(tiffany) that was ella sogomonian reporting. we continue our team coverage this morning with kron 4's spencer blake... who saw that despite strict rules and multiple police security checkpoints... things still got out of hand. this was just one of the more than a dozen arrests berkeley police made sunday at the anti-hate rally at civic center park.and it was one that brought ire from protesters."what makes me mad is the police, they're defending the nazis, but tackling everyone else. they're escorting the nazis peacefully because they know they're not welcome."police and right-wingers weren't the only recipients of judgment, though.multiple people at this anti-hate and bigotry rally told me that i, as a clean-cut white man wearing a shirt and

"i like what's happening here. i think there needs to be more awareness of what trump's up to and what the neo-nazis are up to." berkeley mayor jesse arreguin

the rally in berkeley he told me he planned to attend...we asked him why?"so i'm just going to observe the situation and see what's happening, i don't want to just leave, i want to see. we have americans going into berkeley today and i don't want to just leave, i want to observe the situation and go from there."but once he got to the rally, the crowd chased gibson and his supporters out of the park... even getting hit by some type of spray, then a fight starts and the crowd chases him down the street.(nats)the same thing happened to several other people believed to be associated with right wing groups or known supporters of president trump.protesters chased them out of the park... protesters by going inside the berkeley police department.and while there were more than a dozen arrests, most of the protesters were remained peaceful."i mean there's some people out to cause trouble but the titanic majority are out to spread love and support each other." "this is unprecedented, there's a lot of rain, which neighborhood would you have to evacuate? every neighborhood, every community received water in the community, every bayou went over its banks. you cannot put in the city of houston 2.3 million people on the road. that is dangerous." for those who did not evacuate the houston area, most roads are impassable, leaving many people stranded and in need of assistance.for all the people who did evacuate, most will not be going home anytime soon.

(tiffany) for your money -- u.s. gasoline futures spiked 7-percent last night as tropical storm harvey forced the shutdown of at least 10 refineries in the houston and corpus christie areas. the futures are now at their highest level since 20-15. that likely means a temporary spike in gas prices is on the way.
