(tiffany @ bam) a generous stranger has come forward to help a family torn apart by a fire. it was one week ago an uncle and two girls were killed in a san jose mobile home fire. now a man is donating a new home to the family. kron'4s j-r stone talked to the donor and has the story. sottears from the mother of ten year old thao-uyen. a young girl who was killed in this san jose fire along with two othersincluding her best friend linda. her brother, who wasn't home at the time of the fire, says the last week has been tough. he still remembers when he first arrived back home after the fire.sotwhile those in the community have brought items to remember those losttodd su

did something unique. he is the ceo of advantage homes and decided to donate a manufactored home.sot thao-uyen's family, who doesn't speak english, says they are greatful for everyone in the community. thankful for the new home that will be built and thankful for other money that has come in and will go towards funeral and cleanup costs. su, who is vietnamese like the victims, says he feels for the families involved here.sot(j.r.)the family says thank you to those who donated but they will not be accepting anymore after tonight. a service will be held here tomorrow and cleanup here should start later this week. cause of this fire is still under investigation. live in san jose, j.r. stone kron 4 news.

(tiffany) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman . now they have released surveillance pictures of who they are looking for. it happened around 6-45 tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. according to police the person grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. that's when the woman screamed scaring the person who ran away. police say neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got there. (tiffany @ bam) a family is demanding answers. this after a woman died after police say her former lover

told investigators he beat her -- and thought he may have killed her. now the sonoma county family is wondering why the suspect was even out on the street in the first place. as kron4's terisa estacio explains -- the man had just got out of jail for a previous domestic violence arrest. (estacio reporting) 2 08 i want justice for my family - and for my daughters. gerardo lopez says his ex-wife veronica ramierez was a devoted parent and now his two teenage daughters you see here in this picture are without their loving mother. and he adds, it all could have been prevented. this is suspect nery isreal estrada. he was arrested back on august 2 on domestic abuse charges for allegedly striking ramierez. in custody, his fingerprints flagged him as an undocumented person who had been deported before to guatalama in 2008. federal immigration officials contacted sonoma officials and

requested they be notified if he posted bail. this is sonoma county sheriffs spokesperson sgt. spencer crumb. sgt. spencer crumb, sonoma county sheriff's dept. "we notified the victim, then ice and then when his bail was verified he was released. again, that was on august 2, then this past friday, 2 weeks later, estrada went to the santa rosa police department and turned himself in reportedly confessing that in a heated argument with ramierez he had killed her.

(tiffany) u-c berkeley police are also searching for a the person they say stole several cell phones and wallets from the university's gym. ... it happened last wednesday around 6. police say when a gym employee confronted the man he threatened that employee with a gun. fearing for her safety the employee let the person leave the building. he was last seen on bancroft way. bart riders after a train operator is attacked by a passenger the latest incident occurred tuesday night at the dublin-pleasanton bart station. police say the operator woke the sleeping passenger up and asked him to leave an out-of-service train. that's when bart says 30- year-old myron mixon punched the operator. the woman was treated at a hospital for head injuries. mixon was later arrested and is banned from all bart stations. (tiffany) bart says mixon's ban could last anywhere from 30- days to a year. in addition to jail time he may also be fined up to 10-thousand dollars for assaulting a bart employee. mixon is scheduled to be arraigned (tiffany) take a look at this... the quick thinking of bart commuters helped save a man's life who went onto the

trackway for unknown reasons. this happened monday afternoon at the civic center bart station. people immediately started waving to alert the operator of the oncoming train. the train operator hit the emergency button, and stopped several car lengths from where the man was on the trackway. officers detained the man who was given a psyclological evaluation. (tiffany) another big story we are following this morning... oakland police are asking for your help to solve a double homicide that happened last august. oakland police homicide detectives called on the community... to help find the killers of 22-year-old terrence mc-crary and 20- year-old craig fletcher-cooks. both men were shot to death last year at a party on 15th street in downtown oakland. investigators say the shooting started after fletcher-cooks tried to protect his girlfriend from four men who started harrassing her. (tiffany) a third victim was

