suspect was arrested and charged with possesion of child porn, and two-counts of distribution of child porn. back in july the s-f-pd- internet crimes against children unit launched a full on investigation against orobchenko. (steve) a big development tonight... in the massive loma fire ...which destroyed 12 homes and scorched nearly five thousand acres in santa clara county. investigators have determined the fire was caused by a portable generator located at a nearby marijuana farm. the specific area of the flames were narrowed down...and crews believe that one of three generators used at the pot farm... sparked the flames. tonight police are investigationg the legality of that marijuana grow. the blaze began back in september, 20-16...and burned for 16 days straight...forcing evacuation orders in the region. teve) squaw valley ski resort will have to pay up - for violating two workplace safety codes following an investigation into the death of a ski patroller. 42-year-old joe zuiches died back in january while workings avalanche control at the

resort. an investigation concluded - that the resort failed "to correct an identified unsafe working condition" in regards to hang cord the patrollers were using. fellow patrollers found zuiches dead... in the last place he was seen after a couple of explosive detonations spurred radio silence from him. the ski resort was fined nearly 21- thousand dollars. (vicki) a teen goes missing while hiking mount tam with a friend. (steve) the 16-year-old girl spent several hours alone in the dark - until search and rescue crews were able to safely locate her. kron four's terisa estacio shows us the reunion between the teen and her dad. a very scary night for a san francisco teenager -this is a picture of sarah jane tang- 16 years old - she was last seen wednesday night. her family called authorities extremely concerned when she called around 930 and said she was lost on mount tamalpais. sarah who goes to lowell high school in san francsico had been on the mountain with a friend and got separated. lt.

doug pittman, marin co. sheriff's dept. her cell phone had died, she got separated from another hiker. we launched search and rescue. and there is this searchers may have walked near her late at night - but the teen scared - hid. lt. pittman. it seems she did not know who it was so she was behind a tree and searchers kept going. lt. pittman says finally with a command post set up and a large group out combing the mountain - success, father and daughter were reunited. estacio - questions. did you just run out of a battery? are you ok? yes. back safe, the teen and her father very relieved to have this ordeal over with. in marin county, terisa estacio kron four news.

(vicki) thousands of dollars worth of football equipment is stolen from a high school in fremont. it happened at washington high school sometime in july, but the school just reported it yesterday. the thieves didn't even break a lock. the school left their gym open because construction is taking place at the site. they wanted construction crews to be able to move in and out of the facility. the burglars stole about 11-thousand dollars worth of equipment. about 15 helmets and 30 shoulder pads were taken from the football team. the upcoming football season could be in jeopardy because they might not have enough equipment. we now know the name of the suspecthayward police say drove at officers in a stolen vehicleprompting an officer to shoot at him. police have identified 26-year-old martin harlan as the culprit. on saturday evening,

officers say a man walked out of his house to find harlan stealing his truck. the victim called police and then got in another car to follow harlan. that's when he began shooting at the victim. when police arrived, harlan started driving towards police... forcing officers to open fire. harlan was eventually taken into custody. no one was injured. (steve) a san francisco couple says they have been terrorized multiple times by the same man in their neighborhood. here is surveillance video of one of the incidents in bernal heights. the couple has had their home burglarized, their car broken into, and packages stolen over several weeks. police believe one man may be responsible. the couple's home was burglarized last month. multiple items were stolen, including a 100-year-old necklace that was given to her by her great great grandmother. the couple says their peace of mind is what they want back the most. milana ram/burglarly victim:"i couldn't sleep for a week. i would wake up in the middle of the night, go check all the doors again. so i had too much

diego are on the lookout for a man accused of spiking a couple's water jug with a potential toxin. and it was all caught on camera. (steve) this is surveillance video from homeowners kristina (gone-yay) gagne and her wife. you can see the man has his back facing the camera... knowing he is being filmed. the couple said this happened in front of their house around midnight. the suspect is believed to have poured liquid plant food into the water. gagne says she is appalled that something like this would happen. (steve) police at first did not make police report until the homeowners shared the video and warned neighbors about this wanted man. police are looking at surveillance video and collecting any other evidence into this incident.

