i'm here in coffey park - in the heart of one of the burn zones.not much is happening as far as debris removal goes. it's just too wet for most of that work to be happening today. check out the line of dozers, all parked in the rain.there are very few contractors out here today because of all the water.but the city has been using straw wattles that you see lining the front of each property.for the most part those have kept standing water from spilling into the streets. some wattles have moved and blocked storm drains, but i met a coffey park neighbor who was been gently nudging some of those out of the way to get water flowing into the drain again.

to being in a new courtroom, with a new lawyer by his side, the defendant also gave a new name. he was called juan lopez sanchez after he was arrested for the murder of kate steinle back in 2015.at the start of the trial we were told he was really 45 year old jose garcia zarate.now today he gave the name juan jose dominguez-de la parra and said he's 54 year old.his new attorney tony serra says that was the name he was using when he was convicted for illegal entry in texas. .but serra will continue to refer to his client as garcia zarate. the five time deportee was wearing the red uniform from alameda county jail,, where he'll be held without bail since he's now also wanted for allegedly violating the conditions of his supervised release from that texas charge. the asst us attorney says he didn't check in with authorities within 72 hours of being let go by the san francisco sherrif department a new months before steinle's killing. after court serra speculated on why that was. this guy living in the street hardly speaks any english, who has some issues in terms of

flash flood watches have been posted across most of the north bay. the areas that experienced fires are of biggest concern. more heavy rain is expected thoughout the night and could lead to rapid rises in small stream and creeks leading to flash flooding. mudslides area also a major concern in the burn area especially. debris flows are also a possibility. gusty winds will accompany the storm this evening. gusts of 50 mph or higher are also possible near the coast and over the mountains. downed trees and power lines are likely during this storm. as the storm moves through there is also a chance of thunderstorms. heavy rain will turn to showers late tonight. over 2 inches of rain has already fallen in some locations and we could see another 2 inches tonight. you can see the area of low pressure off the coast. it will come ashore near big sur so the heaviest rain will move further south locally into the santa cruz mountains. showers will tuesday but be partly cloudy but dry returns on dry and warmer then expected weekend. more rain could return early next week.
