(grant) before this shooting in dolores park-- there was a shooting on stanyan and haight streets...near golden gate park. police are investigating this shooting as well. there is no word at this time if the two shootings are related. (vicki) more breaking news we are following out of sacramento county where a plane crashed into a home...killing the pilot. the pilot was the only person on board the plane.. this is video from the scene. the plane crashed into a house on 28th and u streets..no one was home at the time..and no other injuries have been reported.. we will keep you updated as we get more information. (grant) our other top story tonight... fire crews out in full force tonight... working to contain a grass fire that erupted in the east bay hills...(vicki) and now they are investigating the fire as possible arson... the fire is burning near grizzly peak boulevard... (grant) this is the same area... where the 1991 oakland firestorm killed more than two- dozen people and

and chopped up as a prevention measure. uc berkeley police have issued a statement saying the fire, is being investigated as a potential arson, specifically as a reckless wildland fire causing injury. but calfire which has been charged as the lead investigator is making no such statement.sot dep. chief melinda drayton/oakland firein the meantime, oakland police are confirming a man who allegedly brandish a weapon following a collission along grizzly peak shortly before the fire, has now been arrested by uc berkeley police. but opd cannot confirm he is connected to the fire.the blaze charred 20 acres on both sides of g p b it remains 50 percen contained. which broke out wednesday afternoon charring brush on both sides of brizzly peak boulevard between south park drive and centennial drive. that stretch of road will remain closed until 8pm friday night

seattle to san jose, a male adult passenger was texting to a woman in tacoma, washington, allegedly discussing sex acts to be carried out on a boy and girl ages 5 and seven.sgt. brian spears/san jose police "...the texts were disturbing. they talked about not just molesting children but also about bestiality..."these are the mug shots of the man, identified as 56 year old michael kellar and the woman on the other end of text messages, 50 year old gail burnworth, both from tacoma, washington.police say a woman seated just behind kellar was able to see the illicit messages on his phone because of the large font. she then used her own phone to photograph him and informed the flight attendants, who called police upon landing in san jose. sgt. brian spears ".....the person on the other end of the texts was identified and located and more evidence was found along with two young victims...." police said that burnworth is a care giver and that neither she or kellar are related to thechildren, who are thought to have been the victims of on going sexual abuse. police revealed nothing about other possible victims but praised the passenger who alertly

anonymous say police, who also praised southwest airlines for it's role in gettingnto the bottom of all this. in a statement, a spokesman said the airline encourages it's patrons to report suspicious behavior. live in san jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news (vicki) police are on the hunt for a man they say robbed another man at gunpoint tuesday near the u-c berkeley campus. authorities say it happened around ten pm tuesday. the victim was sitting at a bus stop on dana street and durant avenue when he was approached by the suspect. police say the suspect-- who was armed with a gun-- took the man's cell phone and ran to a car waiting near by. that car was last seen driving south on dana street. if you have any information about this armed robbery, please contact berkeley police. than three years ago. michelle carter was convicted of killing conrad roy through her words ... a flood of text messages and phone calls urging him to suicide.( vicki ) her sentencing followed deeply emotional appeals by the victim's family. "not a day goes by without him being my first thought waking up and my last thought going to sleep"conrad roy's family struggled to describe their loss."imagine the worst emotional pain you have ever experienced and multiply it an infinite number of times." carter and roy met while vacationing with their families in florida.both were troubled teenagers histories of depression.although they lived just 30 miles from each other in southeastern massachusetts, most of their contact was electronic.over two years they traded more than a 1,000 facebook and text messages, with carter repeatedly encouraging his suicide.prosecutors cited this exchange the day before his body was found in the cab of his pickup truck.roy saying, "ok im going to do it today..."

"michelle carter exploited my son's weaknesses and used him as a pawn for her own well-being." "this is a tragedy for two families." judge lawrence moniz making the case for rehabilitation: "this court must and has balanced between rehabilitation, the promise that rehabilitation would work and a punishment for the actions that have occurred,"the judge granted carter a stay on her 15=month sentence while the case is appealed ... outraging one family member of the victim.

