broke into a car on van ness avenue in san francisco. he's now running away but after witnessing the crime i decided to follow from a distance. as he knelt down to look through the stolen bag on the other side of the carsi stopped my recording and dialed 911. this is the car he broke into.a car with tags from arizona. as i made my way through sections of the tenderloin, not once did an officer respond to my 911 call for help. i was only told to stop following. tell that to jerry lehane of san francisco's glass plus and he's not shocked in the slightest. he fixes broken out windows all day, every day and says the problem is intensifying.sot nothing has definitely changed. nothing has changedit's getting worse san francisco police weren't able to talk specifics about my case but did say that in september they added more uniform officers to foot patrols. that goes along with

monday night at the walgreens on south first street in san jose. the man who was shot ... died yesterday in the hospital.the shooter, was a walgreens security guard who is licensed to carry a gun. police say the security guard is cooperating with what is now a homicide investigation. (robin) we have learned a san francisco police officer who took his own life during a traffic stop was under investigation for child sex abuse. antonio cacatian shot himself monday after he was pulled over in richmond at the hill top mall near the j-c penney store.las vegas police say he was under investigation over allegations he molested a child under the age of 14 back in 2014. the 49-year-old was a nine year veteran of the force. (robin) we now know the name of the suspect in connection with a deadly stabbing in fremont. police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old ayah abdallah. she was arraigned in court yesterday ... in connection with the stabbing of 19-year-old yusef

nawabi. the incident happened sunday on fremont boulevard. after further investigation ... police say they discovered the stabbing was preceded by a domestic violence dispute between the suspect and the victim. (robin)happening now ... concerns over airplane laser strikes here in the bay area. there have been at least four aircraft hit by lasers in the last 24-hours.and all it takes ... is a simple laser pointer. when aimed at the plane ... it could blind the pilot ... temporarily or even permanently.pointing lasers at a plane is a felony offense... and perpretrators can face up to two years in prison and a 2- thousand dollar fine. female high school teacher has been arrested ... accused of sexual misconduct with a student. the teacher ... noe-lia li-nares ... worked at south san francisco high school.she's worked in the bilingual department ... and has been placed on administrative leave. police started investigating about a week ago - when they learned of possible inappropriate behavior between linares and a 17-year-old student.police are still working on this case and they are concerned there are more victims out there. they are waiting to see ... before handing the case over to the district attorney for charges. (robin) also yesterday -- a former millbrae middle school teacher ... who pleaded no contest to felony lewd acts with a minor, was sentenced. 41-year-old heather butts... will serve 120 days behind bars... plus three years probation... and she

will be required to register as a sex offender. she was reportedly seen kissing one of her students last year..police say, the 15-year-old told them -- the two were in love. prosecutors say, butts also contacted the student after her arraignment which was against the court's order. (robin) in the south bay. a number of sexual assault accusations are being made against teachers and staff at presentation high school in san jose. the attorneys for the victims families claim to have found cases that involve eight teachers ... and as many as 17 victims. parents say the problem stems from the way that presentation high... handles these accusations. diana leonis says that in 20- 14... the water polo coach sexually abused her daughter when she was just a freshman. leonis says she reported the alleged abuse to the school administration...however.... they did not report the incident to police(sot)

(robin) the f-b-i is asking for help tracking down a bank robber. authorities are calling him the "orange goatee bandit" after he targeted two banks in fremont and millbrae. the suspect is described as a slender white man between the ages of 20 and 30. he's about five feet eight inches tall with an orange mustache and goatee or beard... and tattoos on his right hand. anyone with information about his identity is asked to contact the f- b-i's san francisco office.

vehicle of any kind if you are impaired, whether it's drugs, whether its marijuana, whether it's alcohol chp officer vu williams says all chp officers have now taken an advanced class to identify roadside impairment and will be putting that knowledge to the test with field sobriety tests. sotthese are tests to see if you can follow directions, whether you can multi task, whether your motor skills are impaired or not. things that you use when you drive a vehicle. whether we have a blood test or not is not what we are looking at on the side of the raod, we are looking at those tests and determining if they are impaired and making an arrest based on that. and while arrests may be as straight forward as they were before getting a conviction may be harder. ááásot bill fazio/criminal defense attorney 109-120they can quantify alcohol .08, that's a matter of law the same doesn't apply to any drugs including marijuana so it will be more difficult at least initially. criminial defense attorney bill fazio says the lack of specificity when it comes to marijuana gives defense attorneys more options when in trial.sot

(robin) a federal lawsuit has been filed in the police shooting of an unarmed man in san francisco earlier this month. keita o'neil was shot and killed by a rookie police officer on december 1st ... as he ran from a stolen van. o'neil's mother has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit ... alleging that he was wrongfully shot and killed. the lawsuit claims ... that o'neil jumped from the slow-moving van and ran away ... when an officer needlessly fired his gun. o'neil was shot in the head ... and died. the officer who shot him ... graduated from the police academy ... only four-days

