(grant) but it may also be easier to find parking. kron4's dan kerman explains. what you pay to park in san francisco could soon go up but it might also go down.it's called demand pricing and it's already in effect at 7- thousand meters throughout the city for example here in the 21-hundred block of chestnut it costs 5.75 an hour to park in the morning but during the busy afternoon rush it jumps to 6.25 an hour. now the sfmta is considering

putting this demand pricing in place at all of the cities 30- thousand meters sot paul rose/sf mta 28-38we're building off the success we had with our pilot program sf park where we saw that 43 percent of the time people found it easier to park or found parking faster in those pilot areas. the mta says the higher price encourages people to park in a less busy area which frees up spots and makes parking easier overall.sotdo you find it any easier to park, no chestnut is actually the worstwhile drivers agree parking in the city is a nightmare, many aren't buying the theory that higher prices are making people go elsewhere thus freeing up more spots.sot no it does not prevent me from parking when i do find a spot but it is definitely like sticker shock when i see what the parking is going to be. among the meters currently not park of the program are these on union street. right now
