stabbed outside and then walked into the station around 7:30 last night. a station agent saw the man and he was taken to the hospital. there is no word on his condition. the station was temporarily closed to passengers so crews could clean it. the station is now reopened this morning. (robin)(boxes)in a big story we are following ...a gym owner in martinez has been arrested ... accused of lewd acts with a child. the suspect is benjamin borsellino... kron 4's hermela aregawi has reaction from some people who know the man. a community shocked after the owner of this gym is accused of lewd acts with a child under 14 years old. 41 year old benjamin borsellino neighbors say they're saddened to hear the news.i'm not surprised. it's in the society it has been for a long time, hidden. i think it's good that it's coming to light because more parents need to be aware of what's going on. i think

the most important thing is parents really need to listen to their kids because kids are honest by nature and they will tell you what's happening. we just need to listen as adults to it.borsellino opened the martinez athletic club in 2015 and co-owns it with his wife. according to the gym's website.. they have two sons and is active in events and fundraisers for the boys and girls club and the alhambra high school sports teams. another thing i'll say on the other side because it's so easy to be accused. let's make sure it's a valid accusation. let's make sure it's honest and valid before we say hey this is what this person is. (robin) on the peninsula ... an after- school program aide in san carlos ... is accused of

assaulting young girls who were under his care... two girls came forward saying the man touched them inapropriately.kron 4's justine waldman has reaction from parents -- as well as the school district's response. justine waldman standup "detectives are not done with their investigation. they worry there might be other young victims out there."he had only worked at the after school program for one month, and now 19 year old huang kim tran from san mateo county faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. sot it is very disturbing sot it is disgusting behaviorthe allegations come from when tran was a smart-e after- school aide held at brittan acres elementary.he also had playground supervision duties. in september, the san mateo county sheriff's office tells kroon 4 news a 6 year old girl came forward and said tran touched her inappropriately. the san carlos school district then fired him.as the criminal investigation continued, a 7 year old girl also came forward claiming tran touched

her in an unwanted away. detectives arrested him on monday.the school district says tran passed all fingerprinting and background checks. rick fulton sot it is very unfortunate i think they did the best they could but sometimes things fall through the cracksthe criminal complaint against trans show the disturbing accusation that he touched the victims between their legs to for pleasure. parents are shocked someone they trusted with their kids could be arrested for such conduct.amanda linden sot i am glad the child two of them were able to speak up and that he is no longer at the school in san carlos justine waldman kron 4 news (robin) happening today ... deliberations will resume in the kate steinle murder trial. the jury is still out on whether or not jose garcia zarate will be held resposnisble for the 2015 death of kate steinle. one of the key questions in the case, is whether or not the bullet that killed steinle --- was fired intentionally or not. defense attorneys claim,

zarate fired by accident. (robin)santa rosa police have arrested a husband and wife who they say drove around sonoma county dropping off drugs ... all while their two small children were in the car. this is a photo of the alleged evidence ... 24-hundred dollars in cash and more than two pounds of heroin. police say some was carried by the couple -- the rest found in their petaluma apartment. the suspects are 20-year-old pedro lopez ... and 27- year-old joann guzman. the investigation began when detectives say they learned the couple was part of a large drug trafficking organization. police say they watched the suspects stop at shopping centers in petaluma, rohnert park and santa rosa. it was believed they were selling drugs at the locations ... and on the last stop - officers moved in.the children are now in protective custody. (robin) in the east bay..police are looking for five teens who stole more than 300 dollars worth of packages. it happened in castro

valley on almeda street.the teens were caught on surveillance camera. the homeowners even had a sign saying that the house was protected by surveillance. but it was ánotá a deterrent in this case. (robin)in the south bay ... police have identified the man arrested in connection with shooting at the side of an elementary school. 21-year-old nicholas o'connor was arrested at his home in san jose. he's accused of shooting at book-sin elementary early tuesday morning. two surveillance cameras were shot .... but the school district says the cameras are still working.police continue to investigate a motive. (robin)eleven suspects have been arrested after a violent south bay crime spree. the suspects are young -- one is only eleven years old... the oldest just seventeen.as kron4's dan kerman reports ... police believe the group is behind more than a dozen crimes. the first incident took place friday night just before 11pm near the intersection of communications hill and mullinix way. a woman was

