(tiffany @ bam) a generous stranger has come forward to help a family torn apart by a fire. it was one week ago an uncle and two girls were killed in a san jose mobile home fire. now a man is donating a new home to the family. kron'4s j-r stone talked to the donor and has the story. sottears from the mother of ten year old thao-uyen. a young girl who was killed in this san jose fire along with two othersincluding her best friend linda. her brother, who wasn't home at the time of the fire, says the last week has been tough. he still remembers when he first arrived back home after the fire.sotwhile those in the community have brought items to remember those losttodd su

(tiffany) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman . now they have released surveillance pictures of who they are looking for. it happened around 6-45 tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. according to police the person grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. that's when the woman screamed scaring the person who ran away. police say neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got there. told investigators he beat her -- and thought he may have killed her. now the sonoma county family is wondering why the suspect was even out on the street in the first place. as kron4's terisa estacio explains -- the man had just got out of jail for a previous domestic violence arrest. (estacio reporting) 2 08 i want justice for my family - and for my daughters. gerardo lopez says his ex-wife veronica ramierez was a devoted parent and now his two teenage daughters you see here in this picture are without their loving mother. and he adds, it all could have been prevented. this is suspect nery isreal estrada. he was arrested back on august 2 on domestic abuse charges for allegedly striking ramierez. in custody, his fingerprints flagged him as an undocumented person who had been deported before to guatalama in 2008. federal immigration officials contacted sonoma officials and

bart riders after a train operator is attacked by a passenger the latest incident occurred tuesday night at the dublin-pleasanton bart station. police say the operator woke the sleeping passenger up and asked him to leave an out-of-service train. that's when bart says 30- year-old myron mixon punched the operator. the woman was treated at a hospital for head injuries. mixon was later arrested and is banned from all bart stations. (tiffany) bart says mixon's ban could last anywhere from 30- days to a year. in addition to jail time he may also be fined up to 10-thousand dollars for assaulting a bart employee. mixon is scheduled to be arraigned (tiffany) take a look at this... the quick thinking of bart commuters helped save a man's life who went onto the

(tiffany) another big story we are following this morning... oakland police are asking for your help to solve a double homicide that happened last august. oakland police homicide detectives called on the community... to help find the killers of 22-year-old terrence mc-crary and 20- year-old craig fletcher-cooks. both men were shot to death last year at a party on 15th street in downtown oakland. investigators say the shooting started after fletcher-cooks tried to protect his girlfriend from four men who started harrassing her. critically injured during in the shooting but survived. oakland police and crime stoppers are offering a $25-thousand-dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. (tiffany @ bam) back to our top story this morning. despite resistance from local leaders, two rallies organized by conservative groupswill be allowed to go forward this weekend. so who's behind the effort? turns out both the freedom rally on saturday and the "no to marxism" rallyon sunday in berkeley are being organized by a group of leaders across the country. one of them is this man, ansen hatcher. he is a former marine living in idaho who decided to help after seeing violence take place at other rallies. ansen is a married father living in idaho who says, the symbols of hateand division like the nazi flag and weapons are not what this weekend's gatheringis about. and they're discouraging people from bringing that to these events.

police in the east bay are looking for a motorcycle driver who hit a jogger in contra costa county. it happened last night on wildcat canyon road just west of inspiration point near orinda. (ááátriggerááá) police say the jogger was left with life threatening injuries. witnesses say the motorcycle was driving at high speeds and was crossing the double yellow line. police do not have a description of the bike. witnesses say the driver was wearing a yellow helmet and was last seen driving west on wildcat canyon road towards berkeley. police say a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in rhonert park. this is a picture of the damage to the truck. this happened last night in front of university square on snyder lane. the driver of the green truck was arrested and booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter. ( tiffany ) happening today... the man accused of attacking a bart train operator will be in court to answer to assault charges. the latest incident happened at the dublin-pleasanton bart station. police say the operator woke a sleeping passenger up... and asked him to leave an out-of-service train. bart police say 30-year-old myron mixon then punched the operator. the woman was treated for severe head injuries. mixon was later arrested. in addition to jail time... he also faces a possible fine of up to 10-thousand dollars for assaulting a bart employee.

( mark ) happening today - the state of california could take a big step towards resuming executions. later today the state supreme court in san francisco is expected to issue a ruling on proposition 66. the measure was approved by voters last november and would would speed up the state's death penalty system. after the measure was passe, a group filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the proposition. there are nearly 750 inmates on death row in california and only 13 have been executed since 1978.

