been working in the east bay. in morgan hill rob fladeboe kron 4 news (grant) two dogs suspected of fatally mauling a chihuahua in san francisco's crocker amazon neighborhood last month... are now in the custody of san francisco animal control.(catherine) kron4's maureen kelly reports that people in the neighborhood are relieved to hear that the dogs have been captured... this is video taken of the two pit bulls on the loose right after the attack on novemeber 20th. police say the two dogs ran up to a 52 year old woman walking her chihuahua joey.the woman picked up her dog, and then the two pit bulls jumped on her, knocking her to the ground here on the 600 block of brunswick. they then attacked the smaller dog with such ferocity that the woman

was pulled across the pavement as she held on to her dog's leash. the woman's who's son in law took this video to help in their capture says he was shocked by what he saw.it was bad, a lot of blood and knowing the dogs were tearing apart the dogs it was awful. jowie was rushed to the pet hospital where he died. the owner has flyered the neighborhood looking for information on the whereabouts on the two pit bulls and their owner, who was spotted leaving the scene. the operator of the corner market says jowie's owner adopted him three years ago after the death of her husband and is devestated by the loss.she has no one in her life it's that dog was special to her she doesn't have kids it's like her babythe pit bulls were picked up by an animal control officer today after they were alerted that the two dogs have been in custody of the peninsula humane society sinced the day of the attack after someone reported seeing dogs on the loose.that has dog walkers here relieved.that's good to know, i feel bad for the dogs but something must be done.the dogs will be the subject of a vicious and dangerous dog hearing in the coming weeks. police are looking for help identifying their owner. if he or she does not come forward it's likely the animals will be put down. maureen kelly kron4 news

this is leah danielle vega she says she lived at the ghost ship warehouse off and on for a year. vega - a bartender and artist broke down on the stand several times, wepting as she talked about the warehosue and that fatal night. thursday marked the second day of the preliminary examination for defendents max harris and derick almena. the two considered the master tenants of the warehouse are facing 26 counts of involuntary manslaughter for the deaths of those who died in fire back on dec. 2 2016. many of those that died were at the warehouse for a party that night, but other lived at the ghost ship. vega called the warehouse a quote stone hut - that had a hose for water and makeshift toilets she said the showers were more like open stalls you would find at the beach when asked by prosecutor lim - you see here - who was in charge - she said no one - saying quote, it was an artist colony. vega at one point, also became agitated saying quote, "i don't know why we are even doing this." she called defendant harris, a kind and gentle soul and that she was a fan. harris attorney,

proposing a bold move to help relieve bay area traffic congestion. senator dianne feinstein and representative mark de-sown-yay have written a letter to the metropolitan transportation commission... urging them to explore the idea of adding a new bridge across san francisco bay. kron 4's charles clifford has the details. in this letter to the metropolitan transportation commission u.s. representative mark desaulnier and. senator diane feinstein lay out their case for building a new bridge across san francisco bay.they note that "the traffic demands on our streets and transit systems have become intolerable." and conclude that "a new bay crossing would alleviate this traffic through san francisco and the east bay, would better connect the entire bay area, and would

provide significant benefits for toll payers."sotwe agree with the congressman and the senator.randy rentschler is a spokesperson with the mtc. sot we need to build significant infrastructure if we want to support the economy we have here in the bay area.but building a new bridge is no easy task. the mtc studied the idea in 1991, 2002 and then again in 2012. each of these previous studies looked at putting a new bridge across the bay that would connect interstate 380 near sfo to interstate 238 in hayward. over time the cost of such a project has skyrocketed with the 2012 report estimating the bridge and supporting infrastructure would cost over 12 billion dollars it's also unclear where that money would come from or if there's even the political will to attempt such a massive undertaking.sot in this state we have folks who want to repeal basic infrastructure money to repair streets and roads. so getting a consensus to do more is a big challenge.but despite the challenges rentschler says that the need for a new bridge is real and the process has to start somewhere so this letter could be the push that gets the ball rolling.sotthe most important thing is that we have a senator and a congressman who want us to think big and that's a good thing.

as soon as the story of the fatal mauling made the news, that the peninsula humane released the suspected culpruits were in their custody and turned them over othe the san francisco animal care and control. this is video taken of the two pit bulls on the loose right after the attack on novemeber 20th. police say the two dogs ran up to a 52 year old woman walking her chihuahua joey.the woman picked up her dog to protect him, and was attacked. the operator of the corner market witnessed some of the comotion. one dog went after her and when she was down it grabbed the dog by the neck, and he's a small dog he's just this much the pit bulls attacked the smaller dog with such ferocity that the woman was pulled across the pavement as she held on to her dog's leash. she suffered cuts and scrapes, but her dog jowie, was killed. the owner has flyered the neighborhood looking for information on the whereabouts on the two pit bulls and their owner, who is believed to have been spotted leaving the scene. it turns out the pair wandered from the outer mission to nearby daly city and someone reported them loose, which is when they were