carjacked and beaten. 4 juveniles have been arrested an 11 year old boy and 3 girls ages 13 to 14.then saturday about 440 in the morning just 3 miles away on cherry avenue a driver was carjacked at gunpoint 3 boys and 3 girls ranging in age from 13 to 15 were arrested for this crime. also over the weekend a 17 was arrested for vehicle theftsotthese kids are committing adult crimes and they need to be held accountablesan jose police chief eddie garcia says there's been a huge spike in juvenile arrests over the last year year to date juvenile robbery arrests up almost 70%, burglary arrests up almost 65% and stolen vehicle arrests up over 100% sot eddie garcia/san jose police chief 55-104i haven't seen spikes like these in quite some time and it's kind of startling. so we need to sit down with our county partners to see how we can reduce these numbersof the 11 arrested, most have already

about the alleged sexual misconduct ... by now former 'today show' host matt lauer. since his firing was announced yesterday morning ... multiple women have come forward with shocking stories... reporter randi kaye has been tracking the stunning allegations. "this is 'today' with matt lauer and savannah guthrie" it's what you didn't see on television -- that got "today" show host matt lauer suddenly fired by n-b-c. the disturbing allegations spilling out in the press. c-n-n has not independently confirmed them, but variety magazine is reporting that multiple women accused lauer of sexual harassment.lauer "once gave a colleague a sex toy as a present" variety reports... and included an "explicit note about how he wanted to use it on her."variety also found that lauer allegedly summoned a female employee to his office, then dropped his pants exposing himself. the magazine said he then "reprimanded her

center in the national spotlight. linda garrett works for kantola training solutions in mill valley. a company that produces training videos on sexual misconduct. natsgarrett says that what makes something sexual misconduct or harassment differs from person to person and company to company. she says there are things you should be aware of.sot they key to knowing whether it's going to get you in trouble or not is knowing if your behavior is welcome or unwelcome.attorney gina devito says that while companies are now required to train managers on sexual harassment every two years.they should be required to do more.sotgarrett says the wave of accusations and firings we've seen of late has similarities to some of what we saw in the 1990's. she believes there are keys to

avoid being in a situation where someone could take something you say or do as sexual misconduct or harassment.sot oc: would you say this in front of your grandmother (robin) in the north bay... the death toll in the north bay firestorm... has risen to 44. a man who was badly burned in santa rosa ... has died from his injuries. michael azarian died sunday at the u-c davis medical center

in sacramento. he was an engineer and moved to santa rosa two- years ago for a new job. a friend says he tried to take shelter in a small clearing near his home when the fires broke out on october 8th. the next day he was found with severe burns on more than half of his body. (robin) a santa rosa family is reunited with a beloved family pet ... that they thought had died in the north bay firestorm. 15 year old lea stockham and her family had only minutes to get out of their santa rosa house ... when flames swept through. she tried to grab thomas her pet cat ... but he panicked and ran off. when the family retuned days later ... their house was burned down and they found a dead cat. soon after they had a memorial for thomas. then 45 days later a good samaritan found thomas wandering near a park and had the cat's micro chip analyzed.that led to thomas reuniting with his family.

(robin) happening now ... police are looking for a third person after a home invasion in millbrae. two other people have already been arrested. it happened on the 100 block of arroyo seco. a woman was in the home when three men broke in. she hid in a safe place and called police. when officers arrived the men were in the driveway. they took off with one of them trying to ram his car past two patrol cars. police searched the area and found two of the burglars. the third is still on the loose. (robin) 11 people are without a home this mornign after a fire in san francisco's mission district. the fire broke out on shotwell street around 7:00 last night. at least two different buildings were damaged. the red cross is helping the victims. the cause of the fire is investigation. (robin) another big story this morning.an eighth grade

teacher in san jose claims she is being harassed by her own students ... because she is muslim. as kron4's rob fladeboe reports, that teacher believes the school district is not doing enough to stop the abuse. maimona berta is a special education teacher here at fischer middle school in the alum rock union school district. she has reportedly filed a formal complaint and a grievance against the district. the complaintis said to detail several occasions when she was allegedly the object of derogatory slurs and other anti-muslim hate speech by students. civil rights attorney brittney rezaei says such incidents are on the rise at schools across the country. sotbrittney rezaei/council on american islamic relations in a statement, alum rock district superintendent hilari bauer said that quote "...todays negative political climate at the national level continues to poison classrooms

