residents are uniting to help the victims of hurricane maria. this morning an organization looking to help the people of puerto rico is holding a donation drive in oakland. kron 4's camila bernal is live at the jamtown basketball center with more on how they plan to help. people of puerto rico are suffering. many lost their houses. they don't have water, food... that's why a group of bay area puerto ricans formed a coalition called sf for pr. they plan to do as much as possible to send money and donations to the island. many of these bay area residents have family members in puerto rico who have been directly affected by hurricane maria. sf for pr is asking people to donate things such as bottled water, canned food, first-aid kits, blankets and more. they'll be at jamtown from 11am until 4pmthey're asking people to help as much as they can by bringing these donations.reporting live in oakland camila bernal kron 4 news. (marty) o-j simpson's lawyer says, the former football star will live in florida after his release from a nevada prison.... which could happen as early as tomorrow. florida's attorney general has already taken action to prevent simpson from serving parole in florida. simpson served nine -years ... of a 33-year sentence for armed robbery. but, of course, it was a different criminal case that simpson is best known for.... his trial for the murders of ex-wife nicole brown

(marty) breaking news we are following this morning. c-h-p is investigating a fatal multi-car collision that happened around 4:17 this morning on 8-80 in oakland. the collision occured just south of the broadway exit. c-h-p says they received a call of a driver going the wrong way northbound on 8-80. at least one person is dead. three lanes of traffic have been closed. expect delays if you're traveling

(marty) happening today... demolition work on the old eastern span of the bay bridge continues. caltrans will close eastbound lanes of the bay bridge sometime between 10 and 12 today for 30 minutes while they implode an underwater pier. it's part of an ongoing project that will take place every other saturday until november 11th. (marty) a reminder if you are taking bart this weekend. the warm springs south fremont station will be closed again for construction work on the bart extension to silicon valley. a free bus will run between the south fremont and fremont stations every 20 minutes. bart officials are telling riders to expect a 20 to 30 minute delay. (marty) happening tomorrow. people who use caltrain will be paying more to ride the train. riders will pay an additional 25 cents for each zone. and, the eight-ride tickets will no longer be available. monthly parking passes will

affordable housing crisis in the bay area and across the state. some of the new laws will bring in money for affordable housing and others will cut through red tape that often delays projects. kron four's spencer blake explains what some of these new laws mean. "this is not the end of the road but this is a major step in the right direction and it continues the momentum that we're building to address the housing catastrophe that we're in."amie fishman with the non- profit housing association of northern california was there to witness governor brown signing a package of 15 affordable housing bills in san francisco.one of the most helpful new laws, she says, is assembly bill 15-oh-five, which allows cities to require inclusionary housing within new, private developments. ( marty ) a warning about buying on craigslist. a portland, oregon mom's attempt to save some money on disneyland tickets - almost ruined her daughter's special trip to the happiest place on earth. reporter jennifer downling has some tips from police on how to avoid becoming a victim. edgar petrevics, uses craig's list i've never been ripped off on craigslist plenty of people found success scrolling through the job listings personal ads and other items offered for sale on the site. craigslist is straight forward and the results are right there.but for some, it's not worth the risk. to me you just can't trust it. most recently, portland police say a woman fell victim to a ticket scam while taking a special trip with to her daughter to disney land. she

saw an ad like this online and agreed to meet michael mccorbie to purchase two 3-day passes. she paid 300-dollars but when she got to disneyland staff at the park said they were stolen. i'm not sure exactly how many days she ended up going to the park, but she was out a substantial amount of money. she ended up buying new passes at the park and called police when she got home. detectives say they answered mccorbie's ad as part of a sting... when he showed up to meet them, they arrested him. i just went on this morning and saw that there were other craig's list ads that were very similar to this.police say mccorbie told them that he had nearly two dozen tickets nearly half are still unaccounted for. there is a possibility they are not legitimate tickets and we would like to be able to contact those victims and get their statements.they advise that if something sounds too good to be trueit probably is and when buying online, you may want to get a second opinion. check with that you trust to get their input on whether or not it's going to into a fraud situation. > ( marty ) that was jennifer downling reporting. the suspect is being charged with theft by deception and felony computer crime. authorities are telling us that the crash was caused by a woman driving in the wrong direction just after 4 in the morning.but traffic is still slow at this time. california highway patrol telling us that the driver going the wrong way was going south on the 880 northbound lanes.she crashed into another car near the broadway off ramp. both women were driving alone and died as a result of the crash.three lanes were closed while authorities investigated and cleaned up the crash.most of it is clear now but traffic remains slow on the northbound lanes reporting in oakland cb (marty) thanks camila. we'll check back with you throughout the morning. demolition work on the old eastern span of the bay bridge continues. caltrans will close eastbound lanes of the bay bridge sometime between 10 and 12 today for 30 minutes while they implode an underwater pier. it's part of an ongoing project that will take place every other saturday until november 11th. ( marty ) governor brown was in san francisco friday to sign a set of bills designed to start fixing the affordable housing crisis in the bay area and across the state. some of the new laws will bring in money for affordable housing and others will cut through red tape that often delays projects. kron four's spencer blake explains what some of these new laws mean. ( camila )good morning marty, as we have reported, the people of puerto rico are suffering. many lost their houses. they don't have water, food... that's why a group of bay area puerto ricans formed a coalition called sf for pr. they plan to do as much as possible to send money and donations to the island. many of these bay area residents have family members in puerto rico who have been directly affected by hurricane maria. sf for pr is asking people to donate things such as bottled water, canned food, first-aid kits, blankets and more. they'll be at jamtown from 11am until 4pm they're asking people to help

( marty ) governor brown was in san francisco friday to sign a set of bills designed to start fixing the affordable housing crisis in the bay area and across the state. some of the new laws will bring in money for affordable housing and others will cut through red tape that often delays projects. kron

"this is not the end of the road but this is a major step in the right direction and it continues the momentum that we're building to address the housing catastrophe that we're in."amie fishman with the non- profit housing association of northern california was there to witness governor brown signing a package of 15 affordable housing bills in san francisco.one of the most helpful new laws, she says, is assembly bill 15-oh-five, which allows cities to require inclusionary housing within new, private developments. offered for sale on the site. craigslist is straight forward and the results are right there.but for some, it's not worth the risk. to me you just can't trust it. most recently, portland police say a woman fell victim to a ticket scam while taking a special trip with to her daughter to disney land. she saw an ad like this online and agreed to meet michael mccorbie to purchase two 3-day passes. she paid 300-dollars but when she got to disneyland staff at the park said they were stolen. i'm not sure exactly how many days she ended up going to the park, but she was out a substantial amount of money. she ended up buying new passes at the park and called police when she got home. detectives say they answered mccorbie's ad as part of a sting... when he showed up to meet them, they arrested him. i just went on this morning and saw other craig's list ads that were very similar to this. police say mccorbie told them that he had nearly two dozen tickets nearly half are still unaccounted for. there is a possibility they are not legitimate tickets and we would like to be able to contact those victims and get their statements.they advise that if something sounds too good to be trueit probably is and when buying online, you may want to get a second
