(tiffany) our top story this morning... the bay bridge series takes a turn for the worst as a fight breaks out in the stands. it happened during monday night's game. a security guard has been fired after she was seen on video punching a fan. as kron fours j.r stone explains police say the fight started over a stolen backpack. i talked with witnesses who saw it go down and they told me it looked like this security guard seen throwing the punches was on witch hunt. punches thrown in the upper deck at the coliseum on monday night as a security guard was seen attacking a fan. there are now multiple videos like this showing the wild ordeal.

sot i just don't understand why other people get in somebody elses spacepolice have an idea why. they say a stadium security officer's back pack was taken while they were working. another security guard located that back pack. it was with a fan in another section. police say the security guard then confronted the fan and the fight broke out. in slow motion you can see the punches being thrown. one witness told kron 4 news security at the coliseum looked like they were on a witch hunt that lasted at least 10 minutesthen, in their words, the fan was jumped. another witness tells us security attacked the fan and multiple people with the fan.sot i heard it was pretty brutal.the security company, staff pro, is contracted by the athletics. the security guard involved has been fired. police say the back pack was recovered but items inside were still missing. fans we talked with still can't believe what went down on monday night.sot even though they are wrong or right you still don't get in people's faces.i talked with at least two people who witnessed this go down. they chose not to show their face as they attend

(tiffany) in the south bay... san jose police have released a photo of woman wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery. authorities believe this woman is responsible for stabbing a man in san jose's willow glen neighborhood last month. the victim was taken to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries. authorities say the woman is between 18- and 26- years old, about 5-10 and weighing 200 -pounds. she has a medium- complexion and long dark hair. (tiffany @ landing) now to a story you will only see on kron4. concord police have released a sketch of the person who shot a man in the face with a flare gun. kron4's justine waldman has an update on the victim's condition. (tiffany) another big story we are following this morning... a teenager opens an emergency door jumping out of a plane and onto the tarmac at san francisco international airport. kron4's spencer blake has what we know so far. this video is from ground level, taken shortly after a 17-year-old boy jumped through the emergency exit of copa airlines flight 208 from panama city.you can see the door still open above the wing. after it arrived in san francisco at 2:30 tuesday afternoon , the plane was waiting its turn to roll up to the gate.that's when the teenager decided to open the door, climb out onto the wing, and drop down to the tarmac."i think it's something

now... some rides similar to the one that malfunctioned and killed one person last week in ohio are being allowed to reopen in california. one of those rides is right here in the bay area. the delirium at 'great america' in santa clara has been sitting idle since last thursday. cal- osha says it has approved reopening the ride after it was tested out. however rides that go by the name "fireball" remain shutdown. cal-osha says it is waiting on a response from the manufacturer. one of the closed 'fireball' rides is at the santa cruz beach boarwalk. . ( tiffany )( tiffany )( tiffany ) ( tiffany ) police in san jose rescued a two- month old baby from a hot car that had the windows rolled up. investigators say the child's mother had passed out in the car. the temperature outside was over 90 degrees. a tow truck driver investigating what he thought was a disabled vehicle on highway 17 discovered the pair and notified the c-h-p. when outside temperatures are above 90 -- the inside of a car in direct sunlight can climb to over 130 degrees. doctors say babies and children are especially vulnerable in such cases.

( tiffany ) due to the uncertainty surrounding the "affordable care act," covered california health insurance costs are going up a bit. today california officials announced an average increase in monthly premiums by 12- and-a-half percent for next year. however -- san francisco county will see an average increase of just 7-percent -- while l-a will see a 13 precent spike. about 10-percent of the one-and-a-half million people enrolled will have to look for a new plan -- as "anthem blue cross" will end its coverage in most of the state. plans for next year go on sale november 1st. searching for the man who threw bleach in a woman's face on a busy street. the victim of the assault has lost her vision.. possibly permanently. the attack happened in the tenderloin district over the weekend. kron4's maureen kelly has surveillance video showing the moments after the assault. that's just not right..news off the attack shocking even to long time residents of the grittiest area of the city. police say it happened here on the 100 block of eddy street just before 73o sunday evening. the suspect an adult black male to her to get up and leave. the suspect walked away and came back with a cup in his hand he threw at here which she believes was bleach the suspect fled and the 57 year old

