6:31 am
in towards fremont. the livermore valley doesn't look too bad. as we slide the maps, you'll see walnut creek, the southern edge of the city seeing showers still. danville looking like you've got decent activity, too. alamo, danville, black hawk right there in those foothills along mount diablo certainly getting wet and the delta still dealing with the light rainfalling along the entire stretch of highway 4 from brentwood all the way out to the west, out towards martinez, in fact. martinez still looking at showers as is the bridge as you can see there heading up to solano county. the north bay quieted down quite a bit, which is nice. a few showers out to the west of santa rosa, but other than that, that's all we're tracking this morning. as for where the rain is going the rest of the day, got to turn over to future cast 4 now. these are the computer models trying to predict where and when we might see showers. non. all right.
6:32 am
we're still at the lunch hour dealing with unsettled weather so bank on it just being like this all day long. 3:00, that's an important time. kids are getting out of school. a lot of folks will be on the roads picking them up, bringing them home. be prepared to possibly do that under rainy conditions. for the commute ride home, still tracking the possibility of a few showers as well. and then things really pick up as the actual front passes overhead. overnight tonight into saturday, you can see by the yellow on the screen, the intensity just really does magnify, and that'll be with us all night long into the early-morning hours saturday and even in through the first half of saturday, really. you can see by 5:30, we finally get some of those clouds to clear out and the rain to exit the bay area. so saturday, in all likelihood, you are going to catch showers off and on throughout the day. that's what we have future cast for with this rain. have your extended tore -- forecast, talk more about the weekend coming up. i'm tracking a couple trouble spots, a couple overturned accidents as expected in this wet weather.
6:33 am
we've been telling you to be careful, to slow down. you can easily spin out. now, we have an overturned accident in the santa cruz mountains, northbound 17. looks like a couple of vehicles are involved here, and we have at least one lane blocked. far right lane. you can see that backup developing because it is the commute direction so it is very slow now on northbound 17 out of scotts valley approaching laurel curve there. after that, it's going to be a nice ride continuing through the santa cruz mountains. it's off to a very slow start. i'll keep an eye on it, let you know when crews have it out of the way. in the north bay, crews are dealing with an overturned accident as well. our second overturned crash in the same spot, south 101 at spencer. we had one in the 3:00 hour. this one happened at around 5:30. a traffic alert issued. it's in the clearing stages. they are pushing this over to the shoulder right now. you can see it's backed up. keep that in mind, very slow heading in because of that overturn. after the crash, a nice ride into san francisco.
6:34 am
you skrus have to get through that slowing. so you are vrjing 30 minutes over to the toll plaza. checking in on the always busy bay bridge commute into san francisco, lots of headlights out of oakland. it's quiet. you'll need the headlights, wipers, and watch your speed. it is very slippery out there. you are backed up into the maze, but a good rise across the upper deck. checking in on 92, this is the ride on the san mateo bridge. small motion here leaving hayward. no big problems but it's packed. lots of commute traffic heading to the peninsula. it's averaging 21 minutes, which is good for a friday. 580 westbound crawling with commute traffic. right now, you are averaging 12 minutes to make it into the north bay with lots of brake tapping back from richmond parkway leading up to the toll. all right. back to our telethon. robin, the donations are coming in by the hundreds and by the thousands. i just found out that mary, mary in napa, mary, why didn't you ask to talk to me?
