one of the two inmates who escaped from custody in palo alto ... is in custody after a police shooting in stockton. now the hunt is on for the other suspect. yesterday evening police chased a car down the trinity parkway... eventually the driver jumped out and ran inside a walmart. he was later arrested. that man has been identified as tramel mcclough. these are the two most recent pictures of the two inmates. police say the passneger in the car was john bivins. he jumped in the driver seat and took off. that is when police opened fire. it is not clear if he was hit.bivins was driving a green 19-99 ford explorer, license plate 7- t-y-y-5-0-5. police say he should be considered dangerous. (robin) after weeks of testimony ... the fate of the man on trial for the

murder of kate steinle on san francisco's pier 14 ... is now in the hands of the jury. (áááboxesááá) 12 men and women are deliberating the case against jose garcia zarate.the prosecution says, he fired the gun deliberately..... and the defense argues ... the shooting was accidental. the suspect is charged with murder. the jury has the options of first degree or second degree murder, as well as involuntary manslaughter ... and not guilty. unless they reach a verdict today ... they will continue deliberations on monday. for lawrence janson at olympic high school is now replaced with a sign, reading his family appreciates the kindness and has collected all the flowers and candles.new evidence has lead concord police to charge the 5 suspects arrested for shooting and killing the 17 year old in early november right by his school with murder.including 20 year old kris-thiam uceda and 18 year old bryan cha-kah-chagua.the other 3 suspects are minors and are 17 years old.nats the hand signs also lt mike kindorf tells me, detectives found evidence linking them to the notorious ms-13 street gang.sot gang writings or clothing gang indicators if you will police have also charged the same group with attempted murder for a shooting that happened in concord's ellis lake park in october where a woman in her 20's was shot in the leg. police arrested a 6th person in that crime.. and posted this picture of him shirtless being led away in handcuffs.he

a 5-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a wanted fugitive. this man --- russell allen lyles junior ... is a known member of the hells angels motorcycle club. lyles is wanted on several charges including racketeering and conspiracy. police say lyles lives in windsor and has a home in healdsburg. investigators believe he may be traveling with his pregnant fiance ... who is not a fugitive from the law. if you see him --- police say do not approach him... and call them instead. several other members of the motorcyle gang were among eleven people indicted in the racketeering case involving murder and witness intimidation. (robin)breaking overnight ... search and rescue efforts are underway after a u-s navy plane crashed in the pacific ocean.the crash happened near okinawa ... off the coast of japan.u-s officials say 11 people were on the plane ... which was on its way to the u-s-s ronald reagan.japanese officials say 8 of them have been found ... they are all alive.this is a developing story ... we'll keep you updated throughout the morning.

(robin) a story you'll see only on kron4 this morning. frustration at a mobile home park in san jose ... where neighbors spent a third night without power. ella sogomonian has more on whats going on to fix the problem. sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "you can see how dark it is out here and people have had to rely on candlelight and flashlights to get around in their homes and the community both in the morning and at night because of how dark it is this time of year. but they say the real problem is the management company hasn't been communicating well enough with them or prioritizing." power at the oakcrest estates mobile home park in san jose shut down sunday morning around 7:30. for a third day people in more than 100 units continue to clutch flashlights and light candles to get by. sot: patricia gold, resident//"without heat it's been rather chilly and all of our perishables are spoiling rapidly."frustrated residents say they've been kept in the dark in more ways than one. saying sierra management who oversees the community hasn't been informing them properly throughout the ordeal.although

101 (robin @landing)in the east bay ... just days before a 14 year old de anza high school student was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to school in richmond. we have learned that west contra costa county school district voted to do away with resource officers. kron4's charles clifford the details. last week, the west contra costa county school district

board approved a plan to implement a new a positive school climate policy. the policy is a broad reaching attempt to rethink how student discipline is handled across the district. one aspect of the new policy is a re- evalution of the role of school resource officers. when the policy is fully in place the number of sro's could be reducedsotdebbie long is the mayor of pinole. she's not opposed to the goals of the new policy but she believes the sro program works and she doesn't want to see it changed.sot as an example of the benefits of the program, long points to an incident this past friday at de anza high school in richomnd. in that case, a school resource officer received information that a 14-year-old student had brought a gun onto campus. the officer informed school staff, the student was detained and then arrested after a loaded handgun was found in his backpack.sotkron 4 reached out to the west contra costa county school district tuesdy evening but no