throughout our nation..' and that..."such incidents represent teachable moments to educate our classrooms on the importance of respecting diversity...."brittney rezaei/caira district spokesman said that it's investigation has concluded and that disciplinary action has been taken although no details were given. in san jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news (robin)(robin)(robin) moving on to the east bay. the oakland unified school district is facing a potential budget shortfall north of 15 million dollars.. if that is the case, the district is looking at broad cuts. oakland officials recently revealed the enormous shortfall and at a board meeting open to the public some parents so furious ... they chanted for cuts only to top administrators. < what is on the chopping

block? schools? no. schools, we are trying to figure it all out. how did this happen? a confluence of issues, not enough money from the state, and lack of accountability we overspent and now need to reign it in. > (robin) the district has 86 schools that serve more than 40 thousand children. it has a meeting next week for input ... and then a final meeting in december ... when the complete list of cuts will be announced. (robin) the oakland city council has approved amendments for regulating and taxing pot. the amendments were proposed by councilwoman rebecca kaplan. she says it is important the council approve the measures because california is about to make pot sales legal in january. oakland is now one of the few cities that will have a license to sell pot once the state law goes into effect. some cities in the state decided to ban pot stores after ongoing debates.

would require 60 votes to pass in the senate. republicans only have a 52 vote majority. (robin) michigan congressman john conyers is facing calls to resign over misconduct allegations. and now other congressional leaders say they want to make lasting changes to protect people from harassment. house speaker paul ryan says congress won't tolerate sexual misconduct by its members any longer. to fight back, the house is adopting new rules. members and staff will be required to attend anti-sexual harassment training. at least three democrats have urged conyers to step down from office. however some democratic leaders remain on the fence. (robin)(boxes) vandals slash a christmas decoration in front of a stanislaus county home. and it was all caught on camera. the singhs love decorating their front lawn for the holidays. but this year ... two suspects spoiled the fun ... by trespassing onto the family's property ... and slashing their nine-foot

(robin@landing) the holiday travel season may get more hectic than usual ...thanks to a pilot problem for american airlines. the carrier reported that a scheduling failure has resulted in thousands of flights without pilots and staff workers. a spokesperson says it will bring in reserve pilots for december and is offering to pay time-and-a-half for regular staffers who pick up extra shifts. the pilot's union ... however ... is urging members not to take on these flights ... as it could violate their contracts. the airline did not say how many holiday trips might be affected by the error ... but it doesn't expect to have to cancel any flights. (robin)take a look at this. this is a menu that was on the titanic ... and it was just sold for more than 118- thousand dollars. the 19-12 menu for the first class was among a rare collection of surviving items from the sunken ship up for bid at an auction house in dallas. the man who bought the menu is an anonymous collector.

auction house officials said that it was the only known menu in existence from that dinner. the first class passengers were served oysters, filet mignon, roast duckling, topped off with pudding and peaches in jelly. ( lydia ) police are looking for five teens who stole more than 300 dollars worth of packages. it happened in castro valley on

almeda street... the teens were caught on surveillacne camera. this video was sent to us by a kron 4 viewer. the homeowners even had a sign saying that the house was protected by surveillance.. but it was ánotá a deterrent in this case.and in hayward... the theft occurred today around 1:00pm in hayward. we were waiting for these packages and were delivered about an 2-3 hours before the theft occurred. yes, these are christmas presents. this happened on kingsford way.

( darya ) in the south bay... an eighth grade teacher in san jose claims she is being harassed by her own students because she is muslim. maimona (may-mona) berta is a special education teacher at fischer middle school in the alum rock union school district. she has filed a complaint against the district claiming that on several occasions she was the subject of derogatory slurs and other anti-muslim hate speech by students. a civil rights attorney we spoke with says these types of incidents are on the rise at schools all across the country.

