wellness center in pacifica.... it's on manor drive near esplanade avenue...spencer blake has the story. it was just minutes into december 26th when this man broke into the back of west manor wellness, a marijuana dispensary in pacifica."we were taken advantage of on christmas. we were pretty vulnerable."these jars sometimes hold more than a pound of cannabis, and the robber in this case took a dozen or more jars."they took a lot of partial units of exotic strains."owner karina cardenaz says the robbery is pretty atypical in pacifica. but with the demand for pot growing, she wonders if someone wanting árecreational pot was angry that her dispensary is still only licensed to carry medical marijuana."as grassroots as we are, we are trying to come up to code with all of our regulations."the new regulations she's referring to are not only the licensing process for a legal recreational pot shop...but also pacifica ordinances that call for new requirements for dispensaries.for example, they must have video surveillance, which this shop does, and they must turn that surveillance over to the police upon

request, which they did in this robbery case."yes we are putting our security on top priority."cardenaz doesn't mind the regulations, because she says they ultimately protect her as a dispensary operator.spencer blake kron 4 news ( marty ) happening now -- police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman in walnut creek. this happened on thursday evening around 5:30 p-m on iron horse trail near newell avenue and south broadway. police say the woman was walking on the trail when a man came up behind and assaulted her. investigators say... based on the man's actions and comments... that he áintended to sexually assault or physically harm the victim. but suddenly he ran away. the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. police say the suspect should be considered armed and

( marty ) san francisco police have a new lead in the killing of trangender activist anthony "bubbles" torres. they are looking for san francisco resident -- hieu trung nguyen. bail has already been set at 15- million dollars. the suspect is about 6-feet tall, 190 pounds. police consider him armed and dangerous. bubbles was well known in the san francisco l-g-b-t community ... he was an artist ... d-j ... and activist. he was killed on september 9th near larkin and myrtle streets. police would ike to hear from you if you have information on where the suspect may be, or have any other information on the case. ( marty ) an unsolicited murder confession....what a man says drove him to admit his guilt to a tv reporter.... this morning ... you may want to check your freezer.there is a nationwide recall for some ice-cream bars from safeway. fieldbrook foods says, it voluntarily recalled its orange cream and chocolate- coated vanilla ice cream bars ... because they may have listeria contamination. listeria is a bacteria that could cause serious illness in pregnant women and people with impaired immune systems. the affected products were sold nationwide ... to stores such as safeway and kroger. the f-d-a says, no illnesses have been reported. if you bought these ice cream bars you can return them for a full refund. for more information on this recall .. log onto kron four dot com. this morning ... rescue crews are racing against time to find people who vanished... after a massive mudslide hit southern california this week. digging through knee- deep mud with cadaver dogs... crews are still looking for at least five people. the death toll climbed to 18. highway 101 in santa barbara county ... is currently covered with debris from mudslides ... it will remain closed until further notice. ( marty )(áááboxesááá)speaking of those search efforts. earlier this week ... firefighters say the cries of a toddler helped them dig him out of the mud in montecito.

randy paige has the story. natsot: helicopterit is an all-out search for survivors from the air and on the ground as firefighters go door-to- door and cover inch by muddy inch, hoping to find some signs of life on this lifeless landscape.search dog handlers we spoke to said they hadn't had any luck today, but they have plenty of more ground to cover.it will soon be that pivotal moment, when the search for survivors turns into a recovery effort, but these firefighters aren't ready to give up yet.natsot: "there was a person with a flashlight over there calling for help."santa barbara county fire captain paramedic bryan fernandez was on this spot a few minutes after the wall of mud and debris came though here early tuesday morning. capt. bryan fernandez, santa barbara co. fire dept.:"one of the other captains 'i hear something', so we all stopped and we heard crying."captain fernandez says they realized the crying was coming from the ground directly beneath them, so they started digging.capt. bryan fernandez, santa barbara co. fire dept.:"when we got down a couple of feet i put my hand on the baby's leg i

devastation .... caused by the "thomas fire". it broke out on december 4th in ventura county -- spreading to santa barbara county... destroying thousands of structures on its way to becoming the largest wildfire in california history. ( marty ) the man charged with the vehicular homicide of a c-h-p officer on christmas eve has been booked into the santa rita jail in dublin. 22-year old mohammed ali is being held without bail. his arraignment is scheduled for tuesday morning in alameda county superior court. he's charged with the killing of 33-year old andrew camilleri -- after rear ending the officer's parked patrol car on interstate 8-80 in hayward. officer jonathan velasquez was also injured in the crash. authorities say ali was under the influnce of marijuana and alochol at the time. ( marty ) we are learning more about a petaluma man accused of helping his wife commit suicide. this is a photo of the suspect -- david clement... investigators

