( marty ) as many as one million people are expected to come to san francsico this weekend to watch the blue angels take to the sky and put on their jaw dropping show. good morning i'm marty gonzalez. and if you want to watch the blue angels this weekend - we have what you need to know. the parade of ships kicked off friday's events. the u-s-s essex leading the way followed by other u-s navy and coast guard ships. kron4's camila bernal is live at the marina green with more. camila? ( marty ) investigators say they have chased down one-thousand leads , but still don't have a motive for the deadly las vegas shooting.. here's what we know this morning... they are digging into stephen paddock's background looking for any possible clues. we have learned that he bought a thousand rounds of tracer ammunition from a private seller. and met the person at a gun show in phoenix. tracer bullets light up their path, that way shooters can check their aim. the shooter bought that ammo a month ago.

( marty ) president trump has approved an emergency declaration for louisiana as hurricane nate is bearing down on the gulf coast. hurricane nate has sustained winds of 75-miles-per hour. the storm is expected to gain strength before making landfall east of new orleans tomorrow. mandatory evacuations are in place for some areas around the city-- the mayor of new orleans has already declared a state of emergency. a hurricane warning now extends along the gulf coast from new orleans to the albama-florida (marty) still ahead -- fleet week brings joy to people of all ages -- especially some bay area kids who need it the most. that story coming up. and we'll take you on an insider's tour of the historic u-s-s essex that's only in town for the next few days... but up next. hardly strictly beefing up security in the wake of the vegas shootings. hear how people are feeling at this weekend's festival.

week this morning. but there is another huge event in the city this weekend... the hardly strictly bluegrass festival kicked off friday at golden gate park. the free three day music festival draws hundreds of thousands of fans every year. security is at the top of the list for organizers, especially this year. less than a week after the horrific shooting at the outdoor country music festival in las vegas. so it's an all hands on deck weekend for the s-f-p-d. most people at the park seemed to have a pretty relaxed attitude. but say it is impossible not to think about what happened in las vegas.

these help s her daugther feel better.(jennifer kirk, patient's mom 39-42)it changes her for the day she's happier and friendlier and more outgoing it makes a huge huge differenceand her daughter's reaction to this visit?amazing (maureen)while this day of play is a great distraction for the patients here at the hospital and their siblings. this servicemen and women say they get a lot out of it too (corporal maria lopez, united states marine corps 56-1:04.) it's nice i'm glad i had the opportunity to come. just to talk to these amazing kids they're so adorable, they're so cute. i'm really glad were able to do this with other marines and sailors altogether (sailor tyler fears, united states navy 1:10-121)just doing this makes me feel like i've done more like for my country than just being at work it's a humanitarian mission for the littlest and vunerable . kids and their siblings..get their troubles.and important kids. maureen kelly kron4 news ( marty ) with fleet week in full swing... there is a new addition to the bay waters. last sunday, the u-s-s essex docked in the san francisco bay... and visitors are getting a glimpse of the massive ship. kron four's philippe djegal has the story.

(philippe) nicknamed "the iron gator."david stevenson/visitor- "oh, my gosh, its beautiful." the motto, appropriately, for the u-s-s essex is "take notice." judie phelps/visitor- "overwhelming. i couldn't imagine anything so big." the ship is 844 feet long... carrying more than 18- hundred troops... it's commanding officer is captain jason burns for decades, the u-s-s essex has been used to assist in humanitarian and disaster relief efforts around the world... serving as a landing craft for jets, helicopters and assault vehicles... boasting medical labs and operating rooms, capable of caring for up to 600 patients. judie phelps and her husband robert drove up from san jose to the embarcadero in san francisco to take a look.robert phelps/visitor- "everythings there that they'd ever need, you know -- impressive." david stevenson is visiting from north carolina... getting a glimpse into the lives of the sailors who serve the u-s navy on what is called a wasp-class amphibious