(robin) four teens have been charged with shooting into san ramon homes with a flare gun. it happenend over the weekend. the four arrested ... who are all 15 and 16 years old... are accused of shooting flares into at least seven homes ... as well as multiple cars. the teens are each being charged with three counts of felony arson of an inhabited dwelling... two counts of felony vandalism...and two counts of misdemeanor vandalism with no bail. bridge less then 30 min from 880 to 101. richmond bridge drive less than 20 min from the toll to 101 (robin)in national news ... clean up has begun following monday's deadly train derailment that took three peoples lives and injured more than 100 in washington. some of the cars are being moved to joint base lewis mccord -- where the investigation will continue into what caused the crash. although the n-t-s-b says the cause of the derailment hasn't yet been determined-- it has said the train was traveling at nearly three times the speed limit -- 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. experts say, speed - control technology could have detected the speeding and stopped the train. (robin) a major step in the north bay firestorm recovery process.p-g-e is planning to have power completeley restored to the santa rosa's fire ravaged coffey park neighborhood by the end of this week...we have learned the west side of coffey park has been re- energized.and the east side will come on-line friday. crews have installed temporary overhead powerlines.besides lighting up the streets ... the electricity will also help property owners rebuild. in san francisco is bad. but our own j-r stone actually witnessed a car burglary.( james ) he even followed the suspect into the tenderlion neighborhood. here's what happened next. look closely because the man you see in this video just broke into a car on van ness avenue in san francisco. he's now running away but after witnessing the crime i decided to follow from a distance. as he knelt down to look through the stolen bag on the other side of the carsi stopped my recording and dialed 911. this is the car he broke into.a car with tags from arizona. as i made my way through sections of the tenderloin, not once did an officer respond to my 911 call for help. i was only told to stop following. tell that to jerry lehane of san francisco's glass plus and he's not shocked in the slightest. he fixes broken out windows all day, every day and says the problem is intensifying.sot nothing has

two had a son together. prosecutors say the two men got in a fight... and officer vegas was trying to protect his daughter and grandson when he was shot. they were not hurt. ( darya ) in the south bay... a number of sexual assault accusations are being made against teachers and staff at presentation high school in san jose. the attorneys for families claim to have found cases that involve eight teachers... and as many as 17 victims. parents say the problem stems from the way that presentation high... handles these accusations. one mom says that in 20-14... the water polo coach sexually abused her daughter when she was just a freshman. she says she reported the alleged abuse to the school administration. but they didn't report the incident to ( darya )

presentation high school released a statement... saying the safety and well being of their students is a priority. next year... the school will start a task force to evaluate their policies and the procedures. but the alleged victims say an apology would be a start. ( james ) strong winds are expected in southern california today... as thousands of people under wildfire evacuation orders are wondering if they'll be home for the holidays. the 272- thousand acre thomas fire is 55- percent contained. it's burning in santa barbara and ventura counties. the thomas fire is now the second largest in state history. but the weather conditions expected today... could make it the biggest ever recorded in california. bay firestorm recovery process. p-g-and-e is planning to have power completeley restored to santa rosa's fire ravaged coffey park neighborhood by the end of this week. the west side of coffey park has been re-energized... and the east side will come on-line friday... crews have installed temporary overhead powerlines. besides lighting up the streets... the electricity will also help property owners rebuild. ( darya ) in the santa cruz mountains... caltrans is almost done making repairs to storm ravaged highway 35. a slide took out a 200 foot long stretch of highway back in febuary. that led to a 10 month long closure near saratoga. caltrans released time lapse video of the work... which includes three large retaining walls. one to support the new road bed... one to support the hillside ábelow the new road ... and one to support the hillside áabove. ( lydia )happening right now ... police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened yesterday at eight p-m.the shooting happened tuesday night on san clemente drive in corte madera at around 6 p.m. police received a report from a male caller reporting that his brother was missing, was at risk and had made suicidal threats. the missing brother then returned to his home at an apartment complex on san clemente drive, and allegedly armed with a gun. officers responded to the scene and located the despondent man walking on san clemente drive outside the home. at about 8 p.m. a police officer shot the man. the suicidal man is described as a young adult male, possibly in his early 20s, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were ánotá considered life-threatening. investigators are not saying what led up to the shooting or provide the man's name. san clemente drive is closed in both directions this morning between tamalpais and paradise drives while authorities investigate the shooting. the public is asked to avoid the area. the officer who shot the man will be placed on paid administrative leave. reporting live in corte madera, lydia pantazes kron4

( james ) airport authorities are investigating at least four laser strikes on planes near oakland international airport. they happened monday night. investigators believe the person with the laser pointer was near 98th avenue and interstate 880. all the attacks were on charter or private aircraft... no commercial flights were affected. we spoke with one pilot who was flying that night and he says these laser strikes can be devastating. ( james ) pointing lasers at a plane is a felony offense. anyone who does it could face up to two years in prison and a two- thousand dollar fine.

