graffiti was found in a bathroom threatening a shooting. police will have an increased presence on campus through out the day today. and the school will have extra staff working in the hall to watch for problems. ( james ) the school says if there are any problems today they will let parents know immediately via text... email... twitter... facebook and the school's website. (robin) breaking over night... one person has died while in the custody of oakland police. it started around 2:30 yesterday afternoon on on foothill boulevard, near high street. at some point a taser was used on the person and that person died last night. oakland police say the death is being investigated by multi

agencies--- including their internal affairs division and the alameda county district attorney's office. we do not know the name of the person who died or why police were responding to the scene in the first place. (robin) happening now... a warning for parents ... after police say a registered sex offender was found in a girls restroom at an elementary school... now that man is out on bail. it happened at redwood adventist academy elementary school in santa rosa. alan brelsford a 39 year old registered sex offender that currently lives in santa rosa. in 2006 he was caught exposing himself at an all girls school in sacramento. and then earlier this week he was found lingering in a girls bathroom at the santa rosa elementary school. the principal then confronted brelsford with other staff members and escorted him out later that day when sonoma county sheriff's deputies were at the school taking the report... brelsford returned to the school. he was arrested and charged with a

misdemeanor. police are warning parents to be on the lookout this morning. ( james ) a 17-year-old girl was held up at knife-point in her home in rohnert park. police say wednesday night... a 17- year-old boy broke into a home on meadow pines avenue, thinking no one was home. the girl ran upstairs, locked herself in a bathroom and called police. officials say the intruder then broke down the bathroom door and held the girl at knife point. he then tried to run away when he found out police were outside. he was arrested shortly after. police also found items stolen from two car burglaries earlier that day at sonoma state university... stuffed in the boy's backpack. the girl was not injured. ( james ) breaking overnight... a two story home goes up in flames in redwood city. this is a picture of the fire tweeted out by the redwood city fire department. the fire broke out around 10:30 last night on crompton road. right now it is not clear if anybody was home at the time. there are no

reports of any injuries. firefighters are still trying to figure out what started the fire. (robin) a woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a three-year-old boy in critical condition. we first told you about the accident yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. the accident happened tuesday on mcdonald avenue in richmond the boy was hurt when the driver of a red smart car hit the child and drove away without stopping. investigators learned that the car was not in the owner's possession at the time of the accident... the smart car was at a richmond auto repair shop for maintenance. police say the woman worked at the shop and somehow got the keyes to the car and took it for a drive. this morning the boy is in stable but critical condition. the woman is being charged with felony hit-and- (robin) in the south bay a former santa clara county probation counselor has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with two teenage boys while they were serviving time in juvenile detention.

36-year-old tricia caparra was arrested at her home in santa cruz. she is accused of sexually assaulting the two teenage boys... at a santa clara county juvenile correctional facility. caparra is facing 17 counts of sexual abuse. ( james ) a woman in rohnert park is accused of sending lewd material to a boy in arkansas. police arrested 21-year-old ashley zimmer after the mother of a 12-year-old boy found nude photos of an adult on her son's phone. police say, zimmer met the boy on 'x-box live' last month... and began exchanging photos on social media. zimmer has worked at y-m-c-a programs at richard crane elementary school in rohnert park. police are not sure if there are any other victims. ( james ) happening now... police in santa rosa are looking for the person who robbed a rite aid store at gunpoint. these are surveillance pictures of the robber. you can see him pointing a gun at the cashier. it happened yesterday afternoon at the store on stony point road. police say the man could be driving a

green sedan with a missing hub cap on the passenger side. ( james ) two women who escaped from a federal minimum security facility in dublin... are back in police custody this morning. after being on the run for nearly a month, police recaptured 37-year-old irene michell... and 34-year-old anna armstrong. the two were in tijuana, mexico. both women had been serving prison sentences for drug trafficking. both women are now back in the u.s. -- and have been charged for escaping custody. (robin) for the second time in two days a piece of granite ... has broken off el capitan... and crashed into yosemite valley. the most recent rockslide injured a man who had to be airlifted to a hospital. officials with yosemite national park say, big rock pieces break off and fall several dozen times a year... but rarely injure anyone. the first rockfal on wednesday killed a 32- year old british man and injured another woman. it has been 18- years since the last