one was available for comment. it's also not clear exactly what changes will be made the sro program. the newly approved positive school climate policy only states that a school by school needs assessment will be completed by march of next year and that the results will be used to set sro staffing levels for the 2018-2019 school year.long believes the district should leave the program alone.sotin richmond, charles clifford kron 4 news. (robin) uber is coming clean about its cover- up of a year-old hacking attack. more than 57- million customers ... as well as drivers personal information were all stolen in the hack.the revelation marks the latest stain on uber's reputation. uber current c-e-o criticized the company's handling of the data theft ... but says there is no evidence the stolen information has been misused. names,

email addresses, and phone numbers of millions were taken in the heist. the thieves also nabbed the driver's license numbesr of 600- thousand uber drivers. (robin) in the south bay. a teacher is behind bars... accused of sexually assualting a 12 -year old girl. 45-year-old chad zitzner was arrested at his home yesterday. police say zitzner came into contact with the 12-year old victim while teaching for math enrichment ... a private summer math camp that employs local teachers in the summer. chad zitzner was also a world history teacher at broadway high school in san jose. he has been put on leave. (robin) in the entertainment industry ... comes another bombshell ... and this one has local ties. the head of disney's pixar studio in emeryville is taking a leave of absence. john lasseter sent an email to staff yesterday ...referring to -- quote -- "missteps" on his part that made some feel uncomfortable. former insiders have said he is known for hugging people liberally... and invading their space. one actress

in theaters december 15th.(nat) mankini news, yes, you heard that right. sacha baron cohen is coming to the rescue of a group of six czech tourists who were arrested for posing for pictures in the capital city of kazakhstan wearing his character borat's signature mankini. the b-b-c reports the tourists were fined for "indecent" appearance. baron cohen has offered to pay their fines which amount to roughly 67-dollars each. kazakhstan was a central focus of baron cohen's 20-06 comedy featuring his borat character. in hollywood, i'm rick damigella. morning ... the s-f-m-t-a voted to ban cannabis ads on public transportation. the policy change puts cannabis products in the same category as alcohol, tobacco and firearms...which are prohibited. board members say the decision was motivated by the fact that a lot of minors use public transportation, and they did not feel comfortable with exposing them to products you must be an adult to consume.. the proposal called for the issue to be revisited in six months. (robin) dozens of families in hayward celebrated thanksgiving early. the hayward adult school ... partnered with a number of agencies to feed low income and foster children in the area. kron 4's ali reid was there. pkgit's all smiles at this early thanksgiving event.a lot of them are disadvantaged and come from households that are from the community. and this is gorgeous. they turned this place into a wonderlandlots of food and dessert for everyone to enjoy.everybody struggles and it is so important to remember that things will get good and we have things to be thankful forthis is all geared

towards low income families and foster children like celena johnson.i was born 2 pounds. my mother was addicted to drugs so i was born with fetal alcohol syndromenow 18, and celebrating with her foster family celena just graduated high school, and is heading to cal state east bay with a goal of becoming a nurse. for tonight, she's helping with the event.i feel great to work with people that want to give back and provide for people from low income like i'm fromeverything at this thanksgiving dinner was donated. from food, linens, volnteers, and the money that helped put this all together. what started with about 20 students eating a home cooked meal, is now upwards of 200 in a catered setting.i want our families in hayward to know that they are welcome here and we'll do whatever it takes to give them a memory of a lifetime with one night here together the important thing is the families that are in need. this is the perfect time to show some love and kindness at thanksgiving it's all about giving and we're so proud of the hayward adult school to make this happenthe woman behind all of this once had her own case worker after being kicked out of school at age 15.i've had people invest time into me and mentor me and that's the same thing i want to do with the kids because if those people didn't invest in me i wouldn't be the woman i

