( robin ) a crash involving a stolen truck kills a 4-year-old girl in antioch. the crash happened yesterday afternoon right off highway 4... near the somersville town center shopping mall. the contra costa sheriff's department says a white ford pick up was reported stolen yesterday morning. when a deputy spotted the truck... he followed the driver. and that's when the driver -- noe saucedo -- exited the

freeway... trying to shake the deputy. deputies say saucedo then ran a red light. a witness describes what happened next. ( robin ) a two-year-year child and a woman were also seriously injured in this crash. they were in the same truck as the 4-year-old girl. deputies arrested saucedo. he's now facing a number of charges... including murder. ( robin ) happening now... police in belmont are looking for three people after a 19-year-old was shot late yesterday afternoon. it happened on the 16-hundred block of chula vista drive. police say the victim was standing outside his home when he was shot by three people driving by in a car. the victim was taken to the hospital there is no word on his condition this morning. ( robin ) and new this morning... police in fremont are investigating an armed robbery and home invasion in fremont. it happened early yesterday morning on montrose avenue.

police found an illegal marijuana grow at the house. two women were in the home at the time of the robbery and one suffered minor injuries. two thieves broke into the home. one of them had a gun the other had a baseball bat. both of them got away. but police did find between 300 and 400 marijuana plants in the house. ( robin ) there are growing concerns this morning here in the bay area over a new report that federal agents are preparing a major immigration sweep... one that could effect more than 15- hundred people here in the bay area. kron 4's j-r stone has the latest. this is archive video showing ice agents involved in an immigration sweep. right now there are fears that this will be the scene at neighborhoods across the bay area. a report out says that ice agents are preparing. sot california is being targeted because it is trying to protect all of it's community members.federal agents recently raided seven

eleven stores across the country. 21 individuals were taken into custody here in the bay area. a report out says the upcoming immigration sweep will target more than 15- hundred people in northern california. lawyers i talked with say you need to know your rights. sotsotsotagents usually have civil ice warrants, not judicial warrants which they need to enter your home. judicial warrants are rare and that's why it's recommended that you not open your door to ice agents.sotas for work situationsa as for work situationsa new state law

restricts business owners from both handing over their workers and voluntarily giving ice agents informtion. ( robin ) happening today... state attorney general xavier becerra will react to reports of potential ice raids in northern california. he's expected to remind employers of what their rights are under california law. federal agents recently raided 7-11 stores across the country. 21 people were taken into custody here in the bay area. ( robin ) an undocumented u-c berkeley student... arrested at a border checkpoint... is now a free man. luis mora was released from a detention center yesterday. mora's attorney posted this photo on twitter. mora was taken into custody last month at a checkpoint near san diego. he has been living in the u-s illegally after overstaying a visa he got when he was 12-years-old but for mora... california is home.

( robin ) mora was locked up for three weeks. he now plans to go back to berkeley on sunday to start classes. ( robin ) c-h-p believes someone is targeting tech buses on interstate 280. in just one day...five commuter buses had their windows smashed. the incidents happened tuesday on 280 between highway 84 near woodside and highway 85 in cupertino. the buses had their windows shattered by an unknown object. four of the buses were transporting apple employees and the other google workers. no one was hurt... but police are taking the situations very seriously.

( robin ) police are investigating two shootings in napa ... that caused a school to go on lockdown. we first broke this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. the first shooting happened just before 8:30 yesterday morning in a starbucks parking lot on lincoln avenue. that's across the street from napa high school. the second shooting happened around 10-am about four miles away... on baywood lane. kron 4's terisa estacio explains how the shootings are connected. the his shirt open i coleman. i tore his shirt open i ran over to the car, his wife was asking for a description of the perpetrator, he was in pain, from being shot.wendell coleman talking about the frightening moments this morning when his neighbor drove himself home with a gunshot wound.capt. patrick manzer, napa pd. the second victim as acutally sitting in his car when he got shot. captain manzer explains the violence in all started in the morning here at this starbucks on jefferson street. capt. patrick manzer. it sounds like from what we have heard is that there was a conversation between two male parties in the parking lot, and as the conversation somehow got out of hand, someone saw the victim slump down and backing away.police rushed to the scene and an ambulance took the 19 year old victim to the hospital where he is in critical conditon and undergoing surgery. napa high, just across the street locked down as detectives searched for the gunman. but

then around 10am, a report of another shooting several miles away. capt. mazer. the second victim observed suspicious activity in his neighborhood. by being a good responsible neighbor who stopped to see what someone was doing, as a result he got shot.captain manzer says they believe the sutherland resident was shot by the same suspect as the starbucks shooting. that there is no connection to the two victims. now the sutherland resident is also in the hospital and in critical conditons.captain manzer adds, they do motive for the adds that its been more since there has shooting in city. in napa, te (robin) coming up on the kron 4 morning news ... a young girl falls under a train and survives. now her mother has a warning for other parents. ( robin ) happening now... berkeley police are searching for the person who opened fire from inside a car ... shooting and injuring a man in the car next to them. police say a woman was driving south on west frontage road with her boyfriend in the passenger seat. the couple was at a stop sign, when a car pulled up to next to them and somebody in that car started shooting. the man was shot in the leg. he is expected to be okay. ( robin ) in the north bay... a young girl falls under a train and survives. it happened in petaluma. now her mother has a warning for other parents. kron 4's charles clifford has the details.