say he reported his wife áhanged herselfá from a tree wednesday morning -- near highway one in bodega bay. authorities say debra bales attempted suicide multiple times over three days with her husband's help. bales apparently had just come off of opoid medication. clement has been charged with attempted ( marty ) signs have been posted at two dog parks in the east bay warning that some cases of a bacterial infection have been reported. union city's drigon dog park and fremont's central park dog park have been linked to the infection. the owners of this 7 month old mcnab mix named shay say their dog was diagnosed and believe she picked it up while playing at the union

it. the pre- law student is still in ice custody near the mexican border... after he was stopped by agents following his visit with family over winter break. we spoke with the young man over the phone. kron 4's ella sogomonian has the latest (nat:"luis?")20 year old luis mora makes his daily phone call to his immigration attorney with the east bay community law center. after 2 weeks he remains in custody in a prison near san diego.sot: luis angel mora villota, speaking from otay mesa prison// "the yard is bigger and there are more showers but in my opinion they're less private"his attorney says mora was detained by customs and border protection officers near a checkpoint 30 miles from the border when he made a wrong turn after visiting family in mexico with his girlfriend.the uc berkeley pre- law student was arrested for overstaying a visa he got when he was about 12 years old. his parents have since moved back to mexico while mora continued his education. mora's attorney says it's unusual for an undocumented immigrant with no criminal history to be detained this long and points to a more aggressive approach by immigration agents under the trump administration.sot:

( marty ) the man charged with the vehicular homicide of a c-h-p officer on christmas eve has been booked into the santa rita jail in dublin. 22-year old mohammed ali is being held without bail. his arraignment is scheduled for tuesday morning in alameda county superior court. he's charged with the killing of 33-year old andrew camilleri -- after rear ending the officer's parked patrol car on interstate 8-80 in hayward. officer jonathan velasquez was also injured in the crash. authorities say ali was under the influnce of marijuana and alochol at the time. ( marty )in a big story we are following. a bay area marijuana dispensary has been hit by a thief...the burglary happened on christmas.. but police are just now releasing the details. it happened at the west manor wellness center in pacifica.... it's on manor drive near esplanade avenue...spencer blake has the story. it was just minutes into december 26th when this man broke into the back of west manor wellness, a marijuana dispensary in pacifica."we were taken advantage of on christmas. we were pretty vulnerable."these jars sometimes hold more than a pound of cannabis, and the robber in this case took a dozen or more jars."they took a lot of partial units of exotic strains."owner karina cardenaz says the robbery is

pretty atypical in pacifica. but with the demand for pot growing, she wonders if someone wanting árecreational pot was angry that her dispensary is still only licensed to carry medical marijuana."as grassroots as we are, we are trying to come up to code with all of our regulations."the new regulations she's referring to are not only the licensing process for a legal recreational pot shop...but also pacifica ordinances that call for new requirements for dispensaries.for example, they must have video surveillance, which this shop does, and they must turn that surveillance over to the police upon request, which they did in this robbery case."yes we are putting our security on top priority."cardenaz doesn't mind the regulations, because she says they ultimately protect her as a dispensary operator.spencer blake kron 4 news ( marty ) happening now -- police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman in walnut creek.

this happened on thursday evening around 5:30 p-m on iron horse trail near newell avenue and south broadway. police say the woman was walking on the trail when a man came up behind and assaulted her. investigators say... based on the man's actions and comments... that he áintended to sexually assault or physically harm the victim. but suddenly he ran away. the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. police say the suspect should be considered armed and ( marty ) san francisco police have a new lead in the killing of trangender activist anthony "bubbles" torres. they are looking for san francisco resident -- hieu trung nguyen. bail has already been set at 15- million dollars. the suspect is about 6-feet tall, 190 pounds. police consider him armed and dangerous. bubbles was well known in the san francisco l-g-b-t community ... he was an artist ... d-j ... and activist. he was killed on september 9th near larkin and myrtle streets. police would ike to hear from you if you have information on

camilleri -- after rear ending the officer's parked patrol car on interstate 8-80 in hayward. officer jonathan velasquez was also injured in the crash. authorities say ali was under the influnce of marijuana and alochol at the time. ( marty ) signs have been posted at two dog parks in the east bay warning that some cases of a bacterial infection have been reported. union city's drigon dog park and fremont's central park dog park have been linked to the infection. the owners of this 7 month old mcnab mix named shay say their dog was diagnosed and believe she picked it up while playing at the union city dog park.
