new description of the hit-and- run driver wanted for killing this single mother. it happened in south san fransco on saturday. the mother was crossing el camino real -- right near south spruce avenue. kron4's spencer blake has an update on the investigation. the intersection of el camino real and hazlewood in south san francisco has plenty going on, especially at night."it's a very dangerous area here." this is the spot where teresa gonzales was hit by a car late saturday night,she ultimately died in the hospital, and the man who hit her, never stopped.

now police know about more about who they're looking for. they say he's a white man in his thirties who's about five-foot-eight to five-foot ten and 220 pounds.witnesses described him as having a pencil mustache and a short, faded haircut.people in the area know this spot can be scary."like when they're approaching an intersection and they're trying to turn left they sometimes won't see it, and they'll just like drag off. they won't look behind them."though crossing the street can be a nightmare, there's more than just speeding and failing to yield to pedestrians going on. (robin) lawsuits are being filed on behalf of the 10-year-old boy injured at the 'wave waterpark' in dublin.it happened on the park's opening day -- back in may. he went flying off the slide.....landing hard on the ground .... and was injured.he walked away with open wounds...and scrapes. these pictures were taken shortly after the accident. the family is suing the city of dublin, the owners of the water park, along with the manufacturer and contractor - white-water industries. the lawsuit says the boy was injured on the publicly built water slide. and the parents had assumed they could trust 'our cities' to ensure a safe environment for children. there's been no response yet from those being sued. warning residents after a credit card skimmer was discovered at a gas station. police say they were swamped with credit card fraud cases over the weekend. they discovered the majority of victims used their cards at the valero gas station on first street. a skimming device was located on one of the pumps. investigators believe it was active for at least one week.they encourage people to check their bank statements for unauthorized purchases. that is here in city councilmember noel gallo district. he has seen tire treads from cars doing donuts on these streets beforesot in fact with the help of the californina highway patrol, oakland police impounded 13-vehicles, gave out 12 citations and made two arrests. officials with the california highway patrol say their officers issued somewhere between 150-200 citations as sideshow participants tried unsuccessfully to make their way onto bay area freeways. this however gallo says even though oakland police found chatter on social media giving them a head-up about this sideshow...they couldn't stop a scene like this from happeningsotthe city councilmember says it is pretty clear why so many people are attracted to come to oakland to take part in thissot

tearing up this yard.kron4's ali ried talked to the homeowner who captured this wild scene. this is the first time this street has had any damage done by wild animals. neighbors didn't think didn't think pigs would wander this far from the mountains.we just figured they wouldn't come as far as we were but leslie "g" was wrong. surveillance footage shows wild pigs ripping up their front yard. it went from this to this. leslie g. - it's several thousand dollars worth of damage that they did so we contacted our insurance company and of course they don't cover our land. they cover the house, but not the land so we're on our own to pay for itdamage was so bad, the family dug up the entire front yard.some of our neighbors were able to flip the grass and fix their lawn but ours was done so badly that some of the holes were a foot and a half to 2 feet deep there's never a good time for pigs to come destroy your land but of course, with the holidays and my son's birthday, and family obligations, i wasn't planning on spending several thousand

dollars to redo our property walking down westside court, you can see the havoc in chris chalmer's yard. he tried fixing it the first night they attacked, but eventually gave up. chris chalmers - came home, put it all together, the next night they came again and a 3rd night they came again. so after the third night we basically gave up.he now has to figure out what to do next. we paid our gardener to remove the torn up stuff for now, just to make it kinda look a little bit better, but as you can see there's still a lot of damage, we're probably just gonna tear it all out and go for a more natural water resistant landscape. many neighbors here are also rethinking the idea of having grass in their yards. reporting from san ramonali reid kron 4 news. (robin) happening today in the happening happening today in the east bay... water officials will be at an oakland elementary school to test the water for lead. the testing will take place this morning at thornhill elementary school. this was one of at least 7 oakland schools where the water tested positive for lead earlier this year. the district says it has taken steps to fix the problem. east bay mud will test the water to make sure the lead is gone. (robin) san francisco is having trouble establishing regulations for the broad, legal recreational marijuana market ... coming this january. writing local rules - has taken a contentious turn, as critics -- many of them older chinese immigrants who oppose marijuana, try to restrict where it can bsold. a