female vcitm, now blinded, goes around the corner to mason street and sits down.one man says he came up on the victim after the attack and she sounded like she was in pain.she was like aaaaahhhh. i wanted to help her but i couldn't because i didn't know what the situation was.the womam could be seen in surveillance camera video outside this low income housing development after the attack. i was able to see the videoand you can see the woman sitting crosslegged on the ground wiping her eyes occasionally. many people walked on by her.before it appears someone finally called for help. according to the timecode on the video the woman was left to suffer for close to 15 minutes until first responders arrived to treat her. she was transported to the hospital. it's also unknown if the damage to her vision is temporary or permanent. police are looking for more witnesses and surviellance video to help them solve this case. maureenelly kron4 news

(tiffany) fremont police say they were forced to shoot a dog after it turned on its owner. it happened just after 8- sunday night . police received a call about a dog attacking two women at the vallejo mill historical park. when officers got to the park they found the two women covered in blood. officers tried to control the dog with a snare pole but the dog attacked the pole. authorities say it began to shake free from the snare pole. that's when officers shot the animal. (tiffany) according to police the dog seriously wounded the owner and bit the other woman. authorities say the dog even bit off one of the women's fingers. both women were

(tiffany) in the event of an emergency.. if a plane headed to s-f-o has to make an emergency landing into the bay first responders say, they are ready. local regional, state, and federal first responders held a meeting at the airport to formulate a plan. it has been 45 years since an airplane heading for s-f-o actually landed in the bay. but back in 2013- asiana airlines flight 214 barely avoided the water with the tail of the plane crashing into the sea-wall. < "clearly we had three casualties that day, several people injured , that plane lands in the water and that incident is much more catastrophic, so taking lessons learned from that incident">(tiffany) first responders say the next phase will be conducting an actual emergency drill on the water at the end of the month. ( lydia )it is really dark and very foggy out here but i did see what appeared to be search crews flashlights along the beach. at about 7:30 p.m., a person called 911 to report seeing a person in distress near the cliff house restaurant on point lobos avenue. the san francisco fire department assisted coast guard officials with the search, however fire officials have left the scene. although thick fog and low visibility is hampering search efforts, a coast guard cutter will remain at the scene looking for the victim. coast guard officials encourage beach goers to wear life jackets when going into deep water and to immediately call 911 if they see a person in distress.reporting live in ocean beach, lydia pantazes kron4 news. ( mark ) we are learning new information about what led up to a fight between a security guard and a fan at the oakland coliseum. oakland police say it all started after a fan stole a security guard's backpack. here is video from the fight on monday night during the a's and giants game. another security guard found the backpack with a fan in another

section. police say the guard confronted the fan and the fight broke out. multiple witnesses told kron four that the guard attacked the fan first after finding the backpack. the security company was contracted by the athletics. the guard involved has since been fired. police say the backpack was recovered but items inside are still missing. ( mark ) happening now... police are looking for a man who shot someone in the face with a flare gun in concord. the attack happened in june but police just released this sketch of the man and the bicycle he left behind. the victim spotted the man on a bike pointing a flare gun at cars along the i-680 interchange by willow pass road. the victim went to take a picture of the man, but before he could take the picture, the attacker shot him in the face with the flare gun. attacker ran away down the iron horse trail, leaving behind his bicycle. the victim had his upper lip nearly blown off and needed surgery. ( darya ) a teenager opens an emergency door and jumps out of a plane on a tarmac at san francisco international airport. it happened on a copa airlines flight from panama city yesterday afternoon. this is video taken shortly after the 17- year-old jumped through the emergency exit, and slid down the wing. you can see the opened exit door right over the wing. the plane was waiting to pull up to it's gate when the teen jumped out and started running on the tarmac. construction workers on the runway saw the teen and held him until police arrived. airport officials say the teenager is a u-s citizen and appeared to be in emotional distress during the flight. ( darya ) some rides similar to the one that malfunctioned and killed a man last week in ohio are being allowed to reopen in california. one of