this morning ... the colma police department have released new security footage of a violent robbery inside a starbucks.it happened back in february.stanley roberts has the story. what you are witnessing is a very violent robbery which will leave a customer seriously injured and two laptops stolen all in a split second this is the starbucks in the town of colma and three men enter one wearing a giants jersey, one has a shirt with a pineapple on it and the last has on a warriors hoodie they enter the coffee shop and walk out of frame notice the table to the left of the screen there are three people sitting each one has a laptop you are looking at a video from a fixed security camera inside the starbucks given to kron 4 by the colma police department; they hope maybe someone can identify one of more of the men notice the man in the blue shirt, he gets up and walks out of frame then the man wearing the pineapple shirt appears in the video then he walks out of frame

then the man in the warriors hoodie appears and begins to pace around . then he is briefly joined by the man in the pineapple shirt this pacing goes one for what appears to be a few minutes and one point stops and stares with both hands inside his hoodie then finally the man who was sitting at the table returns to his seat then just as the man wearing the pineapple shirt reappears the man sitting at the table leaves again then if you watch carefully the man wearing the warriors hoodie nods to give the ok .. in case you missed it here is the nod again then as he walks out the door the man in the giants jersey snatches lets top the video right here you can see he has two laptops and then he darts out the door this is when it turns violent the man in the pineapple shirt also tried to escape but one of the customers tries to grab him . he punched her in the face she was treated for a fractured nose and eye socket if you can identify any of the men involved colma police would like for you to give them a call .colma police also recommend that you don't put your personal safety at risk by trying to stop the thieves just let the thieves have ithere is a look at all three one more time .. if you know someone say something in the town of colma stanley roberts kron 4 news

(robin) as days pass since the north bay firestorm ... we continue to learn more about the people killed in that tragedy. kron 4's dan kerman tells us about marjorie schwartz of santa rosa. sotwe're sad, we're going to miss marnie's voice, we're going to miss marnierabbi george gittleman is talking about marnie schwartz who died when fire raced through her coffey park homesot rabbi george gittleman/congregation shomrei torah 10-20marnie and i had a close relationship. we regularly sat down together to talk about judiasm, to talk about the text we were engaged in the bible and other jewish texts.gittleman says schwartz lived alone and had family back east. he says she was committed to social justice, taught english as a second

cassidy, who came to fame as a '70s teen heart-throb and lead singer on "the partridge family,"...has died. the singer and actor had been in the hospital with liver and kidney failure in fort lauderdale. he was born into a famous family... his father was actor and singer jack cassidy, and his mother was actress evelyn ward. he shot to fame on the partridge family show in the 1970's... david cassidy... passed away last night at the age of 67. (robin) the oakland raiders are making changes to their coaching staff. they have fired defensive coordinator ken norton junior. the team made the announcement yesterday. head coach jack del rio says he has the upmost respect for norton junior--- but he is moving forward and john pagano will now lead the defense. norton junior has been norton norton junior has been with the raider since 2015. the raiders defense does not have an interception this year... and have under performed as a whole. their next game is sunday against the denver broncos. some faculty, staff and students at laney college in oakland are not happy about the proposed new a's ballpark location. last thursday more than 1,000 teachers and staff voted in opposition of the development. 90 percent of students recently voted to oppose the development. many fear the new ballpark would accelerate expensive housing development and and push out long-time residents. (robin) the national park service is giving people more time to weigh in on a proposed fee increase. visitors would be charged 70 dollars per vehicle at the 17 most

popular national parks. that's up from the current 30 dollar fee during the five busiest months of the year. most of the 17 sites are in the west, including grand canyon, yosemite, yellowstone, zion and mount rainier. the comment period had been scheduled to end this thursday and the new deadline is december 22nd. of the millions of people predicted to fly during this thanksgiving holiday,here are some helpful tips on how to avoid all the germs. try to purchase a seat towards the front of the airplane. air ventilation systems on most commercial aircraft provide better air flow in the front. ( lydia ) according to triple-a close to 51 ámillion americans will be heading 50 miles or more away from home this thanksgiving... and when you look at the numbers -1.6 million more people are expected to travel in 2017 than they did last year making it the busiest thanksgiving since 2005. -air travel numbers are taking flight from 2016 they're expected to be up five percent to nearly 4 million travelers. for many thanksgiving is about

