the rain hitting the bay area tonight. and it's causing a lot of concern in the areas already devastated by the wildfires.(grant) residents are being warned that flooding could force them to evacuate... once again. kron four's terisa estacio is in santa rosa's fountain- grove neighborhood where work is being done to try to avoid another disaster. terisa?

this is a gravel bag - it is just one of many measures crews are using to try and prevent mudslides, landslide and flooding all because of the wildfires.with a big storm threatening to potentially cause major problems in the burn areas of santa rosa, there is no time to waste. paul lowenthal, asst fire marshall santa rosa fire dept. " so there is a lot of work being down close caption television crews monitor storm drains, public works crews are on sites identifying problems. paul lowenthal, the assistant fire marshall in santa rosa explains, one particular concern, those water pipes that burned in the fires now creating sink holes - lowenthal. we continue to monitor 23 sites. lowenthal says they sent out notices to one thousand residents in fountaingrove warning residents to beware of the compromised pipes and to report any sinkholes immediately. i caught up with this crw as they showed me video as they inspected the drains. in addition to pipes, there is a worry about all of the debris from the destroyed homes. lowenthal. gravel

for san franciscians looking forward to being able to lgally buy recreational marijuana next year .get ready for a buzz kill.(vicki) the board of supervisors has put off voting on its cannabis legislation, which means it's unlikely that the city will be ready for legalized recreational weed sales on january 1st.(grant) kron4's maureen kelly explains the pot predicament. 74 percent of san francisco voters said yes to the law that will allow adults 21 and over to toke up in california without needing a doctor's note. but before you can put down cash for the chronic.local cities need to be ready to issue permits to the stores who want to sell it. san francisco supervisors were expected to debate their cannabis legislation tuesday night.but there's been a lot of last minute tinkering.so the debate was delayed. supervisor peskin doesn't want dispensaries in chinatown, supervisor norm and yee doesn't want dispensaries in the west portal corredor call kym is now saying since there a lot of dispensary south of market that she wants a cab

(grant) an indian food company in the east bay is recalling certain products because they could make you sick. (vicki) "sukhi's gourmet indian foods" is based in based in hayward. tonight they are recalling pre- packaged tikka masala products over possible listeria contamination. the products affected have a "use by" date of november 7th. six or seven masked men stormed into the store with pepper spray and sprayed two employees. they then started using using hammers on a display case filled with rolex watches. but they could not crack through the glass. (vicki) the group left the store without stealing any jewelry. the two employees who were pepper sprayed are expected to be okay. (vicki) a coalition of agricultural groups is now challenging california's decision to put a cancer warning on the popular weed killer "roundup." a judge ruled in favor of the labels .... based on information from the international agency for research on cancer. but the group says the main ingredient in roundup is not restricted by the e-p-a. according to the new lawsuit... the warning violates constitutional due-process and free-speech rights. it also violates the supremacy clause giving precedence to federal regulations over state ones. (grant) a party game company is trying to capitalize on president trump's plan to build a wall on the mexican border.

"cards against humanity" says it has bought a piece of land along the border - and will use it to try and stop the project. the company is encouraging customers to buy its 15-dollar gift packages to help in the effort. they were apparently sold out within hours of launching the program this morning. there is no word on where the land is located, but the company says it bought "acres" of it. (vicki) there is a growing debate over a proposed day care facility in the east bay. it would be located on boyd road... near pleasant hill road... in pleasant hill. the planning commission held a meeting to hear from the community about the new school. parents say they are looking forward to another option after sitting on wait lists at other schools for years. but people who live in the area say that adding the day care to an already busy street will be a safety

since early this morning and still at this hour, crews are working to try and take measures to protect santa rosa. take a look at this hillside. the green is actually a spray product to help with errosion. paul lowenthal, santa rosa. we have been using different products. lowenthal says santa rosa crews always face challenges in heavy rains, but with the fires - it is a heaver load. lowenthal. it is complex. crews from the city, state, federal and outside contractors were on site

after getting arrested in stockton earlier today. saito walked away from the hospital in hawaii over the weekend-- and took a taxi to the honolulu airport, then flew to san jose. police in stockton arrested saito after a tip from a cab driver. kron 4's rob fladeboe spoke to that driver today and joins us now live in stockton with the details. last night the san francisco board of supervisors delayed debating the issue for two weeks as they work to iron out where the proposed recreational pot shops can legally operate. some supervisors have proposed caps or outright bans on the storefronts in their neigborhoods. the delay means it's most likely the city won't be ready for legal recreational sales of marijuana come january first. that delay has some cannabis advocates frustrated.
