(estacio - )pier 39 is a very popular place often extremely crowded and that is the point the fbi says jameson told an agent this san francisco landmark he wanted a large area where he could use explosives and firearms to inflict causalities. (estacio) the fbi says this man everitt aaron jameson of modesto is a terrorist who wanted to attack san francisco, specifically pier 39. for months, the fbi

says they have been tracking his every move including how on the internet he liked and loved terrorists acts, such as when a truck driver killed 8 on a manhattan path in october of this year. following up on those posts. and other pro- terrorism comments on social media sites the fbi's joint terrorism task force began video surveillance of jameson. in court documents, jameson soon met with undercover agents posing as a senior leader in isis. asked how jameson could help isis - jameson said quote, give the word and it shall be done." adding to that, he said something needed to be done something along the lines of new york another reference to the terrorist act in new yor or san bernardino -it was back in 2015 when a mass shooting killed 14 people and injured 22 by a husband and wife terrorist team. jameson told the agent quote "i have been trained in combat and things of war." "jameson stated he needed ammunition, powder, tubing and nails. when asked what kind of weapon he would need, he noted he would prefer

an assault rifle. jameson served in us marines and attended basic training later earning a sharp shooter rifle qualificationas far as pier 39, jameson in another meeting with the agent said there was no need for reconnassiasance because he knew it well and quote jameson said christmas was the perfect day to commit the act and he did not have and did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die." still under surveillance, fbi agents say jameson a tow truck operator went about picking up items to turn into explosives as well as purchased guns and ammunition. he also wrote a statement and recorded a video tape to be released after the attack. but as the days got closer to the targetted event jameson backed away from the plan - saying at the last minute quote i can't do it." yet, he offered this chilling statement quote, we have penetrated and infiltrated your disgusting country. these acts will continue, until the lions of islam will over take you."(estacio) jameson made his first appearance in fedearl court in fresno this afternoon. he is facing a long list of terroism charges if convicted he could fact 20 years in prison. as i mentioned, jameson did serve in the us military a terrorism expert shares insght in how a person who once pledge to defend the us, turns into wanting to harm us citizens.. that is tonight at 6.

(catherine) the near catastrophe last winter at the failing oroville dam spillway focusednew attention on 'other' dams in california... now, as kron four's rob fladeboe reports, cracks have been discovered in the spillways at three south bay dams. rob fladeboe/morgan hill "...i'm here at the aging spillways at anderson dam in morgan hill which has come under new scrutiny as a result of a recently completed study that found some worsening structural problems like cracks in the concrete...."

some of the cracks are quite visible, others not so much. there is no immediate danger, not with the reservoir only a third full right now but the area downstream of the dam is densely populated. the problems with the spillway at anderson are not unlike those that led to the failure of the spillway at the oroville dam back in february, leading to the emergency evacuation of tens of thousands of people in harms way.marty grimes/santa clara valley water district "....because of what happened in oroville dam owners throughout the state are taking a much deeper look at their spillwaysand seeing if we have similar vulnerabilities and it turns out we do have some vulnerabilities that we need to take careof...."(map)it isn't just anderson dam. the concrete spillways at guadalupe dam and calero dam in hillssouth of san jose also have extensive cracks that could some day undermine the bedrock beneath, similar to what happened in oroville. the dams and spillways were designed and built decades ago and require regular maintenance marty grimes "....it's important to recognize that our spillways performed well. they performed well last winter and they arent used all that often but we do have an on going seismic retrofit program happening which is already

(grant) happening now... police are looking for the suspect...who they say sexually assaulted a woman who was jogging in berkeley. and we now have a picture of that suspect. surveillance cameras captured this picture of the man as he fled the area. he is described only as a hispanic male in his 30's. you can see he was wearing a baseball cap and blue pants. the assault happened december 10th near the berkeley bowl grocery store. officers say a woman was jogging around nine a.m.... when they say he attacked and sexually assaulted her on a sidewalk. anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call police. (grant) and police in santa rosa are searching for an attacker after a stabbing in a store. this is a picture of who police are looking for. the incident happened just before 6:30 last night in the corner of dutton and bellevue avenues. police found a 61-year-old man

with stab wounds to the neck when they arrived. they were unable to locate the attacker but surveillance cameras were able to capture a picture of him. police say the victim is suffering from a life-threatening injury. (catherine) in the east bay... at least five buildings have been damaged in a series of fires in antioch... tonight--- firefighters say they believe they were arson. (grant) kron 4's lydia pantazes brings us up to speed on the investigation. (lydia)firefighters believe these fires are suspicious because they all happened at about the same time in the same area.this structure behind me is one of the buildings that burned thursday night.and it's not the first time this has happened here. (take)just before 10 last night, the fire department received reports of a structure fire.while on their way to this fire, firefighters got reports of several more fires all within a few blocks of the same area of a street. there were also three homes on fire and two out buildings in the same area.all structures were "well involved" in flames upon the arrival of firefighters.we talked to a man who owns a cremation and

(where are you flying to? charlotte. what time is your flight? in 30 minutes. think you will make it? we are going to try)the lines were not just at the security check point but also at almost every ticket counter.so travelers were going from one long line only to hop into another even longer line. (catherine) in the south bay.. police have arrested a man accused of trying to meet with an underaged girl in san jose. 33-year-old joe nanez was arrested - after he contacted who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover police officer. he also sent the officer explicit images. when nanez showed up to meet the girl he was met by san jose police officers and arrested. (catherine) san jose police are using the incident to remind parents to talk to their childrenabout social

(grant) in the east bay... a concord teacher is behind bars tongiht...accus ed of having sex with a developmentally disabled student. police say daniel gonzalez... worked at loma vista adult center. officers beleive the 55- year-old suspect had sex with an adult student...who has the intellectual development level of a young teenager...and therefore...is considered a dependent adult. gonzalez has been placed on an administrative leave. it is illegal to have a sexual relationship with a person who is incapable of consent...due to a developmental disability.