divided san francisco board of supervisors is set to take up the issue today. the board may vote on a stop- gap measure - to allow the sale of 'recreational' marijuana through existing 'medical' marijuana outlets... as the board continues to figure out where it will allow new stores. (robin) the trial for the man accused of killing kate steinle in san francisco is now on hold until next monday when both sides will present their closing arguments. the prosecution was prevented from calling a rebuttal witness yesterday. the judge issuing the ruling after the defense argued that the witness was not credible after being accused of providing misleading testimony in two other murder trials. the defense argues that jose garcia zarate shot kate steinle on accident. the case will be turned over to the jury next week. morning ... on the deadly ghost ship fire in oakland. that warehouse fire killed 36 people last december.this morning ... kron 4's j-r stone goes over a new report that highlights the changes the city has made to address fire hazards. these are the flames that tore through oakland's ghost ship warehouse on december 2nd of 2016. flames that killed 36 people who were inside and injured many more. questions on who is to blame are still out there. two of the warehouse tenants are behind bars and multiple lawsuits have been filed against the city, county, and state.sot the city is absolutely to blame for what happened here. the city says it protects and servces their citizens in this case it turned a blind eye to the death trap that existed. the inspections weren't done the city of oakland released this 17 page report monday.detailing changes they have made in the days, weeks,

and 11 months after the ghost ship fire. first off they have secured funding to double the number of fire code inspectors and significantly increase code inspection staff. 135 properties have been identified as having multiple hazards wihin the city. that includes 32 warehouses or commercial properties where unpermitted residential occupancies were suspected. 11 cases were resolved and they are working with the owners at other properties. property owners have evicted residents at five different locations.including this building on 28th street, this spot on 12th street, this location on international boulevard, thise warehouse on 2nd street, and this building that caught fire, displacing 13 residents, on miller avenue. officials believe these changes have made the city safer and hope that they will help prevent a deadly fire like the one they had last december where 36 people died. is still work to be done. by the end of next year ... the city will have hired 12 new fire code inspectors which will double their staff. they are using an outside company up until then ... to try and catch up on state mandated inspections. (robin) happening today... attorneys are expected to announce a series of lawsuits against p-g-and-e following the north bay firestorm. the lawsuit claims that multiple failures by p-g-and-e ... contributed to the deadly fires. but now p-g- and-e says they are not at fault. instead they say that the tubbs fire... which tore through santa rosa... was started by a private power line. cal fire investigators were at a scene in calistoga yesterday removing items from two homes trying to figure out the cause. 43 people died in the north bay firestorm... 21 of the victims were killed in the tubbs fire. outside clayton has been closed since february. kron 4's charles clifford has an update on the repair work. morgan territory road connects clayton to livermore and as you can see behind me here. it's still closed.morgan territory road was badly damaged by storms last winter. a landslide took out part of the road, damaged a water line and the asphalt for buckled and cracked for about a quarter of mile. people had to walk through here on foot for weeks in order to get home. since then a temporary bypass road has been set up for residents and repair work on morgan territory road beganthis past july. they are making good progress and actually hoping to pave the rebuild roadway this week as well as install guard rails. pge is also doing some final electrical work along this route, including putting in new power poles.finally,the county hasn't se t a date for when the road will reopen but they have scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony for december 2nd so they are confident that the work is almost complete.in contra costa county, charles clifford kron 4 news.

(robin)new this morning ...the opening of new gun store in san carlos has been put on hold.the city council passed a moratorium that will prevent the gun store from opening for 45 days.that will give the city more time to review what standards they can require gun stores to follow. the gun store was proposed to open this month near the 'best buy' on industrial road.we'll have more details in a live report in the next hour of the kron 4 morning news. (robin) in national news... another woman has come forward saying that alabama senate candidate roy moore sexually assaulted her when she was just 16 years old. the woman says it happened after he offered her a ride home from her job in the late 1970's. beverly young

