(grant) a teenager was stabbed and killed near two schools in san jose...marking the second homicide in the

city in just over 24 hours. police have not made any arrests. in the most recent incident.... a 17-year-old boy was stabbed just before midnight last night. it happened near the corner of e san antonio street and south sunset avenue...that is just blocks from cesar chavez elementary school and lee mathson middle school. police are investigating the motive...and have not yet released any information about the attacker. and on wednesday... a man was shot and killed on van winkle lane.... that incident also happened right near the elementary school -- aptitude community academy. no information has been released about the suspect in that case. (vicki) the f-b-i says they have captured the man known as the "orange goatee bandit." investigators say he targeted two banks in fremont and millbrae earlier this month. he was arrested in colorado... accused of committing similar crimes in that state. the f-b-i says that tips from the public helped them track the man down (grant) the good holiday vibes for two east bay businesses were wiped out... after returning to their

people in an apartment building. four of them --- children. "get out of the way! now!...move, move, move." thursday night - a deadly fire engulfed a bronx apartment complex. fernando batiz says his sister - 53-year-old maria batiz and her 8-month-old granddaughter were among those killed.fernando batiz, new york: "i'm in shock right now. i don't know how to react. i'm just numb."dispatch audio: "people trapped. apartment 13. we're getting a baby in there." dispatch audio: "also apartment six. people trapped." friday morning, officials said the flames started in a first-floor unit, where a three-year-old boy was playing with the burners on a stove. his mother noticed when the boy screamed. commissioner daniel nigro, new york fire department: "she exited her apartment with her 2 yr old and 3 yr old and left the door open. so uh, this fire quickly spread up the stairs. fire travels up the stairway, acted like a chimney."the city fire commissioner reminded all residents that in a fire emergency, closing all doors

(philippe)m.p. singh/nats- "there was an apple desktop, big one here." m-p singh is down five laptops and desktop computers, totaling more than 5-thousand dollars in losses. after discovering his office suite at bishop ranch in san ramon was burglarized in the afternoon on christmas eve. m.p- singh/federal solutions group- "we, we, we feel really

bad about it." singh says the burglar broke through his locked door to get in. singh also says the main door to the building was locked when he left that day. but it's unclear if it was locked when the suspect stopped by. fortunately for singh, his neighbors at pink java next door, who were also burglarized the same day by who they believe is the same man... caught him in the act, through a surveillance camera set-up underneath a desk, which captured the man stealing about 30-thousand dollars worth of electronics and cash.max schlienger/pink java- "seeing the nonchalant way he just strolled in here, picked up all our things and left. it really made me feel kind of sick to my stomach." max schlienger (shh-ling-err) says his company has handed this survaillance video over to police and is confident in the investigation. but having never experienced a burglary of this magnitude... he says pink java is now in the process of improving their security.max schlienger/pink java- "suffice to say that anybody else who tries to rob us, might not have such an easy time." as for singh... he says he and his employees will take home all of the expensive electronic items from the office at the

(grant) new at six. a man is behind bars tonight...accused of armed robbery at a house pary in menlo park it happened christmas eve... at a home on bishop lane. there authorities say 18-year-old hector guzman-alcantar ...entered a party...that he was invited to...and used a handgun to commit a robbery and assault. guzman- alcantar... ran away before deputies arrived. however today... deputies arrested the suspect at his home in san mateo county.

he was booked for robbery and assault with a firearm. he's being held on $260 thousand dollars bail. (grant) in san francisco. a man is recovering tonight...after being beaten unconscious...and having his car stolen. the car- jacking happenend around eight last night on newcomb avenue. there officers say the man was walking to his car...when a person punched him... knocked him out. the suspect took the man's keys...got into his car with another suspect... and crashed near city college of san francisco. the suspects ran from the crash. the victim suffered minor injuries..and will be ok. the suspects however...remain at large. for a man who was seen siphoning gas from a van used to transport children. it happened on christmas day on

(grant) a south carolina woman is behind bars tonight for stealing multiple cars... including a police cruiser. the woman first took her boyfriend's car without permission and crashed it. authorities found the woman, handcuf her and put her in the back seat of their police cruiser. with the officers still outside the car... she wiggles her way out of the handcuffs. the woman then climbs her way into the driver's seat and taks off... narrowly missing two officers. a car chase ensues... reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour. the windshield begins to fog up... but she keeps going. the woman smashes through a barricade and crashes into a tree. she is facing charges including grand larceny and resisting arrest.