those rides is right here in the bay area. the delirium at 'great america' in santa clara has been sitting idle since last thursday. cal- osha says it has approved reopening the ride after it passed a safety test. but the "fireball" rides remain shutdown across the country. that is the same name as the ride that failed in ohio. cal-osha says it is waiting on a response from the manufacturer before allowing those rides to re-open. one of the closed 'fireball' rides is at the santa cruz beach boarwalk. ( mark ) three people are behind bars this morning after a wild police chase ends in a crash in the east bay. fremont police say the car was driving as fast as 70-miles when it crashed into a home on isherwood place. officers tried to pull the driver over because the car was connected to a series of home burglaries within the past few days. the car went crashing into the living room of the home that was empty at the time.

( mark ) two deputies are in serious condition following a shoot-out in northern california. investigators say a third deputy ran into a house to pull the deputies to safety after they were shot. the shooting happened in yuba county... about an hour north of sacramento. deputies were called to a church where they were told a

disgruntled employee was pulling out the plants. when they arrived, a man opened fire, shooting both deputies. the gunman was able to get away... but was later found dead inside a home. the deputies were airlifted to a hospital. they are expected to survive. ( mark ) firefighters out out another fire at homeless encampment in the east bay. a viewer photo shows the plume of black smoke rising yesterday near downtown oakland. the fire started not far from interstate 980... it burned some tents as well as an s-u-v. investigators say it appears the fire started in one of the tents. this is just the latest in a series of homeless encampment fires in oakland. there were two last week and investigators say one might have been intentionally set. the city has been trying to reach out to the homeless.... to prevent fires. it is also trying to find them a more permanent place to stay. since the beginning of the year, oakland says it has responded to over 60 fires at homeless camps. ( mark ) the u-s senate voted overwhelmingly to confirm christopher wray as the new f-b-i director. the vote was 92-to-five.

filed felony vehicular manslaughter charges against a california bus driver... in connection with a wreck that killed four people. the incident happened last august in merced county... the bus was heading to washington state when it hit a large highway post - head on. it practically sliced the bus in half. four people where killed - and nearly 20 others were injured. the driver... mario vasquez is now facing four felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and five misdemeanors. a c-h-p investigation found vasquez slept about 6 and a half hours - the previous day. investigators also say he violated laws relating to maximum driving time for commercial drivers. ( mark ) president trump's son... donald trump junior will testify in front of congress in september. california senator dianne feinstein made that announcement yesterday. this comes after it was revealed that president trump played a role in crafting a misleading statement about a meeting between don junior and a russian lawyer during the

( darya ) a high school in the north bay is hoping that it can save its football program. the principal at novato high school sent out an email announcing the program was facing a possible cancelation because not enough people showing up for practice for the varsity team. although mandatory practice does not start until next week, so few people were showing up to field the varsity team, the principal warned that the season was in jeopardy. since the email went out, players have been rushing out to spread the word and get players to show up. and one person even printed up shirts for the players to get the word out to save the season.

( mark ) search crews find a body at the bottom of lake tahoe. they believe that it is a man who went missing at the lake last year. college student marc ma was paddle-boarding on the lake with friends when he went missing. after months of searching for ma... his family reached out to a search and recovery company in wisconsin. using a specialized robotic camera system-- the company was able to locate a body where ma was reported missing. the body was located 700 yards off shore in water that was 240 feet deep. ma's family is now waiting for the body to be identified.

(tiffany) the u-s air force launched an "unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile" from vandenberg air force base in santa barbara county around two this morning. here is a video just into the kron four newsroom of the launch earlier this morning. it's the fourth test from the california site this year. the tests are to make sure the weapon systems are accurate and reliable. however, the nonprofit group "nuclear age peace foundation" says this latest launch "must be viewed as a direct response to the north korean launch." north korea launched a ballistic missile last friday that landed off the coast of japan. it was the country's second ballistic missile test in less than a month. (darya) san jose police released a photo of a woman wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery. police believe this woman is responsible for stabbing a man in san jose's willow glen neighborhood last month.

