acting bizarrely and challenging people to a fight. the person refused to listen to officers commands and went into a home where they armed themselves with a gun. police negotiated with the person for a few hours before a fire was lit inside the home and the person came out the home with a shotgun. that's when officers shot him. the person was pronounced dead at the scene. fire crews put out the fire inside the home. no officers or other people were hurt. we'll bring you more information on this story as it enters our newsroom.

two people had ties to human trafficking with minors. this happened near the corner of 27th and west streets at around 6:30 yesterday morning. a woman living at the home says she was woken up when law enforcement stormed her home. she says the authorities told her they were investigating her mother's janitorial business. (robin) investigators say this was a criminal investigation and is not related to immigration or deportation action. ( james ) at least 5 people were taken to the hospital after a multi car crash in oakland. these are new photos of the scene just into the kron four newsroom. police have temporarily closed part of international boulevard. police have not yet released any information on what led up to the crash. story in the east bay. an equipment issue at the shell martinez refinery led to flaring. it started at about 6:15 last night. the flaring was intermittent but it continues as the site returns to normal. (robin) in the south bay... grieving family members and neighbors showed up at the scene where two children and a grandfather were killed in a fire. the san jose community is coming together to do what they can for the victims' families after the tragedy. an aunt identified one of the children killed as 10-year-old linda van. the other child was a friend of hers.( james ) as kron 4's charles clifford explains investigators now are looking for a cause. it's been a very surreal day here at the golden wheel mobile home park as this tight knit neighborhood mourns the loss of three of their own. nats all day wednesday, neighbors, friends and family of the victims stopped by what remains of this home to pay their respects and leave

flowers at a growing memorial. sotaline mahoney lives a few doors down. she says everyone is stunned by this tragedy. she says the loss of two young girls is particularity painful. sotthey used to drive byciclyes around here every evening. laughing stuff like that.also on wednesday, the fire department, atf and san jose police sifted through what remains of the home looking for possible clues to what may have started the fire. meanwhile, neighbors continued to collect donations for the families of the victims.sot

guard who police say shot a suspected shoplifter has now been arrested. the shooting happened outside the burlington coat factory in san francisco. investigators say the guard confronted the suspected thief.. there was an argument the two moved outside and that is when the gunfire erupted. the victim is expected to recover. the guard is facing multiple criminal charges including assault with a firearm. (robin) happening now... police are looking for an armed man who robbed a gas station in vacaville. police are just releasing thiese images of who they are trying to identify. the armed robbery happened last friday at an "arco gas station" at nut tree road and alamo drive. police are hoping that someone is able to identify the man by the tattoo on his right arm. outrage on-line.sot we cannot hold him accountable for free speech outside of the work place ( james ) ( james ) two shootings in a span of 48 hours on highway 8-80 has people in the east bay on edge. the c-h-p says the latest incident marks 100 -shootings on bay area freeways since november of 20-15. take a look at where the 8-80 shootings have happened. the first one was on monday night when a driver was shot in the head on 8-80 in san leandro near lewelling boulevard. the second shooting happening a few miles south in hayward, near the highway 92 junction. this time police got a call about men hanging out of a car window and aiming a weapon at another car. the c-h-p says the victim was a teen girl. they say she was terrified and curled up in a ball to avoid being hit by a

(robin) a wildfire is growing in mariposa county near yosemite. the south - fork -fire has burned just under 23- hundred acres. right now it is five- percent contained. firefighters have told people in the area to be ready to evacuate. a command post has been set up at the wawona campgrounds. firefighters say, their main focus is protecting the community nearby and the giant sequoias in the area. there is no word yet on what caused the fire. ( james ) police are looking for a man who stabbed someone to death in san jose. police released this surveillance video of who they are trying to identify. the stabbing happened back in june near the corner of everglade avenue and king road. 63-year-old samuel choi was stabbed and died of his injuries eight days later. if you recgnize the person in the video you'e asked to call san jose police. ( james ) police have identified the man who is wanted for carjacking and kidnapping a woman in pleasant hill.(robin) as kron4's haaziq madyun reports police are warning the public the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. a frightening situation... a desperate car theft suspect speeding away from police

carjacks and kidnaps a woman sitting in traffic here on contra costa blvd in pleasant hill. on wednesday an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect 23-year-old vincent wilson of pleasant hill this all started monday around 7:19am in the city of martinez. martinez police investigators say they spotted a speeding vehicle here at morelo ave at center ave. officers later discovered the vehicle was stolen. martinez police started to pursue the driver in the speeding vehicle but called off the chase out of concern for public safety. investigators say the vehicle continued on at a high rate of speed then crashed into a vehicle in the intersection of viking drive at conttra costa blvd injuring the female driver and her two year old child, right outside the sun valley mall in pleasant hill. it was here that the alleged kidnapping and car jacking occurred

