danley arrived at los angeles international airport last night. she is being accompanied by the f-b-i and the las vegas police intend to question her. they hope she can shed some light on the events of the weekend. know now that he fired off and on for somewhere between 9 and 11 minutes."the man behind the massacre in las vegas accumulated weapons for more than 20 years.that's according to law enforcement officials. inside his hotel room -- investigators found 23 weapons. police also say the gunman set up cameras inside and outside the vegas suite.sheriff joe lombardo/clark county: "the fact that he had the type of weaponry and the amount of weaponry in that room it was pre-planned extensively." investigators say the gunman had at least 19 more weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo at his home. in his car -- several pounds of a fertilizer that can be used to make bombs. sheriff joe lombardo/clark county: "the world has changed and who would have ever imagined this situation? i couldn't imagine it."police are still trying to determine what drove a retired accountant to commit mass murdersheriff joe lombardo/clark county"for this individual to create this chaos and harm is unspeakable." as we learn more about the dozens of people who died --

we're hearing stories of heroics from those who survived.addison short/shooting survivor "if the guy that helped me is watching... i really just want to tell him how grateful i am for basically saving my life" in las vegas -- i'm omar jimenez reporting. (james) it's now been two days since the shooting. the las vegas strip has been reopened, but things are far from returning to normal. (robin) a vigil has been set up for the victims near the mandalay bay hotel... as kron 4's spencer blake reports. the flowers, balloons, and cowboy boots placed about a block away from the spot where dozens died are piling up on the strip.for most of the day tuesday, you could still see las vegas metropolitan police along the outskirts of the mandalay bay crime scene."as you can imagine with 59 people killed and over five hundred 17 injured, that there is probably a lot of evidence in that field."as officers gathered evidence, vinnie etcheber and his brother alhad been looking for vinnie's wife staceewhom they found out tuesday morning, did not survive the massacre."we

(james) we continue to hear about incredible stories of survival in the las vegas massacre. (robin) survivors are remembering those who came to their aid -- and the people that they tried to help. stephanie elam has their stories. in the middle of the chaos -- countless acts of kindness and compassion. amy mcaslin was at the concert sunday night near the stage when gunfire rained down all around her. she said a stranger came to her rescue. amy mcaslin/shooting survivor "i don't know his name, i don't -- can barely remember what he looked like, but he completely covered me. he covered my face. he said, 'i got you.' it's just truly incredible, a stranger, jumping over me to protect me."

18-year-old addison short was among the crowd of people running for cover -- but she couldn't move fast because she was shot in the legfrom her hospital bed, she tells the story of a good samaritan who used his belt to wrap her leg in a tourniquet and carried her to safety.addison short/shooting survivor"if the guy that helped me is watching... i really just want to tell him how grateful i am for basically saving my life" for those who didn't survive, we are learning more about the last moments of their lives and who they were.an off-duty san francisco police officer lost his wife when they got separated. when the shooting began, vinnie etcheber told his wife stacee to run while he rendered aid to the wounded. she was killed in the attack.the san francisco police officers' association said in a statement that stacee was "a wonderful, caring wife, mother, and daughter." 20-year-old angela gomez of riverside california also died in the rampage. angie as she is called, was a member of the riverside poly class of 2015 and a poly cheerleader. her cheer couch lupe avila remembers angie as

(james) many are still searching for answers about the las vegas shooting. children are no exception. mark hiller talked to an expert about how you should speak to your kids about what happened. summary:there are no easy answers for the horrific shooting massacre. but there are some answers to consider explaining to children about a world that isn't as safe as we'd like them to believe. "i try and shield her from as much of it as i can," said amanda kazimi. parents like her everywhere are perplexed.

how do you explain the las vegas tragedy to children? while the mass shooting is the reason the flag outside wycallis elementary school is flying at half-staff, robert coursen said it's no reason to discuss the massacre with his young daughter. "i'm not telling her anything. yeah nothing, nothing at all. she doesn't need to know that. she's only five. she does not need to be aware of that at this point in her life."while it is best to avoid the subject of las vegas with kindergarten aged children, older children may have questions that deserve answers. that's the predicament for parents like mrs. kazimi whose oldest daughter is in second grade. "i kind of feel, like, even at seven it's just too much for them to comprehend what's going on."summer krochta, the director of crisis & residential services at children's service center in wilkes-barre, said "when they come to you with questions don't just give them, you know, a wealth of information." she recommends answering kids' questions with questions of your own. "ask them, you know, well what have you heard? what are you curious about? what do you want to talk about, you know, and relate it to specifically the questions that they have." she said acknowledge bad things do happen, but emphasize measures are in place to protect them. "and reassuring them that there are so many precautions that you know these events do happen safely. it's just really

