( marty ) we now know the name of the man who was involved in a deadly shooting in san

francisco on friday. police say 31-year-old joel armstrong of san francisco shot and killed a 28-year-old man and injured another man after getting into an argument. this happened in the golden gate panhandle neighborhood. after the shooting, police say armstrong car jacked a vehicle. they discovered the car in mission bay, and found armstrong inside a nearby r-v. shots were fired, including by officers, but no one was hurt and armstrong surrendered. he is facing a string of charges including murder, possession of a firearm and car jacking. ( marty ) in the south bay, a man is in the hospital with life threatening stab wounds. police say it happened at 7:30 last night in san jose at a restaurant near story road and mclaughlin avenue. police found a man suffering from at leastone stab wound. the case is still under investigation. ( marty ) it's a heartbreaking story we've been following all week. 19-year-old lizette cuesta was stabbed to death by two friends in livermore on monday. and last night her family

one fremont home. the house is on third street. police were making a welfare check when they looked through a window of the home and saw an unconscious woman and dog. officers also found another body inside the home. police say a gun was found near one of the victims. the cause of death is still being investigated. ( marty ) we now know the name of the man who was involved in a deadly shooting on friday. police say 31- year-old joel armstrong of san francisco shot and killed a 28- year-old man and injured another man after getting into an argument. this happened in the golden gate panhandle neighborhood. after the shooting, police say armstrong car jacked a vehicle. they discovered the car in mission bay, and found armstrong inside a nearby r-v. shots were fired, including by officers, but no one was hurt and armstrong surrendered. he is facing a string of charges including murder, possession of a firearm and car jacking. ( marty ) in the south bay, a man is in the hospital with life threatening stab wounds. police say it happened at

7:30 last night in san jose at a restaurant near story road and mclaughlin avenue. police found a man suffering from at leastone stab wound. the case is still under investigation. (ááácamilaááá) alameda county firefighters are on the scene of a three-alarm blaze this morning at a commercial building in san leandro. at 4:04 a.m., alameda county fire officials announced on social media that crews were on the scene of the blaze at 2995 teagarden st.

( marty ) that was ken mashinchi reporting. the two people accused of stabbing her did not enter pleas in court last week. authorities say the pair friends with lizette cuesta. they all worked at a carl's junior in tracy. =( marty ) quick work by firefighters rescued two people from an apartment fire in antioch. a man and woman were inside the apartment on peppertree way when it caught fire. they

were both taken to the hospital with smoke inhilation. firefighters say they should be ok. investigators say it started on the kitchen stove. ( marty ) in the race for california governor, a big endorsement for lieutenant governor gavin newsom. u-s senator kamala harris is supporting her fellow democrat. newsom and harris have known each other for decades, going back to their days in san francisco politics. his top democratic opponents in the race... are ex-los angeles mayor antonio villaraigosa and state treasurer john chung. the primary is on june 5th. ( marty ) the justice department is appealing a temporary block against the trump administration's new birth control rules. an appeal was filed in a san francisco court on friday. back in december, a federal court blocked the president's move to roll back obamacare's birth control mandate. under the new rules, employers could cite religious or moral objections to deny the coverage. but the judge said, the administration failed to give enough notice before implementing the

we are now less than 24 hours away from the nba all star game. saturday night though was the nba skills competition going on down in los angeles. sharp shooter klay thompson was in the three point contest and made it to the championship round tonight. he was trying to catch devin booker of the phoenix suns who had 28 points in that round. klay won back in the 2015-2016 season. stephen curry won the year before that. klay looked good tonight but not good

(philippe) when it comes to housing in san francisco... demand overwhelmingly outnumbers supply.patrick lam/realtor- "the market is still very hot in san francisco. if you have the opportunity, definitely buy right now." century 21 realtor patrick lam says up to 300 people stop by his open houses on weekends... with bidding wars getting out of control.patrick lam/realtor- "a lot of time the final selling price is typically 20

( marty ) a suspected drug dealer is in jail after police found him with 66 bags of cocaine base and heroin. he was arrested saturday on eddy street near larkin and hyde in the tenderloin. the suspect was already wanted on felony drug charges. he

was booked and arrested on these new drug charges. ( marty ) a rollover crash in brentwood sent a driver to the hospital. the crash happened saturday morning on marsh creek road in brentwood. the crash blocked traffic in both directions for some time. the condition of the driver is unknown this morning. ( marty ) in the east bay... it was an accident that could have ended his life. a suspect rammed officer tom brown's patrol car in the summer of 2016, leaving the walnut creek officer with severe injuries. but he battled back and returned to work full-time on friday. justine waldman was there for his triumphant return to duty. 19 months agon, walking back to his patrol car seemed impossible for walnut creek officer tom brown, n july of 2016, a suspect he was after intentionally drove into his patrol head-on. sot my brain could think he is going to hit me but i didn't have time to move out of the waythe crash crushed his right left. it took 52 staples to close it,