week at 32-year-old anton orob-chenko's home. investigators say he had several media devices with pictures and videos. it's not clear what led them to orob-chenko...but he's accused of uploading and trading child pornography on the internet. police say there could be victims out there and are asking for them to come forward. (catherine) a 16-year- old boy is in custody tonight - accused of shooting another teenagerin redwood city overnight.. police believe that at least one other person was involved....and say there could bemore arrests.. officers say the victim and suspect knew each other and there was no threat to the public. the shooting happened in the 3500 block of hoover street....apparently after a fight. neighbors and police agree that it's usually a quiet area... redwood police officer - when officers arrived they found an 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds he was transported to the hospital where he's undergoing surgery.it's unusual for this area. neighborhood residents -- it can be pretty exciting on a saturday night. but generally it's a pretty quiet

residential neighborhood. and i've never seen anything like this. i am pretty surprised. i certainly wouldn't expect a shooting around here. the 18-year-old was shot several times....and investigators have found a gun. as of this afternoon, the man was in critical but stable condition. ( steve ) we now know the suspect shot at by a hayward police officer over the weekend. 26-year-old martin harlan is currently in the alameda county jail. investigators say harlan sped toward officers in a stolen car toward on saturday night...prompting them to open fire. he crashed and started running.... after a brief foot chase... offficers caught him. harlan was not hit by anyof the bullets. hayward police say during their investigation... they learned harlan is suspected of shooting at stockton police officers in june. (steve) those first responders who rushed in when a gunman opened fire inside a san francisco u-p-s building

in june were honored today by the mayor for their heroism. 17 men and women were given commendations and heart shaped pins emblazoned with the city's seal. the heros included san francisco police officers, firefighters, sheriff deputies, dispatchers, members of the chp and the ucsf police department. we talked to some of those who were honored who say there were just doing their job. ái do feel honored that the mayor recognized us and humbled at the same time. it makes me want to do this job for the rest of my career, this is what i signed up for and although this is appreciated i would do it without the pin (steve) four ups workers will killed that day, including the gunman who shot himself. the mayor says the bravery of those first on the scene averted a potentially huge catastrophe. a town hall meeting with its employees set for this afternoon...it was supposed to focus on a viral internal memo that led to the firing of an engineer. the memo was posted on an internal company board but quickly spread across the internet... with some calling it sexist. according to google... bosses felt that now is not the right time for the conversation. some employees were named personally online and others are worried about asking candid questions given all the publicity right now. the now-fired engineer says he's already filed a labor complaint and is considering legal action against the company. be a powerful force. nature valley (steve) close to 10 grand worth of football equipment...stolen from a high school in fremont. it happened at washington high school sometime in july, but the school just reported it yesterday. the thieves didn't even break a lock. the school left their gym open because construction is taking place at the site. they wanted construction crews to be able to move in and out of the facility. the burglars stole about 9-thousand dollars

worth of equipment. about 15 helmets and 30 shoulder pads were taken from the football team. the upcoming football season could be in jeopardy because they might not have enough equipment. (catherine) california state officials have fined a popular ski resort for violating two workplace safety codes in connection to an employee's death in an avalanche.(catherine) the state says the squaw valley ski resort failed to correct and identify an unsafe working condition...and didn't make sure that employees knew about the problem. this comes after 42-year-old patroller joe (zoo-iches) zuiches died while working avalanche control in january. the ski resort was fined more than 20-thousand dollars. ( steve ) it is no secret the oakland a's want a new ballpark. tonight the move being made by the team to get everyone involved in the effort to find the perfect replacement for the coliseum.( catherine ) and it's the middle of summer but we're already talking n-b-a hoops. find out when the warriors will face their rivals - the

( steve ) kron 4's washington correspondent jessica smith reports a couple of senators say they're willing to work together -- but they won't compromise on certain issues. washington is gearing up for its next fight -- this time, over taxes. republican senator rob portman wants to change the tax code to spur wage growth, but he said the senate can't just give up on healthcare and move on to tax reform. sen. rob portman (r-oh): i think they go together. let's try to get these costs down on healthcare, and at the same time we let people take home a little more in their take-home pay, that's going to make a huge difference in our economy and for families in ohio and across the country. jessica smith reporting: democratic senators i talk to say they are worried tax reform will be the healthcare debate all over again. they don't want to see republicans try to pass a bill with only republican votes. republicans insist tax reform will be different. sen. rob

portman (r-oh): there's more agreement in the republican family on tax reform than there was on healthcare, and there's more bipartisan support of doing something to fix the broken tax code. democratic senator sherrod brown says he is willing to work with republicans on tax reform -- but he wants to focus on giving middle-class, working families a break. sen. sherrod brown (d-oh): if tax reform to the finance committee chair and the speaker of the house, is you give more tax cuts to the richest americans, i don't want to put that burden and blow a hole in the federal deficit.congress faces september deadlines to pass a federal budget and raise the debt ceiling. still, republican leadership hopes to pass a tax reform bill this fall. in washington, i'm jessica smith.