critically injured during in the shooting but survived. oakland police and crime stoppers are offering a $25-thousand-dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. (tiffany @ bam) more than one -thousand people in the south bay have signed an online petition calling for the removal of a christopher columbus statue. the statue currently stands inside san jose's city hall. those behind the petition argue columbus was guilty of genocide and enslaved indigenous people and should not occupy such a prominent place on public property. (tiffany) san jose city councilman robert

perales is said to be drafting a memo. suggesting a possible re-location of the statue. (tiffany @ bam) in the east bay.... concern is growing among the jewish community. for the second time in a week a hateful message was found. this time at a synagogue in piedmont. as kron4's justine wadlman reports -- some believe it's related to the upcoming alt-right rally. the hate speech stickers are long gone.. and their message is not sticking eithersot they were 2 inches tall and 3 inches wide and there were three of themthey were found on the front glass sign at kehilla community synagogue on grand aveune last thursday.sot the first one said marxism is murder and our understanding is that is some of the langue being used for the rallies in berkeley on sundayexecutive director michael saxe-taller tells me the other stickers said racist things about black

hijab with a threatening message. last week, vandals smashed windows at temple israel in alameda. police have not yet made any arrests in these incidents. (tiffany @ bam) back to our top story this morning. despite resistance from local leaders, two rallies organized by conservative groupswill be allowed to go forward this weekend. so who's behind the effort? turns out both the freedom rally on saturday and the "no to marxism" rallyon sunday in berkeley are being organized by a group of leaders across the country. one of them is this man, ansen hatcher. he is a former marine living in idaho who decided to help after seeing violence take place at other rallies. ansen is a married father living in idaho who says, the symbols of hateand division like the nazi flag and weapons are not what this weekend's gatheringis about. and they're discouraging people from bringing that to these events.

bay area pet groomer is offering a reward to help get the dog back. kron4's maureen kelly has the details after the dog owner and her family got into a heated confrontation with the groomer over the dog's disappearance. we felt you were very uncompassionate to us and our dog. you were careless with our dogit wasn't careless.the woman on the left hand side of the screen is the owner of after hours grooming on park blvd in oakland. that's where this one year old yorkshire terrier named saucey was dropped off last friday..the last time anyone has seen her. your dog jumped off the table she back out the news the table and jumped off the table and ranthe ownerwho is disabled and says saucey was her therapy dog..i actually did think something horrible happened to her the dog just don't disappearthe dog owner and her family brought some of saucey's siblings to the shop where they confronted the groomer.angry about the dog's disapperance and because they feel she hasn't been looking hard enough for the missing dog.you had no compassion.i did you just didn't see my

broadcaster robert lee is not working the university's season opener because of recent violence in charlottesville. plans to remove a statue of confederate general robert e lee led to a protest in charlottesville. an e-s-p-n spokesperson says the decision was made "simply because of the coincidence of his name." an administrator at the academy of art in san francisco says the company's decision is ridiculous. (tiffany) lee has been moved to another college football game in pittsburgh. the company says it's a shame that this is even a topic of conversation. (tiffany) now to

police in the east bay are looking for a motorcycle driver who hit a jogger in contra costa county. it happened last night on wildcat canyon road just west of inspiration point near orinda. (ááátriggerááá) police say the jogger was left with life threatening injuries. witnesses say the motorcycle was driving at high speeds and was crossing the double yellow line. police do not have a description of the bike. witnesses say the driver was wearing a yellow helmet and was last seen driving west on wildcat canyon road towards berkeley. police say a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in rhonert park. this is a picture of the damage to the truck. this happened last night in front of university square on snyder lane. the driver of the green truck was arrested and booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter. ( tiffany ) happening today... the man accused of attacking a bart train operator will be in court to answer to assault charges. the latest incident happened at the dublin-pleasanton bart station. police say the operator woke a sleeping passenger up... and asked him to leave an out-of-service train. bart police say 30-year-old myron mixon then punched the operator. the woman was treated for severe head injuries. mixon was later arrested. in addition to jail time... he also faces a possible fine of up to 10-thousand dollars for assaulting a bart employee.

