big problem in the bay area ... people who cheat the carpool lanes. should i smile for the camera also laughter . what were you doing in the carpool lane that was a conversation i tried to have with different drivers on highway 101 in in marin who were caught illegally in the carpool lane i'm just going to decline with all due respect, i use to be in the same job you did.we'll come back to this gentleman in a moment heading into san francisco on highway 101 in marin county the carpool lane is open between 6:30am and 8:30 am, you need minimum 2 people in the car i'm riding with officer patrick roth of the marin area office of the california highway patrol on of the biggest complaints i receive are carpool cheats this driver saw officer roth and jumped out of the carpoll lane so she gets hand stopped did you know you were in the carpool lane (yea) this driver was late for school so he jumped in the carpool lane my class starts in 10 minuites (what starts in 10 mins?) and now he is still going to be latethen there was this driver who saw the chp cruiser and heading over several lanes
4:41 am
but he didn't make it that far. you're by yourself in the carpool lane (i'm trying to get to work im already late) he had more than one issue so why don't you have plates on your car (i'm sorry) how come you don't have license plates on your car im still waiting for them but all the paperwork read differently ne brought the car in febuary and registered it it says april 28 but still no plates but wait there is more where you heading to right now for work (san francisco) ok you got a transponder in the car (no) fastrak ok since april you been going across the golden gate bridge paying no toll (oh i always pay a tollat the golden gate bridge? absolutely and how do you do that? so no transponder and no plates . and he driver across the golden gate bridge you go through for free throught the tolls (ki guess your right) so here is the magical part apparently the dmv somehoe placed his plates in the trunk of is car buried in a box the driver for some reason thought the was a loophole which permitted him to drive plate less my understanding was that when you put to paper plates on they are good indefinaldy i was born at night just not last night in the end he was cited for being in the carpool lane as a solo driver which is 491 dollars and correctable ticket for the plates which is an addition 223 dollars the moral of the story had he not