nelson says she was a 16-year-old high school student working at a restaurant where moore was a regular. she agreed to the ride but says instead of driving her home....she claims moore parked in a deserted area and assaulted her. moore was a county prosecutor at the time this comes after last week's washington post report alleging that moore pursued relationships with teenaged women while he was in his 30's. he denies all of the allegations (robin) president trump's son ... donald junior is releasing private messages he exchanged with wikileaks during the presidential campaign. trump junior's lawyers had previously turned the exchanges over to congressional investigators. the communications began last september. wikileaks also sent trump junior more messages over the next several months asking for favors. trump junior says he did not answer them. man pledging a penn state fraternity. this comes, after new surveillance video was released - of the night tim piazza ... died in february of this year. his family says, he died in a hazing ritual, that required fraternity pledges to get as drunk as possible. the district attorney says, the video shows fraternity brothers giving piazza 18- drinks... in 82- minutes. video released earlier shows piazza falling down a flight of stairs after he took the drinks. twelve more members of the fraternity have now been charged in his death. five of them had already been charged in the case ... they now face additional charges. (robin) hate crimes are on the rise across the country for the second straight year. the f-b-i says it's seen an increase in attacks motivated by bias against african americans, jews, muslims and the l-g-b-t-q community. the bay area has seen at least five high profile hate crime incidents this year. many targeting jewish synagogues in the east bay. nationwide

the f-b-i says there were more than 6-thousand hate crimes last year. that's up five percent. the f-b-i- says more than half of racially motivated crimes were against african americans. and more than half of religion motivate crimes targeted jews. (robin)(boxes)there are some new guidelines redifining, who should be diagnosed with high blood pressure. this is the first time in 14 years.the change adds 30- million americans to those who already have the condition. that means now ... nearly half of u.s. adults have it. according to the american heart association ... high blood pressure should now be treated at 130 over 80, instead of 140 over 90 the change results in an additional 14- percent of u.s. adults with high blood pressure. however, doctors say, only two percent of these newly added people... need medication. the rest are urged to try healtheir lifestyles first. high blood pressure raises the risk of heart disease and stroke.

(robin) (robin @landing) friday marks the start of the holiday travel season and it's going to be a busy one. more than 169-thousand people are expected to travel through s-f-o on friday alone. in total- nearly 7 million travelers are expected to be on the move between friday and january first. that's a nearly four percent increase from last year. airports are telling people to arrive at least two hours early for domestic flights and three hours early for international flights. and the t-s-a is implementing a new carry-on baggage screening process for electronic devices. anything larger than a cell-phone must be removed and placed in a separate bin. that includes tablets and e- readers. the man had to be rescued near pescadero point after cutting his finger on a crab pot. moments later the man is hoisted up to the helicopter. he was taken to the hospital and will be okay. accused of killing kate steinle in san francisco is now on hold until next monday en both sides will present their closing arguments. the prosecution was prevented from calling a rebuttal witness yesterday. the judge issuing the ruling after the defense argued that the witness was not credible after being accused of providing misleading testimony in two other murder trials. the defense argues that jose garcia zarate shot kate steinle on accident. the case will likely be turned over to the jury next week. ( darya ) hate crimes are on the rise across the country for the second straight year. the f-b-i says it's seen an increase in attacks motivated by bias against african americans, jews, muslims and the l-g-b-t-q community. the bay area has seen at least five high profile hate crime incidents this year. many targeting jewish synagogues in the east bay. nationwide the f-b-i says there were more than 6-thousand hate crimes last year. that's up five percent. the f-b-i- says

( james ) in stanislaus county a 70-year-old security guard is killed after trying to break up a fight. karl whitehead died of his injures. the assault happened in a downtown modesto parking garage. 33-year-old don lacey was booked on charges that include assault with great bodily harm. officers say lacy struck whitehead after the security guard tried to stop an argument between him and a parking attendant. a witness followed lacey and helped police track him down. ( james ) wild hogs are causing some serious problems for homeowners in san ramon. take a look at this video -- you can see them just tearing up this yard. kron4's ali ried talked to the homeowner who captured this wild scene. street has had any damage done

by wild animals. neighbors didn't think pigs would wander this far from the mountains.we just figured they wouldn't come as far as we werebut leslie "g" was wrong. surveillance footage shows wild pigs ripping up their front yard. it went from this to this. leslie g. - it's several thousand dollars worth of damage that they did so we contacted our insurance company and of course they don't cover our land. they cover the house, but not the land so we're on our own to pay for itdamage was so bad, the family dug up the entire front yard.some of our neighbors were able to flip the grass and fix their lawn but ours was done so badly that some of the holes were a foot and a half to 2 feet deep there's never a good time for pigs to come destroy your land but of course, with the holidays and my son's birthday, and family obligations, i wasn't planning on spending several thousand dollars to redo our property walking down westside court, you can see the havoc in chris chalmer's yard. he tried fixing it the first night they attacked, but eventually gave up. chris chalmers - came home, put it all together, the next night they came again and a 3rd night they came again. so after the third night we basically gave up.he now has to figure out what to do next. we paid our gardener to remove

( will ) the testing will take place this morning at thornhill elementary school. this was one of at least 7 oakland schools where the water tested positive for lead earlier this year. the district says it has taken steps to fix the problem. east bay mud will test the water to make sure the lead is gone.

