- nancy pelosi is now asking the national park service to reconsider allowing an alt-right white supremacist rally to happen at san francisco's crissy field. pelosi releasing this statement this morning... quote - "i am deeply alarmed by the hateful and dangerous nature of the event, its timing so soon after the horrors in charlottesville, and the serious questions over whether the national park service is at all equipped to ensure public safety during a white supremacist rally. the crissy field event...a separate pro-trump rally is planned in berkeley. (grant) it's titled "no to marxism in america" -- and will be held at berkeley's martin luther king, jr. civic center. it will begin at one in the afternoon on sunday august 27th. that rally will be met with a counter protest at u-c berkeley. the "bay area rally against hate" is scheduled to take place at 10:30 in the morning. (grant) you may remember - earlier this year- a pro trump rally at civic center park in berkeley turned violent. several weapons were confiscated, 11 people were injured and seven of those people were taken to hospitals. 20 people were arrested during the april event. "blame, yes. i think there's blame on both sides. you look at you look at both sides i think there's blame on both sides and i have no doubt about it. and neither do you!" (grant) a website hosting company is fighting back against a department of justice search warrant. dreamhost claims the warrant would require them to turn over information on visitors to a website used to organize protests áagainst president trump. dreamhost said it's been working with the d-o-j to comply with legal process for months. it said federal prosecutors are seeking "all records" related to the website "disrupt j-20 dot org." the site organized protests against the trump administration in january. dreamhost says the request goes against the first amendment -- which guarantees freedom of speech. a court hearing on the matter is scheduled for friday.

ly, the beloved owner of a jim's liquors... who was gunned down on august 7th. the man accused of that murder was in court today. kron four's rob fladeboe is live at the hall of justice with the latest. rob? it's fairly standard procedure for the court to allow cameras into the courtroom for the arraignment of suspects in high interest cases like this one. but after approving our request the judge revoked the order without explanation and the arraignment went on as scheduled. this is the mug shot of 21 year-old muniunmee hendrix, who entered department 23 in handcuffs and chained at the waist. he is charged with

murder in the killing of this man, charlie ly, the owner of jim's liquors on quimby road in east san jose. police say hendrix was the masked man who walked into the liquor store a week ago monday night and shot and killed charlie ly after ly refused to open the cash register. hendrix then allegedly threatened to kill ly's wife as she was calling 911. identified on surveillance video and linked to a burglary, hendrix was arrested in merced last friday. there was a brief statement from deputy district attorney matt braker.matt braker/dep. district attorney "...this was an unbearable tragedy for the ly family and for the entire community, he was a store owner who was assassinated trying to defend his store and his family. he is facing one chargeof murder with the use of a gun and one charge of robbery with the use of a gun...."charlie ly's killing touched a nerve in the community as his now closed

store has seen a growing memorial and vigil in his name. several family members were in court tuesday but had no comment either before or after the hearing. before his arrest hendrix was on probation after pleading no contest for carrying a loaded gun in connection with an earlier case where he was initially charged with attempted murder only to see the charge reduced when he successfully argued he shot another man in self defense. (rob live) in a statement of facts, prosecutors said that when he was arrested hendrix was in possession of a 9mm handgun, a hooded sweatshirt with a logo, a bandana and a beanie. the same items can be seen in the surveillance video from the store that led to his

arrest. live in san jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news (vicki) the deportation of an east bay nurse is being delayed by one day. maria mendoza-sanchez, her husband and their son were scheduled to leave for mexico earlier this morning. their attorney says the oakland couple is now filing another stay of deportation request tomorrow. kron four's lydia pantazes reports from s- f-o with more on the couple. ( lydia ) maria mendoza- sanchez works with cancer patients at highland hospital. she and her husband eusebio have been in the u-s for nearly 30 years... they have raised their four children in oakland. but now they are being forced to leave. the couple has faced deportation since 2002... over the years they have endured hardships and have been granted stays. but their attorney says, they have now exhausted all options. an emotional maria spoke at the rally yesterday in oakland. "it's quite a complex issue, but i don't think that it's right. i don't

