"we intend to mobilize as many people as possible saturday and sunday."one cal student on campus told me he saw both the pros and cons of anti-fascists showing up even after cummings' cancellation."i feel like if it was a bit more organized as to how they're going to do it, exactly, as to bringing them all to a hall to speak on something, you can avoid some kind of violence." in anticipation of demonstrators still arriving without a leader, police banned a long list of specific items that have been or could be used to hurt other people. things like poles, sticks, shields, and eggs are on the list. "the ordinance and the language of the ordinance is so over-broad that anything could be considered potentially a weapon." (looklive)signs posted around campus have offered an alternative solution to the aniticipated violence of the event - they say counter protesters should have their even scheduled on a separate day to keep opposing sides away from each other.in berkeley, spencer blake, kron four news.