(catherine) this comes after more than a thousand people gathered at a sideshow in union city last weekend. it happened in the food max parking lot on industrial parkway. now police say they have information that there could be another sideshow tonight in the same parking lot. (grant) officers are working with the property owner to try to prevent it. extra security officers will be on the scene... and they plan to close off portions of the parking lot. patrol officers will also be

a facebook friend of the suspect started reading some of his posts. everitt aaron jameson first turned up on the fbi's radar a little over three months ago, when an informant, what the bureau calls a confidential human source, reported that the modesto tow truck driver had been praising isis .... and when the terror group posted a facebook image of santa bringing a box of dynamite to times square, he gave it a heart, meaning he loved the idea.the next month he messaged the informant, apparently a woman, begging her to join the cause, which the fbi took to mean isis.on halloween, he messaged that it was a day that non-believers reveled in sin.it was also the day that terrorist drove a truck into a crowd of pedesttrians and bicyclists in new york city.the fbi says jameson rejoiced when he learned the driver's identity, telling the informant, i am glad we muslims are hitting back.by thanksgiving, federal agents were interested enough

to begin surveillance of jameson's home and place of business.ten days ago, an undercover fbi agent known as u=c=e=one began contacting jameson on social media. posing as an isis sympathisizer jameson told him, "call on me when i'm needed."the fbi sent in a second undercover agent, this one claiming to be in direct contact with isis leader abu bakr al=baghdadi.last week, the two had their first meeting.jameson allegedly said he wanted to carry out an attack like the one in new york ... or the deadly san bernardino assault on a government office christmas party.he specifically named pier 39 in san francisco, and asked for help in obtaining weapons and bomb=making materials.last monday, the investigation suffered a near disaster when an agent at fbi headquarters mistakenly called jameson's cell phone.the caller hung up quickly when jameson answered in arabic, but jameson called the number back.the callbackwent to the agent's personal message, but federal agents were taking no more chances.on wednesday, they got a search warrant for his home.there they say they found weapons, explosives and a letter saying in part, "these acts will continue

it appears that her desperate search is over....(grant) kron4's ali reid met with the woman who stepped forward... it's a story you will only see here. it all started with this sign and some hope natsot - i'm excited to go back to normal.a year later, these two women are connected it was absolute certainty i was supposed to do this.i had 50 million blood tests done. and i got the excited phone call all along the way.dorilyn harrison and her kidney doner lori gaines had their final blood work done this week. they're now all clear for the transplant surgery.it's amazing. i couldn't do it without lori, and i have to thank you as well, because i wouldn't be sitting here if it wasn't for the two of you. dorilyn has been living with polycystic kidney disease for almost 3 decades. we shared her story a year ago, after spotting this sign on a car. since then, she's had a number of offers, but no match until now.her life is hard. i mean it's hard you know. every part of her is affected by this so anything i can do to help makes me so excited.lori recognized dorilyn, because not only had they worked at the same

francisco, specifically pier 39. for months, the fbi says they have been tracking his every move including how on the internet he liked and loved terrorists acts, such as when a truck driver killed 8 on a manhattan path in october of this year. the fbi's joint terrorism task force began video surveillance of jameson. in court documents, jameson soon met with undercover agents posing as a senior leader in isis. jameson told the agent quote "i have been trained in combat and things of war." "jameson stated he needed ammunition, powder, tubing and nails. when asked what kind of weapon he would need, he noted he would prefer an assault rifle. jameson served in the us marines and attended basic training later earning a sharp shooter rifle qualificationas far as pier 39, jameson said quote "he had been there before and knew that it was a heavily crowded area and that according to jameson, no reconnnaisance or site survey would benecessary and quote jameson said christmas was the

californians homeless. the thomas fire in southern california is set to become the largest wildfire in state history. it's burned more than 270-thousand acres and destroyed more than a thousand buildings, many of them homes. the thomas fire is now 65- percent contained and all mandatory evacuations have been lifted. it's expected to be fully contained by january seventh. (steve) in national news... president trump has signed the republican tax reform bill into law. president trump put pen to paper on the measure this morning in the white house. the signing came just days after both the house and senate passed the measure. (steve) the president also signed a continuing resolution keeping the u-s government open until january 19th.

the spending measure includes four billion dollars for missile defense. after the signings, the president headed off to his private resort club in florida for his christmas break. when a facebook friend of the suspect started reading some of his posts. here is a closer look. everitt aaron jameson first turned up on the fbi's radar a little over three months ago, when an informant, what the bureau calls a confidential human source, reported that the modesto tow truck driver had been praising isis .... and when the terror group posted a facebook image of santa bringing a box of dynamite to times square, he gave it a heart, meaning he loved the idea.the next month he messaged the informant, apparently a woman, begging her to join the cause, which the fbi took to mean isis.on halloween, he messaged that it was a day that non-believers reveled in sin.it was also the day that terrorist drove a truck into a crowd of pedesttrians and bicyclists in new york city.the fbi says

engineer commented thatthe train might be going too fast. that's according to the national transportation safety board. three people died and more than 100 were injured when the train derailed monday. camera footage recovered at the crash site showed that the engineer applied the brakes shortly before the accident, but he did not appear to use emergency brakes. the train was going 78 miles an hour when it crashed -- in an area with a 30 mile an hour limit. video showed that crew members were not using cell phones or other personal electronic devices at the time.