the campbell police department recently trained all officers to administer narcan nasal spray to help those who have overdosed on drugs. narcan is an emergency substance that counteracts the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose.the training and narcan supply was provided by santa clara county behavioral health services. statistics show that 91 americans die every day from an opioid overdose. (grant) a 22 year veteren of the san francisco police department is honored by his fellow officers and the city for saving a life of a 66 year old man last week. kron4's maureen kelly caught up with the officer... who is now being called a hero. a parade of officers walked down haight street in honor of officer robert fung.who marched in the lead surrounded by his wife and two sons. after which he was

saluted.and lauded via a special announcement over the police band.officer fung sf pd salute you for a job well done.at a special ceremony fung was praised by his superiorsi could not of been prouder of the response of officer fungthe san francisco native was working an overtime shift at a basketball showcase with steph curry here at kezar stadium last wednesday when he was alerted by someone in the stands that a spectator was having a heart attacki went into the b bleachers that i was looking for him and i saw that he was on the ground. and then someone was taking his pulse of the time and someone said hey he has no pulse so i so i turned his body to make sure he was flat on the bench and started the compressions at that time and i saw him gasping for airand not really breathing so i continued the compressions paramedics arrived and where able to revive the victim with a defibulatorthe rescue captain at the scene told officer fung the 66 year old man survived because of his actions.i'm just glad that he was able to go home and see his children and hopefully his grandchildren officer fung was given a special commmendation from the city.he says he did what any other officer would dobut is honored to be recognized. maureen kelly kron4 news

(vicki)three high school students have been arrested in connection with a disturbing rape case in monterey county. according to officials, a 14 year old girl was found unconscious on a sidewalk in greenfield suffering from "near lethal levels" of alcohol in her system. she was transported to a salinas hospital, where medical staff found evidence that she had been sexually assaulted.she was then flown to a bay area trauma center. police say the girl had been hanging out with several teenage boys as they drank hard liquor. officers say after the girl became unconscious from the alcohol, she was raped by a 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys. "this is awful. it's one of the worst assault cases we could possibly investigate. how two 16 year old boys and a 17 year old boy could do something like this and think they could get away with it." the boys were booked into

juvenile hall on rape and sexual assault charges. one of the boys is also under investigation for a similar incident that happened in july. a 12-year-old girl was found unconscious on a sidewalk with near deadly amounts of alcohol in her blood. there was no evidence that she had been sexually assaulted. investigators are hoping any other potential victims will come forward. a federal judge says fine jewelry company tiffany's is entitled to more than 19-million dollars... after costco was selling enagement rings using the name tiffany name. the jewelry company says they have lost profits since costco's decision. costco says tiffany was used as a generic term and the rings were not sold in the distinct blue boxes or bags. costco says it plans to repeal the ruling. defending the memo that got him fired.(vicki) in it he said there are fewer women in tech jobs partly because of "biological differences." catherine heenan is here with details on an interview damore has given to our partners at c- n-n... . (catherine) damore criticizes what he calls google's "politically correct monoculture." he was thrown out of his job after a 10-page memo he wrote was leaked to the public. google said he'd violated their code of conduct by "advancing harmful gender stereotypes." but damore argues that he's been misrepresented....and the company is intolerant of reasoned argument that doesn't fit its 'creed.' in an interview with cnn's tech reporter - he also argues that the company is psychologically 'unsafe' for conservatives.. james damore - many have either left because the culture is very alienating towards them or they're thinking about it because it's so bad.they don't believe they can bring their whole selves to google. and that it's a psychologically unsafe

are looking for three men who tried to tamper with an a-t-m and put some sort of device on it. the suspects are seen in these surveillance pictures. investigators say the trio walked into the 76 station on ignacio boulevard on friday night. they distracted the clerk and that is when the device was put on the a-t-m inside the store. the device was discovered a short time later and was removed by the clerk. it is not clear what the three suspects did... but based on similar crimes... it was likely they were trying to install a skimmer to steal customers' credit card information.