(robin) a congressman shot and seriously wounded three months ago is back on the job. steve scalise received a standing ovation as he returned to the house floor. scalise went through numerous surgeries and rehabiliation. he was struck in the hip and the bullet went through internal organs, blood vessels and bones. the 51-year-old from louisiana is the majority whip. he was practicing with fellow republican for an annual baseball game. the gunman who shot scalise was killed in a shootout with police. months with a strain that's notorious for causing severe illness. it doesn't mean the same strain will hit the u.s. but it's a possibility. an ever- present problem the flu virus is highly unstable and constantly mutating. meaning there's a big potential for error in trying to guess what kind of vaccine to use. one recent study says that anywhere between 33 and 100 people need to be vaccinated to avoid just one set of symptoms. people are being urged to get their shots. ( james ) new video shows the moments before a deadly police shooting that happened on interstate -80 that backed up traffic for hours. police say the man they shot was a homicide suspect. according to police, the suspect, 45-year-old demilo trayuon hodge of san leandro, was wanted for a 2015 homicide in fairfield. on wednesday, police tried to

pull hodge over, but he failed to yield. he then led police on a chase which ended a the macarthur maze near powell street. police surrounded the car and said they attempted to negotiate with hodge. but he exited his vehicle and started shooting. officers returned fire, killing him. (robin) in the south bay... video showing the moments after a student was stabbed at a san jose high school. it happened at overfelt high school around 9:00 yesterday morning. two people are under arrest. the student is expected to recover. according to school officials at least one of the attackers did not attend the school. no word on a motive. (robin) in the east bay... police have arrested a woman they say stole from elderly people at an assisted living center in antioch. it happened in late august at the agis senior community in moraga. police say antonique bryant and her accomplice shawn morris stole checks, credit cards, and debit cards from residents. morris was arrested earlier this month. the pair do not work at the living center.

it's not clear how they got in. the two suspects are believed to be involved in similar elder abuse cases in concord, berkeley, and marin county. ( james ) happening now: police are on the hunt for a man they say, carjacked a car in petaluma. it happened around five a.m. yesterday morning on ellis street in the parking lot of mckinley elementary school. there a man approached a woman as she was siting in her car and demanded her keys. after the woman refused police say the man acted as if he had a gun. as the woman exited her car the man threw her to ground before jumping in her 1997- gold toyota avalon and sped off. the license plate to that stolen avalon is 6-g-o-n-1-6-1. ( james ) a vallejo man has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with a san francisco shooting that left one woman dead and injured two others 24-year-old jonathan santos was arraigned

yesterday. santos was first arrested shortly after a shooting march 30th on plymouth avenue and broad street. the bullets hit and killed 65-year-old lian xiu wu and injured two men. police released santos a few days after the shooting without charges pending further investigation. howevevr he was re-arrested and booked into jail wednesday. (robin) the curfew controversy involving levi's stadium is heating up as the 49ers fire back at the city of santa clara. the stadium curfew requires weeknight events at the stadium to end by 10 p-m. otherwise there is a fine. now the 49ers who own and manage the stadium sent a letter to the stadium authority. in it they say they will not book any future concerts since it is not possible to ensure they end at 10p-m. concerts can be lucrative. the 49ers have said one big show can bring in up to 800- thousand dollars and the city benefits financially from the concerts. we have yet not seen a