unfortunate that sometimes they don't."ms. krochta suggests tragedy can be a teachable moment for impressionable, young minds. "it's very important to encourage that, you know, we do the good thing, we do the right thing because it's the right thing to do."it's the only way for some parents to help make sense of senseless, violent acts. mrs. kazimi said, "they're going to face a lot of it in their lifetime so as long as we're raising them to know that they could make a difference and be the good part of it, that's the best hope we can give them."ms. krochta says limit children's exposure to the news so that they won't relive the tragedy every she also monitoring their activity on line to even more (james) thousands of people are joining forces to help the families of the vegas shooting. a "go fund me" campaign for victims has raised more than 8-million dollars. the campaign was started by the clark county commissioner. the money will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and their families. if you'd like to donate - you can find a link on our website -- kron four dot com. ( mark ) our top story this morning... investigators continue to search for a motive in the concert shooting that killed 58 people in las vegas.( darya ) more than 520 others were injured in the worst mass shooting in modern u-s history. and this morning the girlfriend of the shooter, stephen paddock, is back in the u-s and is being questioned by investigators.( mark ) marilou danley arrived at los angeles international airport accompanied by the f-b-i last night. she was in the philippines during the sunday night attack. paddock transferred 100-thousand dollars to the philippines days before the attack. investigators are hoping that danley can provide insight

( mark ) police have arrested a man accused in a bay area freeway shooting. this is video of sadel wilkes being arrested at an apartment in oakland. the shooting happened last month at the industrial parkway onramp to interstate 880. witnesses say he walked up to a car stopped at a light... and started shooting. wilkes is facing multiple charges -- including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. ( darya ) in the south bay a catholic priest from san jose is sentenced to three years in prison. hien minh nguyen ran the vietnamese catholic center for the diocese of san jose. he was convicted earlier this year for bank fraud. police say he diverted money that was donated to the church into his personal bank ( darya ) police in the south bay are looking for a

(take vo) at a concert last night in mountain view the mountain view police department told kron 4 that they would have teams inside and outside of the amphitheater during the concert but would not reveal how many officers would be on duty. while everyone we spoke to was horrified by the this week's tragic events at a concert in las vegas, few had any second thoughts about coming out tonight. trump as a potential game changer in the push to combat gun violence. they are pointing to some of his past statements in favor of gun control and his recent deal- making with democrats. some democrats consider the president a possible wild card in swaying republicans who have opposed gun control measures. but the white house has shown no movement in the democrats' direction. top administration officials are pushing back on the idea of pursuing new gun control measures. but that is not stopping some senators from taking on the issue. woman is back home from las vegas this morning. and she says it's a miracle that she made it out of that country music festival alive.( mark ) kron four's terisa estacio has her story. stephanie booker shared this with me as we met to talk about the concert sunday her legs are bruised with cuts she got injured after running under the bleachers next to the stage after the gunfire stated to rain down. 12:18 stephanie. i was running through the bleachers, i was pushed over, yeah i am bruised, but that is the least of my worries, nothing compares to anyone else. so grateful that's all that came out of this the livermore native and now las vegas resdient stephanie booker also showed me this video it was taking by a friend she was with under the bleachers. at one point, they saw a woman's body right in front of them. 1:25 stephanie. drop right in front of us, she had a limp body.stephanie says while under the bleachers she called her parents thinking this might be the last time she would talk to them. :43. i thought i was going to die. i called them and others, they told me to be calm. stephanie says she and her friends were under the bleachers for about 20 minutes then made a run for it they wandered onto the strip, and that's when complete strangers lent a hand. 1:16. there were some people in apartments, and the

( mark ) back to our top story... so many people are struggling for answers about the las vegas shooting that killed 58 people.( darya ) and many of those asking questions are children. mark hiller talked to an expert to get advice about what you should say to your child. summary:there are no easy answers for the horrific shooting massacre. but there are some answers to consider explaining to children about a world that isn't as safe as we'd like them to believe. "i try and shield her from as much of it as i can," said amanda kazimi. parents like her everywhere are perplexed. how do you explain the las vegas tragedy to children? while the mass shooting is the reason the flag outside wycallis elementary school is flying at half-staff, robert coursen said it's no reason to discuss the massacre with his young daughter. "i'm not telling her anything. yeah nothing, nothing at all. she doesn't need to know that. she's only five. she does not need to be aware of that at this point in her life."while it is best to avoid the subject of las vegas with kindergarten aged children, older children may have

questions that deserve answers. that's the predicament for parents like mrs. kazimi whose oldest daughter is in second grade. "i kind of feel, like, even at seven it's just too much for them to comprehend what's going on."summer krochta, the director of crisis & residential services at children's service center in wilkes-barre, said "when they come to you with questions don't just give them, you know, a wealth of information." she recommends answering kids' questions with questions of your own. "ask them, you know, well what have you heard? what are you curious about? what do you want to talk about, you know, and relate it to specifically the questions that they have." she said acknowledge bad things do happen, but emphasize measures are in place to protect them. "and reassuring them that there are so many precautions that you know these events do happen safely. it's just really unfortunate that sometimes they don't."ms. krochta suggests tragedy can be a teachable moment for impressionable, young minds. "it's very important to encourage that, you know, we do the good thing, we do the right thing because it's the right thing to do."it's the only way for some parents to help make sense of senseless, violent acts. mrs. kazimi

