( robin ) happening now... police in fairfield are looking for this man. zachery rose was last seen on saturday. he was spending the weekend in fairfield with a friend. police say he walked away from his friends home on shorey way but left his personal belongings behind and has not been seen since. rose is 6 foot 1... about 240 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. ( robin ) the d-m-v near the oakland coliseum will stay closed until at least monday because of flooding. d-m-v workers came in to the east oakland location wednesday morning to find the

building flooded. thieves stole copper wire from the heating and a-c units on the roof...which caused the massive flooding. we spoke to a man who lives in sight of that d-m-v, and asked if he heard anything overnight. ( robin ) c-h-p says that theives stole less than 50- dollars worth of copper pipes... causing thousands of dollars worth of damage. ( robin ) in the north bay - this man has been arrested - accused of burglarizing five businesses in fairfield. his name is john scharff in each crime - police say, he used a pellet gun to shoot out a window of the business. detectives identified scharrf... using surveillance video from each of the businesses. police are now trying to determine if scharrf is connected to similar burglaries in west scaramento. ( robin ) in the south bay... the number of flu

cases is on the rise. health officials say the south bay is putting northern california high on the list for flu severity. the bay area ranked number 11 nation wide with the most severe cases of one strain of the flu. ( robin ) a warning about a hepatitis outbreak in monterey. city officials announced the outbreak affecting their homeless population. this comes as santa cruz county announced the end of its hepatitis-a outbreak that began in april of last year. there were 76 cases there... and at least one death. in monterey county... nine people with a history of homelessness have been diagnosed with hepatitis- a since october. ( robin ) more bay area law enforcement agencies are adding text messaging 9-1-1 services. kron4's haaziq madyun shows us an east bay police department that launched the new service.

( robin ) now to a story you will see only on kron 4... a young san jose mother was gunned down.. and police are searching for her killer. kron 4 sat down with the father of elizabeth garcia's children. san jose police say the garcia was being chased by a unknown driver while she was driving in west san jose. she then crashed into a tree. that is when the gunman walked up to the

abuse began in 2010 when he became her clerk. and when he tried to end the agreement... pulido accused him of disciplinary violations that put him in solitary confinement for nine months. ( robin ) a big story we're tracking.. a former san mateo county baseball coach... pleads no contest to molestation and sexual assault charges. 37-year-old julio edgardo ortiz... is facing 50 years in prison when he returns to court for sentencing in march. ortiz was arrested in september 20- 16... after a c-h-p officer spotted him on interstate 280. prosecutors say when that officer checked inside the car... he found ortiz sexually assaulting a teenage boy. ortiz...met the teen when he was coaching baseball at a redwood city elementary school. ( robin ) happening today... we could be on the brink of another government shutdown. the senate has agreed on a budget deal that they will vote on later today. but it is expected to face a tougher fight in the house of representatives. if the bill does not pass the house... the government could shutdown at midnight. senate leaders from both parties agreed on a two-year budget deal on wednesday.sen. mitch mcconnell/r-majority leader"i hope we can build on this bipartisan momentum and make 2018 a year of significant achievement for congress, for our constituents and for the country we all love."the agreement boosts military and non-defense spending as well as add 80- billion dollars for disaster relief.sen. chuck schumer/d- minority leader"doesn't have everything that democrats want, it doesn't have everything that republicans want, but it has a great deal of what the american people want."president trump applauded the budget deal, saying it is "so important for our great military."however

people living in encampments... who have been unable to access certain services. city officials say centers have a proven track record of getting people into stable housing. there are currently five navigation centers throughout san francisco ( robin ) a woman caught sneaking onto planes without a ticket several times... is still behind bars. a chicago judge ruled yesterday that 66-year-old 'serial stowaway' marilyn hartman will remain in jail for now -- because of her history of repeat offenses. she was arrested at o'hare airport last month. and four years ago hartman successfully snuck onto a plane at san jose mineta airport ... and flew to los angeles. she has also tried to get on several flights at san francisco international airport... where she arrested. hartman has been indicted on felony charges ... and is set to appear in court again later this month. ( robin ) san jose police say, they have arrested a minor... for homicide. this is in connection to a deadly shooting that happened early tuesday morning on keyes street. investigators say they tracked down a car seen fleeing the scene. then arrested a 17 -year old boy for the shooting. he was booked into juvenile hall for murder. it is the city's 5-th homicide this year. ( robin ) scientists say there is a 72-percent chance of a 6-point-7 or greater earthquake hitting the bay area in the next 30 years... and the u-s geological survey is urging people to prepare. the agency gave a preview of its hayward scenario a 7-point-0

( robin ) happening now... the marine mammal center is monitoring a sick sea lion. the animal was found in the water near san francisco's aquatic park yesterday afternoon. this is video of the sea lion at the hyde street harbor. the mammal center says the sea lion is also suffering from some injuries-- possibly from a shark bite. the sea lion swam back out into the water-- and a veterinarian is now monitoring the animal to see if it will need to be rescued.