response from the city of (robin) one of the officers who was shot during a shootout with a murder suspects is now speaking out about what happened. sacramento police officer victor wolfe was shot in the leg three weeks ago during a shootout with a man suspected of double homicide. he says he's happy to be alive. but for now, wolfe needs to use crutches to get around. doctors have told him because of the nerve damage in his left leg it could be anywhere between six months and 18 months until he's fully recovered. listen now to wolfe talk about what happened. the team has made good on its promise to pick up the tab for its latest victory parade. but they aren't exactly happy with the city of oakland. the team says the city initially estimated the bill for the parade and ceremony would be around 300-thousand dollars. but the city apparently then asked for more than one million dollars after the fact. included in that, according to the warriors a few hundred grand from the 20-15 parade festivities. the team has cut a check for nearly 800- thousand dollars... noting that most pro cities pay for celebratory parades, not the teams. oakland officials said in a statement that it appreciates the warrriors' financial investment and their commitment to their home city. ( james ) health and human services secretary tom price is now opening up his wallet after he used private charter planes instead of commercially flights for traveling. all at the expense of taxpayers. price says he will write a personal check of a little over 50 thousand dollars for the travel expenses. price is promising to fly commercial from now on. this comes

(robin) developers realize the concerns of the people living there and wanted to reach out to some of the areas younger residents by sponsoring an outreach effort called 'the candlestick mural project". kron 4's pam moore has the details. - charleshon goodman has

"maybe in a couple years you can play with the bigger kids" and he hopes his young son will have the same opportunity .. a chance to grow up here with the other families which have generations of history in this primarily african american, working class community."we always thought the gentrification, the change would never hit bayview because its been so pro-black for so long now it's kinda this uproar because people are starting to realize things are really, really changing .. he's right.. the signs of change are all around.. the old alice griffith housing development sits next to the new multi family public housing.. with much more to come.. to bring in young voices to reflect the changes and their pride in their community .... charleshon was one of a number of young people invited to participate in the candlestick mural project.. the kids joined in brainstorming sessions with master artists ... on how to illustrate eleven themes ..

killed a man in san jose. the happened last night on elan village lane. police found a man suffering from gunshot wound.the hospital.not been released. ( mark ) a warning for parents after police say a registered sex offender was found in a girls restroom at an elementary school... now that man is out on bail. it happened at redwood adventist academy elementary school in santa rosa. alan brelsford a 39 year old registered sex offender that currently lives in santa rosa. in 2006 he was caught exposing himself at an all girls school in sacramento. earlier this week he was found lingering in a girls bathroom at the santa rosa elementary school. the principal then confronted brelsford and escorted him out. later that day when sonoma county sheriff's deputies were at the school taking the report... brelsford returned to the school. he was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor. police are warning parents to be on the lookout for ( darya ) a 17-year-old girl was held up at knife-point in her home in rohnert park. police say a 17-year-old boy broke into a

home on meadow pines avenue, thinking no one was home. the girl ran upstairs, locked herself in a bathroom and called police. officials say the intruder then broke down the bathroom door and held the girl at knife point. he then tried to run away but was arrested shortly after. the girl was not injured. ( darya ) breaking overnight... a two story home goes up in flames in redwood city. this is a picture of the fire tweeted out by the redwood city fire department. the fire broke out on crompton road. there are road closures in the area. briarfield avenue is closed from westwood street to alameda de las plugas. there are no reports of any injuries from the fire. ( mark ) a woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a three-year-old boy in critical condition. the hit and run happened tuesday on mcdonald avenue in richmond the boy was hurt when the driver of a red smart car hit the child and drove away without stopping. investigators learned that the car was not in the owner's

possession at the time of the accident. the smart car was at a richmond auto repair shop for maintenance. police say the woman worked at the shop and took the keys to the car and went for a drive. this morning the boy is still in critical condition. the woman is being charged with felony hit-and-run. ( mark ) in the south bay a former santa clara county probation counselor has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with two teenage boys while they were serving time in juvenile detention. 36-year-old tricia caparra was arrested at her home in santa cruz. she is accused of sexually assaulting the two teenage boys... at a santa clara county juvenile correctional facility. caparra is facing 17 counts of sexual abuse. ( darya ) happening today... a funeral service will be held for a c-h-p officer who was killed in a motorcycle accident. officer james branik of san jose was riding his motorcycle tuesday morning on monterey highway in santa clara when he was hit by a pickup truck. branik's funeral will be held at the morgan hill community and cultural center at 2:30