( tiffany ) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman. now they have released surveillance pictures of the man they are looking for. it happened tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. the man grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. the woman screamed... scaring the attacker away. neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got there. an immigration hold confessed to killing his girlfriend just weeks after being set free in sonoma county. veronica ramirez died last friday. her boyfriend nery estrada turned himself in and reportedly confessed to killing her after a heated argument. earlier this month estrada was arrested on domestic abuse charges. immigration officials contacted sonoma county sheriff's deputies and requested they be notified if he posted bail. two weeks after estrada posted bail, ramirez was killed. the victim's ex-husband says if law enforcement had done their job then the mother of two would still be alive. the latest incident happened at the dublin-pleasanton bart station. police say the operator woke a sleeping passenger up... and asked him to leave an out-of-service train. bart police say 30-year-old myron mixon then punched the operator. the woman was treated for severe head injuries. mixon was later arrested. in addition to jail time... he also faces a possible fine of up to 10-thousand dollars for assaulting a bart employee. ( mark ) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman. now they have released surveillance pictures of the man they are looking for. it happened tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. the man grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. the woman screamed... scaring the attacker away. neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got ( tiffany ) more than one -thousand people in the south bay have signed an online petition calling for the removal of a christopher columbus statue. the statue is inside san jose's city hall. those behind the petition argue columbus was guilty of genocide and

( mark ) a participant in the violent white supremacist rally in charlottesville, virginia has turned himself in. university of virginia police had warrants out for chris cantwell's arrest for his role in the violent rally almost two weeks ago. one counter protester was killed at that rally. cantwell is accused of illegally using tear gas at the rally and causing great bodily harm. ( mark ) the city of san francisco is bracing for violence after the national park service approved the permit for a wihte nationalist rally this weekend at crissy field. the group "patriot prayer" is behind the rally which is scheduled for 2:00 saturday afternoon. counter protesters are also expected to show up. the park service released a statement saying that issuing the permit increases their ability to ensure public safety. ( mark ) a bay area rapper is going to perform at the white nationalist rally in san francisco this weekend. montrell harris goes by the stage name "work dirty". he spent over a decade performing all over the bay area, rapping about his life on the streets of vallejo. "work dirty" says he was invited to perform at the alt-right rally at crissy field in an effort to display the event's diversity. he says he doesn't get involved in politics, but knows plenty of people of all races who are supporters of president trump.

station. and two cars were stolen from the concord station. all of the crimes happened after 5:00 last night. nobody was ( mark ) another big story we are following this morning. oakland police are asking for your help to solve a double homicide that happened last august. detectives are looking for the people who killed 22-year-old terrence mc- crary and 20-year-old craig fletcher-cooks. both men were shot to death last year at a party on 15th street in downtown oakland. investigators say the shooting started after fletcher-cooks tried to protect his girlfriend from four men who started harrassing ( mark ) a third victim was injured

during in the shooting but survived. oakland police and crime stoppers are offering a 25-thousand-dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. ( tiffany ) a family in the north bay is demanding answers after a woman was murdered. a man wanted on an immigration hold confessed to killing his girlfriend just weeks after being set free in sonoma county. veronica ramirez died last friday. her boyfriend nery estrada turned himself in and reportedly confessed to killing her after a heated argument. earlier this month estrada was arrested on domestic abuse charges. immigration officials contacted sonoma county sheriff's deputies and requested they be notified if he posted bail. two weeks after estrada posted bail, ramirez was killed. the victim's ex-husband says if law enforcement had done their job then the mother of two would still be alive.

a cleveland jersey right now if the cavaliers general manager had it his way. before kyrie irving was traded to the boston celtics, the cavaliers reached out to the warriors about a possible deal. ( tiffany an east bay family is heartbroken after their dog goes missing from a pet grooming salon in oakland. it happened at "after hours grooming" on park boulevard. the groomer says the one year old yorkshire terrier named "saucey" slipped out of her restaint, jumped off the grooming table and escaped thru a small hole in a door. saucey's owner and her family confronted the groomer about the disappearance because they feel she hasn't helped look for the dog. ( tiffany ) a high school student in milwaukee is under arrest this morning after beating up his teacher during class. the attack was all captured on cell phone camera. the student first pushes the teacher, then he goes on to punch him in the face. police say the case against the 16-year-old should be handed over to prosecutors as soon as possible. he could be charged with battery to a school district ( mark ) singer kid rock slammed former 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick during his concert at the iowa state fair. rock was in the middle of his song "born free" when he brought up the fact that football season is about to start. he used vulgar terms to describe kaepernick and his protest of the national anthem. this isn't the first time rock has dissed kaepernick. he was caught on video last year using the same vulgar terms to describe the quarterback.