onto ruby i'm riding with officer kenneth cole mcdonald from the town of atherton police department looking for people behving badly behind the wheel in this case stop sign runners this driver wasn't even on our radar but. so i was actually going to pull over the car in front of you cause they didn't neither but then as i came up you just drove right throught it it wasn't just drivers. in woodside this bicyclist ran the stop sign and believe it or not if you ride a bike you must follow the rules of the road i thought i could stop physically without getting off the bike.. that's fine for me personally i give it to the rider it's kind of a pain to unclip however you didn't even come close to stopping officers also looked for speeders and on woodside road the speed limit is 35 but it wasn't difficult at all in fact this van was caught on lider by two seperate officers so as you were coming passing woodside high school i visually estimated your speed 50 miles per hour i used the little lidar device to confirm my visual estimation and it

detected in solano county. health officials confirmed that three mosquito samples collected from the suisun marsh tested positive for the virus. a sparrow found in northern vallejo also tested positive for west nile. it was also detected in walnut creek earlier this month. it was also detected in other parts of contra costa county and alameda county álast month. ( terisa ) firefighters are starting to make progress battling a growing wildfire near yosemite national forest. the south fork fire has burned just under 23- hundred acres in mariposa county.

before 9 last night on via deste. officers were called to the area after witnesses say a person was acting bizarrely and challenging people to a fight. the person refused to listen to officers commands and went into a home where they armed themselves with a gun. police negotiated with the person for a few hours before a fire was lit inside the home and the person came out the home with a shotgun. that's when officers shot him. the person was pronounced dead at the scene. fire crews put out the fire inside the home. or other people were hurt. we'll bring you more information on this story as it enters our newsroom.

raid in west oakland. homeland security says the two people had ties to human trafficking with minors. this happened near the corner of 27th and west streets yesterday morning. a woman living there says she was woken up when police stormed her home. she says police told her they were investigating her mother's janitorial business. ( mark ) people gathered outside the home shouting "shame" at federal agents as they left the home carrying boxes of evidence. investigators say this was a criminal investigation and is not related to immigration or deportation. ( terisa ) the security guard who police say shot a suspected shoplifter has been arrested. the shooting happened outside the burlington coat factory in san francisco. investigators say the guard confronted the

suspected thief. there was an argument... the two moved outside and that is when the guard opened fire. the victim is expected to recover. the guard is facing multiple criminal charges including assault with a firearm. ( terisa ) san mateo police arrest an oregon woman for stabbing her brother at a gas station. it happened at the shell gas station on south norfolk street. that is right off of highway 101 and east hillsdale avenue. police say it started with an argument and ended with the man stabbed. the woman took off but police were able to catch up with her. the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. hill. on wednesday an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect 23-year-old vincent wilson of pleasant hill this all started monday around 7:19am in the city of martinez. martinez police investigators say they spotted a speeding vehicle here at morelo ave at center ave. officers later discovered the vehicle was stolen. martinez police started to pursue the driver in the speeding vehicle but called off the chase out of concern for public safety. investigators say the vehicle continued on at a high rate of speed then crashed into a vehicle in the intersection of viking drive at conttra costa blvd injuring the female driver and her two year old child, right outside the sun valley mall in pleasant hill. it was here that the alleged kidnapping and car jacking occurred

( mark ) a bay area nurse and her husband are back in mexico this morning after a long legal battle to stay in the u-s. the couple who entered the country more than 20 years ago were deported overnight. kron 4 was at the airport last night when maria sanchez and her husband said goodbye to their family. sanchez was a nurse who helped cancer patients at highland hospital. her husband was a truck driver. both crossed the border illegally back in 1994. the couple will take their 12-year-old son with them but sanchez says the hardest thing is leaving behind their three older daughters.

(mark) a developing story in the east bay. an equipment issue at the shell martinez refinery has led to some flaring. it started at about 6:15 last night. the flaring was intermittent but it continues this morning as the site returns to normal. (terisa) a grieving community in san jose is coming together to help a family who lost a grandfather and two children in a fire. the fire happened on tuesday at the golden wheel mobile home park. the two children killed in the fire were 10-year-old girls who were best friends. one of the girls has been identified as 10-year-old linda van. the grandfather of one of the girls was also killed. neighbors and family of the victims have been creating a memorial where the fire happened. neighbors were also going door to door asking for donations to help the families. the fire department has not said what may have started this fire. witnesses say that they heard an explosion just before

( terisa ) happening now....west nile virus is detected in solano county. health officials confirmed that three mosquito samples collected from the suisun marsh tested positive for the virus. a sparrow found in northern vallejo also tested positive for west nile. it was also detected in walnut creek earlier this month. and several parts of contra costa county and alameda county álast month. (mark) firefighters are starting to make progress battling a growing wildfire near yosemite national forest. the south fork fire has burned just under 23- hundred acres in mariposa county. right now it is just five- percent contained. firefighters have told people in the area to be ready to evacuate. they say their main focus is protecting the community nearby and the giant sequoias in the area. there is no word yet on what caused the fire. they say the steep and rugged terrain