first... laptops are allowed on planes but the t-s-a says they must be taken out of your bag and placed in a separate bin as you go through security. you may also be asked to take all other gadgets out of your bag if they are bigger than a cell phone. and if you are traveling with a spare lithium ion battery for your laptop... it must be in your carry-on bag. it cannot be in a checked bag or that bag may not be allowed on the plane and your luggage could get left behind. ( anny ) and starting today... triple-a is expanding their car sharing service to s-f-o. the service called "gig" will expand to the 'park 'n fly' lot at the airport. this means that those car sharing drivers can park in any of those spaces at the airport free of charge. travelers flying out of s- f-o will also be able to reserve a 'gig' after landing at the airport. ( anny ) and if you are staying in the bay area for thanksgiving... a reminder that bart will be operating on a modified schedule. trains will run on a sunday

( james ) breaking overnight ... search and rescue efforts are underway after a u-s navy plane crashed in the pacific ocean. the crash happened near okinawa ... off the coast of japan. u-s officials say 11 people were on the plane ... which was on its way to the u-s-s ronald reagan. japanese officials say 8 of them have been found alive and are in good condition. we'll keep you updated throughout the morning as we continue to learn new details. ( james ) frustration grows at a mobile home park in san jose... after neighbors spend a third night without power. the power went out sunday morning at the oakcrest estates mobile home park. people living in more than 100 unites are using flashlights

involuntary manslaughter. his lawyer says garcia zarate should be found not guilty on all counts since he says the shooting of kate steinle was an accident. he argues that garcia zarate found the gun and it went off when he picked it up. the prosecutor called the defense's theory fiction and argued that the shots were fired on purpose. ( anny ) in the east bay... five people have been charged with the murder of a high school student lawrence janson in concord. the killing happened earlier this month outside of olympic high school. the investigation now shows that all the suspects are associated with the criminal street gang m-s-13. police also believe the 5 are connected to another shooting in october. a sixth suspect in the october shooting, a 17- year-old boy, has now also been charged. that suspect does not appear to have been present for the murder of janson. police have added on a gang enhancement charge for all six suspects.

( james ) happening now: the f-b-i...c-h-p and santa rosa police are offering a 5- thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a wanted fugitive. this man --- russell allen lyles junior...is a known member of the hells angels motorcycle club... he is wanted on several charges. he lives in windsor and has a home in healdsburg.... but he may be traveling with a pregnant fiance. several other members of the motorcyle gang were among eleven people indicted in the racketeering case involving murder and witness intimidation. ( james ) the west contra costa county school district may cut resource officers. a vote on a new program came days ábefore a 14-year-old de anza high school student was arrested. that student brought a loaded gun to school. the school district board approved the "positive school climate" policy last week. the goal is re-evaluate student discipline. it's not clear exactly what changes will be made to the s-r-o program. the new policy only states that a school by school assessment must be done

( anny ) in the south bay. a teacher is behind bars... accused of molesting a 12 -year old girl. 45-year-old chad zitzner was arrested yesterday at his home. police say zitner came into contact with the 12-year old victim while teaching for math enrichment, a private summer math camp that employs local teachers in the summer. chad zitzner is also a world history teacher at broadway high school in san jose. he has been placed on leave. ( james ) thanksgiving has arrived early in the south bay... this after a special meal was laid out for those who need it the most. the city of san jose and its community pulled together to feed 200 people. san jose mayor sam liccardo was also present. for some, the holiday meal came with a hot shower and care packages containing blankets and other cold weather gear as well. mayor sam liccardo says more needs to be done to help the homeless.