well, it's a family's worst nightmare. one moment your walking with your child, everything is fine and the next they are under a train in mortal danger.last week, melissa strange and her family including her 5 year old daughter were returning home to petaluma on a smart train. when the train stopped at the downtown station, the doors opened and the family stepped out. melissa was following her family. when the young girl exited she apparently turned and walked along the yellow line parallel to the train car. in the blink of an eye, she slipped between the train and the platform. . falling to the tracks below. melissa didn't see it happen.sotbefore i even got off the train, i heard banging and pounding on the train. then i heard another passenger says someone had fallen. then i heard my daughter scream.fortuantly, the train was at a complete stop. another passenger saw what happened and pulled the emergency stop lever on the train. the conducter was also standing on the platfrom nearby, he climbed on underneath the train and

pullled the young girl to safety. she was shaken but unharmed. sotshe was shocked and didn't really know what had happened.melissa blames herself but is worried this could happen to someone else. sotif i could go back in time i would her hand and never let go. but at the same time she's an independant little girl and the potential for it to happen to someone else is the most worrysome of all it's an easy accident.following the accident, smart added additional red lines and warnings along the platform reminding people to stand clear of the train. they are also making loudspeaker annoucments asking passengers to watch their step as they enter and extit the train. they also told kron 4 in a statement that " we are continuing to remind people to stay behind the yellow safety strip before boarding and while existing the train, and to remind parents traveling with young children to hold their child's hand, and stay with them when boarding and exiting the train, just as they would when crossing a busy street.melissa says she's not sure if more can be done to make the trains safer, but she does want to remind partents to be aware of the danger.sotjust be carefull, pay attention and hold their hands.finally, smart train management tells that they are conducting an outreach campaign to educate passengers on exiting and entering the trains safely.

they also say they beleive the trains and platforms meet state and federal safety standards but are conducting an investigation into this incident to see if there's anything they can do to improve safety.in petaluma, charles clifford kron 4 news. ( robin ) a warning in the east bay... someone is targeting elderly victims in a phone scam. in walnut creek... a woman who lives in the rossmoor community says someone called her saying they were from the san ramon police department. that person then asked for a donation. when the woman said she lived in walnut creek... the caller said the money would go to all police departments. walnut creek police say they do not ask for donations over the phone. ( robin ) the berkeley police department is also warning people of a phone scam. more than a dozen people have been called by somebody claiming to be a police officer. the person threatened to arrest them i they did not pay a fine. this technique is referred to as - caller id spoofing. the department says if you get one of these calls don't pay and call them right away. investigating an alleged drugging of several students on campus at stanford university. the students may have ingested a type of tranquilizer often associated with "date rape" drugs. at least seven students are alleged to have been drugged at a party last friday at the sigma chi fraternity house. the allegation was first reported by an online blog called "fountain hopper".... then by the stanford daily newspaper. one student told us he was suprised to hear something like this happening... all of the students have since recovered from the alleged drugging... stanford's - title 9 office- has started its own investigation- and one is being conducted by police. ( robin ) several schools in the south bay have been burglarized within the last week. a total of seven schools have been targeted. san jose police say the windows at the schools were either broken or a door was pried open to gain access inside. then the schools were ransacked. two of the schools were hit on different days. the last five happening all in the same morning. no arrests have been made. ( robin ) police have arrested a san francisco man for stabbing his own mother to death. his name is islam moustafa the incident happened last friday in the taraval district. police responded to the call and found the 67-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. police are still trying to figure out what motivated the

former cal women's basketball player is suing the u-c board of regents claiming she was sexually assaulted while she was a student athlete. the civil suit, filed in alameda county superior court claims mohamed muqtar (mook-tar) ... sexually assaulted layshia clarendon .... when she was an 18 -year-old freshman back in 2009. muqtar (mook-tar) is the assistant athletic director for student services. according to clarendon... muqtar (mook-tar) invited her back to his apartment and sexually assaulted her in the bathroom. the suit claims negligence on part of the u-c regents, which oversee u-c berkely ( robin ) cal athletics released this statement saying in part... "the university is aware of the complaint,

