(robin) the state of california is pulling ads aimed at -discouraging driving high- after critics say it ápromotedá marijuana use. the majority of the ad featured people talking about -why they use marijuana. it closed with them saying -they never drive while high... and "d-u-i doesn't just mean booze." traffic safety officials are concerned with certain elements of the ad. it's set to be replaced with a different one produced last year that warns smoking pot, can result in charges for d-u-i. vehicles have been cleared off the road...nats car passing evidence of the wreck which took 6 people's lives can still be seen along interstate 5 near road 17 in yolo county. now family and friends are identifying some of the dead. nats car passingthe california highway patrol says a lone driver in a chevy was going south bound in the north lanes about thrity minutes after midnight.several other drivers called it in... and officers were actively trying to find the driver. but unfortunately a dodge with five people inside hit the chevy head on. no one survived.nats car passinginside the dodge was christian paiz and jessica garcia, according to friends. husband and wife cristian lopez-cambron and raquel lopez-valencia were also inside... friends telling fox40 the couple had just married.and lopez-cambron's sister, yaneth lopez, who had just graduated high school... was also killed.friends say the party of 5 had gone to woodland from williams, where they all lived, to eat at denny's.they were on their way home when they were struck and

(robin) the c-h-p is looking into the cause of a fatal accident in the north bay a man is dead after driving his car off highway 101 and crashing into a tree in santa rosa. it happened yesterday afternoon. authorities say the car ran off the road and hit a redwood tree. a 58-year ukiah man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced (robin) now that pot is legal there are serious questions on how a driver is busted for d-u-i involving marijuana. we went out with chp officers to answer that very question. kron 4's ella sogomonia was on the road with chp and has the story. smoking marijuana is now legal in california but highway patrol officers have been on

the look out for drivers under the influence of the drug way before january first of this year.there are a few tell-tale signs they look for to make a stop.(nats) sot: officer charlette brannon, california highway patrol// "impaired driving it can be extremely noticeable or not that noticeable. some indicators are swerving back and forth across the lanes accelerating excessively and then decreasing in speed. fluctuating drastically in speed. maybe making unsafe lane changes swerving back and forth between traffic. could just be speeding those are the main ones."once pulled over an officer will take a closer look for things like a greenish white film on the tongue and of course the obvious smell. sot: officer charlette brannon, california highway patrol// "red bloodshot eyes, maybe their speech, they demeanor sometimes they are a little bit slower. slower reaction time."if an officer has reason to believe you are impaired regardless if it's weed or alcohol they give you the same sobriety test.(nats) it starts with a series of about 20 questions that gauge your consiousness and memory. (nats) then you're asked to follow a pen using your eyes without moving your head.next you're asked to take nine steps heel to toe and turn in a stepped pivot motion to repeat.and finally if you have no injury your balance is put to the test by lifting your choice of foot pointed downward for 30 seconds at most or however

(robin) after wildfires ravaged the north bay....homeowners might want to consider a new option. a construction company in sacramento is building container homes that they claim...are nearly fireproof. from the outside -- they look just like a regular shipping container. but once inside -- the homes can be built to any level of finish. not only can you live in one as small as 160 square feet... but they can also be used in disaster situations. the

(robin) police are looking for four suspects...in connection with a car robbery and shooting in fremont. it happened around two thirty yesterday morning ... at a home on summit drive. officers say two residents of the home .. heard loud noises outside. when they openend the front door...they spotted four people robbing a car in the driveway. when the men tried to stop the robbers...one of the suspects shot them. the suspects ran off. the two victims are being treated for injuries not considered life threatening. (robin) a man was injured in a shooting in oakland. it happened on saturday afternoon on eighth street near market street. police say the man was shot four times. he was taken to the hospital. his condition is unknown ... police say the shooter is still on the loose.

(robin) a man who escaped from a hawaii psychiatric hospital and flew to san jose is awaiting extradition. randall saito is still expected to be sent back to hawaii by the u-s marshal's service. the timing of the flight will not be made public for security reasons. a california judge extended the time that saito can be held in the state to january 29th. saito walked out of the hawaii state hospital in november, took a taxi to the airport, and boarded a plane to san jose. police arrested him in stockton, three days later. (robin) a popular san francisco coffee chain is facing a lawsuit from former employees who say the founder sexually harrassed and assaulted women who worked there. eight women listed in friday's suit were former employees of -four barrel coffee, -who say they were either victims or witnesses. kron four's spencer blake spoke exclusively with one of those witnesses. (pkg)two days after women filed the lawsuit in san francisco superior court friday, this four barrell coffee location on valencia street...was locked up...with this sign on the door - 'we are closed today, taking care of each other.'"we thought maybe it was just for the holidays, but just didn't know."umeko motoyoshi worked for the company for two years starting in 2013.she is listed as a witness in the suit, which alleges founder jeremy tooker did sexually explicit things like grab the breasts of a female co-owner and shake