(mark) we are learning new information about what led up to a fight between a security guard and a fan at the oakland coliseum. police say it all started after a fan stole a security guard's backpack. here is video from the fight on monday night during the a's and giants game. another security guard found the backpack with a fan in another section. police say the guard confronted the fan and the fight broke out. multiple witnesses told kron four that the guard attacked the fan first after finding the backpack. the security company was contracted by the athletics. the guard involved has since been fired. police say the backpack was recovered but items inside are still missing. (darya) happening now... police are looking for a man who shot someone in the face with a flare gun in concord. the attack happened in june but police just released this sketch of the man and the bicycle he left behind. the victim spotted the man on

a bike pointing a flare gun at cars along the i-680 interchange by willow pass road. the victim went to take a picture of the man, but before he could take the picture, the attacker shot him in the face with the flare gun. (darya) the attacker ran away down the iron horse trail, leaving behind his bicycle. the victim had his upper lip nearly blown off and needed surgery. (mark) some rides similar to the one that malfunctioned and killed a man last week in ohio are being allowed to reopen in california. one of those rides is right here in the bay area. the delirium at 'great america' in santa clara has been sitting idle since last thursday. cal- osha says it has approved reopening the ride after it passed a safety test. but the

"fireball" rides remain shutdown across the country. that is the same name as the ride that failed in ohio. cal-osha says it is waiting on a response from the manufacturer before allowing those rides to re-open. one of the closed 'fireball' rides is at the santa cruz beach boarwalk. (darya) three people are behind bars this morning after a wild police chase ends in a crash in the east bay. fremont police say the car was driving as fast as 70-miles when it crashed into a home on isherwood place. officers tried to pull the driver over because the car was connected to a series of home burglaries within the past few days. the car went crashing into the living room of the home that was empty at the time.

the family that lives in the home is not able to stay there until it is deemed safe. (mark) police in san jose rescued a two month old baby who was in a hot car with the windows rolled up. investigators say the child's mother was passed out while the temperature outside reached above 90 degrees. now the mother...26 year old arianna rolling is facing charges of d-u-i and child endangerment. a tow truck driver was investigating what he thought was a disabled car on highway -17 discovered the pair and notified the c-h-p. while the temperature outside the car was above 90... it was even hotter inside. doctors say there are steps you can take to keep yourself from leaving a kid in the car. the baby is listed in good condition this morning at valley medical center. (darya) crews in big sur say they have a new plan to reopen highway 1 after a massive mudslide caused by the winter storms. this is the mud creek slide. it is near the onterey county-san luis obispo county line.

transportation officials announced that they will build a road over the massive slide. they say this is cheaper and quicker than building a tunnel through the slide or sidestepping it all together. there is no word on when this new stretch of highway one will be open. (darya) the justice department is reportedly going to investigate racial discrimination against white people at u-s colleges and universities. according to documents obtained by the new york times... the justice department is looking for lawyers to work on possible litigation against intentional discrimination in college admissions. right now affirmative action aims to eliminate discrimination in higher education admissions. the justice department has not commented on the new york times report. the n-a-a-c-p is promising a strong response if the report is true. the n-double-a c-p says that they will sue the federal government if the justice department tries to resegregate schools. (mark) members of congress say they will begin holding bipartisan hearings on how to fix the affordable care act. this comes after several failed efforts by republicans

in the house and the senate to repeal and replace obamacare. the republican controlled senate failed to pass a bill last week that would have repealed major parts of obamacare... including the individual and employer mandates. (mark) due to the uncertainty surrounding the "affordable care act," covered california health insurance costs are going up. california officials announced that monthly premiums will go up by an average 12-and-a-half percent for next year. however -- san francisco county will see an average increase of just 7-percent. about 10-percent of the one-and-a-half million people enrolled will have to look for a new plan -- as "anthem blue cross" will end its coverage in most of the state. open enrollment starts november 1st. (darya) the family of a 12-year-old new jersey girl who killed herself is suing the school district. they say the district did ánotá step in while she was getting bullied. mallory grossman committed suicide in june. her family says several of her classmates bullied her for months, leading to chronic headaches and declining grades in school. their attorney says mallory's parents talked to school officials but nothing was done to make the bullying end. (darya) mallory's mother says the

