"ya know, because we're neighbors he's a good friend of mine. so i decided to go over there and see if there was anything, ya know, suspicious."perhaps the only thing strange, was that whoever did itdidn't steal anything, or seem to enter the salon at all."the rock came flying in through here and it knocked all these products off."one of russell's theories has to do with this poster. it promotes a go fund me page for his husband, who has parkinson's and desperately needs stem cell treatment.he's pictured in the uniform he wore as a sheriff's deputy for contra costa county."could it be an act toward someone who didn't like the fact that there was a picture of a sheriff? unfortunately there are people out there that
4:10 am
don't like cops."another possible reason for targeting, russell says, could simply be that they are a gay, minority couple.recently two men berated a fremont store owner for flying a rainbow flag.and in march, an oakland restaurant's employees found what appeared to be feces on the door, which showcased signs in support of immigrants. but russell also knows the whole thingcould have just been a random act by a teenager who wasn't thinking. "now plywood is up covering the front door and the rock is one piece of physical evidence the police do have."they'll also be checking to see whether surveillance cameras from nearby businesses captures anythingthe owner is glad it was just the door, and not the massive front windows next to it.in lafayette, spencer blake, kron four news.