( mark ) in national news... another confederate monument has come down... this one in california. a plaque from the daughters of the confederacy was removed from a plaza in san diego. the plaque had been there since the 1950's. it honored confederate leader jefferson davis. ( mark ) that plaque was one of more than 15-hundred confederate symbols across the country.( terisa ) but since the charlottesville attack last weekend, confederate monuments have been coming down across the country. ( mark ) john lawrence has the details. a confederate statue of slavery defender roger taney doesn't ride off into the sunset....but rather is taken away in the early morning hours on a flatbed truck.mayor catherine pugh/d-baltimore"any city that has confederate statues are concerned about violence occurring in their city."baltimore removed all four of its confederate statues wednesday.other cities, including gainesville, florida and new york also removed confederate items over the past few days.but now this is going further than statues

jury indicted james matthew bradley yesterday. one of them was working to transport immigrants for financial gain leading to their deaths. the trailer was found last month inside a walmart parking lot in san antonio. eight people were found dead inside that trailer. two more died at the hospital. police say they died from the sweltering heat that reached up to 100 degrees that day. ( mark ) a killer whale at sea world in san diego has died. the killer whale named "kasatka" was euthanized tuesday night. the 42-year- old was being treated for lung disease, but her health got worse over the past few days. this is the third killer whale that's died this year at the animal theme park. the company says it has 21 killer whales left in all three of its locations in san diego, orlando and san antonio. this comes a year after sea world announced it was getting rid of its killer whale breeding in entertainment news....the production of the next mission impossible film has shut down.(ááávidboxesááá) you may remember earlier

this week we reported tom cruise breaking his ankle. paramount pictures says it is waiting until cruise fully recovers to start production again. cruise broke his ankle when he was trying to perform a stunt on sunday. it happened when cruise jumped from a building, hit the side and crawled over the top. the 55-year-old actor is known for doing most of his own stunts. the film is still scheduled to open on time. it will hit theaters in july 2018. emma stone has dethroned jennifer lawrence. she has been named hollywood's highest paid actress. . ( lydia ) it happened just before 9 last night on via deste. officers were called to the area after witnesses say a person was acting bizarrely and challenging people to a fight. the person refused to listen to officers commands and went into a home where they armed themselves with a gun. police negotiated with the person for a few hours before a fire was lit inside the home and the person

(terisa) the woman was not injured. investigators say a second person in the car involved in the chase was arrested at the

( mark ) a big story this morning... two undocumented immigrants were detained during a human trafficking raid in west oakland. homeland security says the two people had ties to human trafficking with minors. this happened near the corner of 27th and west streets yesterday morning. a woman living there says she was woken up when police stormed her home. she says police told her they were investigating her mother's janitorial business. ( mark ) people gathered outside the home shouting "shame" at federal agents as they left the home carrying boxes of evidence. investigators say this was a criminal investigation and is not related to immigration or deportation. who police say shot a suspected shoplifter has been arrested. the shooting happened outside the burlington coat factory in san francisco. investigators say the guard confronted the suspected thief. there was an argument... the two moved outside and that is when the guard opened fire. the victim is expected to recover. the guard is facing multiple criminal charges including assault with a firearm. (terisa) the nation-wide protests over google's firing of an employee who questioned the company's diversity efforts... have been postponed. according to the group's website... the "march on google" event planned for saturday has been canceled due to threats from extreme-left terrorist groups. the protest was to take place at google offices in nine locations across the country. there is no word if it will be rescheduled. (mark) san mateo police arrest an oregon woman for stabbing her brother at a gas station. it happened at the shell gas station on south norfolk street. that is right off of highway 101 and east hillsdale avenue. police say it started with an argument and ended with the man stabbed. the woman took off but police were able to catch up with her. the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. (mark) new this morning... a service dog that was stolen from a hayward parking lot has been returned to its owner. arthur renowitzky was with his dog at a grocery store on foothill boulevard when somebody snatched his dog. this was the second time that the dog named "love" has been taken from him. but kron 4 learned late last night that "love" was returned to arthur. city and woodside. so the reason i'm stopping you is the stop sign on hillbview and you also rolled the one right here onto ruby i'm riding with officer kenneth cole mcdonald from the town of atherton police department looking for people behving badly behind the wheel in this case stop sign runners this driver wasn't even on our radar but. so i was actually going to pull over the car in front of you cause they didn't neither but then as i came up you just drove right throught it it wasn't just drivers. in woodside this bicyclist ran the stop sign and believe it or not if you ride a bike you must follow the rules of the road i thought i could stop physically without getting off the bike.. that's fine for me personally i give it to the rider it's kind of a pain to unclip however you didn't even come close to stopping officers also looked for speeders and on woodside road the speed limit is 35 but it wasn't difficult at all in fact this van was caught on lider by two seperate officers so as you were coming passing woodside high school i visually estimated your speed