but has not received a copy of the lawsuit, nor had the benefit of reviewing the allegations. ( robin ) a daly city man has died in police custody. it happened on brunswick street. that is where the man was tazed by officers just before he lost consciousness... kron4's haaziq madyun has the latest. a 34-year-old man died shortly after being tased at close range by daly city police officers, that is according to the spokesperson for the san mateo county district attorney's office who is part of a joint in-custody-death investigation with daly city police.it happened around 11:30pm tuesday on the 900 block of brunswick street in daly city. that is where daly city police officers responded to a disturbance call and found family members struggling with the man. the d.a.'s spokesperson says officers intervened and made a contact deployment with the taser during the course of restraining him. according to daly city police officials the

man was then placed in handcuffs, soon after officers noticed he was no longer responsive, life saving measures were applied at the scene. he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. the san mateo county d.a.'s office says it is unknown at this time what role if any the taser played in this in-custody-death case. the official cause of death with be determined by the san mateo county cororner...in daly city haaziq madyun kron4news ( robin ) new evidence that the bay area housing crunch is spreading to cities which were once considered affordable. and that means... a longer commute does not necessarily mean reasonable rent. kachingpalo alto in the heart of silicon valley holds the crown with the bay area's highest rent .. more than two and a half times the national average.menlo park, san francisco, berkeley and redwood city round out the top ten.among big cities nationwide, only manhattan has higher rents than san francisco.solano county has the lowest rents, though people there still pay more than the average american.

( darya ) and new this morning... police in fremont are investigating an armed robbery and home invasion in fremont. it happened early yesterday morning on montrose avenue. police found an illegal marijuana grow at the house. two women were in the home at the time of the robbery and one suffered minor injuries. two thieves broke into the home. one of them had a gun the other had a baseball bat. both of them got away. but police did find between 300 and 400 marijuana plants in the house. ( darya ) someone is targeting tech buses on interstate 280. in just one day...five different commuter buses had their

bay... a young girl falls under a train and survives. it happened in petaluma.( darya ) now her mother has a warning for other parents. kron 4's charles clifford has the details. well, it's a family's worst nightmare. one moment your walking with your child, everything is fine and the next they are under a train in mortal danger.last week, melissa strange and her family including her 5 year old daughter were returning home to petaluma on a smart train. when the train stopped at the downtown station, the doors opened and the family stepped out. melissa was following her family. when the young girl exited she apparently turned and walked along the yellow line parallel to the train car. in the blink of an eye, she slipped between the train and the platform. . falling to the tracks below. melissa didn't see it happen.sotbefore i even got off the train, i heard banging and pounding on the train. then i heard another passenger says someone had fallen. then i heard my daughter scream.fortuantly, the train was at a complete stop. another passenger saw what happened and pulled the emergency stop lever on the train. the conducter was also

the 34-year-old man died shortly after being tased at close range. it happened tuesday night on brunswick street. that's where daly city police officers responded to a disturbance call and found family members struggling with the man. police say after the man was tased... he was cuffed... and that's when police noticed he was unresponsive. they tried to save his life.. but the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. ( darya ) police have arrested a san francisco man for stabbing his own mother to death. his name is islam moustafa the attack happened in the taraval district. police found the 67-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. police are still trying to figure out what motivated the attack. ( darya ) a w-n-b-a star.. and former cal women's basketball player is suing the u-c board of regents claiming she was sexually assaulted while she was a student athlete. the lawsuit filed in alameda county superior court claims mohamed muqtar (mook-tar) ... sexually assaulted layshia (laysha) clarendon .... when she was an 18 -year-old freshman in 2009.

bay... a fremont police detective was hurt while trying to stop a woman in a stolen car. the incident led to a police chase that ended in a crash. police say a woman driving the stolen car hit a police car. a second woman got out of the car and tried to run away. a fremont detective chased her. then the woman in the car hit the detective. both women were arrested. the detective is in the hospital with moderate injuries. he is expected to be okay. ( darya ) a longer commute does not necessarily mean reasonable rent. the bay area housing crisis has now spread to cities that were once considered affordable. palo alto has the highest rent in the bay area... more than two and a half times the national average. berkeley had the highest rent increase here in 20-17... and is now one of the most expensive places for renters. suisun city, vacaville, fairfield, antioch and vallejo are the last places in the bay area where the average rent is 17-hundred dollars or less. ( james ) we're learning more about a double shooting in napa. this morning... the suspected shooter is in custody. the first shooting happened just before 8-30 yesterday morning on lincoln avenue... in a starbucks parking lot. that's across the street from napa high school. the second shooting happened about four miles away... on baywood lane. police arrested nicholas zazzarino. they say he shot his first victim in the abdomen... and his second victim in the chest. both men were rushed to the hospital. we do not know their conditions. police are trying to figure out a

