a coyote in lake merced. (grant) in the east bay... police are looking for the man who robbed a bank in brentwood. it happened at the bank of agriculture and commerce on first street. a man walked in with a gun... demanded money and took off. he was last seen running on first street towards diablo alley. nobody was injured in the robbery. police do not have a detailed description of the thief. (vicki) and police in the south bay are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station. the thief is still on the loose. it happened the gas station on saratoga avenue and bucknell road in saratoga. police say the thief showed the clerk a gun. it is not clear what the thief took. the person was last seen on bucknell road getting into a silver honda with no license plates. (grant) bart is taking action to keep passengers safe in at a pair of stations in an east bay city that action involved teaming up with police in that city and targeting people suspected of committing an infraction that is getting way out of

(landing vo) three months after their home was destroyed in a deadly fire, a south bay family has a brand new one this evening.(live in monitor) kron four's rob fladeboe joins us now live from san jose with more on how the community pulled together to turn tragedy into triumph. rob? (rob live) i'm here at the golden wheel mobile home park in front of lot 219, where three people died when their mobile home was destroyed by fire last summer. tonight, the survivors are settling in to a new home. here's more. nats (countdown begins to ribbon-cutting)the countdown to the ribbon cutting for this new home at the golden wheel mobile home park began back in august, the day after a fire gutted the old home, claiming the lives of threepeople, including two children. the new home was donated by cindy and todd su, of advantagehomes.

temperatures in the pacific are lower than normal.( grant ) it's part of a cycle that can have a huge impact on our weather here in the bay area. catherine heenan is here to show us why predictions can be very trickycatherine? (catherine) think of la nina as the cooler sister of el nino. when the water temperature drops in the pacific, it tends to bring cool, wet winters to the northwest and warm dry winters to the southeast. that's the general rule ... but in fact nobody knows. recent history shows el nino and la nina are unreliable predictors of winter rain,. 1997-98 had the strongest el nino on record ... and disastrous downpours.the bay area recorded its wettest winter in 120 years.... in san francisco almost 15 inches of rain fell in february alone. 119 rainy days total ... more than twice as many as a normal year.floodwaters rose and mudslides came crashing down....17 people died one=hundred thousand people were evacuated.... the state

him.. claiming sexual abuse. jason mc-lean was an actor and a teacher at a minneapolis theater company back in the 1980's. all his accusers are his former students. they were teenagers at the time of the alleged abuse and mclean was in his twenties. mclean left the theater company in 1986 and moved to the bay area....and owns the restaurand and bar..."small wonder." mc-lean has not commented on the lawsuits. (vicki) another olympic gymnast is accusing former gymnastic doctor-- larry nassar-- of sexual abuse. olympic gold medalist aly raisman revealed sunday that she too was sexually abused by the gymnastics physician. nassar worked as a gymnastics doctor for years... dozens of women have accused him of sexual misconduct. nassar is facing more than 30 counts of criminal sexual conduct. he's now is in jail in michigan awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography in july. string of kidnappings and sexual assaults dating back to the 1970's.. now - he's charged in the previously unsolved murder of a 19-year-old womanin daly city... denise lampe was found stabbed to death in the parking lot of serramonte shopping center in april of 1976. using modern d-n-a technology, a blood stain on her jacket has been positively tied to seymour. the gypsy hill killings were a series of unsolved homocides...named after a road in pacifica where one of the victims was found. the bodies of five victims were found in pacifica, millbrae, daly city and south san francisco. after years of being in the cold case files, authorities re-opened the investigation in 2014. since another man - rodney halbower - was arrested in 2015 with two of the killings....the arrest and arraignment of leon seymour goes against the theory that a single person was responsible

(grant)(mon vo) family and friends of the 26 people killed in the texas church shooting are now planning their funerals. one of them is a mother who raced to save her 16-year-old daughter after hearing about the shooting on facebook. charlene uhl dropped her daughter haley krueger off at the first baptist church in sutherland springs on sunday. her daughter went the church twice a week. uhl says she raced to the church as soon as she heard what happened, but later learned haley had died in the shooting.

