into richard moss's death has to be completed before they will install barriers. a decision that frustrates demonstrators. my only hope is nobody dies
