speaking out to kron 4. this as police are still searching for her killer. and now... south san francisco police have released details of the suspected driver. the crash happened saturday near the intersection of el camino real and hazelwood drive near brentwood bowl. that's where teresa gonzalez was crossing the street to try and get to an uber. she was on her way home after a night out. as she was crossing the street to get into the car, a car hit her and fled the scene. gonzalez's daughters describe the relastionship as special. (robin) the driver is described as a white man in his early to mid 30's. he is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 220 pounds. they say he had a pencil thin mustache and a short faded haircut. he's believed to have been

driving a black 1998 through 2000 toyota or lexus. (robin) happening now... police are searching for two dogs who are now missing after a dog walkers' truck crashed into a san francisco home. it happned just before five last night on 26th avenue and santiago street in the city's parkside neighborhood. the truck somehow started rolling down a hill--hitting parked cars then crashing into a building. a woman and child inside the car were taken to the hospital. after the crash three dogs in the back of the truck jumped out. the remaining dogs were comforted until they were reunited with their owners. (robin) flu season is in full swing. and we are now hearing about the first flu death in the bay area. a man died earlier this month in santa clara county. officials say he was under 65 years old but had other conditions that increased the risk of complications. kron-4's dan kerman talked to doctors who say it's a grave reminder that people need to

have been given out so far this year (robin) the f-b-i is offering a reward up to 20-thousand dollars for information leading to arrests in specific bay area murder cases. the oakland and the richmond police departments are asking for the public's help identifying the suspects responsible for several homicides. the murders date back to 2005. anyone with info on these cases is asked to call police. for a longer look at the pictures, and specifics on the cases we've posted all that on kron4.com. (robin) we are learning more about a police shooting near the richmond bart station... it happened at the metro walk transit village.. the two bart officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.. as kron4's haaziq madyun reports officers were responding to reports of a man with a rifle.. this yellow arrow is pointing to a bullet hole in a garage door of a townhome on village lane in richmond. the hole marks the location where two

bart police officers fired their guns at man who was reported to be armed although bart police officers were involved in the shooting, the incident took place in richmond's metro walk transit village. that means the richmond police department is in charge of the investigation. richmond police lt. felix tan says around 12:30am bart police received a call about a disturbance at the richmond station but when bart police arrived the man they were looking for was no longer on bart property. the officers searched the area and found him about a block from the stationdavid bell/metro walk resident: "definitely pop, pop, a couple of shots"

(robin) in santa rosa... a damaged drain pipe gave way creating a sinkhole. it's in the fountain-grove neighborhood where fires melted underground plastic pipes. but vigiliant crews were well prepared to fix the problem. they had been bracing for the possibility of sinkholes after discovering the damage. now officials say they've found about 10 new sites where pipes may have been destroyed. the damage not only creates the possibility of sinkholes. but the lack of good drainage can potentially cause localized flooding. (robin) an early winter storm has dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the mountains

around lake tahoe. this is video from the mount rose ski resort. the national weather service reports 26 inches of snow has fallen on the top of the mount rose ski resort since wednesday. and about a foot of snow was reported early today near incline village at lake tahoe. (robin) southern california health officials continue to investigate the source of a legionnairies' outbreak at disneyland. officials are inspecting two cooling towers near the resort. both structures were recently disinfected after high levels of legionnaires were found. that bacteria has sickened a

total of 15 people...two of whome have died. disneyland has since been re-opened however visiters are still on edge. (robin) of the 15 people who caught legionnairies. 11 of those visited disneyland in september. the other four lived or had visited anaheim suggesting there could be sources of infection not yet discovered. (robin) and how do you catch legionnaires' disease which is a series lung infection. breathing in air that contains bacteria. it also comes from contaminated water systems like air conditioners. the disease is normally not spread from person to person. (robin) in the east bay... seven families are being forced out of their homes. and it's so the city can extend a roadway and widen a sidewalk. in downtown

oakley o'hara avenue dead ends into main street just 100 yards short of the train tracks. that's where the seven homes stand. the weder family has owned the land since the 1940s. they rent out six of the homes below market value to help offer affordable housing. mark weder says the city made an offer to buy the property but is was under market value. now the city has seized their land and all seven homes under eminent (robin) the city manager tells kron4 the roadway plans have been in the process for 20 years. the official eviction is likely to go down in late spring early summer.