them in front of other workers. the document also says employees were forced to play a game in which they chose to either kiss or slap tooker at a work function."the ownership group and hr did not respond to employee complaints about that assault and harassment." saturday co-owners jodi geren and tal mor released a statement, saying though they take the suit seriously and are saddened by it, they take issue with the claims being made in it.they also said they will take prompt action to address any and all employee concerns."the complaint is not just against jeremey tooker. the complaint is against four barrel coffee."motoyoshi says she takes issue with the entire environment of the workplace."there was this pattern of releasing multiple items of merchandise that used women's bodies and breasts." geren and mor call that a mischaracterization of the current culture.they also point out that tooker withdrew as c-e-o of the company back in november, before the suit was filed.motoyoshi says the response from the community

(robin) a traffic stop in the east bay lead to police taking loaded guns from teenagers. here are the guns richmond police say they recovered. it includes two loaded pistols. an officer followed the car and saw the people inside throw guns and magazines out the window. after several minutes the driver did stop. all 4 people inside were detained. the suspects were all minors and they were booked at juvenile hall. (robin) a sacramento man is behind bars after human remains were found in his backyard. michael sager was arrested last friday. authorities say construction workers reported finding what they believed was human remains in a shallow grave. authorities say sager and the

victim both lived in the home back in 20-15. investigators believe the two got into an argument... leading to sager stabbing and killing the victim. no missing person's report was ever filed. (robin) happening today... three sides are now fighting over the estate and the body of cult leader charles manson. an l-a judge will begin to sort out at least two conflicting wills and claims to his estate by a purported son... grandson and pen pal. those involved could cash in on songs manson wrote that were used by the beach boys and guns n' roses. manson orchestrated the 1969 killings of pregnant actress sharon tate and eight others. manson died in november. he was 83 years old. of stealing a sacramento police patrol car over the weekend. reporter leticia ordaz has more. chris marzan says it's a night he will never forget after seeing a car driving out of control near stockton boulevard in south sacramento. chris marzan/witness:"i noticed it was a sacramento police vehicle. as i passed, he makes a u-turn so in my mind i'm like great i am going to get pulled over."marzan, a former security guard, didn't get get pulled over.instead, he witnessed the patrol car crash.chris marzan/witness: "looking into my rear view mirror, i noticed that the vehicle continued swerving side to side and eventually crashed into a side parking lot."that's when he realized the person driving the patrol car was not in uniform.chris marzan/witness:"i then saw an individual -- a male -- get out of the vehicle wearing gray sweats, black shirt. and i'm like he is definitely not an officer. he gets back into the patrol car, so as a double back..."marzan says he dialed 9-1-1 and proceeded to follow the driver... and record his every move using his new dash cam.chris marzan/witness:"i

looking for four people accused of robbery... and of shooting at the men who tried to stop them. this happened around 2:30 sunday morning... at a home on summit drive in fremont. officers say two people inside the home... heard loud noises outside. when they opened the front door... they saw a group being robbed by four people. when the men tried to stop the robbers... one of the thieves shot at them. the thieves then ran off. the two men who were shot at were not seriously hurt. the four suspects are still on the loose. ( darya ) a traffic stop in the east bay ends with police taking loaded guns from teens. here are the guns police in richmond recovered. they include a couple of magazines and two loaded pistols... one of which was reported stolen. police say an officer patrolling the city's iron triangle... watched a car blow through a stop sign. the officer then followed the car... as the teens inside threw the guns out the window. after

a short chase... the driver did stop. all four teens were taken to juvenile hall. ( will ) california is pulling ads aimed at discouraging driving high... after critics say they actually ápromotedá marijuana use. the ad featured people talking about why they use marijuana. it closed with them saying they never drive while high... and "d-u-i doesn't just mean booze." but traffic officials were worried about certain parts of the ad. it's set to be replaced with a different ad that was produced last year... that warns smoking pot can result in charges for d-u-i. ( will ) there are serious question on áhow a driver is arrested for d-u-i involving marijuana. but there are a few tell-tale signs that officers look for when making a stop... including -- is the driver swerviing or drastically changing their speed? once pulled over... an officer will look for things like a greenish white film on the tongue... and of course the obvious smell.