( darya ) and new this morning... police in fremont are investigating an armed robbery and home invasion in fremont. it happened early yesterday morning on montrose avenue. police found an illegal marijuana grow at the house. two women were in the home at the time of the robbery and one suffered minor injuries. two thieves broke into the home. one of them had a gun the other had a baseball bat. both of them got away. but police did find between 300 and 400 marijuana

( james )(ááá2 shot on camááá) as tech employees head to work this morning on charter buses ...police say someone is targeting those buses on interstate 280 in the south bay ... smashing windows.( darya ) kron4's maureen kelly talked to c-h-p ... who are on patrol trying to catch those responsible. all of the incidents happened yesterday here on 280 between highway 84 near woodside and highway 85 near cupertino. in all the commuter buses had windows shattered by an unknown object...possibly a rock or a pellet gun. in four of the cases the buses were transporting apple employees. the fifth bus involved google workers. some of the incidents happening in the morning, others in the evening. in some instances the buses were travelling northbound, others southbound. no one was hurt in any of the incidents, but the chp are taking this very seriously and are out patroling for whoever is responsible, because this is a

( james ) in the east bay... a correctional deputy is in custody - accused of allowing inmates to fight. joseph bailey is accused of allowing a group of inmates to assault another inmate in a minimum-security area last october. after the attack... bailey was put on administrative leave while the incident was investigated.

( james ) in the north bay... a young girl falls under a train and survives. it happened in petaluma.( darya ) now her mother has a warning for other parents. kron 4's charles clifford has the details. well, it's a family's worst nightmare. one moment your walking with your child, everything is fine and the next they are under a train in mortal danger.last week, melissa strange and her family including her 5 year old daughter were returning home to petaluma on a smart train. when the train stopped at the downtown station, the doors opened and the family stepped out. melissa was following her family. when the young girl exited she apparently turned and walked along the yellow line parallel to the train car. in the blink of an eye, she slipped between the train and the platform. . falling to the tracks below. melissa didn't see it happen.sotbefore i even got off the train, i heard banging and pounding on the train. then i heard another passenger says someone

in police custody. the 34-year-old man died shortly after being tased. it happened tuesday night on brunswick street. that's where daly city police officers responded to a disturbance call and found family members struggling with the man. police say after the man was tased... he was cuffed... and that's when police noticed he was unresponsive. they tried to save his life.. but the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. ( darya ) police have arrested a san francisco man for stabbing his own mother to death. his name is islam moustafa the attack happened in the taraval district. police found the 67-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. police are still trying to figure out what motivated the attack. police are investigating the possible drugging of several students on campus at stanford university. the students may have ingested a type of tranquilizer often associated with "date rape" drugs. kron four's rob fladeboe reports .. first reported by the on line blog "fountain hopper," and then by the stanford daily newspaper, at least seven students are alleged to have been drugged during a party last friday here at the sigma chi fraternity house. the daily reports that at least five members of the sorority pi beta phi and two members of the men's rowing team were drugged, one of whom went to the hospital. the newspaper obtained a memo from the sorority that detailed symptoms consistent with a class of drugs known as "benzodiazepine," used to treat anxiety but often illicitly used as so called date rape drugs. the fountain hopper reported the suspect is

bay... a fremont police detective was hurt while trying to stop a woman in a stolen car. the incident led to a police chase that ended in a crash. police say a woman driving the stolen car hit a police car. a second woman got out of the car and tried to run away. a fremont detective chased her. then the woman in the car hit the detective. both women were arrested. the detective is in the hospital with moderate injuries. he is expected to be okay. ( darya ) a longer commute does not necessarily mean reasonable rent. the bay area housing crisis has now spread to cities that were once considered affordable. palo alto has the highest rent in the bay area... more than two and a half times the national average. berkeley had the highest rent increase here in 20-17... and is now one of the most expensive places for renters. suisun

city, vacaville, fairfield, antioch and vallejo are the last places in the bay area where the average rent is 17-hundred dollars or less. ( darya ) san francisco city officials have approved a stricter parking permit program for the bernal heights neighborhood. it allows only one- permit per person.... and up to two for each household for the 16 blocks of northwest bernal heights. other parts of the city with permit programs... allow up to four- permits per household. some argue that these new restrictions could cause parking to overflow into neighboring streets. there is also the issue of parking for teachers at a nearby elementary school ... as well as employees at a non-profit located in the neighborhood. ( james ) a warning in the east bay... someone is targeting elderly victims in a phone scam. in walnut creek... a woman who lives in the rossmoor community says someone called her saying they were from the san ramon police department. that person then asked for a donation. when the woman said she lived in walnut creek... the caller said the money would go to all police departments. walnut creek police say they do not ask for donations over the phone. ( james ) the berkeley police department is also warning people of a phone scam. more than a dozen people have been called by somebody claiming to be a police officer. the person threatened to arrest them i they did not pay a fine. this technique is referred to as caller id spoofing. the department says if you get one of these calls don't pay and call them right away.
