domestic violence incident in san francisco. and tonight-- the san francisco police department is looking for smith. good evening i'm grant lodes. (vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis. s-f-p-d says they want to question smith about what happened over the weekend. kron 4's terisa estacio is live in san francisco tonight... terisa, bring us up to speed on this investigation. .. (estacio - san francisco police headquarters) authorities here at sfpd say they have a lot of questions for the linebacker - as he was last seen, leaving the alleged crime scene in his range rover. (estacio reporting) it was here on the 600 block in san francisco where the call came in - a dispatcher repeating to police that a victim was calling in reporting that her ex- boyfriend, , identified aldon smith - had beat her up and bit her in the wrist listen in: "the victim is calling us saying the suspect threw her around the room and bit her wrist. he climbed out of the window and may have gotten into a black range rover." smith - the dispatcher also says was wearing a black 49er sweatshirt as he darted through the window before taking off in his vehicle. san francisco police launched an investigation they also tried to reach out to smith, but say they were unsuccessful. shortly after the incident

saturday night, smith posted to his social media site, long cryptic reply which included this statement, quote you are all wrong." smith who was dropped by the 49ers in 2015 following a dui conviction - then picked up by the raiders shortly thereafter has had a long history of problems including multiple dui arrests and other domestic violence accusations. early monday morning, after this latest case, the raiders announced they were cutting him. smith had not played due to nfl suspensions due to his legal troubles. (estacio reporting - live) the victim in this case said she was smith's ex-girlfriend. this morning, tmz reported smith's fiance encouraged smith to go into rehab. here in sf, te (vicki) aldon smith has a history of run-ins with police. here are just some of the past incidents. in september of 2013... he was arrested and charged with d-u-i after crashing into a tree in san jose. then in october of that same year... he turned himself in for weapons charges related to an incident in 2012. then in august of 2015 he was sentenced to 20 days in jail after a hit-and-run. then he was investigated in february of 2017 for domestic violence... no charges were filed in that case. then a month later he was detained after a car he was riding in

(vicki) happening now in san police and district officials are taking extra steps to keep kids safe at rooftop elementary school this comes after a person who made threats against the school... was released from jail yesterday. police are not identifying the suspect who made the threats. the do say he was affiliated with the school... but not an employee. parents we spoke to say it's a scary situation but they are happy with how the school is

handling the threats. "we felt good about sending her to school today. she probably couldn't be in a safer place right now with all the extra police presence and security measures. i hope the issue gets resolved soon and we can get back to business as usual here."(vicki) (vicki) access points to the school are being watched closely by police officers. district officials are also offering extra emotional support to students and staff. (grant) last months high school shooting in florida is still creating some fall out here in california.(vicki) a santa clara county supervisor wants to put a stop to the long standing practice of holding gun shows at the county fairgrounds. kron four's rob fladeboe joins us now live with more on the story. rob? is no place for them and even if it's just two shows a year, that's two too many. the marquis here at the santa clara county fairgrounds is currently promoting upcoming shows devoted to toys, cats and beer. but just last month, the fairgrounds hosted a "code of the west" gun show, sponsored by the california rifle and pistol association. such shows have been a fixture here for years. this is video from a similar show held in fairfield where guns are bought and sold in strict compliance with federal, state and local laws. but it's the advertising and promotion of such shows that is driving this latest effort to shut them down in santa clara county. in the wake of the parkland, florida high school massacre, the buying and selling of guns, even though legal, is not consistent with promoting the health and well being of residents says supervisorken yeager.ken yeager/santa clara county supervisor "...in advance of the shows there is a lot of advertising, billboards and placards on telephone poles.

and the morning after the shooting i saw this and i thought that county property is not the place for the promotion if guns so it occurred to me that if we ban the gun shows they wouldn't be able to do all of this promtion and selling at the fairgrounds..."yeagar says his proposed ban would have no impact on the buying and selling of guns at government- sponsored gun by back programs like this one, which have also been conductedat the county fairgrounds. what led to the cold case arrest. a suspect has been arrested and charged in the double murder cold case of 18-year- old michelle xavier and 20- year-old jennifer duey in fremontsot the cold case dates back to feburary 2nd 1986, that is when around 12:30am a motorcyclist noticed the dead bodies of the two victims here mill creek road...fremont detective jacob blass picks it up from there sotaccording to fremont police investigators the duey and xavier attended a family party earlier that evening and were last seen around 8pm at a convienience store on mowry blvd. that is about 6 miles away from where their bodies were found. fremont police located michelle xavier's car in the mission valley shopping center which is closer to the crime scene but what remains a mystery is where, when and how the murder suspect and the two victims cross pathssot