legend from the w-w-e... bret "the hitman" hart. before the matches.. he and many other wrestlers took pictures and signed autographs with fans. (marty) hart has a special place in his heart for the bay area for another reason. his wife is from san francisco. hart retired from wrestling in 19-99 but works to help bay- area-based "big time wrestling" which is celebrating its 21st year. a san jose community in mourning..remembering michelle vo.. who was killed in sunday's concert in last vegas. diane hawkins/victim's sister it touches my family and i so much because when i first learned of her passing one of the things that came to my mind is that she was so young she didn't get to do anything but looking at this outpouring of support from all over the world and everyone showing her love of her, i am so proud o her.the impact that she made and the life that she lef. friends and those who knew of her say vo was genuine and kind to everyone. when i came here my heart was so heavy because even if i don't know her it's heartbreaking what happened and we are just hear to support cathy her sister. addie reyes/knows victim's friends:it's kind of surreal its closest to home because eve if i dont know her personally. seeing that people that know her and someone from san jose, it really could have been any of us anyone that we

morning... a security breach at a high school on the peninsula has some parents on edge. at palo alto high school the grade point averages, names, and student numbers showed up on what the district is calling a rogue website. that website has been shut down. and the district is now working to figure out if the breach could be bigger than just the website. the students affected are in grades ten through 12. police are also involved investigation. (philippe) led by san francisco fire boat saint francis... and, a spectacular water show to compliment the entrance... the u-s-s essex passes under the iconic golden gate bridge... visually remarkable for those who showed up to the marina green in san francisco... for a close-up shot of the impressive ships.harish selvakumar/12-year-old- "it's tense and its crowded, but at the same time, its kind of beautiful. because theres a landmark, and there's fighter jets and aircraft carriers." harish (huh-reesh) selvakumar and his friend ashwin vasant, taking part in fleet week for the first time. both visiting from foster city. here not only to check out the ships, but also the f-16 fighter jets flying above.ashwin vasant/11- years-old- "today's a perfect day. usually when we come here, its really foggy, but now it's like super sunny, so, you get like a perfect view of both." the u-s navy wasn't alone. the u-s coast guard also had boats in the water.

can i see alcatraz?because that's where the blue angels do some of their coolest stuff check out this fleur de lys from last year.natalmost as important a view of the golden gate for the thrilling sight of the f/a 18 hornets rippling low over the bridge.so let's look at the alternatives, east to west starting with pier 39.a good view of alcatraz, plenty of food options but not much elbow room.and you have to factor in cost of parking and the hassle of getting there.nat aquatic park is also jammed during the blue angels show.it has most of the same advantages and disadvantages of pier 39 .. plus your view of the golden gate bridge can be blocked.you're better off heading to fort mason.the waterfront is bound to be crowded, but the hillside behind the fort is a great vantage point to catch maneuvers like this one.nat wheels and tailhooks down in what's called a dirty formation, one of the jets flips over to provide a mirror image of the other."a sight to see for sure."the marina green is prime real estate and like the neighborhood, it's pricy. trackng this morning... a security breach at a high school on the peninsula has some parents on edge. at palo alto high school the grade point averages, names, and student numbers showed up on what the district is calling a rogue website. that website has been shut down. and the district is now working to figure out if the breach could be bigger than just the website. the students affected are in grades ten through 12. police are also involved in the investigation. ( marty ) in the south bay... police are investigating a fatal stabbing early friday morning in san jose. officers found two people had been stabbed outside their home the woman was pronounced dead. the man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. officers had been responding to a disturbance call and are investigating. they say it's not clear who called police -- or who attacked the couple. this is the 24th homicide this year for san jose. there were 46 in all of 2016. ( marty ) breaking news this morning -- the rapper "nelly" has been arrested on suspicion of rape, according to police in auburn, washington. nelly had a performance in that city last night. early this morning, a woman called authorites claiming to have been sexually assaulted by nelly on his tour bus after the show. nelly was taken into custody less than an hour later. police are still investigating the incident.