( tiffany ) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman. now they have released surveillance pictures of the man they are looking for. it happened tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. the man grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. the woman screamed... scaring the attacker away. neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got there. ( tiffany ) more than one -thousand people in the south bay have signed an online petition calling for the removal of a christopher columbus statue. the statue is inside san jose's city hall. those behind the petition argue columbus was guilty of genocide and enslaved indigenous people and

should not occupy such a prominent place on public property. ( tiffany ) san jose city councilman robert perales is drafting a memo suggesting a possible re- location of the statue. ( mark ) a participant in the violent white supremacist rally in charlottesville, virginia has turned himself in. university of virginia police had warrants out for chris cantwell's arrest for his role in the violent rally almost two weeks ago. one counter protester was killed at that rally. cantwell is accused of illegally using tear gas at the rally and causing great bodily harm. ( mark ) a bay area rapper is going to perform at the white nationalist rally in san francisco this weekend. montrell harris goes by the stage name "work dirty". he spent over a decade performing all over the bay area, rapping about his life on the streets of vallejo. "work dirty" says he was invited to perform at the alt-right rally at crissy field in an effort to display the event's diversity. he says he doesn't get involved

in politics, but knows plenty of people of all races who are supporters of president

last august. detectives are looking for the people who killed 22-year-old terrence mc- crary and 20-year-old craig fletcher-cooks. both men were shot to death last year at a party on 15th street in downtown oakland. investigators say the shooting started after fletcher-cooks tried to protect his girlfriend from four men who started harrassing ( mark ) a third victim was injured during in the shooting but survived. oakland police and crime stoppers are offering a 25-thousand-dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. ( tiffany ) a family in the north bay is demanding answers after a woman was murdered. a man wanted on

an immigration hold confessed to killing his girlfriend just weeks after being set free in sonoma county. veronica ramirez died last friday. her boyfriend nery estrada turned himself in and reportedly confessed to killing her after a heated argument. earlier this month estrada was arrested on domestic abuse charges. immigration officials contacted sonoma county sheriff's deputies and requested they be notified if he posted bail. two weeks after estrada posted bail, ramirez was killed. the victim's ex-husband says if law enforcement had done their job then the mother of two would still be alive. ( tiffany ) sonoma county officilas say they told i-c-e about the man's potential release. but immigration officials say it was not enough notice and that is why they did not pick

him up. estrada faces murder and domestic violence charges ( mark ) an east bay family is heartbroken after their dog goes missing from a pet grooming salon in oakland. it happened at "after hours grooming" on park boulevard. the groomer says the one year old yorkshire terrier named "saucey" slipped out of her restaint, jumped off the grooming table and escaped thru a small hole in a door. saucey's owner and her family confronted the groomer about the disappearance because they feel she hasn't helped look for the dog. ( lydia )the victim of the hit and run is here at john muir medical center in walnut creek and has life threatening injuries.the incident happened yesterday at 6:35 pm on wildcat canyon point just west of inspiration point in contra costa county.witnesses say a man was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed and driving over the solid yellow lines to pass traffic when he hit a man jogging.witnesses say the man on the motorcycle never slowed down as he continued westbound on wildcat canyon toward berkeley.

