kirkwood ski resort. the alpine county sheriff's department says olga perkovic and her son were returning from a day of skiing sunday... when a trailer-sized chunk of snow fell on them. the mother and son were found under 3 feet of snow after a neighbor spotted some ski gloves next to the home. since last week's major snowstorm... 4 people have died at california resorts. ( james ) san francisco police say they're working with aldon smith's attorneys... to get the former raiders linebacker to surrender. smith is accused of assaulting his fiancee. she says smith threw her around a room and bit her wrist. smith was gone by the time police got to the woman's home on bush street. smith is wanted on a number of charges. according to t-m-z... smith checked himself into a rehab facility. the raiders released smith from the team yesterday. ( james ) an east bay bookstore has been the target of an alt-right group for the last several months... and now store owners are saying the

threats are getting violent. the threats include one member saying they will burn down the store. kron 4's ali reid tells us why the store is being targeted. employees from revolution books tell me the store's goal is to share the truth about what's happening in the world. this particular group started targeting the store after milo yiannopolis was set to speak at u-c berkeley last year.and as we know that turned into a riot.pkgwe're gonna burn down your bookstore, just so you know that. (bleep)on saturday, employees at revolution bookstore were met by an angry group of protestors.reiko redmonde / revolution book they call themselves western chauvenists, and they're all trump supportersthis is an outrageous threat. we're not going to stand for it. we're not going to be intimidated or deterred. employees say this is the 10th time these extremists have gotten aggressive in front of their store. but this was the first time there was a threat of

say this woman -- teresa ann andrade madrigal -- was talking to herself and acting strangely after boarding the bus in bakersfield. about an hour after she got on... a witness says madrigal grabbed the child and started hitting her. she then stabbed the mother. two other passengers and the drivers were able to subdue her.(steve) another big story we are following tonight... three people are injured after a stabbing on a greyhound bus... and it was headed for oakland. the stabbing happened this afternoon near visalia in tulare is about 40 of fresno... two women on the bus... three people were stabbed and the suspect was restrained by the bus driver and another passenger. describe what happened...

cullivan is referring to this yacht, which has been moored in aquatic park cove for more than one hundred total days.a permit, which this boat does ánot have, only allows you to drop anchor for five days here. "in the past years, every so often someone will stay longer than the five days but generally once the rangers go out and let them know what's going on and say they should obey the rules, they tend to; they move away."but even after rangers spoke to the man who apparently lives aboard the boat...he basically expressed that he doesn't want to leave. swimmers with south end rowing club are getting annoyed that his yacht is right up against the marked swimming boundary. ( james ) we have new video this morning ... from students who watched a stabbing unfold at a monterey county middle school. this video was uploaded to social media yesterday ... it shows a student at north monterey county middle school wearing a white hoodie and brandishing a kitchen knife. deputies say the 12-year-old student stabbed another 12-year-old classmate in the chest. school officials say the victim is in stable condition this morning. it happened before class yesterday ... and the school was placed on lockdown.the attacker is expected to appear in juvenile court today or tomorrow. legally paint your own crosswalk or red zones in your driveway... but what about installing your own speed bumps? well folks in one peninsula neighborhood ... have officials really scratching their heads... stanley roberts has more on this edition of people behaving badly. i don't think they're really necessary right here because nobody speeds on this street anyway because all of the potholes the street is vallejo terrace between carmel and paloma, in the city of pacifica, someone installed their very own speed bumps there is a set at both ends of the block with black and yellow stripes, they also come with their own signs one reading slow speed bumps and the other slow children and pets at play . now the fact that it reads children and pets that is a clear indication it's not a city sign another indication is in the back the signs are attached with adjustable metal rings oh and a green pole with a barcode definitely not city or county issue the city of