(catherine) the family says the little girl was with her mother and younger brother...shoppingfor new shoes friday night - when the unimaginable happened.. a large mirror mounted on the side of a rack of shoes suddenly came crashing down on 2-year-old ifrah.... she was rushed to the hospital where she later died. police and the family say the heavy mirror was not properly secured... nearby workers at the strip mall say they heard the crash and then the mother screaming.. payless shoe-source said in a statement that it's cooperating with investigators....butthe child's father says that's no consolation. he says the family is devastated. 53-year-old gilberto rodriguez... was found february 13th... in the parking lot of gray whale cove state beach. police say rodriguez had been shot and died at the scene. the beach... is just south of the devil's slide tunnels. ... (vicki) also in the peninsula... part of a large redwood tree falls onto a home... damaging it it happened on baywood avenue in menlo park. officials say the 130-foot tall tree had been struck by lightning last september... but the strong winds from the recent storm caused the tree to fall onto the home. it lodged into a bedroom on the second floor of the home. luckily, nobody was injured. (grant) in the east bay... police are investigating a shooting near interstate 8- 80... near the oakland coliseum. it happened yesterday when a man was walking near the freeway. a good samaritans saw shooting victim... and picked him up. police say a car crash may have been involved... bu the exact location of the shooting is still under investigation. "i heard this sound, sounded like a train, coming through the woods."and i turned around and all of a sudden it just blew up. the snow went probably 100 feet in the air all over the place, you couldn't even see anything." "there was a mist of white and we could feel the pellets on our face"survivors say everything grew eerily quiet, then came the calls for help. daca recipient: "it almost feels like, we're just a game, you know like this is just one big chess game for them." according to a lawsuit filed in new york against the department of homeland security, the march 5th memo would have meant 1400 daca recipients would lose their legal status every working day. but the supreme court stayed out of the dispute, which allowed a federal court ruling, that the memo can not be enforced, to stand while the case goes through the courts. it means daca recipients are left in limbo. amritpal has been the family translator, a second mother to her sister, and an income earner all while attending college and dealing with pain. amritpal/ daca recipient: "like people think just because we're here, we have all these benefits and we're you know the leeching off the government, but it's like we don't have medical, like half of my mouth is like rotting." as a daca recipient she is not eligible for government medical insurance programs or federal financial aid for school.amritpal/ daca recipient: "i'm emotional because some days it feels like our sacrifices aren't enough and our trauma isn't

(vicki) a judge in san francisco is further investigating whether an ingredient in the weed killer "roundup" can cause cancer. this comes after a federal judge blocked the state from requiring the product come with a warning label. today-- a scientist testified that she believes the active ingredient in roundup can in fact cause cancer. the san francisco judge will hear from experts throughout the week to help decide if there is valid evidence to support the claim that roundup can cause cancer. the company that makes the weed killer denies the claims-- saying hundreds of studies have proven it is safe. (grant) aldon smith's high profile run-in's with the law have involved charges of drunk driving...weapons posession, and even an alleged bomb threat at an airport. the 49ers select aldon smith, defensive end, missouri... smith is a surprise draft pick, but it looks like a good one. he has a great first year: 14 sacks as rookie linebacker, the best in the nfl in 2011. the 49ers make their first postseason appearance in a decade... a storybook season falling just short the giants are going to the super bowl smith heads to miami, where he is arrested on suspision of dui. the charge was later reduced to reckless driving five months later: a now infamous party at his home in the san jose hills. police seized three automatic rifles. smith was later charged with possessing illegal assault

three people are injured after a stabbing on a greyhound bus... and it was headed for oakland. the stabbing happened this afternoon near visalia. police say the suspect was restrained by the bus driver and another passenger. a man on the bus says the suspect stabbed a woman who was holding her child. there is not yet word on how severe injuries were. the suspect was arrested. terrifying moments on sunday at nanchang changbei international airport in jiangxi province. heavy winds and a torrential downpour caused part of the airport's roof to collapse. video captured the moment when large pieces of metal came crashing down, hitting vehicles parked outside the entrance of the airport's terminal 2. no one was injured. the terminal's main structure was reportedly unaffected and flights continued as scheduled. the wind speed on sunday exceeded 67 miles per hour.