they are working with the city attorney's office to compensate the affected families and help them relocate. (robin) another big story we are following this morning... we are hearing from a man described as a violent pshycopath. he escaped from a mental hospital in hawaii then flew to san jose all before being caught in stockton. melinda meza sat down with the man in a jailhouse interview. he says he did it to prove that he is ánotá a danger to society. melinda meza/reporter"did you have help?"randall saito/patient"i would rather not answer that."convicted killer randall saito sits in a san joaquin county jail cell. telling us he escaped to prove he's ready for release.randall saito/patient"i can live in a community without doing drugs without hurting anyone and proving to them without a doubt, without a doubt i did it."saito was in a hawaii mental hospital in hawaii for the past 38 years.he was acquitted of murder by reason of insanity.randall

city of oakland will be issuing a report on the safety changes made over the past eleven months since the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire. officials will discuss what has been done and what still needs to be done. mayor libby schaaf will update us on her promise to make oakland a safer place to live. also in attendance will be the oakland fire chief, and the city's housing director. it will be held at city hall later this morning. (robin)new details about a stabbing at a safeway in berkeley. a clerk was stabbed after police say an employee confronted a person who was shoplifting...it happened at the safeway on shattuck just before 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. the person with the knife ran out of the store and has not been caught.police have not yet released a description of the suspect. (robin)(boxes) the rain caused more problems for people who live in the north bay firestorm burn zone. a damaged drain pipe gave way to a sinkhole in the fountaingrove neighborhood in santa rosa. crews had been bracing for this possibility after discovering melted underground pipes. sinkholes are not the only concern in the area.. a lack of good drainage pipes can also lead to flooding..

daija foster is a graduate of the alive and free, omega boys club program. but it didn't come easy.daija foster - they helped me deal with my anger, fear and pain which is something i struggled with for years. instead of going to see a therapist, coming to omega was therapeutic. daija's best friend and older brother christian was murdered when she was a freshman in high school. he was getting ready to graduate college in the spring from notre dame with a degree in communicationsto cope, she turned to drugs and alcohol. but that all had to stop in order for her to pass the omega program. even while dealing with turmoil in her personal life.witnessed a murder first hand at a party, and not knowing how to contain it. coming to omega and saying this is what happened and i don't know how to contain it. having that supportive cast, like we're here just to send you to college. we're here to support you. when i was away at school i was sexually assaulted, and miss estelle was the first person i called after my mom. and just having that supportive cast so far away from home was like, these people are always here for me. daija went on to graduate from spellman college, and is currently pursuing a doctorate

( james ) in santa rosa... a damaged drain pipe gave way creating a sinkhole. it's in the fountain-grove neighborhood where fires melted underground plastic pipes. but crews were well prepared to fix the problem. they had been bracing for the possibility of sinkholes after discovering the damage. now officials say they've found about 10 new sites where pipes may have been destroyed. the damage not only creates the possibility of sinkholes. but the lack of good drainage can potentially cause localized flooding. are. the weder family has owned the land since the 1940s. they rent out six of the homes below market value to help offer affordable housing. mark weder says the city made an offer to buy the property but is was under market value. now the city has seized their land and all seven homes under eminent domain. ( darya ) the city manager tells kron4 the roadway plans have been in the process for 20 years. the city says it is working with the city attorney's office to compensate the affected families and help them relocate.

( james ) a crash involving a sheriff's vehicle in l-a... kills two children and injures three others. deputies were responding to an emergency call after someone was shot. but on the way to the scene... deputies were involved in a three-car crash and then they hit five pedestrians. we do not know the ages or genders of those killed... but we do know they are children. two deputies were also taken to the hospital... they're expected to be released soon. ( darya ) southern california health officials continue to investigate the source of a legionnairies' outbreak at disneyland. officials are inspecting two cooling towers near the resort. both structures were recently disinfected after high levels of legionnaires were found. that bacteria has sickened a total of 15 people...two of whome have died. disneyland has since been re-opened however visiters are still on edge.

( darya ) southern california health officials continue to investigate the source of a legionnairies' outbreak at disneyland. officials are inspecting two cooling towers near the resort. both structures were recently disinfected after high levels of legionnaires were found. that bacteria has sickened a total of 15 people...two of whome have died. disneyland has since been re-opened however visiters are still on edge.