( mark ) back here in the bay area... there is growing concern among the jewish community in the east bay after a hateful message was found for the second time in a week.( tiffany ) this time the messages were on stickers at a synagogue in piedmont. kron4's justine wadlman has the details. the hate speech stickers are long gone.. and their message is not sticking eithersot they were 2 inches tall and 3 inches wide and there were three of themthey were found on the front glass sign at kehilla community synagogue on grand aveune last thursday.sot the first one said marxism is murder and our understanding is that is some of the langue being used for the rallies in berkeley on sundayexecutive director michael saxe-taller tells me the other stickers said racist things about black people.and that the stickers appeared to share the hate

( tiffany@ landing ) severe typhoon hato has slammed into hong kong. the hurricane force winds blew out windows and caused serious flooding. hato turned up water across the island's coastline and triggered large swells and massive waves on some of hong kong's most popular beaches. the city was brought to a standstill, and hong kong's observatory issued a maximum hurricane warning for the first-time in 5 years. ( mark ) back in the u-s... states across the south a preparing for a possible

hurricane. right now the storm is just a tropical depression but it is expected to keep strengthening and could become a hurricane by the time it makes landfall in texas on friday. the texas governor has already declared a state of emergency. and people spent the day yesterday putting sandbags in front of their homes and businesses as they prepare for the worst. ( mark ) el cerrito police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to sexually assault a woman. now they have released surveillance pictures of the man they are looking for. it happened tuesday night on stockton avenue and balra drive. the man grabbed the woman and tried to assault her. the woman screamed... scaring the attacker away. neighbors heard her scream and saw the man take off. he was gone by the time police got ( tiffany ) more than one -thousand people in the south bay have signed an online petition calling for the removal of a christopher columbus statue. the statue is inside san jose's city hall. those behind the petition argue columbus was guilty of genocide and

enslaved indigenous people and should not occupy such a prominent place on public property. ( tiffany ) san jose city councilman robert perales is drafting a memo suggesting a possible re- location of the statue. ( mark ) a participant in the violent white supremacist rally in charlottesville, virginia has turned himself in. university of virginia police had warrants out for chris cantwell's arrest for his role in the violent rally almost two weeks ago. one counter protester was killed at that rally. cantwell is accused of illegally using tear gas at the rally and causing great bodily harm. ( tiffany ) in the south bay. a generous stranger has come forward to help a family torn apart by tragedy.( mark ) it was one week ago that an uncle and two girls were killed in a san jose

mobile home fire. now a man is donating a new home to the family.( tiffany ) kron'4s j-r stone has the story. sottears from the mother of ten year old thao-uyen. a young girl who was killed in this san jose fire along with two othersincluding her best friend linda. her brother, who wasn't home at the time of the fire, says the last week has been tough. he still remembers when he first arrived back home after the fire.sotwhile those in the community have brought items to remember those losttodd su did something unique. he is the ceo of advantage homes and decided to donate a manufactored home.sot thao-uyen's family, who

doesn't speak english, says they are greatful for everyone in the community. thankful for the new home that will be built and thankful for other money that has come in and will go towards funeral and cleanup costs. su, who is vietnamese like the victims, says he feels for the families involved here.sot(j.r.)the family says thank you to those who donated but they will not be accepting anymore after tonight. a service will be held here tomorrow and cleanup here should start later this week. cause of this fire is still under investigation. live in san jose, j.r. stone kron 4 news. ( mark ) the city of san francisco is bracing for violence after the national park service approved the permit for a wihte nationalist rally this weekend at crissy field. the group "patriot prayer" is behind the rally which is scheduled for 2:00 saturday afternoon. counter protesters are also expected to show up. the park service released a statement saying that issuing the permit increases their ability to ensure public safety. ( mark ) a bay area rapper is going to perform at the white nationalist rally in san francisco this weekend. montrell harris goes by the stage name "work dirty". he spent over a decade performing all over the bay area, rapping about his life on the streets of vallejo. "work dirty" says he was invited to perform at the alt-right rally at crissy field in an effort to display the event's diversity. he says he doesn't get involved in politics, but knows plenty of people of all races who are supporters of president trump.