pacifica says they did not install the speed bumps neither did san mateo county public works so who did . i asked neighbors, no one knows however cassidy a student at a nearby high school had a better idea i think that they should move the speed bumps on to paloma instead because i walk to school every morning none of the cars stop éfunny thing about asking neighbors about problem areas, you tend to find out a lot like for instance just down the street there is a stop sign missing at mirador and paloma and according to residents it's been missing for months .. although the word stop is still painted on the street and another thing i like to say is that there is a stop sign right there and no cars stop for that stop sign that sign was put up a couple years ago because cars don't stopbut let's get back to the subject at hand the speed bumps,... there is a issue which may prevent the speed bumps from being removed the reason, according to pacifica public works .. the street might be considered a private street . despite the streets on both sides being city owned, so they are investigating before someone comes and rips up the speed bumps in pacifica, stanley roberts kron 4 news

entered the race for california governor. kron-4 was there yesterday when newsom filed paperwork to get on the june ballot. and he told us what sets him apart from other candidates .... is leadership and standing tall on the issues. ( james ) newsom is considered the front runner in the race. but a poll by the public policy institute of california put him in a tie with former l-a mayor antonio villaraigosa. ( james ) we're getting fresh perspective on that ice crackdown last week that took in 232 undocumented immigrants in northern california. one woman says those raids... cost her business. danny

convicted of killing two california law enforcement officials was in court for sentencing. he appeared in court yesterday. luis bracamontes confessed to killing sacramento county deputy danny oliver -- and placer county sheriff's detective michael davis junior back in 20-14. family members of both officers will speak about their loss... in an effort to seek the death penalty. but the defense is blaming bracamontes' rough upbringing for his crimes...in an attempt to save his life.

the body of 53-year-old gilberto rodriguez was found february 13th... in the parking lot of gray whale cove state beach. police say rodriguez had been shot to death. investigators hope that by releasing the victim's picture... someone will remember seeing him that night. they say no tip is too small. ( james ) in the east bay... a bookstore has been the target of an alt-right group for several months... now store owners are saying the threats are getting violent. employees at revolution bookstore were met by an angry group of protestors on saturday... one of them threatening to burn the store down. they call themselves the "western chauvenists," workers say this is the 10th time the group was aggressive in front of their store. ( james ) store employees are now rallying the community togeher to stand up to what they consider a form of hate.

( darya ) a woman is arrested... accused of holding a 3-year-old at knife point and stabbing the girl's mother. this all happened in tulare county... on a greyhound bus that was headed for oakland. passengers say this woman -- teresa ann andrade madrigal -- was talking to herself and acting strangely after boarding the bus in bakersfield. about an hour after she got on... a witness says madrigal grabbed the child and started hitting her. she then stabbed the mother. two other passengers and the drivers were able to subdue her. ( darya ) ( darya ) the suspect stabbed

herself in the neck before the men got the knife away from her. doctors performed emergency surgery on the mother to treat her abdominal stab wound. ( darya ) after 32 years... a man is charged with the murders of two women in the east bay. david misch is accused of killing michelle xavier and jennifer duey in fremont. the case dates back to 1986. that's when a motorcyclist found the women's bodies on mill creek road. misch became a person of interest back in 2000. police say they were able to close the case thanks to evidence collected since then. and even though it's been more than 30 years... people in the community remember the crime.

( james ) a former youth basketball coach in san mateo county is sentenced to 50 years in prison for child molestation. julio edgardo ortiz was arrested in september 2016 after c-h-p officers found him in a car performing sexual acts on a 14-year-old boy. police say ortiz met the victim two years earlier when he was coaching basketball at an elementary school. four more victims eventually came forward. ortiz pleaded no contest to the charges last month. ( james ) governor brown is set to appeal a judge's ruling that california must consider early parole for thousands of sex offenders.

