police arrested issac david brown on your left and raymond gabriel on your right. but police delayed announcing the arrests so they could contact witnesses to help them identify the suspects. the shooting happened near san jose state university. one of the victims died at the hospital -- the other died a few days later. authorities havent released many details, including the motive of the shootings. both men are scheduled to be in court on september seventh. ( marty ) the fight over the death penalty in california is now shifting to the method of execution. if approved, revised regulation would allow death row inmates to be executed using one of two different drugs or the gas chamber. california corrections officials filed the revised regulations one day after the state supreme court upheld a measure that would speed up the appeal process. executions have been on hold for over a decade due to numerous legal challenges to the state's process. the last time a prisoner was

back to a big story we are following this morning... huge crowds in san francisco responding to a "patriot prayer" rally that was cancelled. civic center plaza filled with counter- protesters for what became an upbeat celebration of love and tolerance. ( marty ) it was a busy day of mostly peaceful demonstrations. police made only one arrest in the city, at alamo square for public intoxication. here's a look at the massive crowd of anti-hate demonstrators on market street saturday afternoon. that was just one of several counter protests to the right-wing rally that ended up fizzling. kron4's maureen kelly talked to those who took to the streets. barricades and police officers could be seen on the streets surrounding the location of the second scrapped patriot prayer gathering. it left these two who wanted to counter protest with a pillow fight.without a place to go.