(grant) the north and south sides of big sur are just a couple months away from reconnecting.. the pfeiffer canyon bridge was demolished in march after winter storms triggered landslides causeing the bridge to buckle. this week, crews are assembling girder pieces... to make metal beams that will support the new bridge. cal trans says this project is high on its priority list.

ki) the golden gate bridge will have new parking restrictions set to begin this weekend. private vehicle parking will no longer be accepted at the vista point parking lot, which is located on the north end of the bridge. parking at the welcome center which is on the south end will also be impacted. golden gate bridge highway and transportation officials say this is to help improve traffic flow on weekends and holidays. the restrictions hours are 11 a-m to 5 p-m, and last all the way through september fourth. (grant) craft brewing pioneer anchor steam is being bought by japanese beermaker sapporo.(vicki) kron4's maureen kelly talked to lovers of the san francisco made beer who are concerned about the changes this buyout will bring. it's one of america's oldest brewersbeing produced in san francisco since the gold rush it's also the city's largest manufactorer, producing enough beer to fill 43 million bottles at this potrero hill plant.in the 60's then owner fritz maytag launched the craft brew revolution here.and those enjoying anchor beers at the company's outdoor pub across from att park express concern about what will happen when the japanese beermaker sapporo takes over which is expected to happen at the end of this month.just another consoliation i just hope it doesn't change the formula and the locationif you look at an

(vicki) more trouble for wells fargo over the auto insurance scandal. a new york regulator subpoenaed two wells fargo divisions...dema nding loan agreements and other documents. senator elizabeth warren and several other democrats are calling for new wells fargo hearings over the issue. wells fargo officials admitted the company bought insurance for some customers -- and charged them for it -- even when they had their own insurance.

they blamed "inadequate" checks and balances at the big bank. wells fargo has agreed to pay 64 million- dollars in cash refunds to customers who were impacted -- along with 16-million dollars in account adjustments. (ali) i have no idea, i hope never happen." 55-year-old john edward reed, of oakland and san mateo, was arrested during a traffic stop wednesday in san mateo. a burlingame police detective found almost all of the stolen rugs in his car. lieutenant jay kiely (ky-lee) with the burlingame police department says it appears he's not the only person involved in the burglary.lt. jay kiely/burlingame police dept.- "there were a lot of rugs. so, it's certainly, um, not hard to assume multiple individuals involved and we're exploring who else may have committed this burglary with him." lieutenant kiely says reed was in a rush to get rid of the

rugs. in fact, kiely says that reed reached out to at least three rug galleries in san francisco and san mateo counties... asking if they wanted to buy. heriz says he spoke with a rug gallery owner in san francisco shortly after the burglary... who told him she had just been sold three of his rugs from reed. she was able to provide a description of him and his car to police, which in turn, helped led to his arrest. police say the few rugs that have not been recovered are valued at about 113-thousand dollars. in burlingame, philippe djegal, kron four news. to buckle your seatbelt, especially when you are in the back seat. rear passengers can become human missiles in a crash and injure those in the front seats. that is according to a new study from the insurance institute for highway safety. it found that someone in the back seat can slam into the driver's seat during a crash, pushing the driving into the airbag and steering wheel with a á35-mile-per-hourá impact. researchers say the issue is most prevalent with ride-hailing services like uber and lfyt, where people

(grant) remember that wild video we showed you of a lightning strike in fort myers florida?it hit a plane, then a worker on the ground below...tonight we know the victim...austin dunn..has been released from the hospital after suffering third degree burns.. in the footage you can see three workers getting the plane ready for take off. that's when the bolt struck the plane's tail---traveled through it---and right into dunn's body causing him to collapse. his friends and family are still in shock but thankful he's alive. in the last couple months- - he's won an nba title, became one of the league's highest paid players and this morning, he competed professionally in another sport. mark carpenter has more on the mvp's pro golf debut. (mark) one of those days where basketball and golf fans are all locked in on the same event. steph curry...teed off his professional golf career in the web-dot-com tour's 'ellie mae classic' --let's head out to hayward, it's all going down at tpc stonebrae. curry's tee time just before 9 and as you would expect, he had the largest cheering section. --the mvp started on the back nine. we pick it up on the 15th.. curry finding his groove... gets the birdie to drop... and he's making sure to soak it all in. --then we take it to the 18th... short game on point, 8-feet out and goes left to right to drop in the putt for par. then, he shows off the tiger fist