district never filed harassment intimidation and bullying reports mandated by the state of new jersey. they hope this lawsuit helps stop cyber-bullying. (mark) san francisco city officials are recommending that cable cars switch to a cashless payment system. that is according to a new audit report released earlier this week. muni launched an investigation after two conductors were arrested for pocketing money from riders. it found that conductors failed to collect fares from plainclothes auditors 11 of the 30 sampled rides. investigators say if it is not possible to move to a cashless payment system, they recommend implementing fare boxes. it would require passengers to pass through the area where the boxes are located before getting on the cable car. (mark) two deputies are in serious condition following a shoot-out in northern california. investigators say a third deputy ran into a house to pull the deputies to safety after they were shot.

the shooting happened in yuba county... about an hour north of sacramento. deputies were called to a church where they were told a disgruntled employee was pulling out the plants. when they arrived, a man opened fire, shooting both deputies. the gunman was able to get away... but was later found dead inside a home. the deputies were airlifted to a hospital. they are expected to survive. (darya) the u-s senate voted overwhelmingly to confirm christopher wray as the new f-b-i director. the vote was 92-to-five. wray succeeds james comey who was fired by president trump. wray was a top justice department official during the george w. bush administration. both of california's senators voted in favor of the new fbi director. (darya) a texas police officer barely escaped death when he was hit by a drunk driver on a routine traffic stop. take a look at the officer's dash cam -- the drunk driver sideswipes him as he speaks to another driver about a traffic violation. the officer was able to get up

and walk away from this -- he called for backup, checked on the traffic violator and then detained the intoxicated driver. the officer is recovering from a hyper- extended foot and fractured vertebra. ( mark ) firefighters put out another fire at homeless encampment in the east bay. a viewer photo shows the plume of black smoke rising yesterday near downtown oakland. the fire started not far from interstate 980... it burned some tents as well as an s-u-v. investigators say it appears the fire started in one of the tents. (mark) this is just the latest in a series of homeless encampment fires in oakland. there were two last week and investigators say one might have been intentionally set. the city has been trying to reach out to the homeless.... to prevent fires. it is also trying to find them a more permanent place to stay. since the beginning of the year, oakland says it has responded to over 60 fires at homeless camps. (mark) fremont police say they were forced to shoot a dog after it turned on its owner. police received a call about a dog attacking two women at the vallejo mill historical park. when officers got to the park -- two women were covered in blood. officers tried to control the dog with a snare pole but authorities say it began to shake free from the pole. that's when officers shot the dog. (mark) police say the dog seriously wounded its owner and bit the other women. (darya) the fire that broke out at an elementary school in san rafael has caused 50-thousand dollars in damage. the roof of dixie elementary school was under repair - when a fire broke out monday night. some construction workers were still on site when the flames erupted. tar, propane

torches and roofing paper were on the roof at the time and investigators believe one of them may have caught fire. crews hope to fully repair the roof before school starts on august 24th. (darya) prosecutors have filed felony vehicular manslaughter charges against a california bus driver... in connection with a wreck that killed four people. the incident happened last august in merced county... the bus was heading to washington state when it hit a large highway post - head on. it practically sliced the bus in half. four people where killed - and nearly 20 others were injured. the driver... mario vasquez is now facing four felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and five misdemeanors. a c-h-p investigation found vasquez slept about 6 and a half hours - the previous day. investigators also say he violated laws relating to maximum driving time for commercial drivers. tahoe. they believe that it is a man who went missing at the lake last year. college student marc ma was paddle-boarding on the lake with friends when he went missing. after months of searching for ma... his family reached out to a search and recovery company in wisconsin. using a specialized robotic camera system-- the company was able to locate a body where ma was reported missing. the body was located 700 yards off shore in water that was 240 feet deep. ma's family is now waiting for the body to be identified. (mark) president trump is pushing forward on one of his signature campaign promises. the trump administration says, it will waive environmental reviews and other laws to replace a 15- mile section of border wall ... in san diego. critics say the move is a threat to the environment. the department of homeland security said, it will publish a notice to exempt the government from the environmental review. this is sixth time that the department has exercised that authority... and the first time since 2008.