supporting nobody that that's racist or bigoted or sexist or anything like that. "we're not coming there for any negativity, we're not coming there to get into it with naybody.">( mark ) "work dirty" says controversy isn't going to keep him from performing at saturday's rally. (tiffany @ landing) one of president trump's harshest critics in congress is local representative jackie speier . she continues to argue that the president should be removed from office. she sat down with kron four's catherine heenan to talk about why she thinks it's time to invoke the 25th amendment. that will allow the vice- president and a majority of the cabinet to declare the president unable to "discharge the powers and duties of his office":

station. and two cars were stolen from the concord station. all of the crimes happened after 5:00 last night. nobody was ( mark ) another big story we are following this morning. oakland police are asking for your help to solve a double homicide that happened last august. detectives are looking for the people who killed 22-year-old terrence mc- crary and 20-year-old craig fletcher-cooks. both men were shot to death last year at a party on 15th street in downtown oakland. investigators say the shooting started after fletcher-cooks tried to protect his girlfriend from four men who started harrassing ( mark ) a third victim was injured

during in the shooting but survived. oakland police and crime stoppers are offering a 25-thousand-dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. ( tiffany ) a family in the north bay is demanding answers after a woman was murdered. a man wanted on an immigration hold confessed to killing his girlfriend just weeks after being set free in sonoma county. veronica ramirez died last friday. her boyfriend nery estrada turned himself in and reportedly confessed to killing her after a heated argument. earlier this month estrada was arrested on domestic abuse charges. immigration officials contacted sonoma county sheriff's deputies and requested they be notified if he posted bail. two weeks after estrada posted bail, ramirez was killed. the victim's ex-husband says if law enforcement had done their job then the mother of two would still be alive.

streets ever again. > sonoma county officilas say they told i-c-e about the man's potential release. but immigration officials say it was not enough notice and that is why they did not pick him up. estrada faces murder and domestic violence charges ( mark ) we are learning new details about the california man who killed his five-year-old son after a trip to disneyland. police say aramazd andressian senior smothered his son with the child's jacket last april as a way to get back at his ex- wife. initially the father denied doing it but pleaded guilty to first- degree murder. the young boy's mother spoke in court yesterday as her ex-husband was sentenced.

father was sentenced to 25-years to life in prison for his son's murder. ( tiffany an east bay family is heartbroken after their dog goes missing from a pet grooming salon in oakland. it happened at "after hours grooming" on park boulevard. the groomer says the one year old yorkshire terrier named "saucey" slipped out of her restaint, jumped off the grooming table and escaped thru a small hole in a door. saucey's owner and her family confronted the groomer about the disappearance because they feel she hasn't helped look for the dog. ( tiffany ) the groomer says she's been threatened on social media because of the dog's disappearance. saucey's owner is offering a five- thousand dollar reward for her

return. ( tiffany ) a high school student in milwaukee is under arrest this morning after beating up his teacher during class. the attack was all captured on cell phone camera. the student first pushes the teacher, then he goes on to punch him in the face. police say the case against the 16-year-old should be handed over to prosecutors as soon as possible. he could be charged with battery to a school district ( mark ) singer kid rock slammed former 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick during his concert at the iowa state fair. rock was in the middle of his song "born free" when he brought up the fact that football season is about to start. he used vulgar terms to describe kaepernick and his protest of the national anthem. this isn't the first time rock has dissed kaepernick. he was caught on video last year using the same vulgar terms to describe the quarterback. ( mark ) the n- double-a-c-p wants a meeting with nfl commissioner roger goodell to discuss the fate of colin kaepernick. the

association wants to discuss first amendment rights surrounding the former niners quarterback. kaepernick chose not to stand for the national anthem last year to protest the treatment of people of color, particularly by police. the n-double- a-c-p claims because kaepernick hasn't been signed by a team this year...the league is black-balling him. ( mark ) and last night protesters gathered in new york...outside n-f-l headquarters-- lending their support to kaepernick. they want a team to give him a chance at making a roster this season.