(anny) and this morning we have some tips that might help you get through security a little faster this morning. first... laptops are allowed on planes but the t-s-a says they must be taken out of your bag and placed in a separate bin as you go through security. you may also be asked to take all other gadgets out of your bag if they are bigger than a cell phone. and if you are traveling with a spare lithium ion battery for your laptop... it must be in your carry-on bag. it cannot be in a checked bag or that bag may not be allowed on the plane and your luggage could get left behind. (anny) and starting today... triple-a is expanding their car sharing service to s-f-o. the service called "gig" will expand to the 'park 'n fly' lot at the airport. this means that those car sharing drivers can park in any of those spaces at the airport without a fee. travelers flying out of s- f-o will also be able to reserve a 'gig' after landing at s-f-o. thanksgiving ... a reminder that bart will be operating on a modified schedule. trains will run on a sunday schedule on tomorrow. they will begin service around 8 a-m and parking will be free the entire day at all stations... service on black friday will be modified for the pittsburg bay point line. riders on that line can expect trains to arrive every 10 to 15 minutes. overnight ... search and rescue efforts are underway after a u-s navy plane crashed in the pacific ocean. the crash happened near okinawa ... off the coast of japan. u-s officials say 11 people were on the plane ... which was on its way to the u-s-s ronald reagan. japanese officials say 8 of them have been found alive and are in good condition. president trump tweeting this morning... saying they are monitoring the situation ... and offering prayers for all involved. ( anny ) happening now... the case against the man accused of killing kate steinle in san francisco is now in the hads of the jury. jose garcia zarate... is charged with murder. but the jury has the option of first degree or second degree murder... as well as involuntary manslaughter. his lawyer says garcia zarate should be found not guilty on all counts since he says the shooting of kate steinle was an accident. he argues that garcia zarate found the

gun and it went off when he picked it up. the prosecutor called the defense's theory fiction and argued that the shots were fired on purpose. ( anny ) in the east bay... five people have been charged with the murder of a high school student lawrence janson in concord. the killing happened earlier this month outside of olympic high school. police also believe the 5 are also connected to another shooting in october. a sixth suspect in the october shooting, a 17-year-old boy, has now also been charged. that suspect does not appear to have been present for the murder of janson. the investigation now shows that all the suspects are associated with the criminal street gang m-s-13. police have added on a gang enhancement charge for all six suspects. member of the hells angels motorcycle club... he is wanted on several charges. he lives in windsor and has a home in healdsburg.... but he may be traveling with a pregnant fiance. several other members of the motorcyle gang were among eleven people indicted in the racketeering case involving murder and witness intimidation. ( james ) the west contra costa county school district may cut resource officers. a vote on a new program came days ábefore a 14-year-old de anza high school student was arrested. that student brought a loaded gun to school. the school district board approved the "positive school climate" policy last week. the goal is re-evaluate student discipline. it's not clear exactly what changes will be made to the s-r-o program. the new policy only states that a school by school assessment must be done by march... so staffing levels can be set. 12 -year old girl. 45-year-old chad zitzner was arrested yesterday at his home. police say zitner came into contact with the 12-year old victim while teaching for math enrichment, a private summer math camp that employs local teachers in the summer. chad zitzner is also a world history teacher at broadway high school in san jose. he has been placed on leave. (anny) new this morning. emeryville police have now set up a kiosk at their headquarters for people to drop off unwanted or expired prescription medications. the kiosk is in the main lobby of the building located at 2449 powell street. it's open from 8 am to 5 pm monday thru friday -- and there is no charge for the service. medications can be dropped off in their original containers or in sealed bags. police are advising people to remove identifying labels on medications before turning them in. following this morning... uber is coming clean about its cover- up of a year-old hacking attack. more than 57- million customers ... as well as drivers personal information .. were all stolen in the hack. the revelation marks the latest stain on uber's reputation. uber's current c-e-o criticized the company's handling of the data theft... but says there is no evidence the stolen information has been misused. names, email addresses, and phone numbers of millions were taken in the heist. the thieves also nabbed the driver's license numbers of 600- thousand uber drivers. and there are reports this morning that uber paid the hackers a 100-thousand dollar ransom to destroy the information. uber has not commented on those reports. (james) for your money... the national park service is giving people more time to weigh in on a proposed fee increase. visitors would be charged 70 dollars per vehicle at the 17 most popular

oakland raiders are making changes to their coaching staff. they have fired defensive coordinator ken norton junior. the team made the announcement yesterday afternoon. head coach jack del rio says he has respect for norton junior--- but he is moving forward and john pagano will now lead the defense. oakland volunteers to help distribute thanksgiving meals to families in need. oakland mayor libby schaaf was among those helping. aquafina contributed 2,000 bottles of water and $10,000 to help provide the supplies and food for the annual thanksgiving dinner which fed roughly 2,000 people. andre iguodala's wife christina was one of the volunteers.