( vicki ) an art exhibit in hayward is set to honor those killed in the recent mass shootings in las vegas and texas. it also sends a message demanding stricter gun laws. the exhibit was created by artist and educator andrew knight and his students at hayward high school. if you want see this exhibit...it is on display at the sun gallery in hayward. (grant) a u-s senator is attacking a bill that would make it harder to sue businesses that fail to comply with the american with disabilities act.(vicki) kron four's washington correspondent jessica smith reports republicans say. pkg senator tammy duckworth says republicans are trying to make americans with disabilities second class citizens. sen. tammy duckworth (d-ill): there's an attempt to erode the civil rights protections of people with disabilities and that's simply not acceptable. duckworth lost both her legs while serving iraq. she's now fighting a republican bill that would change the americans with disabilities act. the new bill requires people with disabilities to notify a business if it is failing to meet ada requirements. the business then has 120 days to

korean veteran with home repairs. the volunteers spent the day landscaping and painting the home of 84- year-old frank fallentine. it is part of a national effort to improve one hundred homes for veterans. the work was a welcome improvement to a veteran living on a limited budget. (vicki) a solano county a solano county resident found herself caught in a consumer dilemma. (grant) and it was right in the midst of the north bay firestorm. she was not a victim.. but was asked to pay the price .. in a way. she asked our stanley roberts for help. nats: sound keyboards this is lisa reed from vallejo and she had a problem. she was moving from vallejo to napa. the key word has had a problem allow lisa to explain i went on the budget truck rentals website to reserve a truck for our move lisa was able to reserve the truck online for 222 dollars and some change. she even had a confirmation number. however when it came time to move she received a phone call from the rental company letting me know that they didn't have a truck available for me anymore

because they had a low inventory due to the fires, and i wasn't happy with that i asked them to try and find me truck somewhere else. they told me that they couldn't, there were no trucks for me. her move date was set in stone. but she says when she tried to rebook online the price unfortunately was slightly different. let's just say more than lisa could afford.so lisa came up with a plan that in her mind she thought was totally doable. she contacted the rental company's inventory manager i offered some solutions for him, i told him that you know my dad lives over on the coast he could pick up a truck on the peninsula or on the coast if you have one available over there as long as you guys waive the mileage for us since we're having to drive further to napa with the truck but they never got back to her. so when all else failed you reached out to me because i want your help (laughter) because im hoping you can help me figure this all out and help me get a truck at a fair price.so i headed straight to vallejo to check with the moving truck rental company in question the manager who did not want to go on camera says it is just a case of supply and demandnats:

viewer sent us this video of a coyote howling in a park. this was one of several sightings... we even had someone tell us a coyote had snatched their pet. ( pam ) turning now to the north bay wildfires and the ongoing recovery effort. so many people want to help .. and a benefit last night at a-t-and-t park was quite a night to do it. tens of thousands of people showed up for a bay area based fundraiser with local bands donating their talent ... this is raphael saadiq performing. today, we learned 'the band together' effort has raised 23-million dollars so far. the money is being handled by the 'tipping point' emergency relief fund. another sign of the ongoing recovery efforts in the north bay.... the removal of the tons of debris in the fire areas..... including hazardous waste. catherine heenan is here with details of what is scheduled for this weekend... (catherine) you don't generally think about the word 'debris' in the context of a bigweekend fair... but that's what's happening in sonoma county on saturday and sunday.. drone video reminds us of the immense area of burned out buildings....where the fires left behind tons of debris and ashes. two 'debris removal resource fairs' are scheduled in santa rosa this weekend to help people clear their properties. it's a chance to drop in and talk to local, state and federal representatives and get questions answered. residents can have the u.s. army corps of engineers do removal work at no cost... monday is the
