(grant) and i'm grant lodes. san pablo police are now asking for help in identifying the suspect. the armed man robbed the store on rumrill road last month.. this is actually second recent robbery at that store.. in the other crime... the thieves were also wearing latex gloves.kron4's haaziq madyun madyun spoke to the store owner who no longer feels safe in his own store. take a good look at this surveillance video. it shows a masked man holding a gun robbing the cashier here at la esperanza express store on rumrill blvd in san pablo sot luis romero is the owner of the business. his cashier, daniella speaks very little english. he says she was alone in the store that night, stocking the freezer, when the gunman suddenly apared sot

can anonymously contact the san pablo police department. they would like to hear from you...in san pablo haaziq madyun kron4news (grant) breaking news: jurors have just convicted an undocumented immigrant of killing two california deputies. it's a case that helped fuel the national immigration debate.luis bracamontes was found guilty of shooting a sacramento county sheriff's deputy in 2014, then killing a placer county sheriff's detective hours later. prosecutors are now seeking the death penalty.... after bracamontes repeatedly blurted out in court... that he killed the deputies... and wished he had killed more. defense attorneys argued he is mentally ill and should be spared. bracamontes was found competent to stand trial. (grant) more breaking news: the autopsy results for the gunman behind the mass shooting in las vegas has just been released.. according to the report.... stephen paddock had anti-anxiety drugs

(vicki) happening now in the north bay... police continue to search for the 5th suspect in connection with two home invasion robberies in santa rosa. the sonoma county the sonoma county sheriff's department has identified the suspect as amber hembree, also known as "skittles." officials say she should be considered armed and dangerous... and is a documented "crip" gang member from virginia. she was last seen yesterday morning in vallejo. four other men have been arrested in connection to the home invasion robberies. here are their mug shots. police say they are suspected of two separate robberies in santa rosa... where one man was injured and another was killed. the four suspects are from santa rosa, mississippi, new york, and virginia. says he was followed by a car while walking in petaluma. it happened wednesday morning on mckenzie avenue. the boy noticed an older toyota corolla driving behind him slowly. he said at one point he stopped walking... and the car also stopped. the boy became scared and hid behind a parked car... the suspicious vehicle then drove away. he was unable to give a description of the driver because he said the car had tinted windows. (vicki) a big story we are following tonight... cleanup and repairs are underway after a water main burst in san mateo. it flooded a nearby shool, church, and a half dozen homes yesterday morning. kron4's maureen kelly reports the damage to the schools gymnasium was extensive. natsthe sounds of skill saws nats and suction pumps could be heard inside the st matthew's catholic school gymnasium....instead of bouncing balls and squeaking sneakers.....since yesterday's flooding waterlogged the gym floor so badly it needs to be cut up and taken out.check out this section where the wood

has already been removed. you can see the water still under teh floorboards that needs to be pumped out.it's a heartbreak for many parents here who did a lot of fundraising to make this nearly new gym a reality.the gym is definitely a special building on campus for years ago we worked really hard to get this to happen so it's not that old. it's a beautiful building but the good news is all this happened before the children were on campus everybody safe everybody's ok and we will rebuild the gym and the floor and we should be in good shape in another couple monththe school's director of student affairs says it could two months before it's ready for the students to play on again but other schools are stepping up to help. we have a pretty large athletic program. we are about three weeks away from finishing our basketball season but we've had a lot of offers from other catholic schools other public schools and right now we're trying to put together a plan that will enable all of our children to still finish the basketball seasonthe building was also home to the one kindergarten classroom that was impacted. these little tables are being dried out and moved to an alternate room and will be ready to go on monday when the school reopens.the soggy carpets were stripped away

(grant) happening now in san francisco... police are investigating a suspicious death near union square. it happened wednesday night on post street. police found an unconscious man who died at the scene. the victim -- identified as 31-year-old andrew emmett -- had injuries that were consistent with a homicide. investigators say the evidence led them to petaluma where they detained three people of interest. emmett's exact cause of death is unknown. (grant) police in oakland say they have made an arrest in a deadly shooting. it happened on the 14-hundred block of 74th avenue near the east oakland health center. investigators say around 8

o'clock last night they responded to a call of man who had been shot. paramedics rushed to that scene to help that victim who later died. (vicki) in the east bay... a man is shot and killed by police in antioch... and tonight we are learning his identity. (grant) police say 40-year-old lloyd harris junior was wanted for several crimes. kron 4's lydia pantazes has details on the investigation. (lydia)police say the fugitive was wanted by several agencies and was shot during a pursuit that ended at a busy gas station here in antioch.(take vo)let's take a look at video of the scene.you can see a gun near the suspects car that's parked at the gas station on 4600 block of golf course road. the shooting happened yesterday at 5:15pm.the suspect was wanted by multiple agencies.we do know at least one officer fired his weapon. the suspect died at the hospital. we spoke to police about the shooting.(sot) no officers were injured during the incident. reporting live in antioch, lydia pantazes kron4 news.