just feet from their mountain condo near the kirkwood ski resort. kron 4's lydia pantazes joins us live from french american international school in san francisco. lydia... the mother who died in this tragic accident is 50/year old olga perkovic's.we learned through her linkedin account that she volunteered here at the french american international school in san francisco. the mom and her boy were last seen on a chair-lift around 4-pm.they had been skiing in kirkwood, which is in the sierra nevada and at approximately 9...a neighbor of theirs noticed ski gloves on the snow alongside their condo. 50-year-old olga perkovic and her son aaron were found unconscious beneath three feet of snow. they were immediately rescued and air-flighted to the hospital. but neither survived. deputies determined the two had returned to their condo by skiing through a wooded area... that's when the snow slid from the roof of the condo and buried them. perkovic was on a ski vacation with her three

( darya ) a woman is arrested... accused of holding a 3-year-old at knife point and year-old at knife point and stabbing the girl's mother. this all happened in tulare county... on a greyhound bus that was headed for oakland. passengers say this woman -- teresa ann andrade madrigal -- was talking to herself and acting strangely after boarding the bus in bakersfield. about an hour after she got on... a witness says madrigal grabbed the child and started hitting her. she then stabbed the mother. two other passengers and the driver were able to subdue her.

been more than 30 years... people in the community remember the crime. ( darya ) misch is currently serving time in a california state prison for the 1989 murder of a woman in alameda county. ( james ) a former youth basketball coach in san mateo county is sentenced to 50 years in prison for child molestation. julio edgardo ortiz was arrested in september 2016 after c-h-p officers found him in a car performing sexual acts on a 14-year-old boy. police say ortiz met the victim two years earlier when he was coaching basketball at an elementary school. four more victims eventually came forward. ortiz pleaded no contest to the charges last month. ( james ) happening now... a stinky situation for swimmers in one of san franicso's iconic spots. there's a boat anchored in aquatic park cove...which swimmers say is in their territory...and has been for a while. as kron four's spencer blake explains, the boat's not legally permited to be there in the first place. (reporter on cam)"have you seen anything like it before where somebody just drops anchor and doesn't leave?not for this length of time."s-f maritime spokesman lynn cullivan is referring to this yacht, which has been moored in aquatic park cove for more than one hundred total days.a permit, which this boat does ánot have, only allows you to drop anchor for five days here. happened on baywood avenue in menlo park. officials say the 130-foot tall tree had been struck by lightning last september... but the strong winds from the recent storm caused the tree to fall. it fell into a bedroom on the second floor of the home. nobody was injured. ( darya ) in the south bay... police are looking for a gunman after a man was shot in san jose. it happened sunday on the 16-hundred block of la rossa circle. the victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. police do not have a detailed description of the suspect. ( darya ) and in the east bay... police are trying to identify a man seen inside a women's restroom. walnut creek investigators say this man was seen peeking over a bathroom stall. this was inside the women's restroom at skipolini's pizza. ( james ) national news... a former campaign aide to president trump says he is refusing to comply with a grand jury subpoena in the russia investigation. during a series of t-v interviews... sam nunberg held nothing back.

to strengthen america's gun background checks. four senators are introducing a new bill. they hope it will save lives after last month's deadly shooting in parkland, florida. it would require the f-b-i to share more information with state and local law enforcement -- including information on when someone fails the background check. ( james ) governor brown is set to appeal a judge's ruling that california must consider early parole for thousands of sex offenders. brown will fight the order made final by a sacramento judge yesterday. the order upholds last month's tentative ruling that prison officials must rewrite part of proposition 57. the 20-16

ballot measure allows earlier parole for most prison inmates. but brown promised voters sex offenders would be excluded. the state will challenge that judge's finding that the exclusion can only apply to those serving time for a violent sex offense. ( james ) a federal judge in san francisco will not make the trump administration give california money in a law enforcement grant... at least for now. the administration held the money over concerns that california does not comply with immigration laws. the state wanted a judge to force the federal governemnt to hand over the one million dollars. but the judge says the money is just on hold for now so he was not going to get involved. ( darya ) the man convicted of killing two california law enforcement officials will be sentenced soon. luis bracamontes confessed to killing sacramento county deputy danny oliver -- and placer county sheriff's detective michael davis junior back in 20-14.
