(will) the man accused of driving under the influence and slamming his car into a parked chp s-u-v on the side of 8-80 in hayward ....killing a chp officer has been identified. he is 22-year- old mohammed ali of hayward....' he is facing multiple criminal charges -- including murder. kron4's ali reid has the new details these court documents state, mohammed ali got into an argument with his wife while in manteca, then made a conscious decision to drive to hayward . all while knowing he was impaired by marijuana and alcohol.pkgaccording to officers, mohammed ali admitted he ingested marijuana, and drank alcohol before getting behind the wheel on christmas eve. during the nearly hour long drive from manteca to hayward, records show ali admits he should have pulled over at least 3 times, but decided to

keep driving.drinking and driving is socially unacceptable. smoking marijuana and driving is as unacceptable.witnesses say the 22 year old, seen here in a previous mug shot, was driving recklessly christmas eve swerving through lanes, and eventually onto the shoulder of interstate 880 where the chp s-u-v was parked. according to investigators, preliminary analysis of ali's cadillac indicates he was driving at about 120 mph when he crashed into the c-h-p cruiser. officer andrew camilleri was killed. his partner officer jonathan velasquez was seriously injured.we extend our very deep sympathies to the family of officer camilleri, to his friends and chp family. we also hope for a speedy and full recovery of officer velasquez.in the meantime, ali is facing a number of felony charges including second degree murder and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. he is still being treated for his injuries. however, within the next couple of days, officials say he will be transported to santa rita jail.this is something we need to get out to the public. driving high is not ok. it's like drinking and driving, like any other drug. standupalameda district attorney nancy o'malley says since thanksgiving, hundreds of drivers have been arrested for d-u-i and 6 have died in her county alone.reporting live in castro valley ali reid kron 4 news (will) we have new numbers

from police about the new year's weekend crackdown on drunk and distracted drivers. the c-h-p in santa rosa says its officers made 22 dui arrests. the alameda county sheriff's department says its deputies made 176 arrests. (will) a scary scene at the village at corte madera. an armed robbery outside a shopping mall put the place on lockdown yesterday morning. now police are looking for the suspect. kron4's spencer blake has the details.. it's a town-owned lot across the street from the mall, and it's designated for just such an occasion.a couple employees tell kron four they aren't allowed to talk on camera, but that they were waiting outside for about an hour before the scene was safe and clear. 5 a-m at 98th avenue and sunnyside street on new year's day. a dark colored sedan was speeding on 98th avenue-- hit the female pedestrian-- and fled the scene. she was rushed to the hostpital but she died. police have not released her name at this time. (will)in the north bay ... police are investigating a road rage incident lead to a shooting. officers responded to reports of gun shots monday night in santa rosa. police say the victim was driving on calistoga road and dupont drive when a car stopped behind them. the suspect tailgated the victim for a couple blocks and eventually fired a shot at their car. the victim was not injured in the shooting coming up next on the kron 4 morning news ... right now mountain view police are searching for some thieves that stole an a-t-m. we'll tell you what they said. and here's a live look outside... at the embarcadero.

(will)mountain view police department says that thieves stole an atm from the front lobby of a popular restaurant. now -- investigators are now asking for the public's help in identifying the thieves. kron 4's charles clifford has details. according to the mountain view police department, thieves using a stolen truck from cupertino, broke into the lobby of michaels restaurant here at shoreline park and stole and atm.investigators believe the thieves smashed the front windows of the restaurant with the truck and then removed the atm, which was bolted to the ground. the break in most likely happened late monday evening or early tuesday morning. police found the atm discarded along nearby charleston road. the money had been removed and the atm was burning.sotkatie nelson says these individuals set this atm on fire. i don't know what they were doing in terms of trying to get it open, or possibly remove fingerprints, but they did significant damage to the machine.police

after the tsa discovered an unattended bag. those passengers who had already cleared security were moved to nearby terminal a and sheltered in place there, so they would not have to be re-screened. about a dozen planes sat on the tarmac, either having just landed or awaiting take off. travelers could be seen anxiously checking on their departure times. a few were a bit nervous when the bomb squad showed up but most seemed to be taking the emergency in stride. ( james ) we now know the name of the suspected d-u-i driver... involved in a crash that killed a c-h-p officer on christmas eve. he's mohammed ali of hayward. he's now facing a number of charges... including murder. authorities say ali admitted to using pot and drinking alcohol before getting behind the wheel. while driving from manteca to hayward... ali told officers he should have pulled over... but decided to keep going. a preliminary analysis of ali's car... shows he going around 120 miles per hour when he crashed into the c-h-p cruiser. officer andrew camilleri was killed.

happened. the woman's mother is still in the hospital. she was actually airlifted from outside this iron house elementary school yesterday morning. neighbors i talked with described the ordeal. the lady that lives down the street has been friends with our family for years. she is an older lady. and from what i understand the electric blanket caught on fire and she just jumped up and was on fire so instead of rolling and trying to get it out she wasn't aware of that was in so much pain and..so freaked out by the whole thingthe 87 year old woman caught on fire in this oakley house. happened around four thirty in the morning on new year's day. her daughter tells me on the phone that she heard screamingthen saw her mother running down the hallway with her back on fire. that daughter then ran to help her. she said she doesn't know how the electric blanket caught fire but it did and left her mother with second and third degree burns on her back. the woman says her mother has health issues including alzheimers and doesn't remember how the fire ignited. neighbors i talked with are hoping their friend recovers quickly.god bless her all our prayers go out to herit's not the first story i've heard about electric blankets so my