lawmakers want to outlaw tackle football leagues until kids reach high school.... (grant) catherine heenan is here with more on the proposed legislation.. (catherine) just days after the super bowl...those lawmakers say that this would help protect young people from long-term brain damage.... they're specifically talking about repeated blows to the head. assembly members kevin mccarty of sacramento and lorena fletcher of san diego want californiato become the first state to ban minors from playing organized tackle football before high school. the legislation - called the "safe football act" - will be considered this spring.. the idea -- delaying the start of high-contact elements of football can only help... california has already taken some measures to protect against concussionsfor young

the internet rallied around last week...after he launched at convicted sexual predator larry nassar. he'll probably get even more attention after this.... randall margraves says he will donate more than 30-thousand dollars to michigan groups that help survivors of sexual assault. margraves became famous for trying to tackle the former usa gymnastics doctor during his trial. an online fundraiser popped up this past week to help margraves with any possible legal expenses... but the father of three says he does not need the money. margraves has not been charged with any crime over his court outburst. his attorney says he's working to ensure that no charges arise from margraves' actions. car... and when they approached it... the driver ran away. people who live in the area were told to shelter in place while police searched for the suspect. the search was called off about 45 minutes later. (grant) a livermore woman is arrested for a deadly crash that killed two young women. 26-year-old lauren davis was arrested today. the crash happened on stanley boulevard in livermore the night before thanksgiving. authorities say davis was driving drunk when she crashed. 16 -year-old violet campbell died at the scene while 25-year-old alexys garcia died a week later from her injuries. (vicki) in the south bay... the san jose police department is warning people about a facebook message circulating... that contains child porn. they say sharing the video... even if it's to try to help identify a victim... is a crime. police say if you receive the message... immediately notify them before deleting it. (grant) in the north bay.... a married couple was arrested on drug charges in santa rosa. detectives found about three pounds of

methamphetamine, approximately 80-thousand in cash, a loaded gun and evidence of drug trafficking in the home. police arrested jose ibarra and his arrested jose ibarra and his wife reveriana torres-cruz on multiple drug charges. the couple shared the home with their three young children. the children were placed in the care of family members while the investigation continues. (grant) police in novato are looking for a package thief caught in surveillance video. you can see a man walk up to the porch... he then grabs a brown envelope... before casually walking away... like nothing happened. this happened february third at a home on alice street. (grant) in the peninsula..... a pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a car in belmont. it happended around six-30 last night on old country road near el camino real. police say the man was hit by a blue toyota corolla and was lying in the middle of road when they arrived. he would later die at the scene. authorities say the driver of the corolla stayed on scene and cooperated with police.

the bay area has long been known for being at the forefront of the environmental movement.(grant) but despite being an epicenter for all things green .... there are only a few places in the bay area where the 'earth conscious' can go to their final resting place .... without negatively impacting the planet.(vicki) kron4's maureen kelly has an in-depth look.... at one mill valley cemetary that is part of this growing movement. nats(sound of walking thru leavesthis man may look like he's taking a hike thru the woods, but he's on his way to bring a bouquet of white roses to his mother's gravesite."hey mama"there's no tombstones here in the green section of

the fernwood cemetary in mill valley...a rock marks the final resting place of spencer's mother.because his mother was a very private person spencer asked that her name and his last name, not be used in this report.he says having an environmentally friendly burial was one of his mother's last requests. literally body to earth, no chemicals no embalming and she wanted to be recycled back into the earth. and she said i don't want to be in a box for all eternityfernwood has been a cemetary since the late 1800's but in 2004 a new earth conscious owner took it over and has devoted a section to bury those who want their final step in life to have as small of a footprint as possible.most of the gravesites are dug by hand....and the bodies that go in them are not emblamed. (bird chrip)there's no lush chemically treated lawn in the green section, which is also a certified wildlife habitat. those who are buried here can choose to go underground in an unfinished pine box, or a wicker casket....or wrapped in a shroud.while they still offer traditional burials here at fernwood, they are finding more customers are interesting in going into the ground in a greener way than wha't been common practice for decades. metal caskets are not biodegradable by any means neither are heavy wooden caskets and all the interiors are not biodegradable, embalming is toxic to the ground so therefore it's not green at all(maureen)while of green burial means going back to the old ways of doing things here at fernwood they've added a modern component. a chip is buried in every grave site that can be detected with this rita right here. it helps identify the person who's buried beneath the earth, it's basically a high tech tombstoneit's their one exception to their rule of no non biogradible items going

under ground in green section, and it's done so visitors can still find the graves sites of their loved ones in casethe boulders marking the gravesite get moved.at first spencer was skeptical to the notion that he first wrote off as new age. but since her mother's burial late last year, he's come to embrace it.i realize it's not new age at all it's old age. and what is new age is coffins chemicals, not being returned back to the whole, it's a terrible word to use but, decomposing process back into the earth and i'm completely sold on the process now so much so i came back a couple weeks later about the lot right next-doorfernwood says plots in their green section start at about 10 grand less than the plots in their traditional cementary area, making green burial not only better for the environment, but also cheaper way to go, maureen kelly kron4 news.

(steve) another big story tonight:jurors have convicted an undocumented immigrant of killing two california deputies. it's a case that helped fuel the national immigration debate.luis bracamontes was found guilty of shooting a sacramento county sheriff's deputy in 2014, then killing a placer county sheriff's detective hours later. prosecutors are now seeking the death penalty.... after bracamontes repeatedly blurted out in court... that he killed the deputies... and wished he had killed more. defense attorneys argued he is mentally ill and should be spared. bracamontes was found competent to stand trial. that high pressure is weakening across the state. an area of low pressure will slide over the top of that ridge tomorrow and help crank up some gusty winds. a wind advisory goes into effect tomorrow morning through midnight in the north bay mountains, delta and carquinez strait. winds could gust there as high as 55 mph. around the rest of the bay area it will be windy at times and much cooler. highs will still be mild in the 50s and 60s at the coast with 60s and low 70s inland. on sunday it will be partly cloudy, breezy and cooler with highs in the 60s. cooling will continue on monday with a few clouds. warmer and dry weather is expected most of next week. lawrence