( mark ) in the east bay... another u-c berkeley student has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against a former university therapist. the lawsuit is filed against eric samuels. samuels was a fellow at the university's counseling center when he began counseling the woman. she says that he videotaped several of their sessions. she claims he asked her inappropriate questions and made her uncomfortable. samuels was suspended for one day. he no longer works at the ( darya ) in contra costa county... two people have test positive for west nile virus. this is includes five dead birds, a chicken and a group of mosquitos testing positive. one of the people infected is from the eastern part of the county. the other is from central contra costa county. the animals that tested positive were from pleasant hill, martinez and walnut creek. contra costa officials are urging residents to drain standing water where mosquitos often breed. ( darya ) president trump visited hurricane-ravaged puerto rico to see the devastation first hand.

of the 58 victims. she was a hairdresser and the wife of a san francisco police officer. kron4's j-r stone has the story. a ten year old boy leaning against his father as he mourns the death of his mom, 50 year old stacee etcheber. who was killed in the mass shooting in las vegas.sot tuesday night hundreds showed up to remember stacee. her husband vinnie was at the concert with her when the shooter opened fire. vinnie told her to run as he helped victims. the two were split up and he never saw his wife again. stacee's brother in law says it has been tough on everyone including stacee's 10 year old son and 13 year old daughter who had questions after learning of their mom's death.sotal etcheber says his family still doesn't know how stacee died. while that information may eventually come. their focus now is remembering stacee .sot oc: in the meantime so

shooting happened happened yesterday afternoon on 74th avenue. one man was shot at that location and taken to the hospital. there is no word on his condition. about 20 minutes later, another shooting victim was found near the intersection of 14th avenue and international boulevard. then a few minutes later ... another shooting on international boulevard. officers found one man who had been shot and killed. police are still trying to figure out if all of the victims are connected. ( mark ) police have arrested a man accused in a bay area freeway shooting. this is video of sadel wilkes being arrested at an apartment in oakland. the shooting happened last month at the industrial parkway onramp to interstate 880. witnesses say he walked up to a car stopped at a light... and started shooting. wilkes is facing multiple charges -- including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. ( darya ) investigators are still looking into which guns from stephen paddock's arsenal he used in the shootings. but 12 of those guns had what are known as "bump-fire" stocks -- allowing a semi-automatic weapon to be fired much more rapidly. woman is back home from las vegas this morning. and she says it's a miracle that she made it out of that country music festival alive.( mark ) kron four's terisa estacio has her story. stephanie booker shared this with me as we met to talk about the concert sunday her legs are bruised with cuts she got injured after running under the bleachers next to the stage after the gunfire stated to rain down. 12:18 stephanie. i was running through the bleachers, i was pushed over, yeah i am bruised, but that is the least of my worries, nothing compares to anyone else. so grateful that's all that came out of this the livermore native and now las vegas resdient stephanie booker also showed me this video it was taking by a friend she was with under the bleachers. at one point, they saw a woman's body right in front of them. 1:25 stephanie. drop right in front of us, she had a limp body.stephanie says while under the bleachers she called her parents thinking this might be the last time she would talk to them. :43. i thought i was going to die. i

san francisco. the shooting happened last month in the nob hill neighborhood. police say damian murray fred at least three shots before officers returned fire. police say murray was holding his girlfriend and two children hostage. murray was taken to the hospital after the shooting where he died. ( darya ) another u-c berkeley student has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against a former university therapist. the lawsuit was filed against eric samuels. samuels was a fellow at the university's counseling center. the student says he videotaped several of their sessions. she claims he asked her inappropriate questions and looked at her in ways that made her uncomfortable. samuels was suspended for one day. he no longer works at the university. ( mark ) in contra costa county... two people have test positive for west nile virus. this is in addition to five dead birds, a chicken and mosquitos testing positive. one of the people

infected is from the eastern part of the county. the other is from central contra costa county. the animals that tested positive were from pleasant hill, martinez and walnut creek. the contra costa mosquito and vector control district is urging people to drain standing water where mosquitos often breed. ( mark ) the largest data breach in history has grown... 3 billion people are now affected. yahoo tripled the number... saying the breach affected áall of its users not just the one billion it announced late last year. the breach actually happened back in 2013. yahoo says the stolen customer information does not include passwords... payment card data or bank account information. they are recommending that everyone change their passwords right away.