( james ) the name of the woman wanted for a deadly stabbing in fremont has been released. police have identified the suspect as ayah abdallah. she was arraigned yesterday... for the stabbing of 19-year-old yusef nawabi. it happened sunday on fremont boulevard. authorities a fight led to the stabbing. ( james ) a san francisco police officer who took his own life during a traffic stop ... was under investigation for child sex abuse. antonio cacatian shot himself after he was pulled over at a mall in richmond. las

vegas police say he was under investigation over allegations he molested a child under the age of 14 ... back in 2014. cacatian was a nine year veteran of the force. ( darya ) in the south bay... a suspected shoplifter who was shot by a security guard ... has died. the shooting happened on monday night at the walgreens in san jose. the man who was shot ... died yesterday in the hospital. the security guard does have a license to carry a gun. police say the security guard is cooperating ... with what is now a homicide investigation. ( darya ) three people are arrested after shooting a man near a morgan hill elementary school. the shooting happened yesterday afternoon on calle mazatan avenue. a 62-year-old was shot in his upper torso. the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. ( darya ) a federal lawsuit has been filed in the police shooting of an unarmed man in san francisco.

keita o'neil was shot and killed by a rookie police officer on december 1st ... as he ran from a stolen van. o'neil's mother has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit. the lawsuit claims ... that o'neil jumped from the moving van and ran away ... when the officer fired his gun. o'neil was shot in the head. the officer who shot him ... graduated from the police academy ... only four-days earlier. ( james ) a high school teacher has been arrested in ... accused of sexual misconduct with a student. noelia linares works at south san francisco high school... in its bilingual department. police started the investigation about a week ago when someone claimed she was in a relationship with a 17-year-old student. linares is on administrative leave while police investigate. ( james ) a former millbrae middle school teacher who pleaded no contest to felony lewd acts with a minor ... has been sentenced. heather butts ... will serve 120 days behind bars and 13 years of probation. she'll be required to register as a sex offender. police say ... the 15-year-old told them

(darya) happening today the contra costa county animal services is offering free pet adoptions. they are even offering free home delivery for the first 10 kittens adopted. the promotion includes spay and neuter fees as well as micro chipping and vaccinations. you will have to pay a fee for a pet license. the promotion ends on saturday. the free adoptions are happening at the martinez and pinole adoption centers.

( darya ) the man accused of shooting and killing a richmond police officer in his home... will spend the next 21- years in prison. robert vega shot veteran officer gus vegas at his vallejo home back in february of 2016. vega was an ex-boyfriend of officer vegas's daughter... and the two had a son together. prosecutors say the two men got in a fight... and officer vegas was trying to protect his daughter and grandson when he was shot. they were not hurt. (darya) sexual assault allegations are being made against a number of teachers and staff at presentation high school in san jose. the alleged victims and their attorneys are unhappy with the way the school has been handling these accusations. kron 4's camila bernal has more. former students who attended presentation high school parents and their attorneys are calling on the

administration to apologize for alleged sexual misconduct on campus and change way the school deals with the problem. dina leonis claims that in 2014, the water polo coach sexually abused her daughter when she was a freshman the catholic school. leonis says she reported the alleged abuse to the school administration but they did not report it to police. 15:35 if they had reported it, it would have been stopped but because they didn't it went onleonis say the sexual abuse continued for months.once she learned about it, she said she met with the principal and reported the incident to police herself. 13:16 this failure led directly to multiple sexual assaults being committed upon my daughter causing her to suffer extreme emotional damage which continues 4 years later until this present time the attorneys representing leonis said that for the past 8 weeks, they have been investigating sexual assault accusations at the high school, claiming to have found

in southern california today... as thousands of fire evacuees wonder if they'll be home for the holidays. the 272- thousand acre thomas fire is 55- percent contained. it's burning in santa barbara and ventura counties. the thomas fire is now the second largest in state history. ( james ) a major step in the north bay firestorm recovery process. p-g-and-e is planning to have power completeley restored to santa rosa's fire ravaged coffey park neighborhood by the end of this week. the west side of coffey park has been re-energized... and the east side will come on-line friday... crews have installed temporary overhead powerlines. besides lighting up the streets... the electricity will also help property owners rebuild. (darya) clean up has begun ... following the deadly train derailment that took three people's lives ... and injured more than 100 in washington state. some of the cars are being moved to joint base lewis mccord ... where the investigation will continue

this morning... an important recall to tell you about tonight... audi is recalling more than 52- thousand cars because they can leak fuel and increase the risk of a fire. the models affected are the a-6 and a-7 cars from the 20-12 through 20-14 model years. audi says the fuel lines can weaken and start to leak... which could lead to a fire. no fires or injuries have been reported. dealers will fix the problem for free starting in february. girl in pennsylvania is getting into the holiday spirit, with a new book that she wrote herself. abigail falcaro is a kindergartner in lehigh. her parents say she came up with a story about a bird who helps others feel good about who they are. abigail told the story over and over at bedtime. so her grandma said she should write it and get it published. abigail even brought a copy of the book to share with her classmates.