( darya ) a woman in rohnert park is accused of sending lewd material to a boy in arkansas. police arrested 21-year-old ashley zimmer after the mother of a 12-year-old boy found nude photos of an adult on her son's phone. police say zimmer met the boy on 'x-box live' last month and began exchanging photos on social media. zimmer has worked at y-m-c-a programs at richard crane elementary school in rohnert park. police are not sure if there are any other victims. ( mark ) happening now... police in santa rosa are looking for the person who robbed a rite aid store at gunpoint. these are surveillance pictures of the robber. you can see him pointing a gun at the cashier. it happened yesterday afternoon at the store on stony point road. escaped from a federal minimum security facility in dublin... are back in police custody this morning. after being on the run for nearly a month, police recaptured 37-year-old irene michell and 34-year-old anna armstrong. the two were in tijuana, mexico. both women had been serving prison sentences for drug trafficking. the women are now back in the u.s. and have been charged for custody. ( darya ) another massive rockslide happened at el capitan in yosemite and at least one person was hurt. a man who had to be airlifted yesterday to a hospital. officials with yosemite national park say big rock pieces break off and fall several dozen times a year... but rarely injure anyone. the first rockfall on wednesday killed a 32- year old british man and injured another woman. it has been 18- years since the last rockfall- related death at yosemite. yosemite is still open but some roads are

( mark ) in the east bay... police have arrested a woman they say stole from elderly people at an assisted living center in antioch. it happened at the aegis senior community in moraga. police say antonique bryant and her accomplice shawn morris stole checks and credit cards from residents. the pair did not work at the living center. and this morning it's still not clear how they got in. the two suspects are believed to be involved in similar elder abuse cases in concord, berkeley, and marin county. carjacked a woman in petaluma in a school parking lot. it happened yesterday morning in the parking lot of mckinley elementary school. the thief approached a woman and demanded her keys. the man then threw her to ground before jumping in her gold toyota avalon and sped off. ( darya ) a vallejo man has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to a shooting that left one woman dead and injured two others. 24-year-old jonathan santos was arraigned yesterday. santos was arrested shortly after a shooting march 30th in san francisco. the bullets hit and killed 65-year-old lian xiu wu and injured two men. police released santos a few days after the shooting as they investigated. he was re- arrested and booked into jail wednesday. ( mark ) the curfew controversy involving levi's stadium is heating up as the 49ers fire back at the city of santa clara. the stadium curfew requires weeknight events at the stadium to end by 10 p-m. if it goes

( mark ) one of the officers who was shot during a shootout with a murder suspect is now speaking out about what happened. sacramento police officer victor wolfe was shot in the leg three weeks ago during a shootout with a man suspected of double homicide. police just releasing video of the encounter. the officer says he's happy he survived. doctors say because of nerve damage in his left leg it could be 18 months until he's fully recovered.

( darya ) the golden state warriors have made good on their promise to pick up the tab for its victory parade earlier this year. but they aren't exactly happy with the city of oakland. the team says the city initially estimated the bill for the parade and ceremony would be around 300-thousand dollars. but the city then asked for more than one million dollars. according to the warriors that amount included a few hundred grand from the 20-15 parade festivities. the team has cut a check for nearly 800-thousand dollars. but the team says that most cities pay for celebratory parades, not the teams. oakland officials said in a statement that it appreciates the warrriors' sending the check. ( mark ) a warning for parents after police say a registered sex offender was found in a girls restroom at an elementary school... now that man is out on bail. it happened at redwood adventist academy elementary school in santa rosa. in 2006... alan brelsford was caught exposing himself at an all girls school in sacramento. he now lives in santa rosa. earlier this week... brelsford was found lingering in a girls bathroom at the santa rosa elementary

school. the principal confronted brelsford and escorted him out. later that day... when sonoma county sheriff's deputies were at the school taking the report... brelsford returned. he was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor. ( darya ) a woman in rohnert park is accused of sexting a boy in arkansas. police arrested ashley zimmer after the mother of a 12- year-old found nude photos on her son's phone. police say zimmer met the boy on 'x-box live' last month... and began exchanging photos on social media. zimmer has worked at y-m-c-a programs at richard crane elementary school in rohnert park. police are not sure if there are any other victims. ( darya ) a former santa clara county probation counselor is accused of having sex with two teenage boys... while they were serving time in juvenile detention. tricia caparra was arrested at her home in santa cruz.

