estacio - oakland. bart officials confirmed with kron four news they took the man in custody at the 12th street station early this morning.(estacio) bart officials say they have now detained the man in this alarming video who was caught on camera berating a passenger spewing racial slurs. the incident happened on a richmond train heading to fremont this past monday. bart spokesperson alicia troust tells kron four news quote, they have identified him, but did not release his name to us. also, she added, they will be moving forward in seeking a prohibition order to ban him from the system." the victim in the video, did not want to press charges - he told kron four news that he was certainly concerned, especially when the man struck him not once but twice in the face. and the man who recorded the video told kron four he too was scared that

"as long as im aware of my surroundings i'm not too worried." in each case... college students were walking alone and targeted by two people. police are advising people in the area to pay attention to their surroundings. try to travel in groups when possible and stay in well-lit areas. (grant) the competition is on... portland oregon now wants to have the tallest building on the west coast. (vicki) take a look... the proposed project would have two skyscrapers connected by a glass-enclosed sky- bridge. the taller of the two towers would stand a little more than 970-feet tall. below would be a botanical garden. portland designers say the city needs an attraction and this would be it. (vicki) what they want to build in portland will rival san francisco's sales force tower. but the bay area building will be taller. still under construction.. still under construction.. the sales force tower stands at 1-thousand-70 feet. the building is scheduled to open ... early next year. one side note.. that portland building will be 60 feet taller than san francisco's sutro tower. day ... if you really want a long happy life, get a dog.a new study has found certain breeds are more likely to prolong your life.(grant )and certain people are more likely to enjoy the benefits. catherine heenan is here to tell us about it.catherine? (catherine) the study comes from sweden, where every dog must be registered.. that meant the researchers had wide access to personal health records. the verdict: people who own dogs live longer, and have a lower risk of heart failure. natdog ownership has the greatest impact on people living alone ... reducing the overall death rate by 36 percent ... and the risk of fatal heart disease by 36 percent.people living with others enjoy a lower benefit, but it is still significant. the researchers say they are not sure why dog owners are healthier.but they note that they tend to get more exercise walking their pets.dogs also provide comfort and stress reduction.all that licking may also be good for you, by stimulating your immune system. it turns out some breeds are better for you than others. beagles, dachshunds, pointers and retrievers top the

taking parking it will begin taking parking and shuttle reservations. reservations can be made online or by phone starting january 1st...(vicki) the reservations will help with the crowds, traffic congestion and parking issues . the vehicle or shuttle booking gives the visitor a timed arrival with no restriction on the length of stay for that day. demand is expected to be high, and reservations will be required by january 16th. issued today says auto companies have replaced only 57 percent of potentially deadly takata air bags... those recalls have been underway for more than 15 years. (vicki) the report says that auto companies are only about halfway toward a december 31st goal of 100 percent replacement. takata air bags can explode with too much force and hurl shrapnel into drivers and passengers. at least 19 people have been killed worldwide and more than 180 injured. (vicki) it's the touchdown everyone was talking about after the 49ers game last sunday. (grant) marquise goodwin was very emotional in the endzone. and after the game-- the fans and media learned why. (vicki) kron four's henry wofford spoke with head coach kyle shanahan about the emotional touchdown. we've seen touchdowns celebrated various ways but none quite like this one. last sunday when marquise goodwin strolled toward the goal line, he blew a kiss and pointed to the sky, then he dropped to his knees and began to pray. the 49ers players and coaches were aware of what the speedy wide receiver was going through.kyle shanahan says:"i know marquise was hurting bad, real bad, and i know he will for a while, and i know his wife will too." understandably, an emotional goodwin did not talk with reporters after the game. but later that night he posted this photo on instagram, with

a message that included quote: "unfortunately we lost our baby boy to some complications and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4am. although we are hurt i am grateful for the experience and grateful that god blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as morgan. shanahan says:"i've been around and i've been a coach for a while. i've been with players who lost one of their parents the days before games and stuff. i think everyone reacts differently to that stuff. so, i don't think you can judge or expect anything. i've had some people who a death happens and they can't see anyone, and they have to go home right away. you totally understand that and respect it. i've been around some people who that happens and they need to play the next day. they think that's what someone would want and that's very important to them and helps them." marquise said mentally and physically he was unprepared to play last sunday against the giants. but his wife, morgan, enouraged him to give it a try. shanahan says:"then he got here, and pastor earl who worked with him a lot and comforted him a lot did a great job with him. by the time i was able to talk to marquise, he was hurting, but he was adamant he wanted to play. for a guy to go through that, to have those emotions, to go the whole night before, really not sleeping very much, and to come out there and have some very pivotal plays in that game and make a huge difference, it says a lot about the guy. regardless whether he played good or bad, the fact that he was out there and tried his hardest and tried to help us was the most important." marquise and morgan named their son, marquise goodwin junior.

wisconsin is america's "cheese state."(catherine) but what should have been just another day took a wrong turn today when there was an explosion at a cheese plant in fond du lac county... an employee suffered broken bones and burns in an explosion and fire. he'd reportedly been using a torch to cut apart an empty 55-gallon barrel when the explosion happened. emergency crews airlifted the man to the hospital. the fire chief says crews managed to put out the fire before it caused extensive damage.