and three surgeries. plus he broke his left hand, nose and two ribs. sot the surgeon told me i might not be able to keep my leg because of the damage officer brown tells me, it's been a long road to recovery. without the help of his fellow officers, the community, friends and family and the titanium bolts in his leg.he would not be standing here today.sot everything was catastrophic the collision my injuries what my family had to endure now back working full-time, he got to put his uniform onmaking him feel whole again.sot this your shoulder patch and your badge id you as an officer felt good to put those on today? yeah it felt great.the suspect who hit officer brown, is now in prison. and the k9 the suspect, stabbed while officers tried to arrest him, also recovered but just retired.officer brown, feels blessed to be back at work, doing the job he loves. in walnut creek justine waldman kron 4 news.

car crashed into a fremont pizza parlor... and may have broken a man's leg. kron four's spencer blake talked with employees at little caesar's who were startled by the sudden crash. store manager junet cunningham was in the back of this little caesar's shop saturday morning when she heard a giant boom, accompanied by shattering glass."we just looked and saw that there was a car inside the store."that car, a silver honda was driven by an elderly man.police say he mistook his

gas pedal for his brake pedal. the car careened right up to the door employees use to go behind the counter - you can still see the damage on the walls and the counter. "the door was stuck, the outer door was stuck, so we cannot see him."one of the owners immediately called her brother and co-owner, chris romero. "the first thing is we wanted to make sure that everyone was okay. there was someone who was injured, but it could have been a lot worse."that man who got hurt was doing outside maintenance at the strip mall, and got pinned under the car. firefighters had to pull him out from underneath it, and he went to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries - possibly a broken leg."have you ever seen anything like this?no, and i hope not anymore!"the driver of the car was uninjured.but the front of the building certainly wasn't. these workers took out all the mangled pieces and closed the gaping hole with plywood... within a few hours.(reporter) even while this plywood was going up...the store had already reopened, and was serving pizza with the sound of power tools roaring in the background.in fremont, spencer blake, kron four news. still ahead ...we

know, you think asia and europe all wrapped into one sounds impossible. that's only because you've never been to macao. like hong kong - which is just 37 miles away - macau, is a special administrative region of china. but thanks to a long history as a portuguese settlement, surprises are everywhere. there's the colorful square in front of the chapel of st. francis xavier. senado square is paved with portuguese cobblestones and surrounded by pastel neoclassical buildings. a short walk away there's the ruins of st paul's in macao's historic center. (st. paul's was established in the late 1500s. the ruins you see today are all that's left after a fire in 1835.) you can have many moments where you're asking yourself,

"where am i?". but it works both ways. just keep moving and views change in an instant. na tcha temple is steps from st paul's. it was built in 1888 and renovated in 1901. two diverse cultures coexisting right next to one another. a-ma temple dates back to the late 1400s and is the oldest temple in macao. take a walk through red market, one of the busiest markets in macao, it's easy to forget about the city's portuguese qualities. macau is the only place in the world with a mix of chinese and portuguese culture. it's only 12 square miles, so not a whole lot bigger than san francisco. macau is the only place in china where casinos are legal. but there's more to it than gambling. macao has

more five-star properties than any other destination in the world. the glitz and glamour factor is huge here. this is what's waiting steps off the lobby at the mgm macao. those massive flowers are swinging seats. the aquarium is more than 25 feet tall and once a day divers put on an underwater show as well. you might feel a bit of that portuguese charm here as well. this space is inspired by lisbon's central train station. the flower power continues at wynn palace. this is wynn palace. continues at power continues at wynn palace. this is carousel contains more

(the cab ride there and back from the cotai strip cost me less than $10.) it's hard to go wrong with a quick visit here. admission into the indoor panda area is done in ticketed intervals. san francisco's annual chinese new year parade will be held on february 24th. ( marty ) and thousands said hello to the year of the dog in sacramento. the lunar flower fest and tet festival attracts more than 30-thousand people each year. they enjoyed traditional performances some tasty food and prepared for the new year. the festivies will continue into next weekend. ( marty ) minnesota's first cat cafe is now open. it's ten dollars an hour to hang out in a room filled with adoptable felines. but if you just want coffee or if you're allergic to cats... the cafe is completely separate from the cat lounge. but you don't have to travel all the way to minnesota to go to a cat cafe. there are cat cafes in san francisco, oakland and san jose. adlib seven day.
