(catherine) new reports say that north korea has successfully produced a small nuclear warheadthat can fit inside its missiles.. that prompted a fiery ultimatum from president trump.....in language that surprised some. the president was asked about that report today.....and the fact that north korea has launched two ballistic missiles in the last month.....and twelve in the past year. north korea has been threatening the u.s. again today....now claiming it's looking at a pre-emptive strike on guam - which is home to several u-s military bases. as for north korea's earlier threats -- this was president trump's response... pres. trump: north korea best not make any more threats to the united states. they will be met with fire and fury

( steve ) san francisco police have some new numers when it comes to police officers using force and when officers are attacked. these numbers are from january to march of this year... compared to the same time period last year. the number of uses of force dropped by 150... or almost 16 percent. and the number of assaults on officers went down by 45 percent. 80 were reported in 2016 versus 44 to begin 2017. we should also note... there has been a change in leadership. at the beginning 2016... greg suhr was chief. he resigned following a deadly shooting... toney chaplin was the interim chief at the beginning of the year. ( catherine ) happening tonight: the city of moraga is considering whether to declar a fiscal emergency. city leaders say they're hurting for money after a couple of expensive projects to repair roads damaged in storms. by declaring an emergency... they'd be able to raise fees without having to go through a vote. also... a fiscal emergency can be the first step a city takes in california before declaring

injuries are being taken more seriously. today-- those concerns took center stage at 49ers camp... as rookie linebacker donavin newsom left practice in an ambulance after suffering a concussion following a brutal collision. here's some early footage from today's session...and file video of newsom. he's number 48...an undrafted rookie out of missouri. this all happened outside of the window photographers are allowed to shoot, so we don't have actual footage of the play. team officials say newsom collided with fellow rookie chanceller james. newsom went unconcscious for a short period of time...and he was taken off the field on a stretcher. it was initially thought he sustained a neck injury, however, the 49ers tell us that tests revealed he suffered no cervical spine fractures. he is currently recovering at stanford medical center. head coach kyle shanahan discussed the incident after practice. when that happens it kind of puts everything in perspective for everyone. so you just try to end it and everyone knows the deal and what these guys do risk in the game. sometimes things like that happen and