( james ) this morning we have new details about the steps the city of oakland is taking to prevent another deadly warehouse fire. next month marks one year since 36 people were killed in the ghost ship warehouse fire. the city released a report yesterday saying they are addressing six issues including bringing buildings up to code and increasing fire and building inspections. among the big changes..the city will increase its fire code inspectors from 8 to 20...by the end of next year. derick almena and max harris face 36 counts each of

( darya ) as rain returns to the bay area... some places are still recovering from last winter's storms. in contra costa county, morgan territory road outside clayton has been closed since february. the road connects clayton to livermore. last winter... a landslide took out part of the road... damaged a water line... and the asphalt buckled and cracked. repair on the road began in july and this week crews are hoping to pave the rebuild roadway and install new guard rails. the county has not said when the road will reopen but they are hoping... work will be done by early next month. ( darya ) in the santa cruz mountains road repairs are disrupting access to some homes. it's all because of storm damage left over from last winter... crews are trying to fix two roadways... black road and skyline boulevard near los gatos. the problem - if both are closed at the same time - it

a rollover hit-and-run collision last thursday. the collision happened around 7:30 pm on san bruno and seventh avenue. the driver of the car that fled the scene has been identified as 42-year old san jose resident dung ha. according to police, ha abandoned his car on the shoulder of 101 and attempted to flee the area on foot before behind aprehended. the driver of the vehicle that rolled over was taken to the hospital for their injuries but is expected to survive. (james) in the east bay.... a u-c berkeley student has been ordered to stand trial on charges of murder and attempted murder. police say pablo gomez junior killed 27 year-old emile inman in her home on january 6th. officers discovered her body while investigating the stabbing of another woman, about a mile away. a roommate was also hurt in the

attack and survived. gomez was later arrested in burbank, where he is from. a judge ruled yesterday that there is enough evidence to send the case to trial. forward saying that alabama senate candidate roy moore sexually assaulted her when she was just 16 years old. the woman says it happened after he offered her a ride home from her job in the late 1970's. beverly young nelson says she was a 16-year-old high school student working at a restaurant where moore was a regular. she agreed to the ride but says instead of driving her home....she claims moore parked in a deserted area and assaulted her. moore was in his 30's and a county prosecutor at the time. this is the fifth sexual assault charge against the prospective senator. republican senator lindsey graham says moore should do more than just step aside if the allegations are true. (james)moore has denied any wrongdoing -- and calls the new allegations a "witch hunt."

a major hot spot accident wb 580 at west end richmond bridge drive less than 20 min from the toll to 101 ( james ) to the east bay... where wild hogs are causing some serious problems for homeowners in san ramon. neighbors didn't think pigs would wander this far from the mountains. but take a look at this video -- you can see them just tearing up this yard. the homeowner says the pigs caused thousands of dollars worth of damage... so her family had to dig up the entire yard.

check back with you through out (darya) as rain (darya) as rain returns to the bay area... some places are still recovering from last winter's storms. in contra costa county, morgan territory road outside clayton has been closed since february. the road connects clayton to livermore. last winter... a landslide took out part of the road... damaged a water line... and the asphalt buckled and cracked. repair on the road began in july and this week crews are hoping to pave the rebuild roadway and install new guard rails. the county has not said when

the road will reopen but they are hoping... work will be done by early next month. ( darya ) in the santa cruz mountains road repairs are disrupting access to some homes. it's all because of storm damage left over from last winter... crews are trying to fix two roadways... black road and skyline boulevard near los gatos. the problem - if both are closed at the same time - it blocks access to 200 homes. to help people who live in the area... santa clara county is now postponing work on black road until cal-trans finishes work on skyline. that means the work on black road may not resume until after thanksgiving. ( james ) in the east bay. this morning we have new details about the steps the city of oakland is taking to prevent another deadly warehouse fire. next month marks one year since 36 people were killed in the ghost ship warehouse fire. the city released a report yesterday saying they are addressing six issues including bringing buildings up to code and increasing fire and building inspections. among the big changes..the city will increase its fire code