district is looking at broad cuts. oakland officials recently revealed the shortfall and at a board meeting some parents were so upset ... they are demanding pay cuts for top administrators. < what is on the chopping block? schools? no. schools, we are trying to figure it all out. how did this happen? a confluence of issues, not enough money from the state, and lack of accountability we overspent and now need to reign it in. > ( darya ) the district has 86 schools that serve more than 40 thousand children. a final meeting will be held in december when the complete list of cuts will be announced. ( darya ) new this morning. a group goes looking for a christmas tree in northern california woods and instead find a woman who claimed she had been kidnapped. the woman told police she was from redding and that two people drove her to the woods... took off her clothes and left her. she says she survived by

drinking from puddles. and now police are looking for this man in connection with the kidnapping. his name is fred sanderson. they say he does have a criminal past. a woman has already been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. ( james ) president trump facing an international controversy over something he re-tweeted. the tweets were by a far-right, hate group called "britain first" that account posted three videod depicting muslims committing acts of violence. the president then retweeted those posts. but the associated press fact checked the videos and found that elements of them are misleading and one doesn't even have a muslim in it. local muslims worry the president's actions are inflammatory: ( james ) among those criticizing

( darya ) our top story at 6:30... less than a week after cyber monday and we are already seeing an increase in package thefts all across the bay area.( james ) these videos were sent to us by kron 4 viewers showing a package theft in castro valley. that case involving teenagers. and on the right... we have video showing somebody stealing christmas presents in hayward. police across the bay area are concerned that this problem will get worse as we get closer to the holidays. ( darya ) kron 4's lydia pantazes is live in hayward this morning with a closer look at the video. lydia. ( lydia ) police are looking for five teens who stole more than 300 dollars

worth of packages. it happened in castro valley on almeda street... the teens were caught on surveillacne camera. this video was sent to us by a kron 4 viewer. the homeowners even had a sign saying that the house was protected by surveillance.. but it was ánotá a deterrent in this case.and in hayward... the theft occurred today around 1:00pm in hayward. we were waiting for these packages and were delivered about an 2-3 hours before the theft occurred. yes, these are christmas presents. this happened on kingsford way.

( darya ) in the south bay... an eighth grade teacher in san jose claims she is being harassed by her own students because she is muslim. maimona (may-mona) berta is a special education teacher at fischer middle school in the alum rock union school district. she has filed a complaint against the district claiming that on several occasions she was the subject of derogatory slurs and other anti-muslim hate speech by students. a civil rights attorney we spoke with says these types of incidents are on the rise at schools all across the country.

that disciplinary action has been taken but they would not release any details. ( james ) another big story we are following... the san francisco board of supervisors is scheduled to hold a second vote on marijuana regulations.. earlier this week... the board adopted rules that would allow recreational marijuana sales as soon as january fifth. they also rejected placing restrictions on pot shops near schools and daycares. a second vote is set for tuesday. if it passes -- mayor ed lee would still need to sign off on the regulations. ( james ) and in oakland... the city council has approved amendments for regulating and taxing pot. the amendments were proposed by councilwoman rebecca kaplan. she says it is important the council approve the measures because california is about to make pot sales legal in january. oakland is now one of the few cities that will offer a license to sell pot once the state law goes into effect. some cities in the state decided to ban pot stores all together. ( darya ) the oakland unified school district is facing a potential budget

shortfall of more than 15 million dollars.. now the district is looking at broad cuts. oakland officials recently revealed the shortfall and at a board meeting some parents were so upset ... they are demanding pay cuts for top administrators. < what is on the chopping block? schools? no. schools, we are trying to figure it all out. how did this happen? a confluence of issues, not enough money from the state, and lack of accountability we overspent and now need to reign it in. > ( darya ) the district has 86 schools that serve more than 40 thousand children. a final meeting will be held in december when the complete list of cuts will be announced. ( james ) a man is hospitalized with life- threatening injuries after he was attacked in the potrero hill neighborhood in san francisco. it happened early yesterday morning near 16th street and san bruno avenue. the attacker and the victim had an argument that turned physical...

police are still looking for the attacker this morning. there is no word on the victim's condition. ( darya ) another big story we are following this morning... congress is considering a bill that would require states to recognize conceal carry permits from other states. california senator dianne feinstein joined police leaders on capitol hill to oppose the bill. the bill is backed by the n-r-a and would require states to recognize conceal carry permits from all other states. senator feinstein says the bill is dangerous.

tour next year. this marks the upcoming 100th anniversary of the discovery of the egyptian pharaoh's resting place. the california science center says the exhibit " king tut: treasure of the golden pharaoh" will go on view at the los angeles museum in march for 10 months before heading to europe. once in the u.k king tut will go on a 10-city international tour. the egyptian pharaoh's tomb was discovered in 1922. more than three thousand years after his death.