authorities say the abuse happened at the santa clara county juvenile correctional facility. caparra is facing 17 counts of sexual abuse. ( mark ) a woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a three-year-old boy in critical condition. the hit and run happened tuesday on mcdonald avenue in richmond the boy was hurt when the driver of a red smart car hit him and drove off. investigators learned that the car was ánot in the owner's possession at the time. the smart car was at a richmond auto repair shop for maintenance. police say the woman worked at the shop and took the keys to the car and went for a drive. this morning the boy is still in critical condition. the woman is being charged with felony hit-and-run. ( mark ) a 17-year-old girl was held up at knife-point in her home in rohnert park. police say a 17-year-old boy broke into a home on meadow pines avenue.. thinking no one was home. the girl ran upstairs, locked herself in a bathroom and called police. officials say the intruder then broke down the bathroom door and held the girl at knife point. he then tried to run away but was arrested shortly after. the girl was not hurt.

( darya ) happening today... a funeral service will be held for a c-h-p officer who was killed in a motorcycle accident. officer james branik of san jose was riding his motorcycle tuesday morning on monterey highway in santa clara when he was hit by a pickup truck. branik's funeral will be held at the morgan hill community and cultural center at 2:30 this afternoon. it is open to the public. ( mark ) another massive rockslide at el capitan in yosemite injures a man. he was driving out of the park with his wife when rocks fell into the sunroof of their car. they then rushed to get help... and the man was transported to the hospital with a possible skull fracture.

year-old demilo hodge of san leandro was wanted for killing william freeman in fairfield in 2015. on wednesday, police tried to pull hodge over but he wouldn't stop. he then led police on a chase which ended a the macarthur maze near powell street. police surrounded the car and say they attempted to negotiate with hodge. but video shows him getting out of his vehicle and opening fire on police. officers returned fire, killing him. accomplice shawn morris stole checks, credit cards, and debit cards from residents. morris was arrested earlier this month. the pair do not work at the living center. it's not clear how they got in. the two suspects are believed to be involved in similar elder abuse cases in concord, berkeley, and marin county. ( darya ) police are on the hunt for a man they say carjacked a woman in petaluma in a school parking lot. it happened yesterday morning in the parking lot of mckinley elementary school. the thief approached a woman and demanded her keys. the man then threw her to ground before jumping in her gold toyota avalon and sped off. ( darya ) a vallejo man has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to a shooting that left one woman dead and injured two others. 24-year-old jonathan santos was arraigned yesterday. santos was arrested shortly after a shooting march 30th in san francisco. the bullets hit and killed 65-year-old lian xiu wu and injured two men. police

republicans announce their tax reform plan... they are already battling it out with democrats on capitol hill. both sides say they want to help the middle class, but they can't agree on how to do that. the republican proposal would mean three tax brackets instead of seven. it would also cut the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent which republicans say will help the economy. but democrats say there's no proof that large corporations would create jobs or increase wages. they worry that ceo's would simply line their own pockets. warriors have made good on their promise to pick up the tab for its victory parade earlier this year. but they aren't exactly happy with the city of oakland. the team says the city initially estimated the bill for the parade and ceremony would be around 300-thousand dollars. but the city then asked for more than one million dollars. according to the warriors that amount included a few hundred grand from the 20-15 parade festivities. the team has cut a check for nearly 800-thousand dollars. but the team says that most cities pay for celebratory parades, not the teams. oakland officials said in a statement that it appreciates the warrriors' sending the check.
